"Oh, fuck no." The door is slammed, unfortunately for him, the guy stuck his foot in the jamb and pushed it open again.
"C'mon luv!" Constantine smiles charmingly, not waiting for Danny and entering the apartment.
At least Batman, Nightwing and Spoiler had the patience to wait for him to invite them in. Sagging against the door, he beckoned them inside.
Despite the caution, Spoiler gleefully stepped in, looking around like a child in an amusement park— which might not be too far off.
His apartment is, with all its wards and enchantments, very magical inside than it is outside.
The planetary system of another world, used as light for the living room and for practice.
(Nightwing is careful with what he touches. He still remembers the hours they spent in Mumbo Jumbo's hat.)
Batman on the other hand is following Constantine and Danny to what he assumes to be the office, if the amount of magical stuff carelessly laying around means anything.
"Alright fucker, what are you doing here? And how did you even know I live in gotham?"
John had the audacity to look abashed, scratching the back of his head with a nervous chuckle.
"Something came up and you know Gotham doesn't like me. She is much more used to you and I wanted to introduce bats to you, in case of emergency."
The young adolence stares owlishly.
(How did Constantine expect him to act at the fact that he's trusting a magical situation into the hands of a stranger?
Batman isn't sure how good the boy even is!)
"That's incredible thoughtful of you Connie." Danny hums. "What did you lose for your sorry ass to come here?"
Spoiler snorts, petting a red salamander. "He didn't lose anything." She reassures with a wave, giving an exaggerated smile and raising her brows to show that she's finding it very amusing.
Constantine sputters.
"Ancient knows how Zatanna and Raven deal with him."
Nighteing perks up from the side where he'd looked over the books, some pixie fairies(?) fawning over him? "Raven? You know her?"
Danny suppresses another sigh.

Incredibly fucking insane how well the Wit fits as an allegory for queerness. Burrich's harsh rejection of Fitz and Swift for it, the simultaneous automatic learned reaction of disgust and the fear at learning he has a child who could face real danger because of it, the multitude of ways he misunderstands and refuses to understand the way the Wit functions in order to keep his views. His "I've tried many years to purge it from myself. Still, it lingers. But if it cannot be purged from a man, he can nevertheless be taught to refuse it. Just as a man must learn to refuse all other sorts of vices." The damage to his relationship with first Fitz because of his inability to accept thar Fitz not only has but continues to use the Wit. The way Fitz eventually embraces his Wit but is always careful, so so careful and so worried for people like Swift, who flaunt it. Web's "there are other types of neglect and deprivation. To deny what unfolds in someone...to say to a child 'you must not be what you are.' That is wrong." It's just!! All over the fucking place!!!

Goddamn Alador's face here.
He said he hasn't had a day off in 5 years and it fucking shows in his appearance & demeanor -- things that were chalked up to just be his personality but are maybe actually signs of his suffering -- but when you see Odalia threatening to really put the kids to manual labor the palpable fear on his face is devastating. (Like, her own kids!!!! It probably would've fallen mostly on Amity as she's the one skilled with abomination, but also probably would've resulted in forcing the twins to get abomination sigil sealed instead of studying any of their actual interests)
I feel bad hating him before, like yeah he was neglectful to the point of not talking to his kids prior to this pivotal moment of him finally standing up to her, but with this context revealed he probably hasn't really had a chance to talk to any of them since like... Amity's bday party where they forced her to ditch Willow, lest they become worked like cattle too. He's beaten down and mistreated but if he just shoulders it all himself at least the kids won't get too much of the overflow abuse, right?
Makes you wonder what his side of the bargain was to keep her from exploiting the kids, or how it got to that bargain to begin with. If the closeness they displayed back at Hexside was ever genuine, or if Odalia sought him out specifically thanks to Oracle magic and seeing a wealthy future and it was all some long con, or if maybe it was genuine at one point but then eventually over time it rotted from the core and suddenly Alador found himself locked into this nightmare.
This reveal alone really gives a lot of justification to all of Alador's previous behaviors, and thanks to King of all people he finally got to get out of dodge and save the kids in the process. Good for him. Happy divorce, dude

Motka (left) and Germaine (right) are two dumbass asexual bffs. Kinda lengthy rambling below.
Germaine doesn't like much physical contact but Motka and his brother Tremaine are fine. The reasoning being, when he was younger, he was fine. Contact was good. Hugs were nice. Tremaine hated his guts until he was like three then latched onto him impressively and cried if anyone got too close to them. So Germaine just kinda .... learned to avoid contact with others and keeping his distance for the sake of Tremaine. (their parents died when they were young so Germaine did his best to raise Tremaine and worries all the time he messed up really bad)
Motka is very friendly with everyone and enjoys being around others. But Germaine? That's his safe spot! He adores Germaine (and Tremaine) and considers himself very lucky to know them. He doesn't admit it to Germaine but he's actually very jealous of him and Tremaine having each other. He knows they lost their parents and that's sad, yes, but they have each other. Motka however? Has his parents alive for most of his life but his younger sister passed away before he met the brothers. So seeing them together makes him a little sad about what could have been for him had his sister not gotten so sick.
Also: Germaine cannot lie. Like he just can't. Motka admits "you know, it's endearing knowing you will always be honest with me but sometimes I want to punch you over what you say" and Germaine's just "that's very fair and you can punch me if you really want". (spoiler, Motka doesn't punch him)
Also: Motka doesn't use the word "love". He'll very openly say "I adore you!" or "I cherish the time I spend with you!" but he avoids saying "love" at all costs. No one really knows why, it's just a weird Motka-thing, just like Germaine being unable to lie.

HILARIOUS to see gojo, who up until his evil box imprisonment, is this heartbreaking character who got locked up in the first place BECAUSE he was still human even with all his godlike strength. And all that happened to him post-evil box all the way to his death is him acting like an emotionless war seeking freak.
Like think about it. His reaction to nanami dying was “ohhh that sucks :// oh well” and megumi getting taken over was “i can punch you real hard cause you look like Him :D” and his death chapter stated that his only regret was that he didn’t get to make sukuna give his all. Really??? So much of gojo’s character is below the surface yes but you have to admit there’s a bizarre mishandling of his character here.
It’s like he wasnt given enough time to actually feel human and all the focus was put into making him as cool as possible in a dick measuring contest with sukuna. No substance at all. Good job man. With his death, gojo ends as a guy who WAS defined by his strength til the very end. No human person underneath all that.
