Have I ever mentioned how much I enjoy the fact that when Barry came back to life he was all "??I should just be dead??? I don't want to be here??? Longtail and Jayfeather

Oh man something is really coming together in my rewrite here; Longtail and Jayfeather’s bond

So, I showed in that family tree draft that Longtail is actually the older brother of Sandstorm now. That means he’s actually Jayfeather’s grand-uncle. They also have a lot in common; grumpy, warmer than they seem, always getting put into situations they didn’t ask for.

One of the things I like about PO3 is how they show Hollypaw and Jaypaw struggling to really find their places in their apprenticeships; but what I don’t like is that Jaypaw is ultimately shoved into the medcat den. I also don’t love that Longtail gets retired early; it just doesn’t feel like it fits him.

Longtail is a super enthusiastic mentor, and yet, he never actually got to finish training either apprentice. I think what I’d like to do with Longtail instead is that he did retire early; but it was a soft retirement. He’s basically been doing warrior tasks when he feels like it, going at his own pace, adapting to his disability on his own terms. So, when Jaypaw rolls around and the buzz about retiring him early comes up, he says, “Firestar you orange bastard (affectionate), unretire me right now.“

Mousefur: “You can’t just unretire yourself“

Longtail: “Yeah well I’ve done it“

Ultimately, Jaypaw is still going to choose the medicine cat den, but this time it’ll be because it’s what he wants. Not because he couldn’t be a warrior. When he does finally choose that, Longtail feels he’s properly trained an apprentice like he’s always wanted to. They remain close.

I’m not sure if he’ll retire again after that. It would be a good place for him to feel like he finally can relax, but at the same time, I would just enjoy having a blind warrior hanging out in the background of PO3 and OOTS.

#I have a lot more to say about the two of them #For example I want them to have a very dramatic and playful air of fighting around them #Because Longtail doesn't tiptoe around him #And on that note Longtail refuses to let him huff and end a conversation without sharing his feelings #He sees Jayfeather lashing out because it makes people leave him alone and he's like #Jaypaw you're going to talk to me or I'm going to kick your furry butt #He is also going to be deputy after TPB and until he's blinded #But I'm trying to decide if it was him or Graystripe who was deputy during the BloodClan crisis in Graystripe's Vow #Longtail might get blinded after Firestar leaves and then him and Graystripe have to hold the clan together #So it's both of them in a way #bonefall rewrite #longtail #jayfeather #Longtail is his uncle-grandpa

Elysia smiles at seeing Freyja, waving with one hand whilst holding a bag in the other as she strides into the Abyss, her own bright demeanor surely standing out in face of the dreary place the two women were meeting in. "Hi again~" She states just as she comes to a halt a few feet in front of Freyja. "I have seen more Teyvat since we've last met. But you're right, it would be nice to discuss it in more detail over tea."

Elysia then raises the bag to show it to Freyja, grinning a bit wider. "Since we last met, I decided I'd bring you some things this time~ I've got some snacks; including cookies, hehe; some books, some souvenirs, and a few other things. I thought you'd like it, since it doesn't seem like you have all that much down here." Plus, Elysia was already collecting them anyway as she traveled around Teyvat.

Still kind of convinced they fused OMAC with Peacemaker on purpose for the brave and the bold episode. Theres so much Peacemaker traits in him that OMAC does not have and I understand “guy who says hes fighting for peace but actually just loves violence and is having fun doing violence and we want it to be funny” kind of has like one way to be written but still.
