The west needs to get off it's high horse when it comes to democracy, the west is not democratic it's just dictatorship with another face. A dictatorship that is less obvious.
Think about it, there are two mainstream parties usually. Both of them practically are the same and work together. And the minority parties aren't unique either. A lot of them just exist to continue the delusion of there being democracy.
You can see it in book shops when you go into the politics section. You will have huge sections where you can read Barack Obama, Kennedy, Nixon, Gouh Whitlam etc, they are all mainstream politicians and in the corner you might find a bit of Marx and Engels. It's silent censorship that you only notice if you oppose the government.

honestly speaking american liberals are just as hateful as american conservatives but they just do it against people who 'deserve' it and they're surrounded by people who pat them on the back for hating the 'bad' people
like if your response to some natural disaster or whatever in a red state is that 'they deserve it because they're republicans', then you are 100% a piece of shit.
and don't come in the replies or reblogs with shit like 'oh so you're saying people can't hate right-wing politicians trying to strip lgbt+ people of their rights???' or something similar. i'm a far-left autistic non-binary ace lesbian, i am very much not talking about politicians here
i'm talking about acting as if the regular people who live in the area somehow deserve to suffer from natural disasters just because they live in a red state or whatever. that is an absolute garbage opinion to hold and that's why i laugh whenever liberals claim to 'care about others'. you don't actually give a shit about other people, you only care about your own side
see also: the number of times i've seen liberals argue against puerto rican statehood because 'what if they vote republican'. y'all don't actually give a shit that 3.2 MILLION american citizens (based on 2022 estimates, the 31st most populated state or territory) living on puerto rico are disenfranchised and have no representation or say in presidential elections (to say nothing about the about 311,000 US citizens living in guam, the northern mariana islands, and the US virgin islands), you only care about making sure your side wins and nothing more

A visitor
Today I was visited by a young woman that once was my friend. We were once close. Maybe not as close as most female friendships, but it's the closest I've ever gotten. She did not say much today. Only nodded and smiled.
I remember sitting next to her. Hearing her laughter. She always laughed a lot. She was so happy. I remember drinking with her. Playing sports with her. I was never good at it, two left feet and so incredibly slow, but she never complained. She liked my company. And she liked that I spent some time outside. She was into that health stuff. I was into that reading and writing and nicotine stuff. She was supportive of that, not the nicotine, but she liked my writing. She was so nice.
I did not want to walk to the kitchen. It is sort of a trigger for me now. Since I saw the news, could not sleep and kept up on every little detail. I was in the library when they showed the knife in an update. I broke down. The knives are in plain sight in the kitchen. I should have put them away in the block, but I have forgotten. I am so stupid. I should have done more. So I did not eat today.
We haven't spoken to each other in years. Her joy scared me away. She and her boyfriend were so happy together. Last time we spoke she told me so. He was the best, the greatest, the most lovable boyfriend ever. He was getting a real good education, and in just a few years they would be able to buy a home. He was so kind and gave her gifts all the time. He even dropped his sports to join a unisex "sport group" (I am not so sporty, so I dont know what a group of people trying out different sports and activities is called. I think flock or pack seems fitting). Everything was working out for her. I was jealous. I wanted that too. I wanted to want a boyfriend, just like everyone else. I wanted that perfect life my friend had been promised. I wanted to be cared for. Be someones someone. Seeing her pale face now, makes me feel guilty. I should not have left her back then. In some ways I feel things could have been different, even as I know there was nothing I could have done.
It was nice seeing her again. I never forgot her, and never will. I told her that. She just nodded. I told her that they picked a pretty picture of her on TV, but it was not like how I remembered her. She used to live in hoodies and sweatpants, no make up, and hair often tied up. But it was a pretty picture.
She left when I was not looking. I need to get an extra blanket. I am very cold now, which is kinda ironic or am I wrong again.

You know what? Too many of you tumblr folks think that respecting people’s religions just means dissing Christianity and acknowledging that Judaism and Islam exist while dismissing any pagan beliefs as “dumb white women” or whatever.
Unless someone is using their religion to actively harm you like Western Christians do, you should fucking respect them. So many of y’all are culturally Christian atheists who diss every supernatural belief and call anyone who believes them deluded and it’s not cool. You can’t pick and choose who to support if they’re not actively harming you.
I’m not saying you have to believe in healing Crystals, but at least don’t make fun of people who do.
Anyway, shout-out to colonized peoples who practice their ancestral religion, voodoo and houdou practitioners, pagans, Christians who aren’t complete assholes, Jews, Buddhists, animists, gnostics, Hindus, Zoroastrians, etc. I love you all and I support and see you
