last night's episodes of totnt mostly irritated me with very bad pacing, which is a shame, because I was so charmed by the lead up. there have been too many redundant meetings and also too many people stopping to monologue about how sad it will be if Lee Yeon dies. >:( I was ready to have brainworms for at least two weeks, show. Also, going into the final episodes there has still been no actual explanation for why the main character abandoned his kid brother on a burning mountain with a dead puppy aside from "he was very sad." im beginning to question whether he was locked in a hell dimension at all.

#on the bright side Lee Rang was annoying again like you don't understand people who have not watched this show #this man is SO annoying #did Lee Yeon think the kid was dead after their house burned down? #because surely! surely!!! #when your forest your little brother lives in burns to the ground you try to check up on him #unless you've been locked in a hell dimension which is what I had been assuming happened #it's also weird that they've gone through a lot of trouble to establish that Lee Yeon's devoted bff/nanny is great with kids #and yet! #we never see him with kid Lee Rang in the flashbacks and they don't come across as having been particularly close #like why #if you personally cannot deal with your sadness for long enough to pick your kid up #would you not at least send your bro who is great with kids? #i do like that the dude seems to have learned from his experiences with this family #Lee Rang rocks up sans child and he's just like WHERE IS THE CHILD DID YOU LEAVE THE CHILD ALONE #press says totnt #oooh ok I think I've figured it out #Lee Rang knows where he went #he just never heard from him again after he left #and Lee Yeon did said he tried to come back for him #so sequence of events seems to be #Lee Yeon told Lee Rang he was leaving #for samdocheon #possibly even why he was quitting being a mountain god #he thought Lee Rang would be fine on the mountain by himself with his puppy which #fine ok it seems like he was on his own with the puppy a lot anyway #he was depressed and uninvolved after that point but did not intend to ditch the kid entirely #when he found out the mountain had burned he #went back to look for him but Lee Rang had already booked it #the next he heard of him was when his face popped up on the most wanted list #and he'd either thought he was dead or had been looking for him up to that point

Naruto’s POV: Age 5

I sat on the playground floor, crying from the abandonment and the pain. No one would play with me and some kids just beat me up. The teacher stopped them and pulled them by the ears to the principal’s office, but no one was here to cheer me up. “Boy, why are you crying?” someone asked. I looked up and say a young girl. She had short (hair color) hair, which were in pigtails. She wore an overall dress with a plain orange shirt underneath and pink sneakers.

She had bright (eye color) eyes. I got up and wiped the tears away with the back of my hand. “No one wants to play with me and be my friend,” I said, sniffling. “No one cares that I get beat up, too.” The little girl suddenly gave me a hug. I stood there shocked, with a blush on my face. The girl stood back and smiled at me. “I’ll be your friend! My name’s (y/n)!” she said. I looked at her shocked, but I smiled back and said, “I’m Naruto.” (Y/n) grabbed my hand and pulled me with her. “Come on, Naruto! Let’s play on the juggle-gym!” she laughed. I laughed with her and ran with her to the jungle-gym.

Age 16

I angrily watched as all the boys crowded around (y/n). As she got older, the other boys started to notice her more and more, until she was surrounded by fanboys, similar to that Duck Butt Uchiha. But unlike the emo Sasuke, she acknowledged the boys. I saw (y/n) stumble out of the crowd of fanboys and yell, “Sorry guys, but I have to go see my friends now!” The boys whined in disappointment and slowly walked away unhappily. (Y/n) jogged over to me and smiled when she was close enough. “Woo! Those boys sure are a handful! They constantly pester me,” (y/n) said and moved some strands out of her face.

“I’m just happy you would rather spend time with me and not forget me,” I said, joking around with her. “How could I forget my best friend?” she questioned. I felt a slight pain in my heart when she said that. Best friend, I thought. Is that all she thinks of me. “Well, you’re my best friend, too,” I said and smiled a closed eye smile. The bell abruptly rang signaling the start of class.

“That was the bell. Come on, Naruto. Let’s go before we’re late for class,” (y/n) said and grabbed my hand. I blushed as we rushed down the hall with her small hand in mine. I loved how her hand felt in mine; it was so warm and soft. If only she felt the same as I did, I thought.

~Time Skip~

It was now lunch and I was hanging out with some of my other friends outside. We were talking about random things, when Kiba spoke up. “Naruto, when are you going to ask (y/n) out?” “Yeah, when are you going to ask her out?” Rock Lee said. “Soon,” I grumbled, not wanting to talk about the issue. “Well you better hurry, because a lot of guys like her,” Neji said. “Looks like it’s too late,” Sasuke said and pointed.

I looked to where he was pointed and saw a sight that made me my inner Nine Tail Demon almost break out of its cage. A guy was flirting with (y/n) had cornered her to the back of a tree. By the way her face looked, it seemed (y/n) didn’t like how close he was and didn’t want his attention. I felt my blood boil and I angrily walked over to the man. Yes, I admit it, I was jealous. Anyway, I reached the boy and put my hand his shoulder. The boy whipped his head around to look at me.

The boy looked like trouble, having dark brown hair shaved on the sides and had tattoos covering his whole arms, piercing green eyes filled with darkness. I easily recognized him as one of the school’s bad boys, who dated women just for sex, smoked and drank illegally, and constantly fought. The guy glared at me, not enjoying me being here. “Get out of here, blondie, can’t you see I’m busy,” the punk said. I pulled him away from (y/n) and said, “Get away from my girlfriend.” I heard (y/n) gasp and the gut just glared at me. “Oh really, prove it,” he said.

I did the first think that came to my mind. I quickly cupped (y/n)’s cheeks and kissed her. From the way (y/n) stood tense, I could tell she was shocked. But she quickly relaxed in my hold and kissed back. I smiled in the kiss and moved my hands to hold onto her waist. (Y/n) moved her hands to around my neck. We pulled away when we needed to breathe, my lips tingling from the sweet and romantic kiss.

I saw the punk guy was no longer there; he probably walked off, angry he couldn’t get (y/n). “Naruto,” (y/n) said, a bright red blush on her face. “I’m sorry, (y/n), but I couldn’t think of anything else to do,” I said, my face also red. I hugged her close to me and I hid my face in her soft (hair color) hair. “Please, don’t hate me for this, but I love you, (y/n)-chan. Ever since you first wanted to be my friend.” “Naruto, I…”

I pulled back from (y/n) to see her smile. Confused, I opened my mouth to say something, but (y/n) beat me to it. “I love you, too, Naruto-san. Ever since I was a child, too,” she said. I smiled so wide my cheeks hurt. “(Y/n), will be my girlfriend?” I asked. “Of course, baka,” (y/n) replied and kissed me sweetly.

I smiled in the kiss and returned it. We were interrupted by my friends, and (y/n)’s girl friends, cheering for us. “Great job, (Y/n)!” (Your best friend’s name) called out. “Yeah, get some, Naruto!” Kiba said, before Sai hit him in the back of his head. I held (y/n) in my arms, relishing the feeling of my arms around her. Thank you for always being there for me, I thought.

Uchiha Mikoto was the Kyuubi Jinchuriki. Now, Uchiha Sasuke holds the title. He was raised by his older brother, Uchiha Itachi. The Uchiha Clan – upset with the death of the the clan leader – planned a coup d'etat that Itachi quite violently prevented. Sasuke was traumatized by this event and tends to avoid any mention of the event if possible.

Sai lived with his family happily until his brother Shin killed his parents one day. Unbeknownst to him, the parents had been plotting the death of Sai. Shin, being a protective older brother, did the only reasonable thing and killed their parents to keep Sai safe even at the cost of his status.

Uzumaki Naruto lived alone and was taken into ROOT by the manipulative Sarutobi Hiruzen. He’s talented in art and combat but is quite lacking in the emotions department.

Hinata lives in the Main Branch of the Hyuuga Clan, somehow oblivious to the horrors and hardships of the shinobi world. She is shy at first until she meets Haruno Sakura who brings her out of her shell. They become friends until they both find out the other also likes Sai. Thus is the birth of their rivalry.

Haruno Sakura’s parents were shinobi and trained and raised her to be, too. However, to be honest, she cared less about shinobi life and more about her appearance, impressing Sai, and her rivalry with Hinata.

Yamanaka Ino is shy, lacking any true confidence in herself. She is very kind and tries very hard to train and impress her clan. She is absolutely infatuated with Sasuke.

Akimichi Choji is a talented hand-to-hand combatant and is very skilled with weaponry. However, he often finds himself exasperated with the antics of his teammate Shikamaru and their sensei, Nohara Rin.

Nara Shikamaru is very motivated for a Nara, frightening many people with his willingness to comply with physical activity. The only thing that truly distinguishes him as a Nara is his ridiculously vast intellect. Although it is difficult to tell it’s there past his equally vast eccentricity.

Rock Lee rather lazy and unmotivated. However, he entered the Ninja Academy anyways where he discovered Taijutsu. He was fascinated by it and found Kakashi who tutored him for a while and encouraged him to pursue his love.

TenTen and Yamanaka Ino were childhood friends. However, after an incident involving an argument between their parents, TenTen hated Ino who she felt had to right to be in a clan. Ino and she have a very complicated relationship at best.

Hyuuga Neji is kind and very hesitant to harm others. He is very sensitive about his eyes that people often describe as creepy or even scary. He will lash out in anger if this is said within his hearing range. Furthermore, he and Rock Lee are close friends.

Temari is the Ichibi Jinchuriki. Even her brothers would avoid her because of this. An incident that leads to an attempt st her life scars her to the point where she believes she can trust nobody. During the Chunin Exams, Uchiha Sasuke gets through to her and tells her of his own resolve to make everybody accept him given their similar circumstances.

Kankuro just wants to be seen as him, not as: the Kazekage’s son, the demon girl’s sibling, or one of the new Kazekage’s brothers. Essentially he’s just the comic relief as he goes to various humorous lengths to be noticed.

Konohamaru gives puppeteering a try and discovers he’s pretty good at it. He’s way too confident and often overexaggerates his abilities. Sometimes, he can be pretty rude about it, too.

Uchiha Fugaku led a squad consisting of Uchiha Obito, Maito Gai, and Sarutobi Asuma. Gai and Asuma are besties, but Gai doesn’t really like Obito who Asuma admires zealously. Gai goes MIA during an important mission, presumably dead because of the circumstances. Obito and Asuma are obviously rather upset by this. Next, Obito accidentally kills Asuma. Then, Fugaku and his wife die, leaving their children. One of them violently murders nearly everyone in the Uchiha Clan, and the other child goes to rather depressing lengths to get any attention aside from pity.

Uchiha Itachi loves violence. He swears way too much. He’s very confident in his abilities, sometimes overestimating himself. He’s a bit short-tempered. He practically worships his younger brother, Uchiha Sasuke, and he isn’t afraid to let others know.

Hidan likes explosions, claiming them to be the art of the gods. He doesn’t like Deidara too much though because he’s the reason he has “to be a part of this stupid group”.

Deidara was a prodigy in Iwa who quickly ascended in the ranks. He was normally quiet but often kind and polite. One day, he supposedly snapped, resulting in thin murdering a large portion of the Explosion Corps.

Sasori is rather laid back. He is a master of Doton and is skilled with sword. In fact, a stole a sword from one often Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. Despite being quite friendly, he isn’t quick to trust.

Hoshigaki Kisame cares only for money. He left Kiri when his income started dropping. This led him to collecting bounties instead.

Kakuzu was reserved as a child, and he was always interested in the art of puppetry. He continued to create better puppets than the previous until he craved for something more. He eventually made people and even himself into puppets.

Senju Tsunade was the dead last of her squad. She didn’t get along well with Jiraiya because he was the best. Orochimaru admired Jiraiya’s abilities but found more interest in healing practices. One day, during wartime, the trio was in Ame where they came across some orphans – a shy boy with orange hair, a girl who seemed to lead the group, and a redheaded boy who she later discovers has the Rinnegan – whom Tsunade decided to train. Orochimaru soon flees from the village, seeking solitude from the death that seems to follow him. Shortly after the death of Fugaku who had been her student, Jiraiya escapes capture after being found conducting illegal experiments. Hoping to be able to seek her teammates, she leaves as well, using her informants to keep Konoha safe and informed.

Otsutsuki Ashura was jealous his brother, Otsutsuki Indra, who their father favored. He seeked to impress their father as well. The younger brother, Indra, tries to help his brother impress their father as well which leads to Ashura feeling insulted. They end up fighting despite either boy not wanting to fight. This leads to being the Senju-Uchiha feud.

Senju Tobirama is very loud, prone to mood swings, very strong, and is best friends with Uchiha Madara secretly. Madara cares about the safety of his clan and usually heeds his parents’ warnings. While usually being smart and observant, he somehow misses that Tobirama is a Senju. Senju Hashirama is strong and gets jealous of his little brother Tobirama for a lot of reasons to be honest. They end up fighting, and Tobirama is victorious. Tobirama and Madara become Shodaime and Niidaime respectively. Apparently Madara wasn’t very good with politics though.
