This blog was created by @linettefox to roleplay as their favorite Precure. Interact how you want with Lala however do NOT act inappropriately or ask 18+ questions here, this character is only 14 as of the end of her season and genuinely I don't want to see it.

Also this blog takes place after the events of Star Twinkle but before the time skip in the final episode. But she can still transform because that's more fun and like All Stars canons. Anyways back to Lala!

On Hagoromo Lala

I know perfectly well that there's no way PreCure's creators intend this, but bear with me for a moment.

In general, over the course of the series, Lala is shown to be increasingly happy and comfortable on Earth and with her friendship with the other Star Twinke PreCures. However, when she's returned to the context of Samaan in episode 29, she is clearly unhappy to be there: unlike all of the other girls (even Uni is smiling!), she doesn't have the slightest bit of enthusiasm about returning home. And it's easy to see why: she's low on the social hierarchy, she's uncomfortable using everyday tools like the hover-scooters, and she's clearly unhappy with her life in general.

Like. Her family is loving and supportive, but she seems to face some sort of social stigma or discrimination for no real reason. Like, yeah, Kuku is understandably annoyed with her for getting way behind on her reports (due to running off and being a Pretty Cure), but c'mon, there was absolutely no logical reason for him to jump straight from "I was attacked by a complete stranger from the Notraiders, and now Lala is holding the Star Color Pen and standing over me with visible concern" to "Lala is trying to steal the pen" ... unless he was jumping at any excuse he could find to turn the entire planet against her that the Mother AI couldn't argue with.

One of the turning points in episode 30, the major sign that the AI isn't completely gone, is that it referrs to Lala as "Hagoromo Lala" -- a surname she chose for herself that she basically got from a movie.

In episode 13, Lala tries to go native on Earth by going to school. This is a big change from the first couple of episodes, in which she wants to be seen as an adult by Saamanian standards; however, when given the opportunity to spend more time as a child, she happily takes it. Almost as if she has regrets about her Saamanian childhood, and wants to try it over again.

In the same episode, she is shown to be incredibly self-conscious about not passing as human, and the minute somone calls her weird, she tries to abandon anything that sets her apart.

In episode 2, Hikaru flat-out tells Lala, "If you want to be a Pretty Cure, just be one!" -- which, as I've said before, works as a trans metaphor.

Like, again, this can't possibly have been the creators' intentions, but magical girls as a concept have big trans energy.

Their respective genders notwithstanding, Lala and Lolo look more like identical twins than fraternal twins.

DanMachi Star Soma Saito Joins Cast of Star Twinkle PreCure

  This season's Star Twinkle PreCure has an outer space theme and even features an alien protagonist in Lala Hagoromo. In this week's episode, fans discovered Lala has a twin brother who's also exploring space, and he's voiced by an actor many viewers may have heard before!

  Soma Saito joined the cast in episode 26 in the role of Lolo, after having his presence teased in episode 25. Saito has recently appeared as Sho Utsumi in SSSS.GRIDMAN, Hermes in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon?, and yet another Hermes in the latest anime adaptation of Kino's Journey.

    Not much is known yet about Lolo, but it appears he'll become a major player in episodes to come.

  Star Twinkle PreCure marks the 16th year of the long-running Pretty Cure franchise, which Netflix and Hasbro have begun localizing in the US as Glitter Force.
