Based on a real priest. Other than Crowe, there are no big names involved with this picture. No previous credits to suggest this is going to be good, but I still am hoping.

The Pope’s Exorcist (2023)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
The Pope’s Exorcist has multiple scenes with lightning at night, all of which use extreme strobes, with each scene starting without warning. Flickering lights are used in multiple supernatural scenes, including one that already has lightning strobes. The strobe lights on an emergency vehicle are shown immediately after an explosion.
All of the camera work in this film is either stationary or very smooth, but there are some brief, creative camera angles that may be mildly disorienting.
Flashing Lights: 10/10. Motion Sickness: 2/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: Demonic possession occurs through most of this film, and is depicted with convulsions and unnatural contortions. One character starts gagging and regurgitates a disturbing object, and an old man in a hospital suddenly vomits blood moments after having an oxygen mask removed from his face. Two animals are killed on-screen. Religious characters praise each other for holding on to guilt.

Samaritan (2022)
My rating: 6/10
I mean, the big plot twist was so obvious, it seems very appropriate that the line was basically a direct quote from a popular song that follows it with a "duh", but all in all, this is a perfectly serviceable superhero movie.

The fact that The Pope's Exorcist is being directed by the guy who gave us Overlord has my attention because that was a solid war/horror film.
