I'm seeing White liberals/leftists getting angry at Oprah over the situation at Maui and I just want to say this real quick:

Again, I want to preface this by saying that I'm not defending Oprah Winfrey for owning Hawaiian land, because she shouldn't. But I also want to point out that the White pple getting angry at Oprah specifically is problematic becos:

1) it individualizes the problem and does not allow for further interrogation of US colonization of Hawaii and how the US goverment created the very conditions that allowed wealthy Americans to own Hawaiian land in the first place.

2) of the fact that Black women, will face harsher scrutiny than their White counterparts for every action they do, and Oprah is a hypervisible wealthy Black woman. I don't see the same vitriol targeted towards White wealthy celebrities who own property in Hawaii like Jeff Bezos or Owen Wilson or Woody Harrelson or Willie Nelson or Jim Carrey, and so many more if you do a quick google of "celebrities who own Hawaii property".

That is why I get wary when I see White and non-Black pple criticize Black public figures, simply because a lot of them, even if they are left-leaning, don't examine their antiblack bias and hence, don't question why they react so excessively vitriolic towards Black women. And sometimes, the criticism devolves into microaggressions, like it did with Lizzo and Carlee Russell.

Israeli settlers who do believe in Palestinians rights and in giving all the land back do exist. They are a minority but they do exist. A lot of them choose to leave so they are not actively participating to colonization anymore and raise awareness from wherever they are.

But white people would rather praise the “leftist” who just wanna go back to the status quo. Back to when the people all over the world were not seeing the truth and calling for justice. Back to when the genocide and ethnic cleansing wasn’t a risk for the way they are viewed by people who still thought it was complicated.

I went to a pro-Palestine protest recently. It was a small crowd. Maybe 100 people. It was almost entirely Middle Eastern people and Jews (not mutually exclusive groups). I saw almost no one in the crowd who wasn't clearly Middle Eastern, or Jewish, or both. It feels like we're the only ones who care.

The 2020 uprising protests were full of white liberals, absolutely packed. White liberals getting arrested, throwing themselves in front of young black men to stop the violence.

It feels like no one cares about Palestine except Palestinians and Jews. And, not to speak for all other Jews, but it's being done in our name. Israel is claiming to do a genocide on behalf of Jews. We're all obligated to say go fuck yourself I didn't ask you to do that.

I think the white liberals stay home because they don't know how to feel about it. Because of the propaganda. They're told if they support Palestine, they're antisemitic, if they don't, they're islamophobic. White liberals live in fear of being cancelled, of failing to virtue signal correctly. So when things are even a little ambiguous, they simply remain completely silent. Perfectly still. The woke police's vision is based on movement like an animatronic T-Rex. They're afraid to make the wrong choice, even when the correct choice is so, so obvious. The bad guys are the ones doing a genocide. Same as always. So they avoid making any choice at all, taking any stance.

How do we make the message more clear?

The bad guys are the ones committing genocide.

I’ve talked vaguely about white liberals treatment of BW both in real life and in fandom spaces but I feel I should expand on that.

A while back a BW wrote an article about how BM are the white people of the black community. White people were offended and baffled and BM protested. The thing is it's very much true. BM, along with BW are oppressed under a system stacked against us (along with many other demographics), but because BW are women we are also oppressed by BM.

White liberals have the privilege to not have grown up in the hood like I did. So they can claim a world without cops wouldn't turn into open season on BW at the hands of BM. They can say gangs, drive-bys, and drug dealers aren't dangerous and BM shouldn't be prevented from doing it. But when I was little I couldn't use the playgrounds because drug dealers used them as a place to deal and recruit little boys. I couldn't go to the local skating rink because gangs would go there to fight and shoot it up. I had to play in the street with my friends because the MEN in the community were ruining spaces meant for children. Erasing safety in general actually. Not the white president, the men in the community. I can say systematic racism and the BM who did a random drive-by on my house and raped little girls were both oppressing me. Both are true.

But it's not true to the white liberals who have a complete blind spot when it comes to BW because they don't acknowledge we are women. They see us as strong unwavering aggressive machines. We make good allies but they don't need to help us because we are invincible duh. It's the "bw saved the day" shit after every election followed by them going right back to ignoring us the next day.

It's them ignoring all the crazy stats about violence against BW to whitesplain to us how abolishing the police is a great idea. The men harming us will simply stop if they know we don't even have someone we may call for help. Let's abolish the police because they harm BM and BM never do anything they should be arrested for including my rapist. He was simply a victim of white supremacy and I should have hugged him after like the strong mammy I was born to be. No need to talk about black femicide.

Basically, white liberals care about BM (because it's trendy not because they give a shit see ANTIFA), BW care about BM, BM care about BM, and no one gives a shit about BW. That's the reality

But white libs in fandoms are racist in a different way. They like to adopt the struggles of demographics that are oppressed in real life and apply it to white characters. It's why characters like Silco and Jinx are so appealing to them.

(both trying to kill Zaunites here BTW)

Make no mistake If Silco were black fans would be holding them accountable same with Jinx. But they are white and they are (were) oppressed. That's literally a white liberal dream. They get to ignore the fact that Silco and Jinx are rich and they got rich by oppressing poor people and forcing children into child labor.

(that Zaunite teen boy died not that anyone cares. )

They get to weaponize classism to excuse the violence and murder they commit against other poor people. Who cares how many orphans he creates or how many poor children he tries to murder.

Mind you not only was Silco rich off the backs of poor people and the labor of kids, he used the enforcers to help him not only oppress his own people but also frame Ekko (ironically a BM) and the Firelights for crimes he and Jinx were committing.

Jinx who killed multiple Zaunites on purpose and tried to kill Ekko later on. Jinx who is rich and has no motive for the violence she commits. Jinx who is working for the man she KNOWS killed her father figure and tried to kill her siblings. Jinx who never once takes responsibility for any of the choices she makes. But she's white. It's why the fandom supports her hetero ship with Ekko (who they headcanon as being her emotional crutch). They only care about heteronormativity when there is a black woman they want to erase. No other straight pairing gets called "disgusting", "forced", "shoehorned", "a betrayal", or "immoral". Mel is forceful and aggressive. She's a seductress who manipulates Jayce into her bed and into doing her evil deeds.

He should be kissing Vik's ass and worshipping the ground he walks on. Speaking of Viktor ...him using tech for his own gains, secretly merging his DNA with the core, getting addicted to shimmer, killing a fellow Zaunite and converting up her death + stealing her notes is something no one will discuss.

Because he's white , was once poor, and is "gay-coded". He's thus entitled to murdering a brown woman and entitled to Jayce's body. They weaponize LGBTQ+ rep in order to justify their racism much like the left does in real life.

Mel who shows no ill will towards Viktor is accused of being ableist and classist because she gave him a look when he was arguing with her. Mel who explains why she wants defensive weapons and has several scenes reiterating her motive is accused of wanting war and genocide.

Mel who has exchanged flirty looks with Jayce every episode before she kisses him is accused of raping him. Mel who isn't at all a part of the Vander/Silco/Jinx shenanigans in ep 1 is blamed for the death of Jinx's family because she "controls the council" (even though they often vote against her and Heimerdinger gets a pass despite being there when the cities were founded). Because she's black and rich. Thus they can weaponize poverty in order to villainize BW.

They shout over the people who are actually oppressed. Over the people who know what it's like to have drug dealers and gangs make your life hell while the government does the same on a less personal scale.

This is what white liberals do. It's not new. I won't even get into the weird ass envy/hatred/lust thing they have for bw. The dehumanizing and hypersexualizing shit they do is a whole other essay.

Over last year and these past few weeks and mouths of seeing so-called "Leftists," mainly White ones out here saying that they refuse to vote in the 2024 election and that they seem to be fine with America becoming a hellish authoritarian state under Trump. Is exactly why I have a hard time trusting some White people that are leftist or liberal sometimes.

Honestly, I feel some of these white leftists & liberals or those who so-called "claim" to care about minorities tend to be full of bullshit and that their allyship is all a show , especially when witnessing the always anti-voting rhetoric with them or how some of them seems to be really fine & Dandy with America losing it democracy completely under White-supremacists loving Fucking Trump. Just so they can live out their big Revolutionary dreams like they see from the damned Hunger Games,

Instead of actually putting in the real work of getting shit done within the government and not letting full-on Fascism take root and FUCK over the very groups of people whose rights & FUCKING Lives! That they claim to support will be Destroyed under Trump if he gets back into power.

If you're going to call yourself a "Leftist" and say wholeheartedly that you care about minority people, yet! Are okay with wannabe dictator Trump getting back into the White House again and refusing to do anything to stop him from getting back into power... all you're telling me is how you actually don't give a shit about the minorities you claimed to support and that your white leftist allyship is fake as hell.

Libs are like, "YOU CAN'T LET TRUMP WIN JUST BECAUSE BIDEN IS COMMITTING A GENOCIDE! THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR SINGLE-ISSUE VOTERS", when the fact is that people are already really fucking angry at him for funding two wars during a severe cost of living crisis. Biden's pet dog has already gotten Israel and the US embroiled in a steadily escalating conflict with Houthis and Hezbollah in Syria and Lebanon, and now Netanyahu is trying to ethnically cleanse two million Gazans by pushing them out of the country into Egypt, one of the countries the US gives billions of aid money to make nice with Israel and help them trap the Palestinians. Egypt is already mad about this (although Idk what they expected lol) and if Israel creates a border conflict with them, Iran might press their advantage and then the whole region descend into an all-out war in which the US is embroiled. At which point oil prices will jump, the US economy get even worse, more tax money funnelled into TWO wars, one of which is due to the genocide.

People might not care about Muslims living thousands of miles away, but they have some very strong opinions about putting food on the table. At this point there's a pretty significant shift in the Black community towards Trump because Biden has INCREASED funding for police, is supporting Cop City that someone DIED protesting, and hasn't made a dent in mass incarceration (the marijuana pardon was fucking hilarious in a depraved way). The right has also been weaponizing Black people's resentment against Latino "illegal aliens" and Biden's "concessions" towards them, when actually his immigration policies have barely been less draconian than Trump's all this time. The reason he's making those concessions is that he has to look more progressive than him, except he's also been slowly escalating ICE crackdowns, keeping kids in cages and building a border wall. So the Latin voters are entirely fed up with him too.

So far, he's lost the Muslim vote, the Latin vote, the Black vote, the youth vote (people of ages 18 to 35 are the most outraged at the genocide in Gaza), and they're hemorrhaging the working class votes. These are the extremely angry and betrayed people the liberals are currently working overtime screaming at about Trump "bringing the death of democracy", like democracy means anything to them compared to losing jobs, money, visas, family members, health (Biden's first and ongoing genocide is disabled people due to his COVID policies), social infrastructure and money.

Y'all said Blue Not Matter Who and elected a career racist and known incompetent who supported segregation, was an architect of mass incarceration, got Clarence Thomas elected to the Supreme Court and spewed rhetoric against Arabs so genocidal that motherfucking Menachem Begin was like "....bro." And you got exactly what you paid for. If Trump gets on the ticket next year he's going to win, and no amount of screaming at people online is going to change that. So I suggest you start organising now. The age of trying to create a revolution at the ballot box is over.

A lot of (liberal) Americans have realized post October 7th that their lives and status depend on American imperialism.

And they’re making the conscious choice to focus exclusively on “domestic” politics for their sake and actively ignore the death of people not in the empire.

What’s surprising and that they expect people of color (especially Muslims) to feel like them and to put their own comfort first. The amount of liberals who have been saying “Well enjoy being deported by Trump” and stuff like that under messages from Muslim Americans who don’t support Biden is crazy… like Biden if funding and supporting a genocide getting deported is absolutely nothing compared to that?!?

A guy legit said “if your choice is between voting for 100% Hitler (Trump) and 99% Hitler (Biden) your moral duty is to vote for 99% Hitler” and I was like No?!?! If the choices are 100% Hitler and 99% Hitler the moral duty is to fucking revolt against a system that put you in front of such a choice…

Also when they are out of argument they accuse you or secretly being pro Trump or of being a Russian or Chinese propagandist… and if they know you’re not American they dismiss you saying you have no business talking because the election will affect them only not you (because the US famously never attack Muslim majority countries and don’t contribute to the rise of anti Arab racism in the West)

They keep proving how true the saying “scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds” is.
