So I now have a Tennouji Rina-branded laptop.
See, a while back, I picked up a little secondhand vinyl cutter. You've probably seen these around; the most popular is the Cricut line from Provo Crafts, which have even been sold at Target.
(Of course, Provo Crafts hate their customers, and have rendered all their machines released before 2014 into fancy bricks by not providing software to run them after the demise of Flash. So I really recommend no one purchase any of their products, but they are the biggest manufacturer in the space, so they're the ones people are familiar with as a comparison.)
My model is an early Silhouette Cameo, and worked great right from jump except for one minor problem: the O-rings on the drive shaft that help keep whatever you're cutting in place were made from a particularly bad type of rubber, and had degraded to the point of leaving black streaks on whatever material passed under them. Fortunately, someone online had identified the proper size for replacements, and today I took delivery of a new set of silicone O-rings. Installing them was pretty straightforward, so it felt like a good time to actually cut some vinyl.
Nobody here is surprised to hear that I'm very fond of Tennouji Rina of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, and one thing I've found amusing in her materials is that occasionally they'll depict her working on a laptop with her logo on the back:
It's clearly a parody of the MacBooks with the glowing Apple logo, but I've been thinking that I'd like her logo on my own laptop. Now, of course you can buy stickers and laptop vinyl clings from various places, but my laptop has a problem with just doing that: the Dell Precision M4500 doesn't have a nice, smooth cover surface for stickers. It's got these ridges across it. So there's plenty of room for a logo, but a sticker would have to either be small enough to fit between two ridges — and that's pretty small — or it'd overlap the ridges, and that'd both look sloppy and be an amazing collector of dust.
So! I took Rina's logo and created the outline of the three pieces, then aligned them so that I could take slices out of them. The recesses stay uncovered, all of the vinyl is properly attached to flat surfaces, and it generally looks nicely planned, which is the best I could hope for.
The application process went fairly well. There are a few air bubbles trapped under the vinyl, marring the surface, but that's only noticeable pretty close up, and on the whole, it's very striking-looking. And I'm pretty sure I have the only Rina-chan M4500 out there.

Was looking at my iPod Nano and thought how utterly BS it is that companies say it takes too much room to have a headphone jack.
I already thought it was BS before but the claim invariably comes down to form factor and keeping the jacks would make the device too big.
My Nano is ~5mm thick with the jack (also it's thinner than that but the glass stands out to make it thicker). That's nearly 3mm thinner than the latest iPhone and even the thinnest iPhone is over 2mm thicker.
You're telling me as components and ports shrink and boards also get smaller, it's unfeasible to do something that was done a decade ago?
It's almost as if it's not that form factor/technology doesn't allow it and it's all about selling proprietary adapters and/or Apple-brand headphones/earbuds/airpods that can be paired without a jack, and removing customer freedom.
