Imperial History

On the 21st of September, 454 CE, the Roman Emperor Valentinian III attempted to murder Flavius Aetius while he delivered an account in Ravenna. With an audience of nobles and senators, the Emperor interrupted Aetius and declaimed him, drawing his sword so that he could strike him down. Instead, Aetius killed the Emperor. Perhaps Valentinian had feared Aetius’ growing power and influence, perhaps he felt resentment over Aetius’ allegiances in the civil wars of decades prior. Regardless of the reason, a fearful emperor had tried to strike down the man called the last true Roman, and failed.

To empire-wide acclaim, Aetius was declared emperor, and immediately set about fixing the almost unfixable situation the Western Roman Empire found itself in. To the Germanic tribes flooding across her borders, Aetius offered alliance and citizenship. To the slave rebellions wracking the empire’s provinces, he offered freedom. To the plebes, so beleaguered by hunger and poverty, he offered land and wealth redistribution. To the military, he offered leadership and salvation. Across all sectors of empire, he tore down the foundations and built them anew.

By his death in 534, Rome was reborn, stronger, wealthier, smarter than before. The Imperial Highways stretched across every corner of the empire, the legions were rebuilt and cities expanded. Under the firm, even handed leadership of the Aetian Dynasty, the empire flourished.

Starting under Emperor Gaulterius, Rome sought a closer relationship with the nations of Africa. First with the Umayyad Caliphate and their successors, and later the Empire of Mali, Rome and Africa would develop rapidly. In 1634, Roman and Malian engineers would begin construction on the Continental Causeway, building a road and rail bridge from the lower tip of Italia through Sicily and into Roman Carthage on the coast of North Africa. Together, the two continents would embark on several other massive projects, including Terra’s first megacity of Damascus. Dagbon shipbuilders built the steamships that carried the first imperial explorers across the Atlantic, and Benin engineers helped design the underground Imperial Railway that spanned all across Europe.

In 1791, an alliance of African states signed the Sahel Accords, creating the Pan African Coalition. The same day, the Imperium Europum, as Rome had come to be known, declared them a permanent ally, equal, and partner.

This golden age would last until September 25th, 1933, when Roman ambassador to Qing Iolanus Vorenus deliberately sabotaged a series of diplomatic communiques, and sparked a war between Rome and the Qing. As the series of border skirmishes between Roman legions and Qing troops escalated into a full blown war, the rest of the Pan-Asia Defense Initiative was drawn into the conflict, which soon spilled over into the PAC and Western Economic Union of the new world. The war would last until 1943, when Qing sued for peace, economically devastated by the war. The empire would not escape unscathed, as the regional capital of Triers was destroyed in a WEU nuclear strike.

After the war, the WEU and PADI would be folded into the empire, which declared itself the Imperium Terra. In 1991, Outpost Sapiens was established on Luna, marking the creation of humanity’s first off-world settlement. The outpost would serve as a fuel depot for further exploration of the solar system under the joint Imperial-PAC Global Aerospace Administration, although imperial zeitgeist for space development would die off following the ISV Mare Tyrrhenian Disaster in 2101 when a cargo launcher exploded over Celtiberia, spreading fallout across the entire province. It would take a miracle for the Imperium to restart its expansion to the stars.

This miracle would come in the form of Emperor Valerius Illurius Laerio and his adopted son, Herius Victus. Emperor Valerius was elected by the Senate in 2303, breaking the uninterrupted reign of the Aetian Dynasty for the first time in imperial history. Valerius was not a popular emperor, and ruled mostly from afar for the early years of his reign. It wasn’t until August 1st, 2314, that his image would be rehabilitated when an orphan was mysteriously left in his antechamber. Naming the child Herius, Valerius adopted him as his son and heir, and groomed him from that day forward to be his successor.

Herius would prove to have the charm and warmth his father lacked, and proved immensely popular at state functions, so when his coronation day arrived in 2332, massive crowds gathered to cheer. This was when three massive ships appeared in orbit over Terra, utterly immense in dimension and scale. The largest of them, measuring fully 43.7 kilometers in length, would soon be nicknamed the Invictus, in honor of the prince. Valerius, his interest clearly piqued by the ships, gathered a team of scientific, military, engineering, and cultural advisors, and boarded the Invictus along with his son.

For a year, cadres of experts shuttled back and forth from Terra to the ship, frequently accompanied by the crown prince. And then, suddenly and without warning, Victus stole the ship. He and a selected team of loyalists absconded with the Invictus, disappearing into the reaches of space.

The Imperium surged after him. Reverse engineered technology from the two other ships, christened the Harbingers, was used to develop humanity’s first interstellar vessels, and from there, the Imperium Humanum, as it was now known, spread through the stars. After the disaster of the 1st Aberinian War, it would meet the vast galactic community.

It is now 2762. The Imperium is the pinnacle of stellar civilization. Numbering over 4000 settled systems and nearly 13 trillion citizens, it is the largest spacefaring nation in galactic history. Gargantuan macro-engineering projects are a daily endeavor, and entire stars are rendered down to their raw materials to feed the needs of the growing populace. Massive Imperial warships ply its borders, and its proud Navy remains undefeated through the many attempts to conquer the nascent power. But on the eastern fringe of the Imperial Frontier, whole worlds are going dark, early warning beacons are being silenced, and disquiet grows. Rumors are spreading of something terrible in the deeps of space, spreading like a cancer. And amidst all this, the Dark Prince Herius Victus has been seen for the first time since the apocalyptic Unification Wars of the 2670s. No one knows what is coming, except maybe the once favored first son of the Empire.

It’s good to take time with this subtopic because these are the Foundations of Wedlock.

We were talking about the possibility of developing affection in an “ungodly” union. How could this happen and how can you tell the difference?

Firstly, I must be sincere with you: no one can discover the Truth he despises or rejects in his heart.

Inordinate means something limitless and uncontrolled.

God can’t be that PERFECT and yet create men to live by “Random Selection” (Darwin’s Evolution Theory).

To assume that you can just walk out to the “field of women” and pick anything that appeals to you is error!

Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, SO THAT YOU MAY TEST AND APPROVE WHAT IS THE WILL OF GOD – WHAT IS GOOD AND WELL-PLEASING AND PERFECT. NET

There is a PERFECT WILL of God for all Marriages; you must embrace that.

Now there are 2 basic ways a Man can develop Inordinate Affection for any woman he “meets”:

Here are some abbreviated notes on my study of the Firmament.

The second thing God created was the Firmament and He Divided the waters which were under the Firmament from the waters which were above the Firmament (Gen 1:7 KJV) Peter confirms this when he said “Heaven” and earth were formed long ago, out of water and by water (2Pe 3:5 CEB). And then God called the Firmament Heaven (Gen 1:8 KJV). Al words with “quotation marks” is the Firmament.

The Firmament must be located somewhere specific, because By His understanding, He set the “Heavens” in place (Pro 3:19 ISV) God also says That I may plant the “Heavens” and lay earth's foundations (Isa 51:16 KJV) Being fixed onto the earth it would make much more sense when The pillars of “Heaven" tremble (Job 36:11 CPDV)

The Firmament declares the work of His hands (Psa 19:1 DRC) God created it and He is referred to as The Magnificent One of the Firmament (Deu 33:26 LXX) Strong's H7549 says that the firmament is solid. What did the psalmist refer to when he said: And you, waters, that are above the “heavens" (Psa 148:4 KJV) The flood story records The floodgates of “heaven" were opened (Gen 7:11 ISV) and The windows of “heaven" were closed (Gen 8:2 ESV). ‘Oh, it is just a figure of speech’ they say. God said: I will rain down bread from “heaven" for you (Exo 16:4 BSB) The psalmist confirms He opened the doors of “heaven" and rained manna upon them (Psa 78: 23 DRC) Deborah's victory song also says that The “heavens" rained, the clouds also, dropped water (Jdg 5:4 Geneva)

Other words describing the firmament are Let the birds fly across the face of the vaulted dome in heaven (Gen 1:20 LEB) The Lord is also seen roaming the heavens above. He goes about on the vaulted heavens (Job 22-14 NIV) and To Him who rides across the highest heaven, the ancient heavens (Psa 68:33 NIV)

It should be apparent, that the Firmament can be opened at times. Let's look at some. Peter had a vision: He saw “heavens" open and a vessel coming down to him (Act 10:11 COVERDALE) and similar to Jacob's dream You shall see “heaven" open and the angels of God descending and ascending. (Joh 1:31 NET) Then there are special occasions, like the Baptism of Jesus. Lo! The “heavens" were opened unto Him (Mat 3 :16 KJV) A voice came out of “heavens" saying: “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I am well pleased" (Mat 3:17 EMTV) Isaiah clearly knew that it was possible, when he said Oh, that You would rend the “heavens" and come down (Isa 64:1 NIV) also in the following He parted the “heavens" and came down (Psa 18:9 NIV) And so we see here He passes through the circle of heaven (Job 22:14 LXX)

Fire is also said to come out of the “Heavens". Let's look at some. Brimstone and fire from the Lord, out of “heaven" (Gen 19:24 TYNDALE) and the leader with his 50 men. Fire came down from “heaven" and burned them up (2Ki 1:10 GW) In the end times, wonders will be shown In heaven, to deceive us. He even makes fire come down from heaven, on the earth, before men (Rev 13:13 EMTV) and finally On that Day, fire will destroy the “heavens" (2 Pe 3:12 NIRV) The firmament above the earth, as we know it, will be destroyed because We are looking forward to new “heavens" and a new earth. (2Pe 3:13 ISV)

Where is the firmament? Does it have limits? One thing is for sure, it is above us. All things that are done under “heavens" (Ecc 1:13 GREAT) The firmament has bounds. If ye should be scattered under the utmost bound of “heaven" (Neh 1:9 LXX) All things are under the firmament. For He beholds the ends of the world and looketh on all things under “heaven" (Job 28:24 DRC) It has two distinct ends. From one end of “heaven" to the other end of “heaven" (Deu 4:22 DARBY) and also So that all the hye hills, which are under all parts of “heaven" (Gen 7:19 MATTHEW)

There are verses that show the fact that our firmament has an expiration date. God's heaven, on the other hand, where His throne is, will last forever. A dead man shall certainly not rise again, till the “heavens" be dissolved (Job 14:12 LXX) and I will establish his throne, as long as “heaven” endures (Psa 89:29 ISV) and again As long has “heaven" is suspended above the earth (Deu 11:21 CPDV)

When the end is near, Amos says Even if they climb up to “heaven", I will bring them down (Amo 9:2 GNT) this is reminiscent of the Tower of Babel Let us build ourselves a city and a tower, whose top is in the “heavens" (Gen 11:4 NET)

Jesus indeed was Made higher than the “heavens" (Heb 7:26 WEB) For the Lord himself will descend from “heaven” (1Th 4:16 HNV) He is coming in the clouds, and every eye will see Him (Rev 1:7 WMTH) And thenThe “heaven" departed as a scroll, when it is rolled together (Rev 6:4 KJV) The end of our firmament.

I always wondered what is meant by these verses, but now, knowing there is a firmament that is also called heaven, it starts to make more sense. Lo! Heaven is of thy Lord God, and “heaven" of heaven, the earth and all things therein (Deu 10:14 WYCLIFFE MODERN) speaking of being contained in the firmament The heavens and the “heaven" of heavens can not contain you (1Ki 8:27 KJV)

Is there more than one “heaven"? Such an one, being caught away unto the third heaven (2 Co 12:2 YLT) In the end however, we will never be able to fully comprehend God's creation. Knewest thou the laws of the heavens? (Job 38:33 SLT) and perhaps know why the firmament is there in the first place. Who schal telle out the resoun of “heavens" (Job 38:37 WYCLIFFE)

I found these three interesting uses of the word Firmament, and it is used in no other translation like this. The Lord is a Firmament to those who fear Him (Psa 25:14 CPDV) and He went before me, and the Lord became my Firmament (2Sa 22:19 CPDV) Be a God of protection and a place of strength for me, so that you can accomplish my salvation. For You are my Firmament and Refuge. (Psa 71:3 CPDV)

We also see other visions of God, His throne and the firmament, which resembles a firmament over earth. Moses saw Under His feet, a work of sapphire slabs, like the Firmament of heaven in it's purity (Exo 24:10 LXX) Ezekiel saw the same kind of vision: “Heavens" were opened, and I saw visions of God (Eze 1:1 KJV) with living creatures A Firmament, like an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads above (Eze 1:22 HNV) Under the Firmament, their wings were straight (Eze 1:23 AFV+) A voice came from above the dome (Eze 1:25 GW) Above the dome was something that resembled a huge throne (Eze 1:26 UDB) does this not remind you of Jesus' baptism?

And so finally, where exactly is God in all of this. Near or far. And I am not talking spiritually, I am talking actually. Let the Bible explain: The Lord, His throne is in heaven (Psa 11:14 TENAKH) God lives high up in the heavens. From there He looks down on the highest stars (Job 22:12 UDB) again The Lord looks down from the heavens upon humanity (Psa 14:2 ISV)

Many times God is depicted as reaching down. He reached down from on high and took hold of me. He drew me out of deep waters. (Psa 18:16 NIV) Isaiah gives us a glimpse of how far God actually is. God is enthroned above the earth, and those who live on it are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the “sky" like a canopy and spreads it out like a tent to live in. (Isa 40:22 GW) There is a reason He made the firmament. God is the One who formed and made the earth. God is the One who established it. He did not create it for chaos, but formed it to be inhabited (Isa 45:18 ISV) Establishing something means to make it firm or make it strong.

But ultimately, I will let God's own words set the record straight.

The heavens are My throne and the earth is My footstool (Isa 66:1 EBR) Speaking about the Israelites, God said: Like one who lifts a child to the cheek, I bent down to feed them (Hos 11:4 NIV) Through Jeremiah, God made it abundantly clear: ‘Do you not realize that I am a God close by’, says the Lord, ‘and not a God far away?’ (Jer 23:23 CPDV)

The Workers in the Vineyard

1 “The kingdom from heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2 After agreeing to pay the workers one denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 When he went out about nine o’clock, he saw others standing in the marketplace without work. 4 He told them, ‘You go into the vineyard, too, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5 So off they went. He went out again about noon and about three o’clocke and did the same thing. 6 About five o’clock he went out and found some others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why are you standing here all day long without work?’ 7 They told him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He told them, ‘You go into the vineyard as well.’

8 “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard told his manager, ‘Call the workers and give them their wages, beginning with the last and ending with the first.’ 9 Those who were hired at five o’clock came, and each received a denarius.

10 “When the first came, they thought they would receive more, but each received a denarius as well. 11 When they received it, they began to complain to the landowner, 12 ‘These last fellows worked only one hour, but you paid them the same as us, and we’ve been working all day, enduring the scorching heat!’

13 “But he told one of them, ‘Friend, I’m not treating you unfairly. You did agree with me for a denarius, didn’t you? 14 Take what is yours and go. I want to give this last man as much as I gave you. 15 I am allowed to do what I want with my own money, am I not? Or are you envious because I’m generous?’

Hebrew: אהב אהב

Pronounced : aw-hab

English: meaning to love, human love for another, includes family, and human appetite for objects such as food, drink, sleep, wisdom, human love for or to God, the act of being a friend.

God's love for us is one truth we should never ever doubt, forget, reject or take for granted no matter where we are in our lives and the circumstances we may be facing. His love for us is unwaveringly strong and faithful. His love can't be compared to any other love. Not even our love for him. He loves us with eternal, faithful unconditional love which pursues us even when we rebel against him.

He loved us even when we were his enemies and drew us to him with loving kindness.

Paul declares in the book of Romans 8:37 ( ISV). that " In all these things we are triumphantly victorious due to the one who loved us."

The KJV rendered it

"We are more than conquerors"

Because of his love for us, we are victorious.

His everlasting love guarantees for us victory in the end. His love is the foundation for our very existence, without which we would fail.

His love grants us access to His Grace and Mercy. He forgives us when we deserve punishment, and gives us the favour we do not deserve.

He builds us up from weak sinners who fall short of his glory into saints full His glory.

He grooms us into the full stature of his dear son - full of his glory and splendour - allowing us to walk in the beauty of His Holiness.

Loved Amen.

UNDERSTANDING PROPHETIC MANDATES 64: THE PROPHET 2

Amo 3:7 CERTAINLY, THE ALMIGHTY LORD DOESN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS HE FIRST REVEALS HIS SECRET TO HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS. GW

So, we see that an Apostle (John) can operate in the profound spirit of Prophecy.

Was that because he needed the Prophetic unction just for that time or was it that the Prophetic Grace is too crucial to be overlooked or underrated?

What exactly is the place of the Prophet in the body?

1Co 14:37 IF ANYONE CONSIDERS HIMSELF TO BE A PROPHET OR A SPIRITUAL PERSON, let him DISCERN that what I’m writing to you CARRIES THE LORD’S AUTHORITY. TPT

That verse shows that it takes [basically] a Prophet to acknowledge, discern or confirm True Teachings from the Bible.

That’s because, as we’ve seen before, all scripture is Prophetic in nature.

An Apostle (Paul) was talking but asking any spiritual Prophet to confirm.

So, that implies that even if the Prophetic office seems to be 2nd placed, it still forms the Bedrock of the WORD.

Eph 2:20 because YOU HAVE BEEN BUILT on THE FOUNDATION OF THE APOSTLES AND PROPHETS, with Christ Jesus himself as the CORNERSTONE. NET

There were priests and Scribes in the old testament, but whenever reference is made to those who laboured before the New testament, why did it seem like only Prophets were reckoned with?

Jer 7:25 From the day your ancestors left the land of Egypt to this present time, I'VE SENT ALL MY SERVANTS, THE PROPHETS, to you, AGAIN AND AGAIN. ISV

Did you notice the phrase: “All my servants”?

As though the Prophets are all the servants God had. Well, it is just “rubbing in” the importance and supremacy of the Prophet in Ministry.

Also, God said: “I have sent” in the same context of sending the Apostles today.

Hence, the Prophets back then, did the work of Apostles, being the ones God always sent to warn or instruct people.

2Ki 17:13 THE LORD USED EVERY PROPHET AND EVERY SEER TO WARN ISRAEL and Judah. He said, "Turn away from the evil things you do. Obey my commands and laws. Follow all the law that I gave to your ancestors. I USED MY SERVANTS THE PROPHETS TO GIVE THIS LAW TO YOU." ERV

Jesus shed more light on the importance of the role of a Prophet when He made this statement.

Luk 16:16 "MOSES' TEACHINGS AND THE PROPHETS WERE IN FORCE UNTIL THE TIME OF JOHN. SINCE THAT TIME, people have been telling THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE KINGDOM OF GOD, and everyone is trying to force their way into it. GW

Even so, as important as the Prophet is to the Church, this is the principal point where the Prophet had to give way to the Apostle.

Prophets emphasized Righteousness, while Apostles with the Gospel emphasize both Righteousness of Christ and the Destination where it is mostly to be practiced.

2Pe 3:13 But, according to his promise, WE ARE WAITING FOR NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH, IN WHICH RIGHTEOUSNESS TRULY RESIDES. NET

Let’s read Lk 16:16 again in the Message Version. Let’s review something together here.

Lk 16:16 God’s Law and the Prophets CLIMAXED in John; Now it’s all KINGDOM OF GOD - the Glad News and compelling invitation to every man and woman. MSG

Okay. So the prophetic Ministry Climaxed at the declaration of the Baptist’s ministry.

But the Baptist himself is a Prophet, right?

You remember this scripture from last lesson, right?

Luk 1:76-77 "YOU, MY CHILD, WILL BE CALLED A PROPHET OF THE MOST HIGH GOD. You will go ahead of the Lord to prepare his road for him, TO TELL HIS PEOPLE THAT THEY WILL BE SAVED BY HAVING THEIR SINS FORGIVEN. GNB

Yes! John the Baptist was a Prophet, but his Ministry yet [mainly] emphasized RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Mat 21:32 For JOHN CAME UNTO YOU IN THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him. KJV

John did preach the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (Mat 3:2) but neither John nor the Prophets before him emphasized this Gospel because, like to Daniel, it was too mysterious for them.

But John did introduce JESUS (Mark 1:7-8), who Himself finally made all emphasis for the Kingdom Gospel.

Mar 4:30 Then Jesus said, "WHAT CAN I USE TO SHOW YOU WHAT GOD'S KINGDOM IS LIKE? What story can I use to explain it? ERV

That’s why the Prophet has to relinquish 1st place to the Apostle.

But then, the Prophet will remain functional till the end of ages.
