Lightningpelt is so-called for the white stripe on his back (not visible in the picrew.

Fic Recs - RFFA

This year for the RFFA exchange, I got two gifts - both of which used the same prompt:

The High Republic books and comics have introduced 'The Barash Vow' - an oath taken by Jedi as penance for doing horrible things and turning to the Dark Side or as a way to rebuild their relationship with the Force and work through their trauma. The Jedi would disengage from the world and from all attachments, such as war or politics, and focus on the Force. I would love a story where either Kylo Ren/Ben Solo or Rey takes the Vow for one reason or another.

In both fics, Rey is the one who takes the Vow and both have Angst with a Happy Ending, but both fics interpret the prompt in very different ways. That's the beauty of prompts!

Under Luke's advice, Rey returns to Ahch-to to focus and attempt to move on from Ben's death. But the Force feels further and further away as the years go by, and the darkness calls louder and louder.
