Bo Nickal arm triangles Jamie Pickett in the 1st round
Also think we got cup shot #4 on the fight. Could be wrong but when Nickal had Pickett up on the fence it looked like he might have kneed him in the groin.
Any who, we got our sacrifice. Sadly for Pickett, 185 isn’t like 145/155 so we’re not getting an Aaron Pico moment. It was quick and easy for Bo. Takedown then arm triangle. Keep giving him this level of competition I guess. Josh Fremd? Jacob Malhoun? Duško Todorović?

Bo Nickal lives up to the Hype and Makes UFC debut Look Easy
#UFC #MMA #UFC285 #BoNickal
Bo Nickal, one of the most exciting prospects in the UFC today, lived up to the hype as he made his much-anticipated debut at UFC 285. As a three-time NCAA Division I national champion, it was no surprise that his grappling prowess was on full display against Jamie Pickett. Firstly, from the moment he entered the octagon, it was clear that Nickal was ready to make a statement. He started the…

Accidental low blows happen in fights all the time, but it’s weird that the referee, the three-man broadcast team, and every media outlet I’ve read so far *all* missed this obvious one. Or chose to miss it. If it’s your job to tell the story of a fight, how do you not mention that something like this happened?

30 Covers, 30 Days 2023: Day 12
Tumblr media
Representing day 12 is The Shell Game by YWP Writer Stella Holt, and it's a wonderful Thriller/Suspense novel. This cover was designed by the amazing returning designer, Victoria Pickett!
The Shell Game
A chef. A range officer. A museum curator.
Three people.
One spy.
Jamie McNamara is a bounty hunter but she doesn’t hunt people. Not after a job-gone-wrong three years ago. So when she’s approached with a mission to find Derek Knox, a rogue sleeper agent, and get him back to his employers, she fears the contractor knows more about her past than she’d like. But unfortunately, he pays well, and she’s broke.
She accepts the job, but quickly realizes there’s more to it than she thought. The rogue agent is currently hiding under one of three potential covers. Her task is to find out which two are innocents, and which one is the spy.
But the deeper Jamie gets into the job, the more questions arise. At first, all three people appear harmless. But then not only does Jamie find questionable connections with one of them, all three of their innocence is put in doubt.
There’s only one spy. But what if the other two aren’t all they seem, either?
About the Author
When not stressing out about how few hours are in the day, Stella Holt loves finding beauty in Creation; from the mystique of a caliginous night, to the simple wonder of existence.

About the Designer
Victoria is a recovering design educator working in the Mayor's Office of Urban Analytics and Innovation at the City of Cleveland. She made the leap from academia to city government almost a year ago. She works with data analysts in data visualization and creates infographics. She enjoys contributing to a team whose work is doing good. This is her fifth year designing a cover for NaNoWriMo.
Cover Design Process:
This year. we gave designers the optional prompt to explain their design process for the cover! Here's Victoria's:
The title immediately made me think of each character peeking out from under a shell in the classic shell game. But I wanted to push that idea and created three silhouettes in hotel windows with awnings that look like shells.

“Sex Education” producer Eleven has cast “Ten Pound Poms,” a drama series from “Brassic” creator Danny Brocklehurst for BBC and Australian streamer Stan.
Michelle Keegan (“Brassic”), Faye Marsay (“Game of Thrones”) and Warren Brown (“The Responder”) lead the cast alongside Australian actors Rob Collins (“Mystery Road”), Leon Ford (“Elvis”), Declan Coyle (“Long Black”), David Field (“Shantaram”), Stephen Curry (“Hounds of Love”), Hattie Hook (“Savage River”), Finn Treacy (“The Portable Door”) and Emma Hamilton (“The Tudors”).
The six-part series follows a group of Brits as they leave dreary post-war Britain in 1956 to embark on a life-altering adventure on the other side of the world, in sun-soaked Australia. But life down under isn’t exactly the idyllic dream the new arrivals have been promised.
Brocklehurst said: “ ‘Ten Pounds Poms’ demands an ensemble cast that we are always rooting for, actors we love and want to succeed. I am thrilled to have found those actors. It is a delight to welcome so much exciting Australian talent as well as working with the brilliant Faye and Warren for the first time. This is my third outing with the wonderful Michelle Keegan and I’m positive we will make another winner together.”
“Ten Pound Poms” is produced by Eleven for BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and Stan in Australia. Tommy Bulfin executive produces for the BBC and Amanda Duthie and Cailah Scobie for Stan. Joel Wilson and Jamie Campbell executive produce for Eleven, and Olivia Trench will co-executive produce the series. Joining Danny Brocklehurst on the writing team are Ryan Griffen, Smita Bhide and Ava Pickett. It is directed by Jamie Stone and Ana Kokkinos. Sony Pictures Television (SPT) will distribute the series worldwide.
Filming is taking place in Australia. The series will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K. and as a Stan original series in Australia.
