Do you listen to music when you write?

no. my little animal brain must have complete silence in order to function. i'm very easily overstimulated and even if i have it on and manage to ignore it, the moment i leave the Writing Zone for even a second, i'm extremely irritated and frustrated. DOWN WITH BACKGROUND MUSIC

Do you have a trusted beta?

NO BETA WE DIE LIKE MEN!! honestly i'm too egoistic to have a beta, i tend to just assume i got it right the first time anyway. most of my fics are unbeta'd, although a few were done by hayla (@cauxtion)

First person or third person?

Third person. Personally I hate reading fics in first person so I don't write them either, but it has been known to happen.

Past tense or present tense?

Usually if I want something to have an emotional tone, I'll use present tense, whereas cracky or otherwise shallower fics are past tense.

How long do your fics tend to be? Multi-chapter or one-shots?

Short! Mostly one-shots, mostly about 1.5k or thereabouts. Plot is not my strong point.

Rarepairs? Yea or nay?

I don't tend to write them and usually don't actively ship them, but i'm not against them or anything. i just prefer the ships that make sense to *me*.

In character or out of character?

I try SO HARD to make everything in character, but the problem is, I write UA's (universe alterations) so the characters are in situations they have never canonically been in. it's a lot of guesswork, and i'm sure it turns out ooc regularly!

Favourite trope?

Well, obviously, i'm a SUCKER for a good old single father figure ... reluctant father figure ... doting father figure ... found family, y'all. found family.

Do you like reading/writing Omegaverse?

Have read it, will probably read it in the future. Would 100% never write it. Not my thing, really, but lots of love to the people who do!

OTP(s)?

It's endless, dear god. Just in haikyuu, there's iwaoi, ushiten, kghn, daisuga, skts, kyouhaba, matsuhana, kuroken, bokuaka ....... there is literally no end

I literally hate it so much throw it away bury it put it in a nuclear reactor i hate it so much. i will only read it for the Greater Good of a fic i'm very invested in

How do you come up with fic ideas?

Usually i'll sit there and think, i want to write a fic. what shall i write it about? and then i get an idea and then i write it. simples.

Are you a planner?

Nope. there's a reason my fics usually peter out at about 2k words, and it's because i've run out of ideas since i didn't plan anything :D

Do you title your chapters?

Not usually, but it depends on the context. sometimes i'm trying to copy the style of a book (like percy jackson) or the chapters are essentially standalone stories, in which case there'd be titles.

Overused words or phrases that just make your eye twitch?

i don't have any! the only thing that annoys me is when native english speakers try to use common english-speaker phrases but get them wrong. how do you even manage that??

What's something you struggle with as a writer?

character/story depth. my writing it just ' they bantered and then they went home'. WHERE ARE THE FEELINGS??

Any writing advice?

Write what you want to write! there's no point forcing yourself to continue things or start things that you're not interested in. you're here to have fun, so let yourself have fun and don't feel obligation to do anything. and if you end up not writing for months on end, so what? you have to do what works for you.

💜 This is Yeonie's favorite pair of jammies!! Often, he refuses to wear anything else!! You even had to buy multiple pairs of Spider-Man jammies because he wanted to wear them every single night!!

💜What puts Yeonjun to sleep? Rubbing your hand comfortingly on his back until he falls asleep works every time though it has to be firm since he can get a little ticklish.

💜 Needs at least two bedtime stories tho (he will beg for more) they help him have happy dreams.Thats if you can can pull him away from the tv in the evenings.

💜 Baby moves around a lot in his sleep and so he ends up kicking the bed sheets off accidentally! So you have to make sure to tuck him in bed extra tightly!!

Soobin

Age: 5 years old

💙 If Binnie wasn't such a good boy, he'd do just about anything to get out of wearing clothes to sleep. BUT- since he has to, he prefers giant sweaters and shirts that nearly cover his shorts that he wears to be each night. Think sweater paws with his pale yellow shorts and giant sky blue sweater!! Your giant bunny baby boy loves to feel tiny.

💙 Since he hates wearing clothes so much, he sometimes tries to kick them off in his sleep. But he doesn't do it on purpose! He promises!

💙 Binnie prefers firm pats on his back over rubs.

💙 He also like to be sang to sleep while patting his back rhythmically to endearing lullabies like "You are my sunshine". It makes him feel safe and warm so he can fall asleep peacefully.

💖 Like Binnie, Beomie hates wearing clothes. But unlike Binnie, he's not afraid to be an absolute brat about it.

💖 Beomie has to be chased around after bathtime in order to get him into his jammies. The only thing you managed to convince Gyu to wear are the prettiest pink nightgowns. Reason why “girly” nightgowns.

💖 If he's restless, all the pats, rubs and rocking will be useless to get him down for the night. But if he had to choose, rubs would be his favorite.

💖 He's a sleepy boy but never when he's supposed to be, he's absolutely full of energy during bedtime! Read Hide and Sleep for more!!

💛 Mr. Independent doesn't want your help at all "I wanna do it!" He dresses himself. He likes button ups because he put so much time and effort into being able to button them all up correctly. Makes him feel like a big boy! But don't forget his bedtime song!! (Yes those are Pokémon jammies)

💛 He loves your voice, it's so comforting to him. So you have to sing to him this song every night before bed. It's gotta be this one and only song or he won't sleep. He’ll also hum along with you until he falls asleep -> Depend on You - Twice

💛 “Oh, I’ll hold your hands”

💛 He also prefers being rocked gently. You can do this by spooning him and rocking back and fourth into a nice rhythm as you sing softly into his ear. Or having him face you and wrap both your arms around him so he can nuzzle into your chest and curl up close.

💛 He likes to sleep under the covers and curl up into you like a kitty.

💛 You have to check if he's actually sleeping if you need to get out of bed. Sometimes he has a habit of sleeping with his eyes partially open

Hueningkai

Age: 2 years old

💚 Baby has an early bedtime. He's got his whole nighttime routine even though he'd never admit it. You can tell it's time when he starts getting clingy; Nuzzling against you, lots of tummy rubbing and quiet baby.

💚 He has his bedtime snack, juice(not too much since he’s the most likely to have an accident) and bathtime but he's barely awake during his baths most of the time. You get him into one of his favorite onesies (mostly green ones) and lay him down with a plushy under his arm and his much needed paci (or even better, your thumb). you better be ready to go to bed early too because you're his favorite plushy that he can never sleep without.

💚 He prefers gentle, soothing rubs over pats or being rocked but petting his head will win every time.

💚 On the off chance he isn't sleepy come bed time (rare) throw on a Disney princess movie and he'll fall asleep before the second song.

💚 Little Beomie absolutely hates getting into pjs but Kai is opposite! You cant get him out of them! He's always wearing his onesies when he doesn't have to leave the house.

💚 Which can sometimes be helpful because the biggest signifier that he's hungry is when he starts chewing on the sleeve of his oversized onesie.

Uhhhhh well obviously I'm loving the gojo & megumi father-son shit at the moment, it really heals the depression. ALSO @grungeeuvu (alt. account @grungiiuvu) has gotten me back into MXTX, especially TGCF, so fengqing is top of my romantic ship list at the moment. I keep meaning to write something for them. Whoopsies.

the rats are going to absolutely hate this announcement, but ushioi and oikage. Hate them both. oisuga? sure. iwaoi? love it. oihina? don't see it as a long term thing, but don't care. even atsuoi is passable. But both ushioi and oikage really irriate me for zero reason.

i hear lots of good things about my JNT Rulebook, which is a whole load of crack. Also, for AOT i wrote Chaos Theory, which earned comments like "I had no idea funny fics were possible for this fandom". If you are a long-term aot girlie, I am so sorry for your loss.

Uh, I'm not sure? The first fandom I contributed to was PJO. I was there for maybe two years, and that's probably my record. I'm just over one year on haikyuu now. I'M SORRY I JUST KEEP CHANGING INTERESTS

G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?

My very first OTP was probably Eadric & Emma from The Frog Princess series. It doesn't really have a fandom but god, I loved those books... OR Ash & Serena from Pokemon. They were good too.

I mainly watch anime at the moment and usually they have more active fandoms, so I'm happy to stay with them. With books, you can never be sure that anyone else has ever read them.

Nope, because I am good at staying away from scary people. #slay

From Haikyuu, it's got to be Hinata, hasn't it? And he's weirdly underrated, considering he's literally the main character.

From other fandoms, I love Yona from Yona of the Dawn. She goes from literal spoiled princess to some kind of warrior queen, PLUS she gains emotional maturity. May we all grow to be like her.

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves.

You know what, guys? I do think Goshiki's cute. I do understand wanting to put him in your pocket. Personally, I don't, but I totally see it.

M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.

Sugawara. He's top tier friend material - chaotic, funny, caring, and would definitely feed into your delulu.

N - Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).

My main fandom is probably haikyuu, so I wish I saw more of:

Love for main characters. It sounds weird, but the fandom is full of people who have a pet side character who barely has any lines. This is GOOD, all character deserve appreciation, but can we get some applause for hinata??

Love for rarepairs. This sounds even stranger, considering my last point, but we need to get used to letting people ship whoever the fuck they want. As long as it's legal.

O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?

After a good old shuffle of my 94 hour playlist, I got Bad Romance by lady gaga. This is gonna come out of left field because I've never mentioned this fandom before, but it's sherliam from moriarty the patriot.

P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).

I've mentioned this to friends before, but we totally need a TGCF hosptial au. Mu Qing is a surgeon, Feng Xin is a physiotherapist, Xie Lian is either a GP or an anesthesiologist, and Hua Cheng is some random reception guy. Mu Qing is always bullying Feng Xin for not being a 'real doctor'. Hualian are married. you see where I'm going.

Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.

Harry Potter, for obvious reasons.

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

I would die for Nobara & Itadori & Megumi. They deserved to be happy forever.

I wrote whole sections of fanfiction based off my headcanon that Megumi has flat hair like Toji, but he styles it spiky to be like Gojo. I KNOW the canon disproves it. I don't actually care.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending? 

Nope, because I am non-confrontational and uncreative.

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

I'm going niche on this one - well, more like going into fandoms my followers probably aren't into.

Ayame Sohma, Fruits Basket. Loving brother, perfect example of how to make reparations, and also literally fabulous. And gay.

Ooharano, All Out!. Voice by Ian Sinclair, very good at his sport, hilariously sarcastic. Emotional backstory that was just never mentioned again???

Siatrich Wynknight, The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up At The Duke's Mansion. Very funny, likes to be a bit evil for the giggles, thinks it's funny when his younger brother endangers national relations. Gay.

V - Which character do you relate to most?

GUYS I HAVE NO IDEA. I'm probably closest to Bokuto or Kageyama - and that seems odd, because they're different people, but that's how I am.'

Also Gojo. Don't tell my readers I said that.

Exes to Lovers, my beloathed. Hate it so much, I can't even explain why.

I guess I've always been interested in the idea of a true morally grey character, because sometimes there are characters that are described as morally grey, or even evil, when they're actually Just A Guy (*cough* Oikawa *cough*). The only character I can think of is probably Dazai from BSD. Everyone has an opinion and very few of them are correct. There is no way you can say he is a bad person, because many of his issues come from the fact that he is an orphan, raised by the mafia, and someone who took the opportunity to leave when prompted. Also, in his life after the mafia, he made a genuine effort to make good on his promises and fix his life, including saving Atsushi.

HOWEVER, you can't say he's a totally good person. He lived well in the mafia, because he didn't care about killing people and perhaps even enjoyed it, depending on how you view certain scenes. Many people would say that he's still not on anyone's side, he's only on his own side. This is debatable, but it's still there. PLUS you've got his continuation of the cycle of abuse through Akutagawa, and his willingness to pretend to betray his friends in order to get the outcome he wants. Everyone else is just a pawn to him.

I'm still undecided on him, but I'm proud of every fan that says "he's morally grey" rather than cutting it up into black and white. Remember that BSD was written for the stray dogs, not the ones who have lived happily all this time...

DVD commentary on this, please and thank you

I. Have never heard a DVD commentary. So let's TRY!!

I feel like iwaoi are the type of people to never actually tell each other they're best friends. it's just assumed. they're secure in their friendship (most of the time) and they're confident they ARE best friends, but they hardly ever say it, especially iwaizumi. However, iwaizumi is also super proud of oikawa, pretty much just for existing. he definitely tells people "yeah, he's my best friend :)" when oikawa isn't around. So I wanted Oikawa to know how much he's treasured.

I ALSO wanted to use this paragraph to emphasize how long they've been together. they start by saying ten years, which oikawa is quick to correct to fifteen; they're proud of having so much history together. later on, iwaizumi then rounds this up to twenty years, which oikawa makes fun of him for, but secretly it makes them both feel fuzzy inside to think that their lives have been intertwined for that long...

TL;DR: Iwaizumi and Oikawa have been best friends since before the earth began. They are both very proud of this. Neither of them like to say it.

What's the most meaningful comment you've ever received?

Any comment saying 'THIS IS MY NEW FAVOURITE THING' ... I'm lucky enough to have received a few, and I'm proud to have converted readers to my various delulu agendas.

HOWEVER, in recent times, I got a comment on The Final Incident. It was very long, but it essentially boiled down to the commenter not having a good relationship with their family, and Gojo & Megumi having healed them a little. I thought that was beautiful, and I was so honoured to be part of their comfort...

What's your favourite plot twist you've ever written?

I don't write plots, or twists, so this is hard. In fact, I've come to the unfortunate and very boring conclusion that this is an impossible question :(

Which of your fics is your pride and joy?

The Megumi-Isn't-Breathing Incident. It's one of my sadder fics and not at all what I usually write, which makes me extra proud because I think it came out beautifully. Sometimes it's awkward to read the comments, though, because they just point out that my gojo kinnie is showing...

What genre of writing comes easiest to you?

Chaotic fix-its where nothing goes wrong and everyone's friends. I like to think I'm good at writing ridiculous, pointless dialogue that goes on for years.

What's a line or paragraph of yours that you're proud of?

Gojo Satoru is the strongest, he is untouchable, he can do anything anywhere any time. He has Six Eyes and ten fingers and four limbs but he isn't quite human, is what he always thinks.

What is your perfect writing environment?

Silence, no people around me, but in a comfortable place like my room. I am easily distractable and my best work is bashed out in one sitting.

My Gojo & Megumi series. I wrote it because it's niche and there isn't enough content, but suddenly it's become my most popular work? I'm The Gojo and Megumi Guy to some of my readers. It's insane. I think more people are coming to the fandom due to Ep5 of Season 2, but it's still mad ....

What motivates you to write?

A good idea. If I have an idea, I can't rest until it's written down somehow, no matter how hapehazardly. If I'm uninspired, absolutely nothing will happen, even if the plot is all pre-planned out.

What's your greatest fear as a fanfic writer?

a) being scraped for AI or having someone steal my work, b) being permanently banned from A03, and c) Being Discovered by irls.

i only have one unposted wip, and that's the final incident for my megumi & gojo series. i'm gonna miss them.

i have TONS of posted wips that I keep forgetting about; fight or flight, a fluff/chaos thing about baby hakyona; a spontaneous combustion which was gonna be a solangelo long fic but i've kinda given up; wait, what? which is a PJO chatfic; bright eyes (burning like fire) which is an x reader (i am not ashamed); the megumi-is-ill incident which is meant to get a part 2.... it's endless. i'm really bad for giving up on things T-T

10. Do you work on multiple wips or stick to one fic at a time?

I go as the mood strikes me. I have several on the go at all times but I normally only actively write for one, but if I get hit by an idea for another i go for that. I usually only write in one-shots nowadays anyway.

15. What's your favourite time to write?

I prefer the morning, but ideas prefer to hit me late at night.

20. Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?

Usually I'll write vaguely canon-verse but if I have to tweak something to make it fit what I want - often to make it happier - then I don't mind doing it. I call them UAs (universe alterations).

25. What's your favourite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?

Ah. We're meant to have a process? I bash it out and then post it. You can probably tell. There is only Idea, and then Write. My favourite part of that is Write.

30. How much do you edit your fics? Do you edit as you write or wait until you finish the first draft?

I edit as I write, post it, realise something's wrong, edit that a bit, post again, repeat until I can't find any more problems. My writing is usually so short it's finished reasonably quickly.

35. What's your favourite fic you've posted?

The Megumi-Isn't-Breathing Incident. I'm genuinely so proud of it, I reread it yesterday and I honestly think it's the closest to genius I'm gonna get.

40. What is your favourite world that you've created for a fic?

Uhhhhhh, i don't really tend to world build? If I had to pick one I'd pick the world in which iwaoi may or may not be telepathic. never gets old

45. What genre/trope do you tend to write the most?

Family fluff!!!!!!!!! If I've seen it, I've spotted the single father and I've put him in a fic. It's necessary, I promise.

50. How would you best describe your writing style?

Chaotic? Dialogue-heavy? Clearly not proofread? I used to write romance, but then I realised my style really didn't suit it.

55. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

Everyone is always "cuffing the back of [someone's] head" a lot. And rolling their eyes. And bickering. It's always the reluctant character who loves the other one in their deepest of hearts. Like Iwaizumi. He's fun to write.
