"The Lowest Form of Daemon"
In Warhammer 3, if you place daemonettes up against a Khorne army, they have little faction-specific barks they will say pre-battle. One of these is calling the Daemons of Khorne the "Lowest form of daemon" which is quite an insult when you consider things like imps and furies and nurglings exist.
It's probably just a throwaway line (daemonettes also make fun of Kislevites for worshipping a bear, so...) but it did get me thinking. The Khornate code is pretty much about killing and only killing, and while that might be terrifying to me or you, daemons are immortal. They just...come back when killed and it's a inconvenience to them in most cases (granted, the daemons can be absolutely Karens about it anyway).
So, as far as the daemons figure things, Khornates are probably just annoying. Outside of a few specific circumstances, they do not care about death and dying because they just come back. A Khornate killing you is functionally no different than a mortal doing it...and we know how they feel about mortals. So other daemons, Khornate daemons are probably just jumped up losers from the mortal realm who's entire portfolio is something they intrinsically do not fear and don't give a single shit about.

𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 - Slaaneshi vs Tzeentchians
Slaaneshi and Tzeentchian daemons are by far the most protean of the Chaos Daemons in regards to their physical shape. This is a consequence of their nature; Tzeentch is a God of Change and neither he or his children hold a shape for long, for they loath order and constancy. I would go so far as say they do not even have default forms, nor default names; the only thing consistent about a Change-Daemon is it's true-name and these are among the most difficult to acquire of the kinds of Daemons.
Slaanesh, too, is a God who craves variety and his daemons as well as he himself are given to trying on different forms and sloughing them off as if they were simple clothing. While Tzeentchians do it for deception, the Slaaneshi also do it for pleasure, finding certain forms more comfortable and stimulating than others. Also unlike Tzeentchians, a Slaaneshi does have a "default" or at the very least "preferred" form.
However, where the differences truly show is in the quality of the distraction. Certaintly, both Slaaneshi and Tzeentchians can fool mortal eyes with about the same level of success, but Tzeentchian guises are perfect. Slaaneshi shape-changing has a tendency to flaw, with one feature marring an otherwise perfect disguise, even for someone as powerful as N'kari, Slaanesh's most powerful Keeper of Secrets. Often, this comes in the form of small horns or something more obvious, like hooves; things that are easily hidden but flaws nonetheless.
Tzeentchians can hold their forms for longer, as well, tuning to magic instantly while even something as powerful as Keeper of Secrets must adjust themselves to rules and restrictions of a world and it's magics before trying anything too adventurous. Meanwhile, Tzeentchian lords have been known to hold guises for decades if need be.
Finally, a Slaaneshi shapeshifting can fool most other daemons, aside from it's kin and it's Tzeentchian rivals. However, a Tzeentchian Daemons guise is so perfect that it could potentially fool even another Tzeentchian Daemon.
This is likely due to the relative "solidity" of Slaaneshi daemons, more beholding a reality's rules, than the Tzeentchian daemons who are notable to be more tenuously connected to a plane of reality compared to other daemons (with Daemons of Nurgle being the most solid of the daemons) and living mayfly short existences as a result.

I do, actually! I mean, I haven't written anything for him because I'm busy with hot daddy/uncle Daemon, but I'll probably write a fic in the future.
About your question... well, they are different in many ways.
Headcanons below the cut
Their way with words
While Daemon is comfortable cursing and being generally indecent around you, Aemond is still a young man raised by his religious mom so he does care about the use of proper vocabulary. I'm not saying Daemon curses at you —not at all— just that he doesn't mind calling Otto a cunt when you're alone. You have probably learned fifty new ways to insult someone just by spending time with him, and there is nothing more liberating than drinking wine with the one you love, feeling comfortable enough to speak your mind freely. At least, that is how Daemon feels when he's with you.
Aemond, on the other hand, never curses. He despises his enemies and can be incredibly cruel —perhaps even more than Daemon— yet he always finds a way to offend other people without resorting to curse words. Perhaps he will call his enemies weak, or old, or as disgusting as cockroaches, but he will always refrain from cursing, especially in front of you, to whom he shows the absolute respect a prince must show his lady. Unless you are having sex, that is a different story.
What they call you
Daemon calls you by your name in private, sometimes my love when completely alone and intimate, and sometimes he calls you pet names. If you are a Stark he will call you his wolf, or his lioness if you're a Lannister... his dragon if you're a Targaryen just like him. He might even call you a vixen if you try to seduce him while he's otherwise occupied.
In public, he will use your name when talking to you directly, but will refer to you as his wife, princess, or queen —whichever of those titles you possess— and force others to respect you when addressing you as well.
Aemond, in private, refers to you as princess, for two reasons: first, he is a prince and you're with him, so that makes you a princess; second, it's a pet name. He is more romantic than Daemon in the traditional sense, so he will also call you the love of his life, his soulmate, and the source of his happiness. He will also call you by your name, of course.
In public, he will call you his lady wife, as he has been taught. When addressing you he will use your name, but perhaps his pet name for you, princess, might accidentally slip out every once in a while. He is similar to Daemon in that he will command everyone to address you properly, and will take great offense if anyone dares insult you —blood will be spilled—.
How they are in bed
Daemon is lustful, lewd, and obviously very experienced. He will show you and teach you things you never even dreamed of, and will always be open to trying out new things as well. His appetite is insatiable, and if it were up to him he'd spend entire days in bed with you, just fucking, resting, fucking, drinking, and fucking again. You actually do that sometimes, when you're both free. He will also get horny anywhere, and you end up fucking in the bath, in the library, at the beach, and even in the middle of the woods. Maids and servants are already used to this behavior so they leave you to it when they hear moaning and grunting coming from somewhere in the castle. He's so salacious he will even go as far as stroking your thigh under the table at dinner, even if the rest of the court is there. The man can't keep his hands to himself.
Aemond, contrary to popular belief, is absolutely inexperienced in the department. He knows how it works, Aegon took him to a brothel when he was younger and he learned the ropes, but it wasn't a pleasant experience and he hasn't been back since. So when he's with you, you end up being the one that shows the most interest in carnal desires, at least initially. He wants you, and he wants to have you and to claim you, but as passionate as he is about it, it will be you that will blow his mind when you kneel in front of him to undo his breeches or when you take charge and ride him until he's spent. Soon he understands why so many men spend their nights in brothels: sex is a pleasure and he wants it as well... with you. He had always called Aegon a degenerate for only thinking about women and fucking, but he now finds himself in a similar situation in which he can't stop thinking about you during the day and counts the hours until he's free from his duties to go to your bed and make you his once again. You will show him how much pleasure he can feel with you, and briefly, you will tame the dragon.

Thank you so much for your kind words!
Okay, so genderfluid!Rhaenyra started out as a solution to a practical problem. The original idea for AAS was an Alicent that leaned more conservative with a Rhaenyra that leaned more liberal. I knew I wanted Rhaenyra to be nonbinary in some way (bc I find Emma D'arcy sexy, I'm shallow like that), but I didn't want Alicent to misgender them in every single chapter, so I decided to make them genderfluid in order for the she/her pronouns to apply.
Of course afterwards I had to dig deeper in the character and their backstory to fully portray them, so let me share some Rhaenyra headcanons with you:
They knew something was different about them from a very young age, but when they talked about it with Aemma she reassured them that every young "girl" feels this way sometimes and that it was just a phase, so they basically suppressed that side of themselves until college.
They thought they were a trans man at first, but it didn't quite fit them and they didn't know why. (one of the reasons they dropped it quickly was that Daemon used to call them "nephew" in the sleaziest voice possible)
They've been with Laenor since high school. Laenor found them attractive only sometimes and was very confused about it.
They were initially very hesitant in assuming a genderfluid identity, because they thought it was "too much" since they had already accepted they were pansexual and polyamorous (they were like, "what the fuck, Rhaenyra, are you collecting labels?"). But then they realised that if they were gonna go against the flow, they might as well do it as their most authentic self.
They've actually tried to do the jewellery pronouns thing, but they forgot to put on the bracelets all the time, so it wasn't of much use. (and people generally use second person in everyday face-to-face conversations, so eh)

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey. Mmmmmmm, so tumblr didn’t tell me this was here???? I have no idea how long ago you sent this, but with my luck it’s probably been like a month or something. Sorry! DX
SO. Thalassa thoughts.
Actually, you remember awhile back that stupid long post where we were throwing around ideas about the Chocobros’ Educational Historical Roadtrip™ and I mentioned the bros running into an escaped MT clone named Aster? Well I been thinkin’ thoughts about other ex-MTs that have been smuggled out through the Currents.
It was sorta loosely implied that the escaped MTs remain involved in the Currents network somehow. My reasoning for this is that - at least in the very beginning - no one outside the Nif labs really knows whats up with the process of MT-making and Sketchy Human Experimentation usually leads to Very Bad Health Complications if one is not careful. So. Gotta keep track of all the MT escapees, clone or otherwise, because these people were not liberated to die.
Because of this, the ex-MTs are also able to keep track of each other. They form their own sort of support group because their liberators are great, don’t get them wrong, but they don’t get it. (Also, Found Family troupe for the win!)
So meet some our ex-MT friends!

Lily:
- She’s a clone, but she decided pretty early on the she was a She™ - partly because it put some distance between her and the weapon she was being forged into, partly because Thalassa was part of her rescue party and she was like ‘imma be her when i grow up’, but mostly because when someone finally got around to explaining to this bby!person what the heck gender was, she’d already been thinking of herself that way just without the mainstream labels.
- She absolutely grows her hair out long and usually wears it in a single long braid, but she loves figuring out new hairstyles and braids. Digna (the Galahdian hunter from the above mentioned long post who is buddies with Aster), is the one who taught her to braid her hair. It is her favorite thing and she finds it very relaxing to do her hair or others’.
- Badass hunter who is a fantastic sharp shooter who also happens to carry a stupid amount of knives on her person. She has excellent aim.
- Is the second ex-MT to meet the Chocobros. Aster sends them in her general direction and they run across her mid-hunt and see her snipe some Scourge-infested animals.
- Lily is contracted to several medical facilities that are devoted to finding a medical cure to the Scourge. Part of this involves tracking and capturing samples (such as Scourge-infested animals).
- Lily adopts Prompto on sight and glories in her role as older sister (she’s ~26 during canon events) and ends up giving him access to what is basically the ex-MT discord channel.
- Her username is FlowerGirl.
- Gives the Chocobros some insight to what she went through learning to be a person and gives Prompto her own story of escaping the labs when he asks.
Topaz:
- He’s an older gen clone. My headcanon for the MT process is that it isn’t completed until the clones are 18, at which point the process is irreversible because everything that was a person has been turned into a daemon. Topaz was rescued when he was 17 (He’s 34 during canon events). He’s essentially a terminal Scourge patient.
- Wheelchair bound due to his condition. His eyes are red and also glow in the dark. He is also bald, mostly because he just doesn’t want to deal with it. Is super pale because sunlight is Very Bad for him.
- Loves going outside even though he can’t do it often. Basically only when it’s overcast, but he takes it every chance he gets. He insists outside air smells better and he wants to at least feel the wind on his face if he won’t ever feel the sun.
- Likes to storm watch.
- Loves Soft Things. He has so many knit hats and blankets. So many.
- Lives at one of the medical facilities devoted to finding a cure. Even if he’s too far gone to help, he can at least do his part to make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else. He’s the longest living late stage MT rescue and that means something to him. If his condition will help the Currents get more of his siblings out, he’ll do whatever he can.
- Is perpetually tired older brother figure.
- Discord username is PleaseLetMeSleep.
Ekko:
- One of the younger clones, rescued when they were ~7. About 17 during canon events. They/them pronouns.
- Stupidly smart. Especially about computer things. Is the one who created and programmed the MT discord app when they were 10. Has basically encrypted it so only Mods (who have all been thoroughly vetted) can add new members. Grants them access to whatever device has the app. Lily does not tell Prompto and co this.
- Lives with Topaz. Part-time researcher for the medical facility. Doesn’t tell Topaz but they are determined to find a cure for him.
- Sibling designation: Little Shit.
- Has hacked the Nif government at least 16 times. (That Topaz knows of.)

Hello Irascible about the blackfyres I remember a theory Maelys tried to wipe out all his relatives permanently burning their bridges by sacking Tyrosh their old palace and killing any he could find with the name. Your thoughts?
Hello, clear! Thanks for the question, and the patience you showed in waiting for my answer :)
I remember a similar theory that has Maelys kill the other male Blackfyres and frankly, I think it’s incorrect. Yandel has a vested interest in depicting the Blackfyres as irredeemable monsters, and Maelys gets a double dose of dehumanization for also being disabled (having the two heads caused by troubles in his mother’s womb). Yandel brings up Maelys’ killing of Captain-General Daemon Blackfyre in combat as proof of “his savage nature;” fetus!Maelys is also demonized for “consuming his twin in the womb” which is something he had no control over; surely if he had killed more male Blackfyres, Yandel would’ve mentioned that to discredit him (and his family to a lesser extent) as violent warmongers even further. Thus I believe Captain-General Daemon was the only relative Maelys killed; the rest of the male Blackfyres may have been killed in battle, taken vows of celibacy via joining the Faith, or even taken on their wives’ names (as Tyrosh is somewhat implied to be matrilineal considering their city structure) which is why Maelys is called the last one. I might also add that Maelys killing all of the Blackfyres doesn’t make much sense from a dynastic standpoint because he had no heirs of his body; considering that Maelys may very well have been infertile and there is no mention of him being married, he would’ve needed to adopt one of his Blackfyre relatives if he was serious about pressing his claim (tbh there’s no firm evidence that he was; since the title Maelys I could’ve meant Stepstone king and he never got the chance to reach Westeros before dying). I dislike the “Maelys killed all the Blackfyres” theory because it demonizes both the Blackfyres and Maelys (again, a disabled man) in particular; anti-Blackfyre people often spread theories like these in order to justify the Targaryen’s brutal treatment of their family (violating the most ancient laws of hospitality and kinship in their culture just to kill these men). Maelys is the focal point of these theories because he’s the only Blackfyre we know of who is canonically ultra-violent, and is repeatedly dehumanized in canon in an incredibly ableist manner.
I’d like to make an important note about Tyrosh under the cut:
Tyrosh is the only one of the Quarrelsome Daughters to have never been conquered or sacked (until Maelys and the Band of Nine in 258AC). Despite Yandel telling us that arms are less respected than trade in Tyrosh, he has shown that island has a strong history of martial pursuits; it was founded as a military outpost; its male citizens are scattered throughout the known world as both sailors and sellswords. The Volantenes conquered Lys and Myr with ease during the Century of Blood, but the Tyroshi resisted their rule with the help of the Pentoshi (and Lord Aegon Targaryen plus King Argilac Durrandon) and in so doing caused the collapse of the Empire of Volantis. Furthermore, despite “six years of hard fighting” the forces fighting to restore the Archon only won after Alequo Adarys’ wife poisoned her husband, and this was long after his allies in the Band of Nine were defeated.You mean to tell me that this martially-inclined city, who fought off a mighty empire for over a century when its sister cities spent 200 years under its rule, and who had the fortifications to withstand a 6-year siege without allies and was only liberated due to the assassination of the enemy leader by his own wife, was defeated in less than a year by a few pirate fleets and sellsword companies? Yeah, I don’t buy it. I believe with Tyrosh’s defenses and island position, it would’ve been nearly impossible to take it by sea…without inside help, that is. This theory is obviously veering into headcanon territory, but I believe Maelys and the Golden Company, due to keeping some aspects of Westerosi culture, were anti-slavery and promised to outlaw slavery if the slaves helped take the city. These slaves, three times the size of the free population, formed the basis of the Adarys’ regime’s support.
Alequo Adarys (I’m not going to say that Adarys was undoubtedly a Blackfyre, although he was clearly had a Valyrian name) was called “the Tyrant,” which considering the ancient Greek/Roman/Phoenician-inspired culture of Tyrosh, likely just meant he was an influential opportunist who claimed ultimate power in the polis by unconventional means (read: he was not ““elected”” by the wealthiest men of the city). In particular, tyrants had the support of the lower classes who preferred them to the aristocrats, and often maintained control through foreign mercenaries. (Plato’s Republic even describes the tyrant as removing the elites thus filling his council with mercenaries and freedmen. oh no!) The idea that Maelys and Alequo Adarys had the support of the Tyroshi freedmen and slaves makes sense to me since the Faith considers slavery an abomination (even in canon-era, the Golden Company does not support slavery and allows known slave fugitives to join their ranks) and it’s likely that the Westerosi exiles had to marry into the Tyroshi middle class for rebellions like Maelys’ to continue. It’s also an interesting counterpoint to Dany’s quest to free the slaves in Slaver’s Bay; why do we see the abolition as heroic when spearheaded by a pretty teenaged girl, but it becomes tyrannical and ultra-violent when a disabled middle-aged man does?

the  second  eldest  son  of  daemon  and  alarra,  he  possessed  an  elder  brother  named  monford,  a  younger  half - brother  by  the  name  of  aurane  waters,  and  a  younger  brother  and  sister  after  him.  monford  perishes  during  robert’s  rebellion  (  with  their  father  daemon  soon  following  in  death  a  few  years  later  ),  and  monford’s  son,  monterys,  perishes  alongside  aurane  waters  during  the  war  of  the  five  kings,  leaving  a  nephew  by  monford  entitled  jacaerys  beneath  the  care  of  aethan.  as  aethan  held  no  heirs  of  his  own,  jacaerys  was  swiftly  taken  in  and  considered  his  son.  the  lord  of  the  tides  and  master  of  driftmark  at  only  sixteen,  aethan  was  forced  to  arm  himself  with  a  man’s  duties  and  abilities  rather  early  in  life.  his  house’s  council  urged  him  to  seek  a  wife  in  order  to  possess  an  heir  of  his  own,  but  aethan  was  occupied  with  his  nephew  (  adopted  son  ),  and  securing  a  future  for  his  remaining  brother  and  sister.
when  house  baratheon  fell,  aethan  knew  it  was  only  a  matter  of  time  before  the  lannisters  and  their  forces  would  move  on  driftmark.  arranging  a  deal  with  the  north  as  well  as  their  remaining  baratheon  allies,  aethan  managed  to  secure  an  escape  for  his  brother,  sister,  and  adopted  son.  unbeknownst  to  him,  however,  jacaerys  had  abscond  from  the  ship  before  it  left  port  and  remained  at  driftmark  upon  the  arrival  of  lannister  forces,  wishing  to  fight  alongside  his  adoptive  father.  refusing  to  bend  the  knee  or  aid  their  cause,  having  been  a  supporter  of  stannis  beforehand,  aethan  was  arrested  and  imprisoned  (  though  slew  a  fair  amount  of  opposing  forces  including  members  of  the  kingsguard  before  he  and  jacaerys  were  overcome  ),  and  forced  to  witness  the  brutal  murder  of  jacaerys,  a  boy  of  only  thirteen  before  being  stolen  from  his  seat  at  driftmark.  tortured  for  a  time  while  holding  the  knowledge  he  would  be  beheaded,  the  battle  of  the  crownlands  would  become  his  liberation.  with  the  aid  of  targaryen  forces  he  was  freed,  immediately  arming  himself  and  joining  their  cause.  at  the  end  of  the  battle,  driftmark  was  once  again  in  the  hands  of  house  velaryon  where  a  war - torn  family  could  be  united,  though  aethan  remains  unforgiving,  and  has  been  since  the  day  he  lost  jacaerys.
within  the  vaults  of  high  tide,  a  black  &&  gold  dragon  egg  resides.  as  a  boy,  aethan  would  sit  for  hours  with  the  egg  in  his  lap  in  hopes  of  its  hatching,  but  soon  forgot  the  dream  as  time  bled  onward  to  reveal  darker  and  more  pressing  matters  for  his  house.  however,  with  daenerys’  return  to  dragonstone  && dragons  of  her  own,  he’s  been  reminded  of  the  egg’s  existence  and  what  it  may  become  of  it.
aethan  has  taught  the  entirety  of  his  family  how  to  fight  (  as  well  as  educated  them  in  general  ).  as  it  was  always  something  he  believed  in,  and  necessary  as  house  velaryon  became  outnumbered  and  stood  alone,  he  is  a  firm  believer  of  bearing  the  knowledge  of  combat,  as  you  can  only  depend  on  yourself  in  the  end.
the  prospect  of  marriage  is  a  sour  topic�� for  aethan.  firmly  believing  his  son  was  jacaerys,  aethan  holds  no  desire  for  marriage  or  children  of  his  own,  believing  that  dream  died  alongside  his  adopted  son.  the  remainder  of  his  life,  as  he  sees  it,  will  be  spent  on  vengeance  and  protecting  the  remainder  of  his  family.
the  velaryon  ancestral  blade,  leviathan,  was  broken  during  robert’s rebellion,  a  valyrian  greatsword  with  a  hilt  comprised  of  sea  green  jewels,  but  was  reforged  by  aethan  upon  taking  his  seat  as  master  of  driftmark.  since  then,  he  has  wielded  it  proudly  and  has  fought  with  it  during  every  battle.
his  father,  daemon,  was  a  cruel  man,  slaughtered  by  aethan  and  his  younger  brother  when  they  grew  tired  of  seeing  their  family  traumatized  by  his  wrath.  besting  the  man  in  a  duel,  aethan  beheaded  him  and  tossed  his  body  off  the  highest  point  of  driftmark’s  second  castle  known  as  high  tide,  into  the  sea.

Hi! I am interested to hear your headcanons for Ardyn's and Gilgamesh's relationship as healer King and shield. Friends? Trouble makers? or only together because of duty? :-) You always have such detailed thoughts.
Yeah, it’s really intriguing to see Gilgamesh’s story unfold through subtle hints in the game, and it’s kinda cool how such an iconic character of the game managed to wiggle its way in in such an interesting way to the story! Like, I remember reading the original Epic of Gilgamesh in one of my college classes. And, ironically enough, the story deals with themes of immortality vs mortality, redemption, modesty, and other elements that we see in Cor’s tale and even Ardyn’s tale. It’s pretty cool, and definitely worth the read. Or, at least, a summary look over. :D
But I can probably give you a few headcanons about Ardyn and Gilgamesh, because it’d definitely be interesting to discuss! So sit back and enjoy. I’m breaking this down into a general story headcanon, as well as more silly detailed thoughts behind these two as well!
The Epic of Gilgamesh… And Ardyn – FFXV 2000 Years Ago Headcanons
Once Upon a Time…
Two thousand years ago, the founder king – the first king of all Lucis – had decided that it was Gilgamesh would would become the king’s shield. A seasoned war veteran of the Great War of Old, a survivor as Lucis and the other kingdoms began to rise into power.
You figured that you would pick someone who was close to the king for the task, but no. The king was a man of very aloof mannerisms. Despite being kind to his kingdom, he never really established any solid relations. Thus, the advisors bestowed the king with Gilgamesh’s watchful eye.
Needless to say, however, Gilgamesh was far from pleased when he witnessed the king in his glory. Running about the markets with Gilgamesh being forced to track him down, flirting with the locals, etc… This man was to become king?
The negotiations to establish and settle with the man, Ardyn Lucis Caelum, as king was soon put on hold as the threat of the lingering Starscourge from Ifrit’s plague had began to threaten Eos.
Though the task could have been passed to anyone else, it was the chosen first king, Ardyn, who offered himself as the martyr to cure the Scourge alongside the chosen convoy of the Astrals, the Oracle.
Gilgamesh, as to remain loyal to the king, followed Ardyn’s steps and accompanied him along the journey to cure the scourge. Despite him being the protector of the king, Ardyn earned Gilgamesh’s loyalty.
However, as their journey continued onward, tragedy followed after. Soldiers who remained loyal to the Solheim empire did not take kindly to a new king that claimed his own kingdom.
They forced the king, the oracle, and the shield to the Tempered Grounds. But after fighting valiantly, they attempted to escape. With too many of them still there, it would be impossible to escape and be safe from these foes later on.
Thus, Gilgamesh commanded the others to escape. To flee and leave the enemies to the Blademaster. Despite Ardyn’s refusal, Gilgamesh told him that its was his duty to protect the king – no matter what the cost was.
Ardyn reluctantly agreed, but gave Gilgamesh one last command that remained eternally bound to the Blademaster – to fight and to live. Gilgamesh made his vow to Ardyn’s word. And with his close friend, the creature Enkidu, he descended back into the Tempered Grounds.
The Blademaster fought endlessly against the soldiers, obeying Ardyn’s command. However, it was soon became overwhelmed, injured in critical condition. But nevertheless, every foe was slain before the Blademaster finally fell.
And eventually, he was reborn. The Starscourge infecting the Blademaster and his strength of will to uphold Ardyn’s command twisted him into a daemon? No… Not quite. Sentient, powerful, alive. Gilgamesh kept his promise to Ardyn.
However, Gilgamesh found himself unable to leave his grave sight, unable to see the king once again for his fate was perhaps all the same to others. So he remained there in the hallowed grounds where men fight for true power – challenging those who are worthy enough to prove their right as the King’s Shield.
Because nobody was as devoted to their king like Gilgamesh was.
The Bonds of Man
The two, I imagine, probably didn’t start off on the best footing. Gilgamesh was a hardened young veteran, perhaps changed in his ways as a result of the war, while Ardyn was a young man who was born into privilege and rarely had to pick between duty and indulgence.
Gilgamesh probably disliked Ardyn for that, a bit annoyed over the fact that Ardyn didn’t take his job seriously. He was going to become king, and Gilgamesh could only watch him run about and slack off?
It was only when Gilgamesh began to learn that Ardyn was allowing himself to have some fun before devoting himself to the task of King with full attention that Gilgamesh finally let up. He was still a bit of a hard-ass around Ardyn, but he still managed to lighten up sometimes.
Ardyn liked to tease Gilgamesh alot, especially with how Gilgamesh looked. He didn’t look awful, mind you. In fact, Ardyn would tease him because of how beautiful Gilgamesh was (trust me, the original Gilgamesh was a beaut from how always seemed to point it out). The OG pretty boy.
Not gonna lie, I wouldn’t be surprised if these two were close. Not just close friends. But close. It was a far more liberal time back then too. I mean, seriously too – if Gilgamesh died for his king then came back because of his loyalty to Ardyn, that’s true love right there.
Or true bromance. However you wanna view it.
I have a feeling that Enkidu was Gilgamesh’s companion creature as well. Kind of like how you see Ardyn on his black chocobo, Gilgamesh found his own ‘chocobo’ of sorts. A beast that Gilgamesh tamed and one almost as strong as he was too.
In case you didn’t remember, Enkidu’s the bird thing that Gladio fights. The one that he jumps on top of and punches?
Ardyn probably teased Gilgamesh about his bond with Enkidu. “Are you ever going find yourself a woman to settle with?” Gilgamesh just stares with a blank expression as he continues playing with Enkidu. He doesn’t need ladies when he’s got his birb. And Ardyn.
Ardyn definitely liked to have more fun that Gilgamesh did, and the two argued about it often whenever it came to their detours and paths. Ardyn wanted to venture everywhere while Gilgamesh was very precise about their course of action.
The Oracle would only laugh in the background to herself. Just like an old married couple.
But despite Gilgamesh trying to be Ardyn’s voice of reason and protector, he would get into the same antics as Ardyn would. Their most infamous being the Chocobo racing incident back in Lucis.
Gilgamesh was an awful loser and refused to let himself lose to Ardyn – which unfortunately resulted in the two nearly destroying the entire marketplace as Gilgamesh though that Enkidu would have been faster than a chocobo of all things. He was wrong.
Ardyn and Gilgamesh are often friendly rivals with each other, with Gilgamesh always trying to prove his worth to Ardyn and Ardyn just enjoying the idea of making Gilgamesh lose his temper. So it was usually challenge after challenge with one another.
All while the Oracle probably took bets and pocketed a little bit of profit for herself over these rivalries.
But nevertheless, it was Gilgamesh that taught Ardyn to wield many different types of weapons. Swords, bows and arrows, axes, one time stealing the Oracle’s trident to practice with that as well. Gilgamesh tried to teach Ardyn all of it.
And one thing that Gilgamesh took pride in was that Ardyn never won in a sparring match against him. He was just too good, and Ardyn hated how skilled he was with a blade. No man had ever defeated Gilgamesh, and no man ever would until Gladiolus appeared.
Never said that a woman didn’t beat him, however. That woman was the oracle they traveled with, and the woman that taught Gilgamesh to never let appearances of people fool them. And that women fight dirty.
Gilgamesh was a tall pretty boy though, and Ardyn teased him alot about it. But it came in handy once when Gilgamesh wasn’t allowed by Ardyn’s side when visiting the kingdom of Niflheim when first trying to find a cure for the scourge.
To combat the policy of unwanted soldiers in the kingdom, Gilgamesh masqueraded as a woman once, hiding his important weapons underneath his dress and pretending to be Ardyn’s wife.
Ardyn laughed for days about it, but Gilgamesh refuses to speak of the situation. Though he does admit, women have a tactical advantage with such free leg movement.
The two disagree alot with one another, but they still proved to be good friends with one another, which made Gilgamesh’s sacrifice all the harder for Ardyn. Perhaps after Gilgamesh’s sacrifice, he didn’t make many friends afterwards. It was quite lonely times afterwards…
Ardyn sometimes finds himself standing before the Tempered Grounds, but unable to go inside and find the bones of his old and loyal ally amongst the man that died down there. Perhaps it was for the best.
Little did he know that the two immortal souls remained connected, just hoping that perhaps one day, their release from their immortality will come to fruition so they can reunite with their old friend once again.

             I wish to further discuss more of the strange weapon the immortal uses in most encounters, those who engage with the brute seem to recognise the fiend-inspired tone, with its various hideous sharp protrusions manifested of twisted combination of organic and inorganic material, and most uncanny that accursed eye centred in the gigantic blade. Aspects of the weapon, mostly distinct at end of its length, embodies certain symbolism of religious and aesthetic associations.
               The three rings at the length are striking familiar to the traditional monk staffs, and their conceptual framework and followers explaining thoughts. A number of rings represent different aspects; ordinarily, they would consist of four noble truths, six perfections, the twelvefold chain of effects, since there are six holes we must consider that design follows the six practices of perfection. However, the evidence of the complete effacing of the separate three rings is felt gravely open to doubt, we can infer so much information from wide gaping shapes. Aspects of the general design of the strange weapon follow principal functions akin to monk staff or khakkhara.
❝ a six ring khakkhara is carried by a Bodhisattva, and a twelve ring khakkhara is carried by the Buddha. Most commonly seen are those with six rings which have also been claimed to represent the six states of existence (humans, animals, hell, hungry ghosts, gods, and asuras) .❞
To become a buddha, a bodhisattva has to practise six perfections:
the perfection of giving (dana paramita)
the perfection of morality (shila-paramita)
the perfection of patience (kshanti-paramita)
the perfection of energy (virya-paramita)
the perfection of meditation (dhyana-paramita)
the perfection of wisdom (prajna-paramira)
            It is with faith the practice of traditional accustoms of freeing from obstruction by liberating oneself, mentally and spiritually, to attain enlightenment, from earthly bound possessions, to whereby the conscious achieves a greater understanding of emptiness the inherent existence of all things. 
          But note the peculiar properties of Caius Ballad's sword; He has three rings on one side, and three openings on the other end of the blade, in strange regressions In the shape of coarse tears.These openings gradually get larger further from the adjacent rings. This could only mean his soul perhaps distorted, twisted beyond comprehension. As a bodhisattva is someone who could possibly achieve enlightenment yet, nonetheless, must remain here owing to their compassion.  One particular close associate of mine has made the speculation that the 3 rings represent the good spectrum  the angel half is the guardian side, blessed by Etro, whilst the three various openings and the daemon wing  symbolises his madness and attachment deteriorated him into what is to be seen in FFXIII-2
Fun fact : The rings , may perhaps, stand for the Three Winged Chaos Bahamuts. The Japanese names of the three Winged Chaos Bahamuts are translated from latin as; Bahamut Volo - volo means  “fly, will”, Bahamut Passio - Passio means “passion”, and Bahamut Ratio - means “reason”. Which still falls under the six paths for Caius Ballads sword headcanon.

King Cleaver is one of the Blood God's many aspects, a more beastly depiction of the Blood God. It is an older depiction of Khorne hailing from the earliest days of the Beastmen, though in more recent times, King Cleaver has gained a following among men as well. The Aspect was created by related splinter-groups of Beastmen called the Butcherherds, Khornate Warbands of Beastmen. In Beastmen society, Horns are enormously important; to lose them or simply be born without them guarantees one a permanent lack of rank throughout ones life. However, the Butcherherds put emphasis on tusks as being just as worthy of renown as a good, impressive pair of horns. This departure from social norms led to disagreement and fighting, but eventually tusk-bearing Beastmen would carve their place in society with their weapons, their claws, and their tusks of course. To develop prominent tusks with or instead of Horns is thereafter known as being 'blessed by the King of Cleavers' and a beastmen who has them, but not horns, can still rise high in Brayherd society. King Cleaver himself is a porcine deity, said to resemble a monstrous boar, with a majestic if hellish-array of tusks and teeth. He had black, metallic fur and fought with a signature weapon called the Great Cleaver. The Cleaver is bigger than the King himself and by all accounts he should not be able to lift it, yet does and with ease, using the awful toothed blade to rend heads from shoulders. King Clever most closely resembles a daemonic Deodon or Enteledon, and also wears the monikers Bloodboar and Hell Pig.
"King Cleaver" is an avatar of Khorne revealed in Age of Sigmar.

Generally speaking, the gender skew of chaos worshippers leans male and only leans further in that direction the higher up the hierarchy you climb. This is especially true for Khorne, God of War and Lord of Murder, for War and Murder are primarily masculine domains. However, it would be false to say Khorne's followers are completely bereft of female presence, even taking Queen Valkia into consideration.
It would even be false to call Khorne a purely masculine god for while it is true that the Blood God's many aspects are sharply male in their presentation, there is one who is not and that is the Brass Belladona. The Brass Belladona is an aspect of Khorne worshipped by the Brass Sisters, a Marauding group of women founded by a Southerner named Maegin.
According to the visions seen within the battle-highs of slaying the enemy and drinking their blood, the Belladona is a large, hyenoid creature resembling the spotted carrion dogs of Araby. Her snout is a bloody thing of bone and sinew with massive brass fangs. She is a broad-bodied beast encased in night-black armor scored in red-runes. From her skinless muzzle drips bright red venom that drives any who comes in contact with it into a furious blood-rage. The Belladona has sharp, shoed hooves and a ridge of ruddy fur runs down her neck. In one gauntlet, she carries a weapon that is axe as much as mace and often does she lave her tongue over the weapon, making it venomous. Some say it was Hashut himself who gifted her this axe. The Belladona sits atop a mountain of brassed bones and skulls, of foe and friend alike, and where possible her followers dip their skull trophies in metal or, failing that, dyes before offering them.
As the sisters headed north, they brought their particular spin on Khornate worship with them; some remained in the civilized worlds to propagate their God's edicts via cults, while others hunted down and slew the Northerners who had created them in the first place. Not for vengeance, at least not primarily, but a simple love of battle.
While some more "mainstream" Khornates sneer at this slight dogleg of interpretation regarding Khorne, others have met the Brass Sisters and battled them. They have seen evidence of their Lord's blessing upon these warrior women. The Belladona warps her chosen into lycan-adjacent forms similar to skin wolves, but instead of wolves they resemble grotesque hyena abominations with tawny, ruddy, or even brass fur. These monsters are called Skullgnawers and they bear the mark of Khorne in some form or fashion.
Other, more mundane worshipers of the Belladona often poison their weapons in the manner of their god. They use a variety of poisons, but deadly nightshade is the most valued. This same poison is ingested in smaller amounts in order to produce the delirium that supposedly connects a warrior to the Belladona (or kills them, as is the Belladona's whim).
In the modern age, the Brass Belladona is acknowledged readily by all genders of Khornate worshipper, though usually as a minor aspect. There are stronger notions of kinship and blood ties among this sect of Khornate worshippers, with values such as loyalty and honesty elevated alongside savagery and martial might. There is some debate among the tribes as to the exact identity of the Belladona, with most claiming that she is an aspect of Khorne directly while others, namely men who cannot resolve the feminine nature of the deity with the largely male view of Khorne himself, claiming the Brass Belladona is the daughter of Khorne.
Kharkhsyk is the specific name of this manifestation ( and A'khsdóttir the name for those who subscribe to the Belladona being the scion of Khorne rather than Khorne himself)
Like Hyenas, tribes that worship the Brass Belladona tend to be led by women and those women are very commonly warped in some way by chaos. It is sometimes said that only the Belladonic Clans give birth to true men and women of Khorne.
The Brass Belladona is an aspect of Khorne mentioned in Age of Sigmar's Khornate Battletomes.

HC: The Chaos Fury
Chaos Furies (Daemonicus Corvus / X'orha'rooku's ) are a type of Chaos Daemon and one of the most numerous in the warp. They are stray shards of emotions given form and while they may come to serve one chaos power or the other for a time depending on how power shifts in the warp, Furies are independent daemons in truth. They are immeasurably ancient, perhaps even moreso than the gods, but their age affords them no clemency as daemons respect power above all else. With no patron backing them, Furies are considered fair game by both daemons and mortals and utilized for everything from battle fodder to food.
More than one daemonologist and scholar have compared them to the Skaven, even going so far to deem them the Ratmen of the Warp.
Physiology

Furies are man-sized daemons, though many have a perpetual hunch that makes them appear smaller. They have claws, two wings, and shaggy manes that begin at the backs of their heads. Their actual faces vary, but are vaguely draconic nature, crowned with two or more vestigial horns. They have large, bat-like ears and multiple eyes, most of which are situated on the side of the head. This is similar to many prey animals on earth as opposed to the forwards facing eyes of predatory creatures. Unaligned chaos furies can be black, grey, ashen red, or tawny in coloration. Otherwise, they reflect the colors of their patron.
Though weak compared to Lesser Daemons, the average Chaos fury can physically outmatch most mortals and often sent to assassinate rivals by daemonologists. A Fury's essence is simple and inconsequential. This means manifesting into the material world is easier for them than most daemons, whether this be at the behest of a summoner or by their own devising. Consequentially, Furies are among the most common daemons to exist in the world at any given time.
Chaos Furies are prone to mutations, moreso than other chaos daemons, so the above description is more of a template than a rule. These mutations may be random, but may just as well be influenced by whichever god is currently in ascendency.
Behavior & Ecology
A consequence of being relegated to the bottom of a given food chain, Furies are cowardly and cruel. They almost never attack prey unless they are sure they have the advantage, in which case they will kill their victims slowly and in the most painful manner they can devise. Rather than fight directly, they prefer to hover over battlefields and eat the dead and dying when the victors have left at last. The only way to fend off a Fury is to turn and fight it, as prey willing to fight back may lead the daemon to believe it isn't as weak as originally determined.
Aligned Daemons
Furies regard aligned daemons with a mixture of awe, terror, and of course envy and resentment. They are easily subjugated by even the Lesser of Daemons and are utterly subservient to the will of any of the Chaos Gods. A Fury begins its existence barely sapient and with little in the way of conscious thought, though as it falls under the sway of this or that patron, it comes away each time with a sliver of it's masters vast intelligence. Of the four, Tzeentch makes the most use of the Furies as spies and messengers and Furies who find themselves in his thrall frequently are cunning and cruel indeed.
Other Furies
The Fury is a gregarious daemon and it is uncommon to see one alone. These creatures travel in flocks of one or two dozen, though larger groups of hundreds or even thousands have been recorded, typically around a large food source. There is a hierarchy within flocks, especially when it comes to matters of food, with the strongest Furies receiving the choicest share of flesh and souls. Dominant Furies may ally in order to maintain their position within the flock, but this accord is temporary as eventually, one of these dominants will turn into a Chaos Virago should their good fortune with hunting, fighting, and avoiding stronger daemons allow it. Viragos will consume the remaining dominants, tolerating no potential challenge to it's power.
A flock of Furies led by a Virago is much different than a Flock led by another Fury or coalition of Furies. Viragos are more audacious than their smaller kin and this relative bravery inspires it's fellow furies into acts of daring they would never entertain otherwise. Viragos are intelligent and often pledge themselves and their flock to the service of one of the gods in a bid for more power and influence. From here, they rise into the ranks of the Lesser Daemons.
Daemon Beasts
Chaos Furies can develop a mutualistic relationship of sorts with the Beasts of Chaos belonging to the other gods. The circling of furies overhead means food and prey below, something daemon-beasts understand well. Though weaker, Furies are often smarter than Flesh Hounds or even Fiends of Slaanesh and will lead them to enemies. When the foe is killed, the Furies will scavenge what is left after the battle.
Niche Rivals: Harpies
Harpies are the rivals of Furies, being fellow children of chaos blessed with the ability of flight. These two monsters of chaos have overlapping territory ranges and hunting grounds, and so commonly come into conflict. Harpies look down on Furies for their cowardice and Furies sneer at Harpies for their status as mere mortals. However, as well as being rivals, Harpies and Furies have a secondary type of relationship. As an entirely female species, Harpies are known to carry off men, elves, and beastmen to their roosts to spawn more of their retched kind. They will use Furies, bewitched by their siren songs, for this purpose as well.

Daemons of Chaos: “Family” Ties
Nurglish Daemons

A family and explicit about it. They refer to Nurgle as their father and to their lesser daemons as brothers and children. Minimal infighting. Nurglish daemons can often be found in their tallybands singing songs about bubos and disease. Family connections and affection does not preclude typical daemon behavior, such as cannibalism. Emotional ties between daemons are common and Plaguekin will not only avenge their siblings, but treat for their quick and immediate restoration to physical form by offering instead the souls of their killer to Grandfather Nurgle.
Khornate Daemons

Khornate daemons regard each other as a curious mix of brother and rival. Infighting is not only common but encouraged, expected even, between Daemons of similar rank. Strong honor culture-- sibling ties based on affection are rare and that affection will not preclude challenges to the death. Khornate daemons are power interested and will covet the positions of those above them in power. However, they will not use underhanded means to attain these positions. Khornate brotherhoods usually begin as honor-bound pacts and it is these agreements forged in blood and fire that inform their loyalties to one another.
Slaaneshi Daemons

Slaaneshi daemons tend to dislike one another, but this rarely results in physical infighting. Slaanesh’s kingdom is a court, one full of intrigue and gossip and every daemon is in competition with every other daemon to be favored. When violence does happen, it’s quick and discreet; most daemonettes and keepers of secrets cannot stand each other, as noted in several sources across the lore, though sisterhoods are known to happen. For instance, the two Daemonettes who discovered the killing potential of the Hellflayer. That being said, Daemonettes will viciously defend their siblings from non-Slaaneshi. In classic sibling fashion, intra-family fighting is fine, but two Slaaneshi will put aside their differences mid-fight if an foreign third party tries to intervene.
Tzeentchian Daemons

Much like the Slaaneshi, their infighting takes the form of scheming and lying. Tzeentchians acknowledging their kinship to one another, but it hardly inspires any kind of loyalty. A tzeentchian will betray a sibling to a non-daemon and only cares for it’s own power. Other Tzeentchians are rivals and threats, either distant or immediate, and only slated to be neutralized. To an extent they feel this about Tzeentch himself. Of the chaos gods, Tzeentch deals with the most traitors and turncoats. Naturally; he is the Lord of Lies, Master of Schemes and Deceit, and his children are formed of him.

Situated in the ever-changing, roiling wastes of the Chaos Realms, the Forge of Souls is a unique sub-realm within the aethyr. It is not controlled by any of the primary Chaos Gods. Daemons and damned mortals of all stripes eek out a living here, though they too have no allegiance to the Great Four.
Though nominally neutral, the Chaos God Hashut holds significant sway on this island in the warp. While he has his own realm, some whisper that the Forge of Souls is an "outpost" of sorts, constructed among the Realms of the Gods so that the Bull-father might do business with the Ruinous Powers just as his mortal followers deal arms to the mortal hordes and legions of chaos.
The Greater Daemon Hashtorr the Arcanite is the undisputed major power within the Forge of Souls. Hashut is his master; he is a K'daii, but one unbound to machinery as one might see on the mortal plane. A great fiery creature of bovine suggestion and daemon-forged metal wielding a massive forge-hammer, Hashtorr's creed "A peaceful land, a quiet people" runs counter to his fearsome appearance. He is a daemon of business and contracts first; while not shy about applying force, pressure, and coercion, it's a tool he uses sparingly. Hashtor and his cult reside in the godly Ebon Skull, said to be a tributary gift taken by Khorne himself.
When a noteworthy Hellsmith petrifies, their souls are sent to Hashut and they wear new flesh as one of his daemons. These are his Daemon Princes, the True Sons of Hashut, who assist in maintaining Hashtorr's rule (and, on occasion, try to usurp the old daemon) through the suggestion of, or in some cases explicit use of, violence.
Below Hashut's loyalists are those independent daemons who band together to maintain that independence from the Chaos Powers, damned mortals, undivided daemons, and exiled Ruinous Daemons who may be permanent or transient residents of the Forge. For godless daemons there are few prospects, but the Forge of Souls provides a path to recouping some influence. Hashut is not the only God who produces war-artisans and those with these skills put them towards the creation of Soul Grinders. Those who do not have the skills typically ally themselves to a Daemon who does and perform menial, thankless jobs, such as accruing the materials needed to create these hulking warpmetal monstrosities (and surreptitiously trying to learn the craft so that they might escape the thrall of often cruel masters).
As for the daemons who are bound to these husks; these are the slain children of the gods. In order to shorten the time it takes to re-manifest, Chaos Daemons may opt to strike a pact with the Forge-daemons of the Forge of Souls. In return for collecting a certain amount of souls, they are returned to their original bodies, but this is not a debt easily settled and the Artisans often have no wish in truth for it to be paid. A daemon who is slain before they can settle their debt must sell itself again to the Forge of Souls and start over, or linger in oblivion like all other daemons. If a Chaos Daemons remains in a Soul Grinder for too long, it's personality begins to fade until it is entirely subsumed into the machine.
Daemons of Chaos can still technically settle their debt while in this state and be returned as a blank slate of a daemon to their former bodies, but their minds are still very much gone. However, many Artisans stipulate that once a daemon reaches this state, they forfeit their lives entirely to the Forge-Daemon who crafted the body.
The Forge Daemons keep the wrath of the Chaos Gods at bay by functioning as a dealer for premium weapons for their daemons and, in some cases, even the Gods themselves through it's connection to Hashut. However, one stipulation in all pacts struct between slain daemons and Artisans is this:
Should the Chaos Gods make war upon the Forge of Souls and attempt to usurp the powers established there, all Soul Grinders must abandon previous loyalties to defend their new home and masters. This is the basis for much of the uneasy peace within the Forge; every Soul Grinder created is a one piece of a mighty bulwark against aggressions from the Ruinous Powers, who all the Forge-dwellers fear.
The only daemons solidly unwelcome in the Forges are those spawned of the Horned Rat.

I like to think that the humans in Warhammer are just. Different than the ones you’d find in our world. Like, we evolved naturally over millions of years through evolutionary pressures.
Humans in WH were literally uplifted spore-style by Lizard-Amphibian aliens, presumably to do battle against the forces of evil (as by this time, the Old Ones were actively at war with the forces of chaos). Iirc, according to the lore, we were incomplete, like the Ogres. More complete than them, but nonetheless.
Humans in Warhammer are probably a more robust than naturally evolved humans, as this would’ve helped us in war. This is especially the case with the Norscans, who are commonly noted as being much stronger than “soft southerners”. I like to thing as civilization, agriculture, and laws dispensed with the need for more strenuous things in life (like hunting), humans leaned more gracile. The opposite was true for the Norscans, who still hunt, pillage, and actively breed themselves to be bigger and stronger (not to mention the mutations and general vicinity to chaos as well as the odd one-night-stand with Things From The Warp).
However, both Southern and Northern humans from Warhammer would be more robust than a modern human from our world.
