Golden Garden
Tumblr media
I have never listened to a song and went "I can vividly see this person happily dancing in a field of flowers with flurries of flower petals swirling around them" like I have while listening to "Golden Garden"!
I also have a whole music video idea under the cut so if you wanna read it, feel free!
youtube
Beginning instrumentals
Young Himeno is seen walking through her dimly lit castle towards the large door illuminated by sunlight, stepping out as the scene turns into the large flower fields.
Verse 1
She walks along the path, passing by many maids as she grows up, the sky showing different milestones in her life between God's Wrath and present day. She reaches Sebas who pulls out a chair for her afternoon tea. The scene changes to show her own personal garden as she's seated in an elegant gazebo with many columns scattered.
Different types of Himeno steps out from behind the columns, showing different sides of her: Queen, doctor, etc. All are working and moving around main Himeno who thinks about her life and the battles.
It ends with her standing up and going into a run through the fields.
Chorus
Himeno happily runs around the garden, dancing around different versions of herself throughout the chorus. She begins to tap their shoulders, turning them into flurries of petals that follow her and sticking to her dress to lengthen her skirt.
It ends with her finding a Moffun plushie on the ground, making her look around between the chorus and 2nd verse as she finds a path leading to a door. She opens it, changing to the next scene.
Verse 2
Himeno enters a new garden, finding faceless statues of the other Kings. Many versions of her in outfits she wears throughtout the show appear, all circling the statues in curiosity while also reacting as if conversing with them like the show.
Main Himeno finds herself circling the Rita statue, examining them with curiosity. She takes their hand, breaking them out of the statue before happily leading them through another door.
Chorus 2
Rita is seen in the background, watching from afar as Himeno is seen happily dancing in the flower fields. She spots them sitting by themself and instead sits beside them, playfully nudging them as she hands them the Moffun. She would talk to them and tease them despite them being shy and quiet. She takes the Moffun back before playfully rubbing it against Rita's cheek, making them relax.
Bridge/Instrumentals
The two to talk before Himeno takes Rita to their feet and leading them away, more flurries of flower petals shifting them to the next chorus.
Chorus 3
She leads them through a playful dance through the fields as their surroundings transition to moments between Himeno and those she cares about. Yellow flower petals swirl around them as they danced.
The song ends as the two reach the tea table once again, allowing Rita to guide Himeno to her seat as Sebas pours her tea. Both she happily accepts.
The final shot would be a closeup of her teacup being placed on its saucer, a yellow flower petal landing inside.

Animage April 2024 Issue ft. Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger Main Cast Member Interviews (translations below)
Tumblr media
Publication: March 8, 2024 (after broadcast end)
The kings have become immortal
The Uchu King Dagded Dujardin is the most powerful and very worst, having destroyed many planets in the universe. After a fierce battle, the Royal Sentai finally defeated and destroyed Dagded, ending his 2,000 year long history.
The victory over Dagded would've never been achieved by the power of the kings alone. There were the retainers, who continued to support the king from behind the scenes and were highly trusted by them. The former living, who watched over from the Kingdom of Death, Hakabaka, offered their lives and thoughts to the current kings. And, the key to the descent of the Super Fury Ultimate Complete King-Ohger, was the people of the six kingdoms, who created an "endless chain of small lives." In other words, this was achieved only because the entirety of life on Chikyu sided with the kings and rebelled against Dagded.
At the end of an endless chain, lives are forever connected…These words spoken by Reiniol are surely not only about Chikyu. We, who have witnessed the story of Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger, are also entrusted with the task of weaving an eternal story by connecting our lives together. _
Gira Husty: The evil king. He understands the feelings of the Shugod's and settles the battle against Dagded. He was smiling even as the proposal to unite the six kingdoms fell through.
Yanma Gast: The king of wisdom. Using the power of the King's Proof, he created a plan to counter Dagded. He promises Gira that he'll restore the rest of the scattered Shugod parts.
Hymeno Ran: The queen of splendor. She asked her parents, who emerged from Hakabaka, to treat the injured. While thinking of a name for the new country, she proposes "Great Ishabana."
Rita Kaniska: The immovable king. They're rescued by their former king, Karras, who had been revived from Hakabaka. Although they declared the founding of the new country, they were frustrated because no one could come to an agreement.
Kaguragi Dybowski: The lord of abundance. He received assistance from the former lord, Iroki, who emerged from Hakabaka. When deciding on the name of the new country, he tried to get the middle part.
Jeramie Brasieri: The king of inbetween. He's saved by his mother Nephila, who rushed to him from Hakabaka. As a storyteller, he recorded and left a message for the future people of Chikyu. _
Rushing through daily commotion
-Thoughts on the final three episodes that wrapped up the past year-
Murakami: I felt that it was a performance where everyone's teamwork shined through in their cool and united efforts to face the enemy.
Sakai: When I read the script, I thought that the sense of unity of the citizens joining together to fight against Dagded would be the major highlight.
Watanabe: I thought it was really great to see the development of having the people we've been protecting help us in the end.
Kaku: It was amazing that even all the characters from the movie appeared on TV as well.
Sakai: Nakamura Shido-san also made an appearance through his voice.
Murakami: It was truly extravagant. It makes me want to do another movie (laughs).
Watanabe: It was great to see all the people who have appeared so far at the end, including the guests featured in the movie. Over the past year, everyone was passing the baton, but in the end, we all reached the goal together.
Ikeda: Regarding Jeramie, it was very emotional to start out as the storyteller from the first episode, to then end up passing down the story to future generations.
Kaku: The fact that they tried to create a new country free of national borders, but couldn't come together in the end gave off the charm of the Royal Sentai, huh?
Hirakawa: Right, right. Everyone seems to be looking in different directions, but in reality, they're all looking in the same direction. I felt that the way it ended was really good, giving off that typical Royal Sentai feeling.
Sakai: I was moved by the ending, with the main idea seeming to be based on accepting other countries and races.
-The most surprising development after reading the script?-
Murakami: When Rita……(she notices Ikeda-san raising his hand), please go ahead.
Ikeda: Is it okay if we raise our hands?
All: (laughs).
Ikeda: Then, I'll start. What surprised me would have to be the episode where Racules betrays Dagded (episode 41). The developments from episode 41 were memorable because Racules was portrayed in a charming way.
Murakami: I'm next! I would've never expected the development of Kaguragi using his King's Proof to burn Rita as they seal off Minongan in a blizzard (episode 45).
Kaku: That's for sure. I never imagined Kaguragi and Rita would team up.
Murakami: I also like the fact that activating the King's Proof created a new technique, and the way it was used was abit interesting.
Hirakawa: That position.
Kaku: This (he spreads both of his hands out together with Hirakawa-san)
Hirakawa: (while imitating Kaguragi) "Good night~!"
Ikeda: I wasn't able to watch the filming, so I'm looking forward to watching the broadcast (this was pre broadcast at the time of this interview).
Hirakawa: Kaku-san mistakenly said, "Please go home" (laughs).
Kaku: Yeah. The staff said, "Okay then, we're going home~" and left.
All: (laughs).
Hirakawa: That scene was really cool though (laughs).
Murakami: For the dialogue, "Taselles Mirullia Da'pago" was actually supposed to be said in episode 5. They weren't able to include it due to the length of the episode, but it appeared later in episode 30. I was happy to see that many of the things that we couldn't do for various reasons were picked up in the later half.
Watanabe: Anyone else surprised that time skipped forward two years midway through?
Kaku: Yeah! That was really exciting.
Watanabe: As someone who loves shonen manga, it was hot.
Hirakawa: The visuals changed completely.
Sakai: It was also good in terms of motivation for filming.
Watanabe: The change in costumes made it feel fresh.
Kaku: Right, right. It didn't feel boring.
Ikeda: Another surprising thing was idol Rita, no? (episode 38).
Hirakawa: Even now, I'm still really surprised.
Watanabe: I was surprised at the amount of staff during filming.
Sakai: The number of cameras was just incredible.
Watanabe: Seriously. I think they put the most effort into it out of everything in King-Ohger (laughs).
Kaku: The cameras for behind the scenes use were also rolling, right?
Hirakawa: This was the episode where the staff gave their all with blood, sweat and tears (laughs). It was the first time that there were four cameras rolling.
Murakami: It was movie level. It was like "Oshi no Ko."
Ikeda: We even went to watch the filming in order to drag the perfect smile out of them.
Hirakawa: Thank you for coming at that time, really.
Kaku: The body swap (episode 28), Taisei and the others, those three became babies (episode 45), we got to do alot of things that you can't do in a normal drama……It was alot of fun.
Murakami: It was~. Also, getting turned into a pill bug (episode 15).
Sakai: That's right (laughs). Early on, Gira had alot of episodes with disguises.
Murakami: Things like the "playing dead" strategies (episode 11). In terms of surprises, Hymeno gave Kaguragi an anesthetic in episode 8, right? I was surprised by the scene in episode 42, where it was revealed that Racules had been using it.
Kaku: I also thought that I had killed the carp with poison, so I was relieved and thought, "Thank goodness, Kakuragi didn't kill it." I can say this now, but when I asked Director Yamaguchi Kyohei if Kaguragi had poisoned it at that time, he was hesitant to answer.
Murakami: Maybe the Director didn't know about developments either?
Kaku: Maybe. I was told, "Please make a face that can be taken either way."
Hirakawa: When you think about it, it's incredibly difficult to act out Kaguragi.
Sakai: It felt like Kaguragi had the most scenes where his performance had those kind of hidden meanings.
Murakami: And Racules too. Everyone in the 30s group was like that.
Kaku: There were definitely alot of us.
-Describe this team with a single saying?-
Kaku: Charisma Sentai Superstar.
Ikeda: Yes.
Hirakawa: Then it's settled!
All: (laughs).
Sakai: But, surely that's the only way to go. Everyone's got their own charm.
Watanabe: And they're kings.
Sakai: Higuchi Kohei-kun of Donbrothers also once said, "Everyone has their own charm."
Hirakawa: Heh~!
Kaku: That makes me happy.
Murakami: Not just the characters, but all the actors are also unique, and their differences are interesting.
Kaku: That's for sure. We all had different directions, but there were no fights. The six of us came together with a good balance.
Hirakawa: Everyone was so kind.
Sakai: No one ever got too emotionally involved. Even if there was something on my mind, they wouldn't meddle unnecessarily.
Hirakawa: I feel like we didn't interfere with each other too much.
Sakai: I'd say we were a balanced, calm team.
Ikeda: Would you call it calm charisma?
Sakai: Super Charisma Calm Sentai?
All: (laughs).
Hirakawa: That's too confusing (laughs).
-A message from the kings to the people-
Murakami: Throughout the episodes over the past year, I think there were various messages and words of support that the Royal Sentai were aiming to convey, and I'd be glad if they resonated with you. It would make me happy if this production acts as a hint towards taking your own path in life, and that all of our fans will be able to live in a beautiful world.
All: (applauding).
Kaku: The words you said just now, I'll take it those are the words everyone else was going to use, huh?
All: (laughs).
Hirakawa: Marie just said what we all wanted to say!
Murakami: Is there anything I didn't say?
Ikeda: Something like, "I was very happy to meet you all" or, "Thank you very much for your support."
Kaku: I don't think children understand the content of the story in depth right now. So, I hope that when they grow up, they'll watch it again and see that the kings they admired back then were such great characters.
Watanabe: I have one last thing to say.
Hirakawa: What?
Watanabe: I know this is goodbye for TV, but when you suddenly remember us, I'd be happy if you could come and visit Chikyu to play.
All: Oooh~!! (applauding).
Hirakawa: That's perfect!
Kaku: And with that, finally, our leader!
Sakai: Right……I'd be happy if you'd continue to love this show even after it's over. Thank you very much!
Ikeda: "…..or so it goes."

while he definitely could've worded it better, i think simon bennett actually has a point about power rangers needing to move away from super sentai *dodges tomatoes*
i've lost count of how many times someone's posted the coolest shit i've ever seen from sentai, rider, or ultra, and all people in the comments have to say about it is "oh lol it's like power rangers". power rangers is most people's first impression of tokusatsu, and that's obviously not gonna be indicative of the wider genre unless someone actively chooses to dig a little deeper (which they usually don't)
stuff like godzilla, ultraman, and kamen rider came out of creatives using original, fantastical concepts to say things about the world around them, power rangers came about because an american executive found a cheap way to make half a show and sell toys. that's not to say the latter has never tried to be more than that or that the former is free from capitalism informing/hindering its creative decisions (lol.), but that's why one is an enduring media institution that's jumpstarted countless careers while the other is seen as "that one kid's show from the 90s with the goofy costumes. wait what do you mean it's still going"
a reboot that does something totally new is probably the only way for PR to dig itself out of that reputation with people who aren't hardcore fans. i think about how that voltron cartoon, before that became a shitshow of its own, was a huge hit with an audience who had zero nostalgia for the original show because it was trying to do more than appeal to the people who grew up with the original. similarly, you look at RTD's relaunch of doctor who and most of the things he brought to the series were basically sacrilegious to longtime fans. killing all the time lords, blowing up gallifrey, having the doctor KISS a WOMAN??????? the show's ruined forever now (still going strong 15+ years later)
and most important TO ME is that this is also a definite net positive for sentai too. i don't think it's a coincidence that right around the time toei ended their partnership with power rangers and hasbro we started to get huge shakeups to the series' formula with zenkaiger, donbrothers, and king-ohger, resulting in sentai's first year of being profitable since kyoryuger. they no longer have to consider how concepts will be marketable to an american audience as well as their japanese audience, which means we can do whatever the hell we want now. is that not the ideal scenario? i just don't see how the adaptation process is beneficial to either franchise at this point besides being tradition

Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger vs. Donbrothers/Kyoryuger Early screening Stage Greeting First timing report
(I am just going to address them as their Character it would be a little confusing for some if I use their name)
There might be some spoiler from the movie?
First timing.
They were having issue with microphone while introducing themselves.
Everyone in audience were calling out to them. 🥹 even they call out the Director 🤣 (he did Donbrothers)
Rita at first like eh eh eh is it on? The rest help them out.
(Apparently trying to figure out it was on or not didn’t seem so obvious)
Then Saruhara was also but they also teasing him until he like leave me alone
Tsubasa apparently say he sort of still on a run, he came from Kyoto? Then he has a new hair duo he said Sononi did it for him.
Kijino was like EHHH YOURE CALLING ME ? (He did it also in the second time)
Then King Ohger were ask about their other role they played in alter world
Gira was like I become Uchu ah…he tried to do different facial expression to show the difference between both of Gira.
Yanma was mentioned about him and Shiokara. I think it was about usually Shiokara follow him then how in this opposite? Like he just follow whatever Shiokara said and just act it out? (plus considering Yanma doesn’t like to prepare too much for a scene)
Himeno mention apparently the director and rest were apologising to her because she had to eat the flower which wasn’t very nice and that she create it with the image of an unrequited Cinderella in mind. (Probably to both they felt so bad?)
(Jeramie mention like he cry watching?)
Rita didn’t expect to do again the dance and singing but it was different then what theh did in the Idol episode. They did mentions that even in main story this probably the most they have seen Rita’s smile the most?
(Yes they still sang and dance the Moffun song…DAMN IT TOEI I WANT A RITA CHARACTER SONG…I mean Moffun is ok but come on…sorry I am still forever salty)
Kaguragi got mention about sumo that he was ask to give a face he normally don’t show. So he gave a really pathetic looking face. The audience found it cute
Jeramie was too into ‘Come on’ (I think I remember he mention he came up with it) after having to finally got a chance to change out of his usual get up.
Rita mention that he had a lot of pose for it.
Then Jeramie was too into the Come on that he end up walking opposite direction to which he pointing. I think he try to save it by saying it the other side!
Tarou was worried since it been a year since they were together. End up everyone did alright.
Kijino mention how he was impressed they did Avataro change in one take
Tarou mention nothing had change just the two hairstyle (Haruka and Tsubasa)
I remember that Kaguragi was saying that Takano-san is huge fan so that why he able to do the script. Kaguragi got mention about the Sumo match the ‘Hao’ ‘Hao’ gesture to the person he fought with whose name was Jackie-Chan 😅
There was one point Tarou said Takano-San name wrongly the King-Ohger corrected him 😂😅
Apparently they were asking about Prince about his action scene how much he train (If I remember correctly)
He was super shy but serious although he was at G-Rosso before which the King-Ohger said to him.
Most of the King-Ohger seem like were teasing him.
Kingohger were saying they had work with their suit actors to do their own action scene.
Director mention he thought King-Ohger would be too overwhelm by Donbrothers but King-Ohger was amazing. He did mention some part in movie would be only be understood by people who watch the main story.
Also parts that was cut out of the movie from what director said would be added in blu-ray (IT A WIN a bit I hope it for both of them since Director was for Donbrothers)
Director mentions that Murasame actually appears in beginning. Asking if we notice it or not. (I mention in my previous spoiler where they are)
There was moment Kaguragi got mention about how the two blue know each other then they share about their story. Like they never thought they get work with each other in this situation. I think Yanma mention was at one point jealous Saruhara got it first?
Haruka was ask to do her killed moment again then Yanma also when he got electrocuted
Tarou say we got a bond Gira last min say his famous line Sekai O Shihai Suru! When they were leaving the stage.

"I try to keep in mind the role I’m currently playing so that the viewers think that the heroes are cool! Within the long history of Super Sentai, I’m trying to create a captivating role with the advice and hints I have from everyone around me, not just myself. I will continue to devote myself to making King-Ohger a work that will remain in everyone’s hearts!"

Himeno would be lying if she said she didn't believe in the fairytales she read as a child. But she would also be lying to say she believed a prince would come save her since she was raised to take care of herself as the sole protector and Queen of her kingdom.
So imagine her surprise when she found the icey King of Gokkan jumping off the balcony she was thrown off of with a parasol and telling her to not let go of it.
Maybe the silly fairytales aren't so silly after all.

I started watching Kamen Rider and Super Sentai this year and I feel like I picked a really good year, the current shows are fascinating.
Kamen Rider Geats had a really good set up as a battle royale style critique of capitalism and granting happiness to a few at the expense of many, all for the entertainment of the super rich who are disconnected from it. I don't think it stuck the ending - it simultaneously felt like it should have ended earlier, but also didn't have enough time to set up the final villain - but the ride was good.
Now there's Kamen Rider Gotchard which is alchemists collecting rogue power cards. Right now it looks like a cross between Full Metal Alchemist and Card Captor Sakura, which are not bad comparisons and I'm honour-bound to watch it as a Kamen Rider series which uses playing cards.
Then finally Ohsama Sentai King Ohger, aka Lord King Squad King Kinger, aka Sentai of Thrones, which has kinda stealthed itself into being one of my favourite things.
I think @cina-full-moon-xanadium has put it best:
But there's a lot of interesting stuff in here! I don't call it Sentai of Thrones solely for a joke, it's pitched at a young audience, but it does cover a lot of the messy elements of leadership: each member of the team is a king and they have conflicting goals for their countries; there is a plot where it's revealed that a villain killed an advisor to act as a double agent for the better part of a decade; rival brothers have fought over the right to their country's throne and a vassal-king from a different country has been trying to play them off against each other, only for it to be revealed that the vassal-kings sister was being held as hostage-fiancée by one of the brothers.
And now they have just wrapped up the forever war by making peace with the evil monsters, only for it to be revealed after a time skip that their entire conflict was brought about by a cruel and capricious god and it does all this while still being fun and silly. It's an amazingly well done balancing act that reminds me of Gurran Lagann, another of my favourite shows!
I may continue to jot down my thoughts here in between promoting my streams, sharing cat pictures for my mod, and reblogging whatever amuses me so... watch this space I guess?

My Playlists // Jeramie Brasieri
More about each song below the cut bc I'm a music nerd and I love talking about the meanings behind a piece and how the songs are tied to a character to me :)
The Silence by Bastille
"Tell me a piece of your history that you're proud to call your own // Speak in words you picked up as you walked through life alone // we used to swim in your stories and be pulled down by their tide"
I think this song really speaks to Jeramie's relationship with storytelling, how he was alone for so long and his only connection to the people around him was their own relationship with his writings, specifically the legend of King Ohger. He was just writing the story as he saw it, a piece of his history, and it left a wake of destruction behind him that he didn't see until now.
Two by Sleeping at Last
"I will love you without a single string attached"
I just really love this album by Sleeping at Last, at least one song from Enneagram is on almost all of my character playlists. The album is nine songs written one about each enneagram personality type, so the idea is there kinda is one song that will really speak to each different personality type. I also love the imagery of "strings attached" in this song for Jeramie with the theme of webbing and being metaphorically and literally attached to the people he cares about. Jeramie is a force to be reckoned with emotionally, he cares deeply and intensely, and this song really encapsulates that vibe to me.
Poet by Bastille
"Now you'll live through the ages // I can feel your pulse in the pages // I have written you down // Now you will live forever"
I feel like... do I really need to explain this one? Its just about the idea of immortalizing a love, a story, a feeling in words that will last forever. Jeramie is all about this lol
Heirloom by Sleeping at Last
"This crooked posture is all you've ever known // It is the consequence of living in between // The weight of family and the pull of gravity"
"When you inhereted a fight that you were born to lose // It's not your fault"
Two lines from this one!! I had to include the line where they literally say "living in between" for the king of the in-between of course, but to me this song is all about Jeramie and his parents. He inherited a life riddled with prejudice that he should never have had to face, something his parents never would have wanted for him, but as opposed to the lyrics, it's a fight he's winning. He inherited so much more love and wisdom from his parents than anything else, and it's something he's very proud of.
Constellations by The Oh Hellos
"'Cause like constellations a million years away // Every good intention, every good intention // Is interpolation, a line we drew in the array"
This song is directly about the misinterpretation of scripture, of words lost in translation from hundreds of years ago. In general I cannot recommend The Oh Hellos' four seasons albums enough (Notos, Eurus, Boreas, Zephyrus), especially if you're like me and have some... extensive religious trauma lmao. The Oh Hellos write many many songs unraveling the religion they were raised in with respect and heart, and their works are truly beautiful poetically and musically. ANYWAYS. Constellations being about the misinterpretation of words written with intentions far gone from their current use really sticks to the whole "Jeramie writing the legend of King Ohger" thing well. Every good intention, or bad in the case of the people of Chikyuu, was simply an interpolation taken from the base writings Jeramie left for people to interpret.
Rounds by The Oh Hellos
"Be the Sun as my witness // Better prophets could pen // A thousand words for every chord // I could ever begin"
Welcome back to I love these albums by The Oh Hellos. Once again this has to do with Jeramie's storytelling, but I think on a deeper level this one is less about the misinterpretation and more about Jeramie's confidence in his own works, if what he's doing is right given what's happened, him being more aware of the effects his words have on people. Jeramie has been around for a long time, and in this time he's been through a lot and seen a lot, relived the cyclical history over and over. His writings are his life, his everything, and yet he always feels he could be doing more. Honestly, this one is kinda hard for me to articulate well on because it's just... the vibes are so right for him lol. The emotion is there.
I'm sure over time I'll add more songs to this playlist, but I hope you enjoy my silly analytical response to the songs I have for my beloved Mr. Jeramie Spiders who I think about a bit too often <3
