2) Do you have a personal favourite among your OCs?

I definitely go through cycles with my OCs where there's ones that I tend to write/draw/create headcanons for/play around with the most at certain times depending on what fandom I'm most invested in, so it's hard for me to pick an all-time favourite! (right now, though, the Kova brainrot is all-consuming hahaha)

12) Name an OC that isn’t yours but who you like a lot

Oooh there are so many wonderful OCs that I just love!!! Kathryn Mackeddie (@my-one-true-l) and Nerissa (@arrthurpendragon-- all of Kass's OCs are so amazing honestly) come to mind immediately but there really are so many incredible OCs out there!

24) If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?

Joey. I wanna give her a hug 😭 (she also would just be a nice person to hang around)

43) Do you have any certain type when you create your OCs? Do you tend to favour some certain traits or looks? It’s time to confess

Plucky young girls who kick ass? Haha

(I also have a habit of using my OCs as my bilingual power fantasy lol a lot of them end up being bilingual due to my deep desire to be completely fluent in more than one language)

Do they go trick-or-treating?

She did when she was little and has every intention of doing so again with L.

What do they dress up as?

Witches and vampires are her favorites.

What is their favourite candy?

Reese’s peanut butter cups.

Favourite scary movie?

The Blair Witch Project

Favourite Halloween tradition?

Carving pumpkins.

Who do they go out with on Halloween?

L of course!

Make it! (Sewing is one of the few hobbies of mine that I gave to her lol!)

Absolutely, even more so now that it’s also L’s birthday.

She pretty much sticks to witches and vampires, but different variations of them.

YES, she and L went as vampires for the first Birthday/Halloween together.

Definitely! She likes classic faces, but she gets fancy now and then.

Yeah, she likes seeing all the kids and their costumes.

Corn mazes for sure!

Yes, of course! She’s a big fan of purple and orange fairy lights and bats.

Hello Asraella💖 I would like to ask, do you have any flower associations for Kathryn?

Hello Sakura!💜 Yes, I have a few actually!

Clematis, which means "mental beauty". I think L would use that to describe her. They're also very pretty imo.

Then Daisy because it means innocence, Loyal love, & "I'll never tell". Very Kathryn traits if you ask me.

Finally, Edelweiss, which stands for Courage and devotion. They're also unconventionally pretty and delicate, which I think fits Kathryn as well.😊

Where did you get the idea for Kathryn when you started writing your fic? Did you always planned on putting her on your story or did she came up later? And what inspired you to create her?

Oh goodness Luz! 🥰💜🖤 Kathryn is a trip I wasn't ready to go on, but 7 fics later and counting, here we are lol.

Kathryn began because I was thinking about how L's life came to an end and wondering what would have happened if another person, aside from Watari, believed him about Light before it was too late. I didn't want to change anything major to the early parts of the DN story's plot, so I felt whomever it was needed to be a new character. I liked the idea of it being someone other than another detective, and since I'm very into forensic science, I thought it would be cool to have them be a medical examiner. They had to be someone that had a skill L was not proficient in so he would see value in bringing them onto the Task Force. Since Death Note is lacking in women, I decided that they should be female and Kathryn was born! I wanted her to be different than L, but strong and intelligent in her own regard. I wanted a compliment to his personality without being a copy, someone that was strong where he was not and vice versa so there were less blind spots when it came to looking at evidence and coming up with theories.

When I started writing the story, the intention was for them to be best friends with a little hint of a spark now and then (because that's my jam), but somehow they decided they were going to be best friends that fall in love lol, but they will always be best friends first.

They've been pains in my ass ever since lol!

3. What is the meaning behind their name? Do they have any nicknames?

In story, it’s just what her parents named her. To me though, so many of my favorite female characters are Catherines and Katherines (and even a Ryn), so that’s why I chose the spelling I did.

In fics, her friends call her Kat, her family and closest friends call her Ryn. Aside from Ryn, L calls her Kit Kat and various other sweets-based nick names like Cupcake and Gumdrop.

8. What do they believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?

She isn’t religious, but she is spiritual. She believes you go somewhere, but where? Well, that remains to be seen and no, it doesn’t scare her.

11. If they could make a mark on history, what would they like it to be?

To Kathryn, she already made a mark when she helped catch the Long Island Lady Killer, but she would really love to have a small impact on the Kira case that allows L to catch him.

15. What was something their parents taught them?

That kindness doesn’t cost you anything to give.

25. What is their biggest flaw?

She tends to undervalue her intelligence, not equating it with her successes, which she thinks are due to her observation skills and persistence, rather than know-how.

27. What is their biggest strength?

Her patience. She will keep at something until it works or breaks (if that makes sense). Either way, she’s getting an outcome.

I think of Kathryn as pretty tidy, like her room and bathroom are always clean and never lets Watari clean her quarters (because to her, it’s kind of creepy and also not his job in her mind), but has no issue with the clutter and stacks of papers lying all about HQ when The Task Force is working together.
