To be fair kidnapping Chay wasn't Vegas's fucking plan, Tawan is just insane. Agreed though I think Kim and Porsche are decent in-laws

I know it was left a little vague, but in canon, Tawan went off Vegas’s plan by accelerating it.

Vegas and Porsche make a plan to pick up Chay the next day so he can join the two of them on the run. while that itself wouldn’t be kidnapping, Vegas’s entire plan was to. y’know. frame Porsche as a sell-out and kill him and Chay to cover it up. kidnapping Chay and holding him hostage is still part of that plan, it was still going to happen—Tawan ruined it by kidnapping Chay before Vegas could.

also, even if it wasn’t, Tawan kidnapping Chay in the first place was to help Vegas. this doesn’t necessarily put that blame directly on Vegas, but who the fuck would blame Porsche if he were really fucking pissed at Vegas for it anyways? bros don’t kidnap other bros little brothers, not even tangentially >:(

but Porsche doesn’t hold it against Vegas! he might’ve let it go because of unusual circumstances and how he was short of options at the time, but Porsche overall has astronomical reserves for forgiveness. he quietly works through his feelings when he’s upset with people and usually comes out the other end having forgiven them—see Arthee, see Kinn, see Vegas, hell even see Khun! the only person he doesn’t forgive is Korn (who killed his father, kidnapped his mother, forced him into the mafia, and fucking more) (fuck Korn). getting back to my point—Porsche doesn’t hold grudges against people, and he most certainly is going to start with Kim.

Porsche just plain isn’t going to hate Kim for any of the mafia shit, or even anything that went down in Kim and Chay’s canon relationship. they’re dumdums in love, but Porsche will let them sort it out themselves (may I remind people that Porsche only punched Vegas once for KIDNAPPING AND TORTURING HIS FRIEND even while also giving him the chance to talk shit out with Pete—Chay might be more of a hot button than Pete, but Kim only hurt Chay’s feelings and ran away, Porsche is not so irrational). sorry nonny, I did not mean to go off on a rant here, but I despise this trope where Porsche hates on Kim because it:

a) completely disregards who he is in canon and massively distorts Porsche’s character into this irrational piece of shit hypocrite

b) overrules Chay’s feelings/choices/decisions just so the author can be mean to Kim

c) Porsche’s gaydar got replaced with a nongdar. the only person who adopts more little brothers than Porsche is Tankhun—Porsche 100% sees angry little bitch Kim and goes free brother! without stopping to ask permission

sure there’s the whole thing w pete and vegas lmfao but imo pete is aware of the fucked up parts of their relationship, and that is in fact a key component of his interest in it; anything healthier would simply not work for him. and also vegas is deeply aware of it.

porsche tho i mean he is consistently fucked (figuratively, here. lmao) by kinn. you’ve got their whole pre-relationship thing, then their beginning when porsche is drugged to high hell, there’s the tawan situation that’s almost made worse by the fact that kinn was faking it the whole time? it’s one thing if he was tricked by tawan but he WASNT he was just keeping porsche in the dark and yes he had his reasons!

the point isn’t that ‘oh it’s unforgivable etc etc’ bc these guys are literally in the mafia, a good normal healthy relationship is not possible and also would be no fun. who watches the mafia show for well-adjusted people and same relationships

the point is porsche does not stay angry about any of these things nearly long enough. he’ll do a little silent treatment and maybe run away but he’ll forgive so so quickly !!! and i understand it in terms of his character!!! it makes sense and it’s delicious!!!!!! but i feel that it’s a very important part of him to keep in mind bc yes he does stand up for himself occasionally but truly he is not the poster boy of enforcing boundaries and self-respect

Okay...hold up. Maybe I'm missing something but wasn't Vegas the only one who knew chay was at yok's?

I would believe Kim is keeping an eye on chay so he knew where to find him, but what about the goons who showed up?

Did vegas tell them or was the information forced out of him by Kan?

With how ready Kim was for them to show up there (plus the FAMILY RING he was wearing for the first time) did vegas call kim to let him know what was going on and make sure to keep an eye on chay?

Which, Kim showed up the last time vegas kidnapped chay and Vegas (unlike kinn and porsche) is Not An Idiot. Kim showing up for chay was a Big Deal.

So in this situation where vegas has no choice but to do what his dad wants, he's doing what little he can to protect who he can - not just pete. And Kim is prepared to be involved if it's for chay.

who in the heck thinks vegas and pete have somehow gotten clear of the mafia world??? that someone or something will be needed to "drag them back in"?

like vegas's name is still theerapanyakul y'all, he still has enemies. pete too, he's been a main family bodyguard for how long?

and vegas still has all the knowledge of the workings of the minor family (and knowing him, most of the main family too) he knows where the bodies are buried, knows the "dirty dealings" assigned to the subsidiary branch, he has relationships with their connections, suppliers, etc etc

neither he nor pete are likely to go looking for regular 9-5 jobs anyway? vegas's skillset is crime boss and pete's is fighting/bodyguarding, what else are they gonna do? they're not exactly homebodies

you really think korn is gonna pay for them to just relocate and idk start a b&b somewhere?

they are just as stuck in the mafia life as many people are lamenting that porsche now is; as keeps being reiterated throughout the show: it's a life you don't get to just "quit" one day

when vegas says he has "nothing left" he means of his personal goals, his chance to win his father's love/respect, the things he wanted to achieve to impress him, not that he's absolved of any connections to his own family. when pete quits, he knows he's not leaving the mafia world behind, he's just declaring his allegiance has changed: vegas is his priority

and even if they do separate from the family for bit - as unlikely as i think that is - we know enough of vegas's personality that the chances of him just letting korn get away with killing his father without any kind of revenge plan are incredibly miniscule

like never mind that if they continue to stick with the general arc of the novel, vegas and pete will be right there in the thick of it, it's just bizarre to think of them as ever "getting away" from the mafia life without, as kinn once suggested to porsche, faking their deaths or running away and leaving the country

Kp is so good when they take themselves seriously i wish they did that more often

You can find some content warnings in the reply section of this post. Shows are listed by countries, numbered by the order I recommend watching in, not by rating. All shows have happy endings unless specified otherwise. The list will hopefully be updated regularly (last updated on 04/04/2024, 98 queer shows in total).

I think the best part of KinnPorsche, and it really comes to mind with this latest episode, is that every character thinks they’re in a different genre and it’s the funniest thing watching it clash with the reality.

Kinn is just living his best rom-com life where he falls for his sassy but kind assistant bodyguard that he can no longer live with out.

Porsche is basically a YA novel where he falls for his sexy morally ambiguous love interest who’s secretly sweet but *gasp* his past has come to haunt him!

Pete thinks he’s in a dark psychological thriller where he must battle his inner demons and brooding but hot captor to maintain his humanity but it threatens to over take him at any moment as he is torn between his newly found dark desires and the reputation he prides himself on.

Vegas acts like he’s in gothic bodice ripper novel where his entire world becomes the kind, empathic heroine Pete and he will do anything to keep him to himself and Pete is going to help him overcome the truama of his past with his love.

Kim sees himself in this brooding noir style detective film where he must uncover the dark past of his family but oh no he finds himself falling for the pure and sweet ingénue Chay and must wrestle with the dangerous life he leads and the mission he’s devoted himself to and the love of his life

Porchay thought he’s living his Wattpad dream life where he meets his idol and gains his respect as he tutors him and they slowly develop a sweet friendship that turns into a heartfelt romance

They really demonstrate how all the characters are protagonists of their own story, and that’s how they make their decisions, based on the assumptions on the world around them. They think they know the story their in, and that’s the role they have taken, but the tragedy and the complications of these relationships is that they aren’t in a single genre story. They’re people, achingly human people, interacting with other complex people and what is salvation for one is a damnation for the other.

They aren’t in any specific genre (you know, beyond on the whole mafia thing) and that’s where the miscommunication happens, that’s how the drama unfolds, that’s how all these different romances keep missing each other, because they’re all operating on different wavelengths based on the story they think *THEY’RE* in and not stopping to really consider the other perspective.

It’s absolutely hilarious, it’s terribly tragic, it’s utterly beautiful and performed so well by the writers and the actors.
