My Guitar, Blue

For a moment I wasn't sure whether I dozed off on the bus and started dreaming, or if I woke up from a dream about being on the bus. The truth is it hardly matters anymore; my dreams have mutated into an immaculate giclée of hyperrealism. I can hardly tell whether I'm drifting off into a nightmarish slumber, or back into this waking nightmare. But I will be alright as long as I have this guitar. (I call her 'blue.') As long as I have my girl. I can feel the sand in my eyes, suggesting this is was the real morning, in real reality, but I am still uncertain. Waking reality has become such a haze. The objects in my room hardly feel like individual objects; more so an undulating blur of elementary particles waiting for my weary eyes to reluctantly turn them back into real things. It's just me and blue, and this fog. My room slowly brings itself into focus. The sofa. My girl lying still atop. As I look, I can hardly recognize her. It's as though she has become just another object in the room. Sofa. Sofa with pillows. Sofa, pillows, girl. She lies so still. Or perhaps I am still dreaming? I can still feel the sensation of her skull cracking underneath the weight of blue. But that was just a dream. The chip in the paint on blue was there before, I'm certain of it. I feel it with my hand. Blood. This must still be the dream. At least I have my guitar, blue. Asleep or awake. I'm closing my eyes now.

Was thinking about my old ideas for a L4D3, did you ever have ideas for something like that? Or is that just what KVTW is?

Oh yeah for sure, KvTW is partly fueled by my desires for a L4D3 that never came. I have this really cool fake videogame trailer in my brain with cinematic music and cool shots of Keith running from zombies. Very often I daydream about a Keith spinoff game. But hey, if I can't code and develop it, I'll just write it! That's good enough for me!

Keith was one of the first to hop on the whirlybirds. He was reluctant, since he didn’t want to leave his life - and his friends - behind. There was only one seat on the chopper left, and his brother basically threw him in. Keith promised he’d be waiting for his family when they were all evacuated, and he intended to keep that promise… until the helicopter crashed.

Now, with nothing but a bloody guitar and his own thoughts to occupy him, he's hell-bent on racing Ellis to New Orleans.

Keith vs The World is now out on AO3!!! I'm insanely proud of myself for being dedicated to such an ambitious project, and I'm super excited to continue writing! Every chapter will have at least one illustration to go along with it, so look forward to that! I'll be posting as many progress updates as I can on my blog!

Chapter 8 is on the way!

Hey guys! Quick KvTW progress update! I was hoping to have chapter 8 out by the end of October, but I got suuuuuper busy with Halloween plans, commissions, and one of my friends' upcoming birthdays. The chapter is almost done, I just have to write one or two more scenes and draw some art to go with it! And well, proofreading of course, but that's my girlfriend's job 😇😇😇😇😇

Chapter 8 of KvTW is most likely coming out in early November!!!
