"Melinda" (1972) is an action-crime-drama directed by Hugh A. Robertson, who was the editor of the 1971 classic, "Shaft." This movie features Calvin Lockhart in the prime of his acting career, and his screen presence is as ever dominant. In addition, one of the most underrated actresses from the 70s, Vonetta McGee, appears in the film as Melinda. This movie was McGee's 7th film, and she had already garnered some success from films like "Blacula," "The Lost Man," and "The Great Silence." Afterward, she continued her lucrative career in several Hollywood movies with many versatile roles.
Trivia Question: Which other male actors played alongside Vonetta McGee?
"Melinda" is an excellent movie with a solid cast. The film's writer, Lonne Elder III, is also responsible for writing the prolific movie "Sounder." He also has two hard-to-find films we seek: "Ceremonies in Dark Old Men" (1975) and "Sounder, Part 2" (1976). Both films were T.V. movies. Elder also had a role in "Melinda" as Lt. Daniels.
Jerry Peters and Jerry Butler are responsible for producing the film's soundtrack. It's a good mix of funk and soul, with mostly instrumentation throughout the album. It's definitely above average, so make sure you listen to it. You will not be disappointed.
"Melinda," while not one of the most celebrated black films from the 1970s, still deserves recognition as a good film. It checks off most of the components of an ideal movie. I recommend this movie for viewing.
Director: Hugh A. Robertson Writers: Lonne Elder III (screenplay by), Raymond Cistheri (story by)
Starring Calvin Lockhart, Rosalind Cash, Vonetta McGee, Paul Stevens, Jim Kelly, Rockne Tarkington, Renny Roker, Lonne Elder, Ross Hagen, Jan Tice
Storyline Frankie J. Parker (Calvin Lockhart), a smooth-talking disk jockey, finds Melinda Lewis (Vonetta McGee) brutally murdered in his L.A. apartment. He turns detective to clear his name. Chased and attacked by junkies, dealers, and thugs, Frankie soon learns Melinda is the ex-mistress of a Chicago mobster and has evidence the gangster wants back. Enlisting the aid of a jealous ex-flame (Rosalind Cash) and a karate master from the hood (Jim Kelly, in his screen debut), Frankie sets out to track down the mob boss who framed him and avenge Melinda's death.

Understanding 28ers Line of Reasoning Is Important In Order To Refute Them
Some of the pertinent verses 28ers choose to ignore. (Their philosophy states that Paul no longer went to the Jews in his prison epistles, only exclusively to what they refer to as the “far off Gentiles” who “weren’t high” like the “Greeks” in Paul’s Acts epistles were…. But Acts 18 – 20 depicts Paul’s final missionary journey, and sees him in Ephesus preaching in the synagogues. Acts 18:19And…

You mention on your Ulgurstasta post that you had an Age of Worms soundtrack when you ran the AP in High School. Any other tracks for other encounters/areas?
I actually still have the whole playlist put together! I'll stash it under a cut in the interest of saving space, but some highlights:
The Hellboy soundtrack by Marco Beltrami was sort of the backbone of the piece. The Main Theme was what I used as the main theme for the campaign as a whole, and the themes used for the Nazis in that movie were the cues for the Ebon Triad.
The Full Metal Alchemist soundtrack was also a major role (the original 2004 anime, not Brotherhood). The Homunculus theme was used as Lashonna's theme, in many variations.
Lots of Nobou Uematsu, particularly FFVI and FFVII. I used OC Remix versions of many of those tracks for fights.
The Hall of Harsh Reflections, appropriately, used music from The Thing by Ennio Morricone
Balabar Smenk's theme was the Jabba the Hutt music from Return of the Jedi
The music used for the Kyuss Knights was Spiders and Vinegaroons by Queens of the Stone Age (who were formed from a band named Kyuss)
Musically, Alhaster was Russia. Lots of Russian folk songs for its characters.
The Library of Last Resort was themed around Philip Glass music
Every time they found an artifact, I used The Ecstasy of Gold from the soundtrack to The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Kyuss himself got One Winged Angel for his fight music, so I gave the JENOVA theme to the Harbinger of Worms, who created him.
The full list (all six discs worth, including bonus tracks!) is below the cut.

Since you're into old hollywood, what other actors/singers are still alive from that era? I mean the era of Dean & Jerry etc. I know Tony Bennett and Harry Belafonte are still alive GOD BLESS THEM -born the same year as Jerry and the following year respectively- which gave me hope more people are still alive from their time but I'm not American so I don't know everyone.
Petula Clark, Sidney Poitier, Betty White, Marsha Hunt is 104, Larry Storch, Shirley MacLaine (worked with Dean and Jerry of course), Glynis Johns, Eva Marie Saint, Maria Riva (Marlene Dietrich's daughter was an actress and is 96), June Lockhart, Arlene Dahl, Angela Lansbury, Gina Lollobrigida, Lee Grant, Dick Van Dyke, Mel Brooks, Barbara Rush, Rosemary Harris, Nancy Olson, Ann Blyth, Earl Holliman (was in Visit to a Small Planet with Jerry, and The Sons of Katie Elder with Dean), Henry Silva (worked with Jerry on Cinderfella and Dean on Ocean's Eleven), Terry Moore, Ann Robinson, Vera Miles, Bob Newhart, Don Murray, Joan Plowright, Tippi Hedren, Gene Hackman, Joanne Woodward, Clint Eastwood, Robert Duvall, Claire Bloom (worked with Jerry in Max Rose), Leslie Caron (worked with Jerry in Funny Bones), Mamie Van Doren, William Shatner, Carroll Baker, Mitzi Gaynor, Barbara Eden, Angie Dickinson (worked with Dean in Rio Bravo), Rita Moreno, Piper Laurie, Harriet Andersson (worked with Jerry on The Day The Clown Cried, Joel Grey, Robert Morse, Marisa Pavan, Felicia Farr, Chita Rivera, Kim Novak, Elaine May.
That's people that I can remember are 88 and up.
Steve Lawrence, Johnny Mathis, Bobby Vinton, Frankie Valli, Shirley Jones, Richard Chamberlain, Willie Nelson, Pat Boone are in their late 80's but were famous in the 50's/early 60's. I didn't include people who started working later than the early 60's.

I'm craving Dickensian (Little Dorrit is my favorite) but I want to read something new. Recs?
Thanks for the ask! I hope there’s something on this list you haven’t read to strike your fancy.
The novels of Elizabeth Gaskell: another great social writer of the 19th century, Gaskell’s books are full of charming characters, scandal, and romance, but also searing indictments of structural economic inequality, sexism, and the human toll of the Industrial Revolution. In particular check out North and South and Mary Barton.
Mansions of Misery, by Jerry White: a social history of Marshalsea, the debtors’ prison where much of Little Dorrit takes place, and its more colorful inhabitants.
The Sally Lockhart Trilogy, by Philip Pullman: a fast-paced and atmospheric Victorian adventure series that gets increasingly political as indomitable young Sally faces wickedness and corruption across London’s neighborhoods and social strata.
Vanity Fair, by William Makepeace Thackeray: sprawling, satirical, and witty, Vanity Fair charts the rise of relentless social climber Becky Sharpe and her many friends and enemies.
Uncle Tom’s Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe: Uncle Tom didn’t age as well as Dickens, and today it is much mocked for its syrupy melodrama and cringe-inducing stereotypes of enslaved Black people. But it’s hard to overstate the book’s historical significance as a social novel and flashpoint for the Abolitionist movement. In the American South, it even got a bookseller run out of town and inspired a whole sub-genre of pro-slavery propaganda called “anti-Tom books.”
The Goldfinch, by Dona Tartt: Maureen Corrigan at NPR consigned the work “Dickensian” to the critical scrapheap, but not before taking it for a last epic outing in her review of Tartt’s sprawling, larger-than-life novel.
Sorcerer to the Crown, by Zen Cho: hilarious and sometimes sinister Regency fantasy starring a young sorcerer fighting aristocratic English prejudice with virtue and hard work, and a young woman fighting it with blatant scheming and more than a little magic.
Fingersmith, by Sarah Waters: at once a pulpy Dickensian pastiche and a haunting and original suspense story, feverishly atmospheric and full of twists and turns.
The Way We Live Now, by Anthony Trollope: a whirlwind tour of Victorian London’s incestuous upper class and a biting satire on the confabulations of financial speculation, as one mysterious newcomer turns the lives of all around him topsy turvy.
Cider House Rules, by John Irving: a portrait of complicated men in rural Maine that is also very much an homage to David Copperfield and Great Expectations.
