James did not use a condom again....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...when he visited Madeleine in her paternal hideout in Norway. We all know that scene where he tells her that Blowfeld assured him she had nothing to do with that attack in Italy. (James has also become much dumber with his older age). In which he more or less expresses his regret that he had put her on that train at the time and their reconciliation was interrupted by their daughter and he saw his daughter for the first time. After Madeleine told him about Safin, the two must have celebrated their reconciliation between the sheets. Their first love affair after being separated for 5 years and also their very last. I'm also sure that since Madeleiene was alone for 5 years and always loved James so much, there was never another man in her life, so she didn't have any pregnancy pills in the house. And James and the use of a condom… Hopeless case. I think he doesn't know a condom yet and what is it for? Their daughter is living proof of it. That they had sex that night is undoubtedly proof enough and even their daughter was more or less witness to it, although she would only realize it much later given her young age…
Tumblr media
Here is the clear proof, James and Madeleine naked in bed and their daughter even saw it when she was hungry and asked her parents for breakfast. So James and Madeleine made love that night (for the last time in their lives)
Tumblr media
What do you think Madeleine finds out three months later????Yes, indeed. That she is pregnant again by James
If their second child had been a daughter, she would have named her Vesper after Vesper Lynd, James's late former mistress, but when she gave birth to a son nine months after that last lovemaking with James, she named him "Felix Swann… to James Former close friend at the CIA "Felix Leiter"

I could be knitting on my pride shawl, but instead I spent the weekend planning and dyeing fiber for a different shawl.
See, I take road trips with my husband every other fall.  And despite the fact that I plan to do half the driving, I end up driving for an hour or so each trip.  Leaving me with hands that would be bored if I wasn’t knitting.  Four years ago, it corresponded with a knit along my LYS was running for Lisa Mutch’s Sand Ripples. The pattern inspired me to dye and spin yarn to echo the forested mountains I expected to see on my trip through the Pacific Northwest and I’m still fairly proud how it turned out.
My next planned road trip is through the eroded deserts of the Southwest.  Because it’s outside my standard colorways, I want to make a shawl inspired by the colors of canyon walls.  I’ve picked out Mutch’s Bloodmoon to knit, as it evokes stratigraphy.  I weighed out and dyed up some merino/alpaca blend that was in my stash.  Every color ended up different than I planned, but I think they all work.  Though I doubt at various times the light yellow/orange, the purple and the brown.  I already overdyed the orange, because the first time it came out the dye bath it was a solid bright orange.

Hello ma’am ‘tis I CEO of crack ships here to ask your rank of your favourite crack ships
LISA HELLO IM GOING TO ASSUME THIS INCLUDES NORMS AND THE PUNKS
these ships are based off ones that aren’t in my personal AU (color code and Robike + Miblo). I’m also excluding color crack & clash from this, because I posted my takes on those a few posts back. you can find that on my profile.
1. PRINBIN PRINBIN PRINBIN. ROBIN AND PRINCESS WOULD HAVE SUCH A GOOD RELATIONSHIP PLEASE IT WOULD BE TOP TIER OH MY GOD WITH LIKE THE INITIAL DISLIKE FOR EACH OTHER THAT TURNS INTO A MUTUAL FONDNESS THEN JUST “this is my bitch ass girlfriend. insult her and you die” GOD I LOVE PRINBIN also I didn’t know their ship name so I said that and I love it so I won’t be taking criticism
2. Bubin. Robubbles? Robubs. Bu- Robin and Bubbles. I was put on this from Trinity House by @renaerys ITS SO GOOD PLEASE I LOVE THEM
3. Bike. Brike. it’s one of the two names I’m sure but yeah Brick x Mike. their relationship is so funny to me, two normally decently smart individuals who become reckless idiots around each other
4. I’ve been coerced into the Boomike circle. wholesome and adorable
5. if I didn’t talk about the adorabilty that is Mitchike in this I feel like you would have been online shopping for pitch forks. they’re so cute, every fic I read of them makes me love them more and more
6. PrinBrute makes my heart so happy, it’s hard to explain but I love them
7. Princess has been in so many of these ships, but also Buttercup+Princess, even platonically, is so fun. they have a mutual drive for success, though Princess’s is more... arrogant... to say the least. also I feel like Princess would be the biggest hype man when BC fights anyone or anything, and if BC gets angry she would just speed walk next her to while threatening to “buy and sell” anyone who even looks at her weird
8. PRINCESS IS VERY VERSATILE IM SORRY Prinbloss. 100/10 so cute oh my god I love it. Blossom being the first person to give Princess a chance after years of hatred coming at her? Princess realizing she likes women after Blossom welcomed her as a friend? the SLOW BURN POSSIBILITIES WE COULD HAVE??? GAH
9. Mitch and Boomer. very funny skater band boys who just geek out together, I love it
10. Bitch. Mutch. no matter how I try to phrase their ship name it’s bad, but the ship itself is 😙💋🤌 mwah, adorable. high energy and ready to take on the world, I love it
there are definitely more but I’m gonna stick to my top 10 for now
if you’d like to read about some of these ships (and more ;)) or see some gorgeous art on them, please check out @lisathefan’s blog and AO3 account, highly recommend

Duckworth, the Difficult Child by Michael Sussman, illustrated by Júlia Sarda. Atheneum Books for Young Readers, 2019. 9781534405127. http://www.powells.com/book/-9781534405127?partnerid=34778&p_bt
When a giant snake comes out of his closet, Duckworth's parents, who are trying to deal with him, tell him he's too old to be imagining things like that. After he takes a nap, the snake eats him. His parents continue to ignore it.
How To Be A T. Rex by Ryan North, illustrated by Mike Lowery. Dial, 2018. 9780399186240. http://www.powells.com/book/-9780399186240?partnerid=34778&p_bt
When Sal grows up he wants to be a T. Rex. His brother says that's impossible. His brother is wrong. It's fun being a dinosaur, but there are downsides, too. (This is another great, short comic disguised as a picture book.)
Everything Awesome about Dinosaurs and Other Prehistoric Beasts by Mike Lowery. Orchard Books, 2019. 9781338566291. 128pp (not a picture book!) http://www.powells.com/book/-9781338566291?partnerid=34778&p_bt
I'm obviously a huge fan of Lowery's picture books, and of pretty much everything he draws. This is maybe my favorite dinosaur book ever, probably because it has lots of other animals, too.  Lowery's lettering is as fun as his drawings.
This fall there's another book like this coming from Lowery, about sharks and other underwater creatures.
The Two Mutch Sisters by Carol Brendler, art by Lisa Brown. Clarion Books, 2018. 9780544430747. http://www.powells.com/book/-9780544430747?partnerid=34778&p_bt
"The Mutch Sisters were collectors." They still are, and their house is full of crap -- two of everything. There's no space! Ruby tells Violet she's moving out. And she does. Then Violet feels like something is missing, and takes drastic steps. (Is this a warning about two collectors getting used to living together? That's how I'm taking it.)
Worth noting: Brown draws everything from cats to glockenspiels to bear skins with tons of panache. She's one of my five favorite picture book illustrators, right up there with Jon Agee!
The Lost Book by Margarita Surnaite. Margarget K. McElderry Books, 2019. 9781534438187. http://www.powells.com/book/-9781534438187?partnerid=34778&p_bt
Books are everywhere in Rabbit Town, and everyone loves them except Henry. Then he finds a lost book, and sets off to find its owner in the human city. Touching and surprising plus (spoiler alert) Henry doesn't fall in love with books at the end!

My completed and blocked #agleamshawl by the fabulous @nbknitting Lisa Mutch I did it in @madelinetosh colourway Blind Love. I know now why she did not add a picot bind off, as she would have been just releasing the pattern last week...Ugh!!! I swear it took me just as long to bind off as it did to knit the whole darn thing. I will never again picot bind off any other item that has more then 100 stitches, this had over 300. Which is 900 stitches since for every stitch I bound off I had to add 2 new stitches. I am super stoked with the finished product, the pattern, the wool and yes even the bind off. I am working on a test knit shawl next for @impossibleknotyarnshop just have to get the pattern and narrow down my wool choices, it's like naming your children...so much pressure. #shawl #agleam #northboundknitting #knittingismytherapy #knitting #wool #knittingisfun #canadianknitter #agleamshawl https://www.instagram.com/p/BzJFr0BA7xM/?igshid=yuoeg7gpowur

Pom Pom Pleasure
Today was a pretty bad day. I think it would be fair to describe my overall mood as glum. As regular readers of my blog will know, Matt and I have been living with his ever-patient folks for nearly 18 months now, fastidiously saving our pennies to buy a house and get wed. It's been a long slog but finally, over the last month, we've been in a position to look seriously for somewhere of our very own to buy. Last week we found somewhere pretty special - with a big garden for Holly Dog to play in and plenty of room for Matt to tinker with campervans and boats and other toys, while I pottered about, doing all the things I like to do. So, excitedly, on Saturday we put in an offer and waited, anxiously, for four days.
This morning our offer was rejected. Not only that but some other bugger had put in a higher offer, and it had been accepted. Game over. Back to the drawing board.
On my drive home from the office today, I didn't think much could cheer me up. But I was met, on my return home, not only with a lovely plate of smoked haddock and mashed potatoes (kindly cooked by my mother-in-law) but also a pile of parcels. Is there anything more exciting than receiving a parcel?
Depressingly, the first package was a reminder of the offer, waiting to be accepted, from our mortgage company. But the second parcel was rather more lovely.
Tumblr media
Wrapped in navy blue tissue paper and tied with silver string, the parcel came with a little brown card tag that read 'Thanks Becky! Pom Pom x'.
Pom Pom is a British, quarterly magazine now in its third edition that I discovered just the other day, after chatting to Lisa Mutch, a knitwear designer, on Twitter (@nbknitting) - she was excited to see her new hat pattern in print; admiring its prettiness, I asked her where I could find it, and she recommended Pom Pom. (By the way, in real life Lisa is based in Canada, but you can find her on Ravelry and she also has a beautiful Etsy shop, where she sells hand-dyed yarn, as well as her patterns.)
Tumblr media
After subscribing to Mollie Makes just over a year ago, I never thought I'd have my head turned by another knitting/craft magazine, but this one is pretty spectacular. Not only does it contain tonnes of truly gorgeous patterns, but some really lovely features and recipes too (Spiced Cranberry Hot Toddy, and Cardamom and Black Pepper Oat Shortbreads in the Winter issue). The card stock and design are also stunning, and I'm a sucker for great presentation, me.
I've got a five-hour round trip to London planned tomorrow so I'm saving the rest of the magazine to savour on my train journey.
