König, walking up to Bee’s house with like three jugs of Moonshine: What the fuck is this and why did I buy it off that nun?
König sets a jug of water in front of you. As if you're going to know what to do with it. You look up at him, he looks down at you. You look at the jug.
"What is it?" You ask, not sure he's going to come out and tell you if you don't.
"Moonshine," König replies. You frown, and pop the lever at the top. You sniff it and nearly gag, your eyes watering a little. König's eyes widen a little, like he hadn't been expecting that reaction and picks up the jug to inspect himself. You grab a shot glass from the cabinet and a coke from the fridge just in time to see König sniff the bottle and jerk it away from himself almost immediately.
You laugh and set the shot glass on the table, trading König the coke for the moonshine. He twists the cap off with ease as you pour yourself a shot.
"Where'd you get this? I didn't think there was a liquor store nearby." You settle the jug on your kitchen table, and eye the shot.
"A nun." You glance at König, sure you heard him wrong.
"A nun." You clarify. He nods.
"Ja, a nun," He gestures around his head, imitating a nun's habit. You... have honestly heard worse. Alright nuns with booze, you can get on board with that. You think you've heard of nuns growing weed, this seems tamer.
You grip the shot glass between two fingers and tap it on the table before tossing it back. God Damn it burns like nothing you've ever drank before. Save maybe the everclear you had in college. It's just a step better than drinking straight paint thinner. You cover your mouth to cough, setting down the shot glass and reaching to take your coke from König. He seems concerned, brows drawn together as you swallow down nearly the whole soda.
You finally set your chaser back on the table, and pour König a shot in the same glass. Whatever the alcohol content of this crystal devil is you don't know, but you can feel it making your head warm already. You push the shot towards König, his fingers positively dwarf the glass. You look away as he pulls his bandana down, you figure that's polite.
"How much did the nun charge you?" You ask, hearing the glass clink against the table, König's quiet swallow.
"Probably too much," He says without a hint of tremor in his voice, you ignore how that makes the heat in your head move south, "She was a very pushy nun."

one of the most frustrating things about current dc & what's slowly starting to make me lose interest altogether is this like… bizarre nuclear family-ization of everything & everyone
a lot of the appeal of superhero "families" came from them not fitting into the norm of what a family is "supposed" to look like. the dynamics between every single person were very unique and very few if any of their relationships really fit into any traditional family roles (because that's kinda the entire point of found families/families of choice)
but now, it's like them not resembling a conventional family unit is seen as a bad thing that needs to be "fixed," and everybody's histories & relationships are being deliberately watered down and pruned of any and all complexity so they can be easily slotted into conventional family roles
idk i just think "he's like a brother to me because of how much he's come to mean to me after everything we've been through" is a whole lot more compelling & meaningful than "we've spoken all of like 2 words to each other for as long as we've known each other, and there has been 0 development of our actual relationship, but the group we're both a part of adheres to a traditional family structure, so he is, by definition, my brother."

I'm completely obsessed with and emo over the way Wilhelm carries himself now that he knows Simon loves him, too.
(just a sidenote, but the duality of love and devotion towards Simon on one side and revolt and confident deviance towards everyone watching him, including us on the other.... these frames make me unwell...)
Like, that's absolutely the stance and face (and smile) of someone who's done with putting his own and his boyfriend's (!!!) needs behind those of the people who never cared about what he actually wanted.
Knowing him and Simon are on the same page now, finally, really is all he needs to face off against the consequences of living authentically and openly. He knows that together, they'll be fine.
I'd like to think his resistance is starting here already, facing off Jan-Olof with this stare and not pulling away as fast as Simon - who after all just offered to be Wilhelm's secret - is.
It's so beautiful to see how much this has done for him in the S3 snippet. I feel like it's the first time he's moving like he's not a stranger on his own home anymore, like he's now commanding the place, like he's finally calling the shots. Sure, there are and there will be adversities (“I just wish it wasn't because of this”), but Wilhelm won't let them get in the way of him and Simon loving and supporting each other.
“They won't start without us” He knows it's true and really isn't giving a fuck anymore who might get mad at them, he knows that they won't be able to play this down, make him deny everything again, they can't take back his confession in front of every single phone in all of Hillerska, and he won't let them try to, either. He's ready to fight, that revolution they started back in season 1 is now really picking up, and they're in it together.
And god, it looks like it's healing him so much, he's so confident now, Simon by his side really gave him the strength he needed.
Like, the journey from the way he's desperately holding on to him at the confession, seemingly drinking it all in, those words he probably hasn't even dared dreaming of hearing from Simon and do taken aback by his emotions to the way he exudes confidence, strength, and conviction even in the face of adversity... the development is so beautiful.
The combination of love and confidence is one hell of a drug, and Wilhelm gets both from and through Simon... I'm convinced they are going to be one hell of a power couple this next season.

i swear to god i've literally made long posts of romance novel recommendations before, featuring book covers, which meant that:
the book was going to be about people falling in love. because that's the plot of romance novels. there might be other set dressings, like a murder or the reform act of 1867, but those are secondary to the main plot (some people don't want to kiss, but then they do, but they can't until they can) (this is an oversimplification but you get what i'm saying here)
the people who fall in love are most likely going to be on the cover, especially if they're marginalized because authors like to be clear about that kind of thing
and i still. STILL. on a post that was at least half diverse romance where various queer models of color were about to kiss on the covers. on a post where i mentioned the set dressing or any identities not immediately obvious from the covers, which were all pretty obvious. on a post that i mentioned was exclusively romance novels and were not going to be of interest to anyone who doesn't like kissin' books. got angry comments of:
but what is it about??????
i don't care about white people, this list is not for me
i don't care about straight people, this list is not for me
i don't have any money, where can i pirate these
some people have one standard accusatory response about every book they weren't planning to buy anyway and there is nothing, literally nothing, you can do to stop them from regurgitating it right up to and including telling them directly "this book is everything you say you want and also it's free right now"
... but at least the "is it gay" crowd tends to enthusiastically support your shit as soon as they find out the answer is "yes"
