As the stream of strangers finally slowed, Matcha finally realized how much of the day has gone by.

"Gosh, we should probably take a lunch break," Matcha decided. "We know you already ate, but would you like more food, Inaris?"

"Nom!" Inari squeaked. "Nomnomnom!"

Matcha chuckled, lifting Inari onto one of their heads. "What do you feel like today? Berries?"

"Ahhh!" Inari gripped Matcha's fur with one paw and began pointing up with the other. "Uppie!"

Confused, Matcha looked up, careful to make sure Inari wouldn't tumble off. In the sky, there was something darting around, too far up to really get a good look at it. At least until it suddenly stopped in midair.

It wasn't flapping, so clearly it wasn't using wings to fly. It was purple too, a strange color for the desert. Matcha squinted up the purple creature, trying to figure out what it was doing, when it suddenly started moving. Right at them.

Matcha grabbed Inari and started booking it. Even if the creature wasn't after them, it was still best not to be in the blast zone when it hit earth. And it was going FAST, the shockwave of it hitting the ground strong enough to knock them over.

It took Matcha a moment to recover, and by the time they did, the creature was standing over them. Was that a Meowscarada? No, wrong color and too bottom heavy. Not to mention the super long tail. It looked like one of their earlier visitors, but the color was very different.

"Oops!" the feline creature said, accent definitely foreign. "Sorry, little guys. I thought you were someone else. I'm not too good at finding them like this."

"'Them'? 'Like this'?" Matcha asked, still a bit in shock.

The creature ignore them, or perhaps didn't hear them. "Hey, have you little bunnies seen...?"

They suddenly trailed off, staring at the little bundle of fur Matcha had clutched close to their bodies. Inari was wriggling against Matcha, squeaking indignantly at having been confined in any way. Matcha tried to shield Inari with their bodies, but the little Mew was too slippery and wormed their way out.

Before Matcha could even cry out to stop them, Inari darted over to the stranger, paws up.

Pride Pictures will aim to bring queer cinema to North American audiences with no language or regional barriers. The company’s launch comes as representation for LGBTQ+ communities is increasing, but the challenge of getting indie queer films into theaters and onto streaming platforms grows.

“There’s a lot of wonderful films made by amazing queer filmmakers from around the world that never get seen by North American audiences other than in festivals, and I’m excited to help some of these films find the audiences they deserve. I really feel that we need to bring light to these amazing films by amazing filmmakers that are underrepresented in the filmmaking community,” Federgreen said in a statement.

Cooper will head up acquisitions at Pride Pictures after serving as director of programming at Durham Film Festival for five years, a producer on the documentary feature and Mexican-Canadian co-production El Gran Salto and working as a festival manager at genre film distributor Raven Banner Entertainment.

“Given the climate that we are in, films can play an important role in education as well as entertaining many,” Cooper added in his own statement.

The Finnish feature Light Light Light from director Inari Niemi, being introduced to international buyers at EFM by Intramovies, is set in the spring of 1986 when, amid the Chernobyl nuclear explosion, Mimi, a young woman, in a small Finnish village fills the life of 15-year-old Mariia with radiating light. Twenty years later, Mariia returns home to take care of her sick mother and memories of that meaningful summer start to surface.

Rhys Howard’s Eudaimonia stars Alexandra Dawkins as Prudence, a young artist with telepathic abilities searching for connection and meaning in a world of her own eccentric design.

Pride Pictures plans a summer 2024 release for Light, Light, Light and Eudaimonia.

Three ships: I'll go with one for each of my current main fandoms, so Jocasta Nu/Plo Koon for Star Wars (I am still here thriving on my pool floaty for that one), Dick Grayson/Wally West for DC, and Danny Fenton/Jason Todd for DCxDanny Phantom (yes that is still DC, no I do not care, there's enough crossover fics that it practically counts as it's own fandom ok.)

First ever ship: Uuuuh. Uuuuh. Y'know. I cannot remember for the life of me? Genuinely it might've been NaruMitsu, aka Miles Edgeworth/Phoenix Wright, from my original re-dive into fandom hell outside of just playing games.

Everything about that is a weird thought. I consider myself to have been in fandom stuff since like 2015, I didn't get into Ace Attorney until like 2018 or so because a friend was streaming their playthrough of it? And it was like another year or two later before I found that first fic (Saturation by TiedyedTrickster on AO3, lovely fic, genuinely wonderful). But I really can't remember anything else I actually actively shipped earlier than that? Like maybe there were a few things but I seem to remember that a lot of that kinda stuff was very much me glancing at a fic and going 'oh hey that chemistry's neat' but not really caring about it outside of that fic. Huh. Anyway.

Last song: Immortalized, Hidden Citizens.

Last movie: soft error sounds so I don't watch movies because my attention span is dogshit. I think the last thing that I actually full-force sat down and watched all the way through without my brain wandering off entirely was Moana, and that was over a year ago?

Man I need to watch more movies. I'm pretty sure I've got a watchlist somewhere.

Currently reading: I'm kinda sorta on a book break at the moment in that there are a lot of books I could be reading, my shelf is super full, but my brain is not currently capable of reading new things and so they're all sitting there glaring at me from a distance. If we're willing to talk fics though I'm rereading Commander by Drich with is a Planetary Annihilation Self Insert and also fucking incredible like everything else they write.

Currently consuming: I have my big jug of water (it's a 1L mason jar that I repurposed for drinking from because it means I actually remember to drink things) and am contemplating having a mooch through my snack box for chocolate.

Currently craving: the inari nigiri and little mochi balls that they have at the Yo! sushi bar thing in my local Tesco. I had to go shopping earlier for some bits and thought about getting some for lunch but didn't cause I have food at home. Jokes on me, I guess, now I really want it but it's currently tipping it down with rain and I'm not going out in that to go get food when I've already eaten.

Kurumamachi Inari Shrine

This lovely little surprise is located about a block away from the Sengakuji temple where the 47 Ronin are allegedly buried, at the "Sengakuji" intersection. And to be honest I did my discovery while watching a live stream. It was like being a kid again trying to get Dad to stop so I can have a look, a virtual visit even.

The link has some info and you will need to use a translator. Their info on Kurumamachi Inari Shrine is about halfway down. No idea why the worship hall was lifted up off the street level.

Just finding information was hard enough, and like so many other locations in Japan, there is next to nothing in English. Me: Internet, show me information about this shrine. Internet: you wanted to look at the pretty pictures on Pinterest, right?

Me watching the streamer: there's an Inari shrine, it's right there, it'll only take a couple minutes... dad, can we stop, dad, Inari shrine, can we stop, please, please dad... as I devolve into a little kid in the back seat of the car. Virtually speaking.

inari's favorite food is any meat heavy stew; she likes lamb and beef the most. it has to have a flavorful broth, too. spice is also necessary.

inari wears a lot of dresses, typically very frilly or extravagant. if not a dress then a simple sweater and skirt is her go to. she always wears heels or boots which are all custom made to fit her feet as she has paws and not human feet.

inari has a few nervous habits such as playing with her hair or tucking it behind her ear. she'll also stroke or comb her own tails with her fingers. she may complain of nausea in extreme situations.

inari's signature scent is powdery, balsamic, sweet and honey with vanilla and woody undertones.

when not at her shrine, she spends a lot of time by water sources like ponds, lakes or rivers and streams. she likes to swim, a lot or just spends her time watching the water flow.

incomplete list of all the fun i had in japan on my holiday

the bus trip from narita airport to shinjuku, the scenery was so gorgeous, i got to see my first cherry blossoms and first part of the city

sorakara-chan the mascot at the skytower, they also have nice lemonade there, and it was fun to walk on the floor windows too

the shogun's gardens are so cool you can hear the martial artists train - the imperial s garden was very nice as well, the azelias were in full bloom

karaoke with three of the others on the tour with me was tonnes of fun as well

also at karaoke i was the only one who could speak Japanese so I was ordering drinks for the other girls and had A VERY INTENSE “conversation” with the older waiter who spoke no English so it was very unintentionally funny experience to try and convey that i wanted two bottles (nipikki) of sake but I said nisai instead (so 2 years). also the Spanish-Irish chica said the sake that they/we ordered (I was soft drinks only) was the best she ever had

i loved having chanko for lunch and the similar ones as well (though the himeji oden set wasn't my favourite...)

asakusa shrine was so busy but i liked the balancing of the shinto and buddist faiths

meiji shrine was beautiful, the trees there are gorgeous and heartfelt, we also saw a wedding procession!!! the bride and groom looked stunning in their traditional ware

the cruise night was good too

IKEBUKURO MY BELOVED. the area was nerd heaven. i saw fellow yumejoshi god bless, bought a giant smoliv plush at the pokemon centre, and stuff like that yeah

the inari shrine/thousand torii gate shrine is definitely on my come back to list since there wasn't enough time to do the full summit

shoutout to the hotel we stayed at in mishima city, easily my favourite hotel, them soft beds went a long way, not to mention we could see mt fuji at breakfast

(for me personally that hotel was even outclassing the five star hotel we stayed at which is a highlight and also was home to foreign dignitaries and celebrities :o

mt fuji. just. mt fuji in general. absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking, stunning, thank god we did not climb it as i was coming down with a cold the day we were meant to but mt fuji meanwhile was coming down with an avalanche risk so only looking for afar

oshina hokkai is gorgeous, i would love to come back there at peak with more time to wander

i also loved the little historical village, i can't remember its name rn but i loved seeing the different girls day and children's day displays, the tanuki statues and the scarecrows, the rubber duckies in the various streams, too

the various tanuki statues i saw all over the place deserve their own bullet point tbh

making soba was fun but i didn’t actually enjoy eating the soba, i wanted to try yakisoba though

i'm kinda blanking at this 3/4 mark because all i really remember is the bullet train journeys which are cool i guess but i'm not a train nerd like my dad lol, it just felt like taking a normal train to me

the osaka okonomiyaki lunch was my favourite lunch, probably

i loved the kyoto hotel we had dinner at too, they gave me extra on desserts. and also bread. carbs yippie

ooh the italian cafe we had lunch at in shibuya was also really good actually so i'll mention it here too

kiyomizu shrine was my Absolute Favourite Highlight, it was gorgeous and had so much history behind it, the shops are good too, i hope to visit it again one day, would especially love to visit in autumn/maple leaf season. also I got to drink from the fountains of long life, beauty, and wisdom which is really significant because normally that's impossible to do due to queues/demands. and also all the buddha with their bibs is adorable.

also at kiyomizu, one of my fellow tour goers did something so unintentionally hilarious, i want to add it. this guy was very cautious, always masked up and sanitising so we were all very surprised to go watch him fill up a ladle at the fountain... only for him to immediately dump it into the basin below instead of drinking it like I and a couple others did

miyajima island is amazing!! i definitely want to go back there in autumn one day. i had momiji manju with custard filling and it was so delicious. i visted the art museum there and the attendant on the second level gave me an Exclusive Special Experience™️ because I managed to convey that whilst I couldn't speak Japanese on account of my sore throat, i can understand it so they gave me a big art spiel and then turned off the lights so i could see this one silk screen literally glow in the dark like the moon

the himeji gardens were my favourite set of gardens!! i saw a cat and lots of pretty ponds

threw coins in okiku well at the himeji castle (well's haunted) and the architecture of himeji whilst a nightmare for a flat footer like me is awful but its still very beautiful i'm probably missing some stuff but i've had a big, big week and a bit in japan

The most famous country for Skijoring is Switzerland. The very first skijoring race occurred in the Engadine valley was in 1906. Skijoring became so famous and prevalent that races were moved onto a pre-arranged track.

It is a type of recreational activity or sport usually played in winter, in which a person sits on a horse, a dog, or other animals and is then pulled by them and skis on the snow. The word skijoring means ski driving. It is also used as a mode of transportation but primarily as a sport that involves competition.

In Scandinavian countries, skiing was top-rated, and people in those countries still enjoyed it. In places like Tromso, Norway, Inari, etc., they practice Skijoring by reindeer. It is not only restricted to humans, but also many dog breeds also participate in Skijoring. It just requires skills and desire to run down a trail, which is a natural quality in dogs. As this requires significant endurance and strength, only athletic dogs are seen more in Skijoring, and small dogs are often absent.

The longest Skijoring race is KALEVALA which takes place in Kalevala, Karelia, Russia. It covers a distance of 440 km. The second longest is the Stream Sprinter 120, which happens in Whitehorse, Yukon, with a distance of 190 km. The highest-level skijoring dashing groups on the planet are German Shorthaired Pointers, Alaskan Huskies, Pointer/Greyhound blends, or crosses between these varieties.
