Sobbing on the ice won't do it I'm sorry.
Also, kudos to the audience who very much stayed quietly on their seat.

Grand Prix de France 2023 speedrun
Smart/Dieck: love the phone choreo at the beginning/end of this program, that’s cute
Lim/Quan: they looked better this time out, good for them. Love Hannah’s costume
Lauriault/LeGac: interesting concept. Love the lift position. Had no idea Romain works as an osteopath, that’s rather impressive
Lopareva/Brissaud: firmly settling in as one of my favorite RDs this season. So fun and campy, love the choreo and arm movements
CPom: fantastic performance here, love the twizzles & transition out. With H/B out this season they’re definitely the American team I’m rooting hardest for. Looking forward to seeing how this program becomes more refined over the season. (Bonus: love Madi’s coat in the k&c)
Canadanes: if you like pretty people and quality skating, this is the team for you. So happy they had a good performance at this event!
Guignard/Fabbri: these are Some Costumes. Also a campy program, some fun jazzercize vibes. Gorgeous twizzles, wonderful speed. Idk who cut this music tho cuz the songs didn’t really work together and I would’ve used a different section of holding out for a hero for the end instead of repeating the exact same bit.

GPF Torino 22 - Fournier-Beaudry/Sorensen
Elements:
MiSt 2+3 (harsh on Lolo) | StaLi4 | Twizzles 4+4 (really good all except end, I would honestly give Nik a 3 even if the rest was flawless) | PS4 (!!!) | CRS (!!!) (+5.40 but theyre cowards for not giving them the +6)
Program: Con Los Anos Que Me Quedan, Conga
Even from the opening choreography, you can SO plainly see the difference in style and comfortability with this rhythm that Laurence and Nik showcase. Definitely among this field so far, they are the strongest Latin dancers. I know I said the JLO program was the strongest Latin RD out of IAM this year, but I meant in terms of concept. THIS program though.. Is SO gosh darn GOOD on Laurence and Nik... they are SO on top of the music, and so many of their elements are just SPOT ON!!!
In my personal opinion, they should go in front of C/B based on what they actually performed, but according to the TES box at the end of the program, they will proabably only end up with ~83 due to the over-harshness on the step level and overly-generous goe to C/B.
Score: 83.16 into 2nd
