"No power in the universe can rob you of it; none, but yourself, can even diminish it. “Your joy no man takes from you.” What the power, or love, or presence of man can create – the power, or hatred, or absence of man can destroy. But, the joy of the believer has a different origin, and, as no man bestowed it, so no man can take it away. It has God for its author – the living Rock of Ages for its ever-flowing fountain – the Holy Spirit for the golden channel, which it conveys into the heart. Thus, coming from the fountain of joy, it is of immortal origin – and, is far above the reach of mortal enemies. All the sorrows of earth – all the temptations of hell, are vain against this joy. So far from being diminished by what would crush earthly happiness, and reduce the stoutest heart, without Divine grace, to hopeless dejection – it is only realized more fully, amid the raging fury of the hurricane, or the dreary gloom of a starless midnight." - John MacDuff

On the freezing morning of March 25 1306, Robert the Bruce was crowned King of Scots at Scone where a circlet of gold was raised and placed upon his head.
He was crowned in the presence of at least three bishops and four earls with the coronation, which followed the murder of John Comyn, Bruce’s main rival to the throne, a formal and solemn affair.
The King was draped in “kingly robes and vestments” which had been hidden away by Robert Wishart, the Bishop of Glasgow, until “this longed for day”, according to Ronald McNair Scott in his book Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland.
“(They) were brought out by the old man and set upon King Robert, and a circlet of gold was placed upon his head while the great banner of the kings of Scotland with its lion and scarlet lillies, that had lain so long concealed, was planted behind his throne,” the author wrote.
The Bishops of Moray and St Andrews were also in attendance as well as the Earls of Atholl, Lennox, Menteith and Mar. Absent, however, was the Earl of Fife, who held the hereditary right to crown the kings of Scotland.
Still a youth and held in England as a ward of court in 1306, he unable to attend the coronation and perform his hereditary duties. But his sister, 19-year-old Isabella MacDuff, the Countess of Buchan, went against the will of her husband - a loyal supporter of Edward I and close kinsman of the murdered John Comyn - by taking up the hugely symbolic role during the coronation.
“To her the call of Scotland and her youthful hero-worship of Bruce proved greater than her wifely duty,” Scott wrote.
“Seizing her husband’s finest horses, she rode with the upmost speed to Scone to act on her brother’s behalf” he added.
Isabella arrived a day too late but but King Robert took part in a second coronation ceremony, 48 hours after the first,so that the ancient tradition may be preserved.
“The golden circlet was lifted once more and placed upon the brow of Robert Bruce, Earl of Carrick, Lord of Annandale, King of Scots.”
Following the coronation, Edward I sent soldiers into Scotland to hunt down the new king. Robert fled and, as the manhunt continued across Scotland, the King’s brother - Nigel de Brus - and other supporters were discovered.
They were taken to Berwick-Upon-Tweed where the men were judicially condemned, hanged, drawn and beheaded.
Along with other members of the family including King Robert's wife, Elizabeth, Isabella was captured and sent to the Borders town. There, she was confined to a cage that was hung from a tower at Berwick Castle as a warning to others. She remained in the cage for four years, according to accounts.

Welcome to The Kingdom Of Kaodina
The Kingdom Of Kaodina welcomes you to our bustling yet ancient town! Our townsfolk are living their best lives as their ancestors did before them. It's a simple life in Kaodina but luckily, the townsfolk seem to have special abilities to make it a little more exciting! There's mischievous fairies, wicked witches, wild werewolves, vicious vampires, and even beautiful mermaids everywhere! There are fantasy homes, ruins, and lots of parks for your sim to explore!
Tumblr media
I have played Moonlight Falls and Dragon Valley far too many times. I wanted a new fantasy/medieval/tudor world to play in so I decided to try making my own! I found this gorgeous map by JanasCreatives and just had to make my very own perfect new tudor town!
Interesting Characters
Tumblr media
There are a lot of townies from Dragon Valley and Moonlight Falls here: The MacAnna Sisters, Robin Hooley, The Dolans, The O'Connells, The Goodfellows, The MacDuffs, Chaucey Grimm, Gladsten Farmwell, John Burb, Siobahn Murphy, Bailey and Chester Swain.
The Mudd Family is a farming family! They love to get their hands in the mud to plant, build, and more! You'll see them tending to their garden on their lovely lot all of the time!
The Blossom Fairies are best fairy friends and probably 99% responsible for all of the shenanigans around town.
Cordelia Morgan has been a resident of The Kingdom Of Kaodina since the beginning…mostly because they can't keep her out of Kaodina Bay. She is a daughter of the sea king!
Flora Root loves her little house on the peninsula. She can practice her alchemy potions, let her garden thrive, and all with an absolutely beautiful view!

Other Important Info
Kaodina is a medium world. I have all expansions, all stuff packs, and all store content so I am sure most of it is used in this save. If you do not have some of the items, the game will generate another item in its place. The only expansion not used is PETS so I am not sure how it will perform with pets and horses, etc. but there is plenty of room for them. This is a world save file so you will have to have the world installed in order to play the save file. In this download there is the world download and 3 save files:
KaodinaCommunityLots - this save is only the community lots, no residential houses
KaodinaUnpopulated - this is the final version of the save with zero households
KaodinaPopulated - this is the final version of the save with all households
There is zero custom content in this save
Tumblr media
I hope you enjoy! Please tag me @zergula or hashtag #kaodina in any posts or photos you share because I would love to see them. You can check out my other world saves here: River Falls and here: Simarellen Happy simming!

Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf
Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf
Good
Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf
Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf
Sept, huit, neuf (sept, huit, neuf)
Sept, huit, neuf (sept, huit, neuf)
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine
My dearest, Angelica
Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
I trust you'll understand the reference to another Scottish tragedy
Without my having to name the play
They think me Macbeth, ambition is my folly
I'm a polymath, a pain in the ass, a massive pain
Madison is Banquo
Jefferson's Macduff
And Birnam Wood is Congress on its way to Dunsinane
And there you are an ocean away
Do you have to live an ocean away?
Thoughts of you subside
Then I get another letter
And I cannot put the notion away
Take a break
I am on my way
There's a little surprise before supper and it cannot wait
I'll be there in just a minute, save my plate
Alexander
Okay, okay
Your son is nine years old today
He has something he'd like to say
He's been practicing all day
Philip, take it away
Daddy, daddy, look
My name is Philip
I am a poet
I wrote this poem just to show it
And I just turned nine
You can write rhymes but you can't write mine
What!
I practice French and play piano with my mother
Uh-huh
I have a sister but I want a little brother
Okay
My daddy's trying to start America's bank
Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq!
Bravo!
Take a break
Hey, our kid is pretty great
Run away with us for the summer
Let's go upstate
Eliza, I've got so much on my plate
We can all go stay with my father
There's a lake I know
I know
In a nearby park
I'd love to go
You and I can go when the night gets dark
I will try to get away
My dearest Alexander, you must get through to Jefferson
Sit down with him and compromise
Don't stop 'til you agree
Your favourite older sister Angelica reminds you
There's someone in your corner all the way across the sea
In a letter I received from you two weeks ago
I noticed a comma in the middle of a phrase
It changed the meaning, did you intend this?
One stroke and you've consumed my waking days
It says
"My dearest, Angelica"
With a comma after dearest
You've written
"My dearest, Angelica"
Anyway, all this to say
I'm coming home this summer
At my sister's invitation
I'll be there with your family if you make your way upstate
I know you're very busy, I know your work's important
But I'm crossing the ocean and I just can't wait
You won't be an ocean away
You'll only be a moment away
Alexander come downstairs, Angelica's arriving today
Angelica!
Eliza!
The Schuyler sisters
Alexander!
Hi
It's good to see your face
Angelica, tell this man, John Adams spends the summer with his family
Angelica, tell my wife, John Adams doesn't have a real job anyway
You're not joining us? Wait-
I'm afraid I cannot join you upstate
Alexander, I came all this way
She came all this way
All this way
Take a break
You know I have to get my plan through Congress
Run away with us for the summer
Let's go upstate
I'll lose my job if we don't get this plan through Congress
We'll all go stay with our father
There's a lake I know
I know I'll miss your face
In a nearby park
Screw your courage to the sticking place
You and I can go
Eliza's right
Take a break
Take a break and get away
Run away with us for the summer
Let's go upstate
Where we can stay
We can all go stay with our father
If you take your time, you will make your mark
Look around, look around, at how lucky we are to be alive right now
Close your eyes and dream
We can go
When the night gets dark
Take a break
I have to get my plan through Congress
I can't stop 'til I get this plan through Congress
Here ya go
THERES NOTHING LIKE SUMMER IN THE CITY-

May 14, 2011
We had already come back twice in the month of April (my best friend and I) and I had tracked down and experienced my first 1:1 – Banquo, and the key prop in that 1:1 had proven to be the first major collision point with my previous academic pursuits. But I still had not had nearly enough and I booked my first solo ticket.
That was a big deal for me – who would I talk to in line and at the bar? How would I bide all that time alone but surrounded by strangers? Somehow this already was less intimidating to me. As I stepped away from the check-in desk an entirely unfamiliar voice called out to me.
“You come here a lot, what’s your deal?” – this is how I met Jenny Weinbloom, then the marketing intern who had worked on the Gallow Green ARG, now one of the most formidable people in the entire immersive industry. I don’t even know what I answered! But we talked briefly about love for this show – she ditched school to work on it in Boston – and our mutual enthusiasms were complementary.
I had seen the Banquo 1:1 (and saw it a third time again that night) but was determined to discover others - first, Malcolm with Rob Najarian, which began a long love affair with that character that dominated my first year at the show; and then Fulton with Jeffery Lyon. I couldn’t describe the intense fever that built inside after all these discoveries.
But something strange was happening. I felt a slight tug at my back pocket – I couldn’t see who had done it, but I found a cryptic note had been put there. Some time later it happened again. Stooge that I am, I reported the peculiar behavior to the stewards, who said they’d check with the house manager. This isn’t part of the show, I swore, someone is messing with me.
Soon enough I was distracted by something else: I witnessed an absolutely horrifying scene, the murder of Lady Macduff. And as her bereft husband (Luke) placed her on the couch in the lobby and stormed off, most of the gathered crowd went with him, But I was transfixed, and when she came to she looked up at me and there was a profound moment of recognition. So I stayed with her through the rest of the loop, leading to her 1:1, which devastated me. I wept through the end of the performance.
I came out to Manderley and saw Matt there – he was the one leaving notes in my pocket. John had brought him in and the staff were in on the gag.
He left shortly thereafter but I stayed at the bar, feeling uncharacteristically calm and at home. And as the cast began to file in to the bar, as they regularly back in those days - a woman walked up to me. “You – you were great to work with,” she said – it was Alli Ross, who had played Lady Macduff. It struck me as odd to be addressed like I had also been performing – but, in a sense, I had.
“You had a great energy and I could tell you were really interested in my story and I knew the moment I saw you that I’d take you for the 1:1.”
I stayed very late that night. In the old days, there was no Sunday show, so the 11pm Saturday performance that ended at 2am rolled over into a bit of a staff party that cleared out around 4. I met a bunch of other cast members – starstruck as I was – and found my anxieties about strangers and bars were entirely gone. I began to realize, yes I was playing a role here – not the part of myself but as an active participant in the production, a necessary source of energy or a willing touchpoint to play off of. Recognizing this was the beginning of realizing that in every place we show up, we choose what role to play. If I could be this version of myself here, in the safety of a scripted performance; if I could be a version of me who flirts, who cruises, who does not shy away from eye contact, who is ready with a witty reply to Maximilian – why would I not choose to be that person, all of the time?

we're on take a break & my lovely anon is also taking a break... interesting! ok, back to the lyrics:
my dearest, angelica, tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day, i trust you'll understand the reference to another scottish tragedy without my having to name the play, they think me macbeth, & ambition is my folly, i'm a polymath, a pain in the ass, a massive pain, madison is banquo, jefferson's macduff & birnam wood is congress on its way to dunsinane - ok but this is insane everybody agrees
in a letter i received from you two weeks ago i noticed a comma in the middle of a phrase, it changed the meaning, did you intend this? one stroke & you've consumed my waking days, it says: my dearest, angelica, with a comma after "dearest", you've written my dearest, angelica... - sorry, i can't help but quote lorde here, "i overthink your punctuation use, not my fault, just a thing that my mind do" cause SAME, i've always been like this so bonus points for lin again he's the love of my life in case you can't tell
angelica, tell this man john adams spends the summer with his family/angelica, tell my wife john adams doesn't have a real job anyway - mostly because it's so damn funny hshshshhs
honorable mention: philip's rap & hammy's hey our kid is pretty great at the end of it cause it's soooo cute
bonus: lin's demo for today! because it's a little bit different than the final version & also it's so damn funny to hear lin as philip hshshshsh (as usual, all the characters are played by him so go have a laugh).

"Tell the men of the world, and, let them see by your example and spirit, that Christianity is not the gloomy thing they imagine – that a life of holiness is a life of real happiness – of happiness for time and for eternity. But, oh! tell them, there is something gloomy – the joy, which blazes for a moment like a dazzling meteor, and then vanishes forever – the hopes, which are dependent on worldly possessions and worldly pleasures." - John MacDuff

Central City's John Broome Theater's performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth, directed by Dexter Miles. Starring Evan McCulloch as Macbeth and George "Digger" Harkness as Macduff.
Poor Dexter Miles should have known better than to allow the Rogues to audition, no matter how much they wanted to be on stage. And he definitely should've know better than to cast the second Mirror Master as the titular role. Even if there's no one else in the Twin Cities who can act Shakespeare with a convincing Scottish brogue.
Evan McCulloch and Digger Harkness swore they knew how to fight with blades. What neither one realized was the fact that knife fights in the street are not exactly equivalent to medieval swordfights.
And it goes without saying that their grasp on Shakespeare is...questionable, at best.
