One thing about Arslan Senki is that we have a few characters who aren't Parsian.
So I am curious about Jaswant's reaction to this foreign county's mythology actually being bleeding true. (What kind of implications does this have for Shindhuran mythology?)
n'awwww Jimsa seems to have left the picture after chapter 123, I think this is the last we see of him and he had a horse packed and ready to go.
Tumblr media
I would love to have seen Jimsa also swearing at the gigantic Parsian Snake Monster. We'd be learning so much colourful Turanian.
In terms of our heroes in chapter 126
Tumblr media
I really need to see Daryun's reaction. I need to know for legal reasons if he is the "If it's real I can kill it, obvs" or if he needs to overcome a "holy shit" moment.
I will patiently be waiting for chapter 127, it's bound to be a good one.
(The downside to this version of the story is there will be no Daryun catching Alfreed on Mt Damavand during an earthquake moment, unless that comes later? I just love him looking out for her)

Arslan Senki Reread
Commentating through brain fog because I seem to have fallen sick, do forgive me if there isn't much!
Tumblr media
I wonder if this riverbank is the same one where Vahriz was killed.
Tumblr media
They've been working so hard, I feel them. I too collapsed of relief when holidays finally came, LOL.
Tumblr media
This panel with the stack of flatbread reminded me of a Tasting History video I watched a while back, quote:
“And while I don't know this for a fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the rather stackable loaves we're making today are the same type of bread mentioned in a document from the reign of Mentuhotep III.
"I advance with an army of three thousand. The battle arena extended to the river in desert, I gave every man a skin of hide and a long stick to carry things as well as two buckets of water, and twenty loaves of bread for each day's ration."
I mean, twenty loaves, they've gotta be pretty stackable to carry them around I think.”
It's from this video:
youtube
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No particular commentary, I just really loved seeing these panels.
Tumblr media
See this discussion I had with @lanonima about Arslan's character, how his development involves not him getting rid of his core traits (kindness) but growing so that he may keep being the person he wishes to be.
Tumblr media
Just accept the appreciation, my boy. You deserve it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wonder what Narsus meant by “All this is but an illusion. Pay it no mind.”

They!

I found a very old piece of art that I posted on other sites a long time ago. I loved experimenting with clothes for Jaswant and conveying his image through them. The first art shows the image of the Black Leopard (black and dark gray colors), the second art shows just formal and rich clothes (he wore them in one of my fanfic works). Cool light turquoise tones with silver patterns highlight his eyes and convey his character.

Farah: “You’re … alive…” Azar: “Great observation, genius.” Farah: “But, you were dead!” Azar: *spitting out blood* “Well luckily you really are a failure.”
----
Gieve: *to Azar* Ten years of friendship and this is the treatment I get!” Azar: “I met you yesterday!”
----
Chabik: “You know, I really feel like we aren’t seeing eye to eye.” Mehrin: “It’s because you’re taller than me, asshole.”
----
Aleksi: “You know, I may be an idiot…” Arslan: “...but?” Aleksi: “No ‘but’, that was it.”
----
Mehrin: “... Just to be sure we’re on the same page.” Vahriz: “Page? We’re not even in the same library!”
----
(this was made by me) Gieve: “You wished you’d be like me~” Azar: “No, I don’t.” Gieve: *with a cocky smile* “Why not? I’m lovely~” Azar: *deadpan*  “If I’d ever be like you, I’d be six feet underground by now.”
----
Daryun: *gently taps table* Narsus: *taps back* Jaswant: “What are they doing?” Azar: “Morse code.” Daryun: *aggressively taps table* Narsus: *slams hands down* “YOU TAKE THAT BACK-!”
BONUS:
From a discord conversation with my friends (translated) Friend A: *talking to their roommate* "Close the door, that will be better. Me: *thinking he was talking to me* "But… my door is already closed." Friend B: "Close it further. " Double Bonus: Friend A: "I was not talking to you, you Idiots!"
Tell me if you want more! (and @tired-reader-writer, you wrote that you are not feeling well. Hope this brightens your day a little!)

Note
Hello! I read the manga about Arslan and I had interesting thoughts about Jaswant and his family (if, of course, it is a family). If Salima is his sister, is she older or younger? As far as I know, this has not been stated anywhere. Personally, I think that if Jaswant is Mahendra’s son, then Salima is his elder sister. Perhaps two or three years, but older. I think so because of the way she takes care of him, it's always in the little things. She treated him to sweets as a child, she ordered him to be given warm clothes when he was waiting for Mahendra from a meeting. And finally, their farewell scene in the manga. Salima looks like a strong point there. She is calm and gentle, she takes his hand and comforts him as if she were older and wiser. She has better self-control. That's why she seems like an older sister to me. To be honest, I like to think that Jaswant is Mahendra's real son.
Yes, I don't remember seeing it mentioned anywhere, but Salima does have a big sister energy to her. She's very self-assured; though as well as her personality part of that is likely due to her status. She doesn't share Jaswant's insecurities, but she must be very aware of them. I like that she seems to do what she can for him. I do wish Jaswant had been able to find out the truth about whether Mahendra was his father rather than carrying that unanswered question with him for the rest of his life.

For the character ask game, 1, 11, and 23 for Jaswant? 👀
Thanks for the ask!!! I'll be honest I went back to reread the manga again cause I suddenly missed it :(
1.First impression of them: I'll be honest, I didn't think much of him at first cause I thought he'd just be another way to show Arslan's merciful character. I was kinda super duper into Rajendra the entire arc cause he's such a lil shit I love him. I think I started REALLY loving in the Gilan Arc. First impressions wise, I really liked his relationship with Mahendra.
11. What’s the first thing you think about when thinking about the character? THIS SCENE:
Tumblr media
ID: a panel from the Arslan Senki manga of Jaswant. He is smiling and saying "What a relief! That means she wasn't living under weight of all that tragedy after all!"ID: a panel from the Arslan Senki manga of Jaswant. He is smiling and saying "What a relief! That means she wasn't living under weight of all that tragedy after all!" END ID
Like, I also love every moment where he's mad at morally questionable people (him and Gieve argue so much in my head), but this scene just exemplifies his character so well. He's a very straight-laced person and I feel like we rarely see him smile, but he gets joy by bringing it to others??!! He's such a selflessly kind-hearted person. Look at him!!! Such a cutie!!
(Also, whenever I think of him I think of Salima because I freaking LOVE her and want more of her.)
23. Future headcanon: okay so I haven't read the novel so I don't know what becomes of him. I like the idea that after Arslan becomes king, he stays as his retainer but returns to Shindura often to visit his home and his sister. I like to imagine that his existance is why Pars and Shindura have such a great alliance well after the treaty's time limit is over. Like, Jaswant would be sad if he had to choose between his country and his friends -> Salima adores Jaswant and doesn't want him to be sad -> Rajendra respects the hell out of Salima (read: he's scared shitless) -> peace! I know that's now how it works but I CAN DREAM!
Thank you again for the ask! Have a wonderful day <33

Episode 136 - Lady Problems, or Problem Ladies? Pataakha, Good Luck Jerry, and Darlings
We do our best to not feel the wrath of these women scorned as we check out three recent(ish) black comedies with female leads. Also lots of good music recommendations in this one.
Notes:
Black Comedy
That Mel Brooks quote was basically right: “Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.”
Pushing The Envelope: Being Cyrus and Delhi Belly, with Suchin Mehrotra
Not dependent on wordplay and puns, so might work better for people who don’t speak Hindi?
Pataakha
Everyone understands the Wario analogy
Radhika Madan
“Cows Around”, by Corn Lund and the Hurtin’ Albertans
Maybe both Pataakha and Jojo’s were influenced by Sabai?
SPOILER ZONE: 24:21- 27:45
(INTERVAL (“Paracetamol” from Good Luck Jerry)
Good Luck Jerry
“Girl, You Have No Faith In Medicine” by the White Stripes
Kolamaavu Kokila
Maybe the South Indian film fans were right?
Knockoff Pankaj Tripathi?
Comic book imagery as lazy storytelling
Remake Heartbreakers with Jahnvi Kapoor and Tabu, you cowards
Darlings
The Year of Shefali Shah
“Goodbye Earl” by the Chicks
Next time: school movies

Arslan Senki Reread
Tumblr media
Adorable lil trot! Look at that smile!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arslan and physical touch. He's so tender. I doubt he was given physical affection in the palace— maybe before he entered the palace but definitely not after. Headcanon that he'd d r a p e himself all over his loved ones if he were raised in a loving environment/family where physical affection is freely given.
He makes me wanna cry for some reason.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y'know what, that's a mature outlook. Bravos to you, Zaravant. (Now if only Zandeh could learn that...)
And of course I kept Jaswant's face in. I'm fond of him.
Tumblr media
They're bonding! And yeah, what Zaravant did was Big Balls Energy and Jaswant... makes me sad bc his life had always been undervalued before he came to Arslan, y'know? Gadhevi isn't exactly a kind superior.
Tumblr media
Guiscard's doubts are piling and piling. He doesn't know Team Arslan's numbers, and that's crucial. That was the entire reason he didn't circle back to attack again after the battle. He didn't know. Many of Narsus' strategies involve fudging or omitting information to suit his needs, y'know? Knowledge is power and I give you none over me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I might be just stating the obvious but Farangis sounds so sarcastic and mocking here, I love it.
Tumblr media
Very cool panel of Farangis! She makes for such a good leader. I love her so much 😭😭😭😭

The eyes of the Shinduran characters in the anime "Arslan senki" are interesting. I decided to depict the eyes of significant Shinduran characters in close-up and in detail. They are bright, like wine or precious stones.

Their primary responsibility is to administer anesthesia – a combination of medications that induce temporary loss of sensation or consciousness – to ensure patients remain pain-free and unconscious during surgical procedures.
By carefully monitoring vital signs and adjusting anesthesia levels as needed, anesthesia doctors play a crucial role in maintaining patient stability and minimizing the risk of complications during surgery.
Anesthesia doctors are not only skilled clinicians but also advocates for patient advocacy and safety. They prioritize patient-centered care, ensuring that patients are well-informed about their anesthesia options, potential risks, and expected outcomes.
