honestly, I think the reason I’m not huge on defending homura’s decision in rebellion is because I care a lot more for Madoka way more. I understand why people say what Homura did was good, she did let Madoka become human again…but is that really madoka would’ve wanted? And before you point the flower field scene, madoka then didn’t have her memories of previous timelines nor why she made the decision that she did.
it should be noted I don’t madoka hates or will hate Homura for what she did, I’m sure that if/when she gets her memories back she’ll love Homura as she always has. I think my problem is more that a lot of people seem to never consider Madoka’s feelings. It’s entirely possible this is exactly what madoka wanted but it’s also possible that this is the exact opposite of what madoka wanted and I wish people would just acknowledge Madoka’s feelings more, I stg lol.
also, I don’t think Homura’s some evil devil like she claims she is, like we all no she’s just putting up this front to make the other girls hate her when really nobody hates Homura more than Homura herself. And I think her becoming Akuma Homura is perfectly in character for her, she loves madoka, she wants madoka to be safe and happy and in her mind becoming a god wouldn’t allow that. And it’s so beautifully bittersweet because she herself knows this world will not last, madoka will once again become a god one day and I’ll again be at risk of being used by the incubators. And I absolutely love that. But while I think being Akuma Homura is perfectly in character and makes sense as a natural progression of this, it’s just more for me, it doesn’t feel like a happy ending many people portray this as because madoka gets to be human, it’s a bittersweet ending because for madoka may not have wanted this and for madoka and the rest of the girls (well except for Homura I think she knows deep down she isn’t happy at all with any of this lol), this happiness they get to enjoy is temporary, and for madoka that means she’s going to become a god again and be at the mercy of the incubators which is exactly not what Homura wants lol.
I guess I’m more trying to say my problems lie more with some pmmm fans than than the actual story and characters

Nidaime-sama (Tobirama Senju x Fem! Anbu Reader)
Chapter IV: Time off
It’s 2 a.m, you both worked hard. And you managed to convince him to stay here and keep working after your shift. Because you knew he will be late and you wanted to help him.
He sighs, sitting on the office couch and resting his head on the backseat.
“I appreciate your help, but it’s enough for today. Go home, Y/n.”
“But you will stay here and keep working, am I wrong?”
“…”
“You are a workaholic…”
“…” He frowns, stays quiet for a moment. Then speaks with his tired deep voice. “…maybe I am.”
You get surprised. “So you finally admit it?”
“Maybe I should take some time off… but then there will be more work accumulated.”
“You can rest today, and i will work in the office so that things don't pile up?”
“Okay.”
“Okay.” You said smiling softly.
~ 2 p.m:
You walk through the forest of the village, you know where to find your hokage. You know he must be noticed you already, with that sensitive nose and ears, as well as the sensor chakra.
“Hokage-sama!” You call him, he looks at you. Then Hiruzen, Koharu and Homura appears among the trees.
“Oh my! You guys have grown so much since I've seen you!” You go over them, pet their heads.
Homura speaks. “We are not twelve anymore, Y/n-san!!” He and the others looks embarrassed, you can’t help but laugh. Then you see Kagami near Tobirama.
“Oh, hello you too, Kagami!”
“It’s nice to see you again, Y/n-san.”
You look at them. “Can you guys leave us alone for a moment?”
They look each other.
“Is something wrong?”
Except Kagami, the little ones say together in panic. “I-it’s N-NOTHING!” They leave immediately, leaving you and Tobirama confused. Then he speaks.
“What did you want to talk? Something went wrong while i was gone?”
“Not at all. It’s just… some Sunagakure shinobi came to the village today morning. They said that Kazekage apologized for the confusion at the last meeting, they brought some herbal resources from Sunagakure as an apology gift. I sent what they brought in for analysis for anything suspicious. They're fine, I think the Kazekage old man really wanted to apologize. I came here to tell you that…”
“I know, i was aware of this but i forgot to tell you. Anyway, looks like you did well without me. Good job.” He bends over you and gives a kiss on your forehead, then he walked away. You are shocked and blushed. What did he just do? You follow him, he stood in the middle of an empty field.
“Were you training your team?”
“We were training together, actually. I wanted to see how much they've improved. My team will be chūnin rank soon. And Kagami does a great job with his sharingan, he may soon become a jōnin.”
“That’s good news… you must be very proud huh?”
“Yes i am.”
“Of course you are.” You chuckle. “You will keep training?”
“Yeah.”
“But this is your day off, I hardly convinced you! And you're training instead of resting?!”
“I haven't trained properly for a long time. And I can't spend the whole day sitting at home.” He starts doing pushups. With single hand.
“Hm… then let’s see if the old man has slipped?” You sit on his back, but he keeps doing pushups with single hand like you are a feather.
“Hm.. the old man is still as well as before?” You hear him grumble because of being called old man.
“I am joking around, you are not old at all. Don’t worry, hahaha…” You chuckle softly.

~ Meanwhile:
“What do you mean, Koharu?” Kagami said.
Koharu sighed, still trying to explain them. “Dont you think Sensei and Y/n-san getting closer to each other recently? Maybe they even have a relationship in secret?”
Homura speaks. “What makes you say that?”
Hiruzen interrupted. “Actually, i agree with that. They seem more comfortable with each other… and Sensei trusts her that he even lets her work alone in his office, among the secret and important documents…”
“She is his assistant after all, it doesn’t make them lovers or something!” Homura said.
“By any chance, could you be jealous of Y/n-san?” Koharu said.
“W-w-what?! No!”
“We all know you are fond of her.”
“Sh-shut up!”
Kagami speaks. “I realized something too…”
They look at him.
“Y/n-san has an effect on Sensei, even convincing him to take a day off. And sometimes, the way he looks at her… makes me think the possibility of if Sensei has feelings for her.” Kagami said.
Hiruzen says. “But sometimes Sensei gets mad at her so much, in unnecessary way… i was in his office once, Y/n-san was just back from a mission. It was before she got out of the Anbu… While she was giving the mission report, he found out she was sick in someway. Sensei got mad when he found out she didn’t tell him that she was sick, and let him give an assignment of a high rank solo mission. He trained us even when we were sick, he said we should be prepared for anything as a ninja. But isn’t it weird, he is getting mad at her just because going in a mission sick? Though she was an Anbu.”
Koharu speaks while smiling. “I knew it… he really has feelings for her!”

How About Me?
@kakagaievents
Prompt: Arranged Marriage
Words: 4826
Mei Terumi.
Anko Mitarashi.
Shizune.
Kurenai Yuhi.
That was only the beginning of the long list that the elders had presented Kakashi with just five minutes before he was supposed to call it a day and head home for the night.
A list of ‘acceptable marriage candidates’ according to Koharu. The fact that Mei, the Mizukage, was on the list at all told Kakashi all he needed to know about their desperation to marry him off as quickly as possible.
Giving it one more look over, he placed it down on his desk and shoved it back toward them. “No.”
Homura was the first to respond, rage burning in his eyes as he snatched the list off of Kakashi’s desk. “You’ve barely even looked at it!”
That was a lie. Kakashi had examined it three times and struck each person off one at a time, with very good reasons for why he would never marry them.
“You are a bachelor, Lord Sixth,” Koharu insisted. “A young bachelor. It’s unbecoming of a Hokage bot to have a partner.”
“Lord Second,” he spoke calmly, reminding them of their very own Sensei who had reigned as Hokage, a bachelor. “Lady Tsunade.”
“Lady Tsunade was in her fifties when she took the position of Hokage,” Koharu argued. “And her partner has been long dead. No one expected her to move on.”
“Yet you expect me to marry for, what? To make the village look better?” It all seemed tiresome to him. Even if he wanted to marry, why should he do it because someone else demands it? “Is Marriage not meant to be a Union of love?”
“Not always,” Koharu continued to argue. “Lord First married Uzumaki Mito to form a treaty with the Uzumaki clan. The love they had for each other came after.”
That was new information to Kakashi, but it changed nothing. While an arranged marriage may have worked for Lord First, it simply was not for him.
“There must be one person on that list who would make a good match for you,” Homura insisted. “Anko Mitarashi is a talented Jonin and a student of Orochimaru.”
“She is also more likely to stab me in my sleep than to marry me,” Kakashi counted. “Anko has no interest in marriage with anyone. She has made that very clear.”
Koharu glanced at the list in her partner's hand. “Kurenai?” She suggested. “She’s also a high-ranking Jonin and-“
Kakashi held up a hand to silence her. “Kurenai, like Tsunade-sama, has already lost the man she loved. I would never dare to think of stepping into his place.”
Even if he were to try, Kurenai would never allow it. She had plans to spend the rest of her life with Asuma and the Akatsuki had ripped those dreams out of her hands. There was no one in the world that could replace her lost lover in her mind.
“Shizune?” Homura continued to press. “She spends all day by your side already.”
Kakashi cringed at the thought. While Shizune was a much better match for him personality-wise, he did not fancy spending all of his time at work and at home with her. The two of them would surely get sick of each other within a month, and that wasn’t even touching on the fact that he’d have to deal with Tsuande-sama if he tried.
That was a match better left untouched.
“Mei,” Koharu tried once more, sighing when Kakashi shook his head. “It would be beneficial for both of our villages. You’re always talking about building stronger bonds. You’ve even washed your hands of old traditions and beliefs, against our advice, in order to strengthen the bond between the five great shinobi nations. Surely a marriage union between the two of you would create an even stronger bond between Konohagakure and Kirigakure. I am certain that she would be open to the union.”
All of that was true but it still wasn’t a good enough reason for Kakashi to marry a woman he barely knew. Even if she would be more than happy to marry him.
“If I am going to marry,” he began, pushing his chair back and standing up. “I would rather it be because I have a genuine bond with the person I am to spend the rest of my life with, not because they find me handsome.”
It was nothing against Mei. A woman who could find beauty even in someone as mediocre as him should be admired and respected. That still did not change the fact that he had no interest in marrying her.
“Now, if you two are done pestering me about this,” making his way around the desk, he narrowed and walked straight past them without concern for the stuttered protests that left their mouths. “I have plans tonight and it would be rather rude of me to be late for them.”
With that, he was gone. Leaving no trace of his presence save for the two elders standing in his office yelling into the open air with promises to continue this conversation when they saw him again.
Marriage.
Kakashi still couldn’t believe that this was the most important task in the elder's mind. To see him married off as quickly as possible as if they had the right to bud into his personal life.
Suffering through their long-winded discussions about the ‘importance of upholding the old ways’ was bad enough for Kakashi, but now they made it a point to interrupt him at every opportunity to talk about marriage.
He’d once felt sorry for Gaara when his own village elders attempted to marry him off with claims that it would be ‘for the good of Suna’, but now Kakashi understood his struggles all too well. Except, unlike Gaara, he didn’t have the respect of his village elders.
In fact, he was sure the two of them hated him and the feeling was quite mutual. If he could eject them from their positions and choose others to fill the spot he happily would. Unfortunately, it seemed that as long as the two of them were alive he was stuck with them.
Another unfortunate setback of being Hokage.
“Lord Sixth!” Stopping in his tracks, Kakashi frowned when he found himself faced with two very excited-looking women standing directly in front of him. It would be easy enough for him to avoid the three of them and continue on his way, but a good Hokage would stay right where he was and chat with them.
Kakashi was growing rather sick of being a ‘good Hokage’.
“It’s good to see you, Lord Sixth,” one of them stepped forward, long brown hair falling in front of her face. “I was just on my way to dinner, would you like to join?”
“I-”
“No,” The second woman stepped forward and shoulder-checked the other one away. “Lord Sixth wouldn’t you rather go for a nice walk around the village with me? I was thinking of stopping by the river for a relaxing read.”
“Well, you see-”
“Oh, he’d much rather go to the bookshop with me,” The third stayed back, but just one look at her told Kakashi that she was not one to be pushed around by the other two. There was a determination in those bright brown eyes that only a moron would ignore. “I was thinking of picking out a new book to read, and I was hoping you might have some suggestions.”
His eyes darted past the trio, searching for the quickest escape. Perhaps a distraction would do him best at this moment. Something to get their eyes off of him for just a second so he could make a swift escape.
“Tell them, Lord Sixth,” the brunette reached out and grabbed hold of his hand. “You’d much rather go to dinner with me, right?”
“Well, you see,” his eyes examined the area, searching for anything he could use as a distraction. “I was just on my way-”
“To meet with me!” A familiar voice called out behind him. A wave of calm washed over him when it reached his ear and all three women glanced past him to see who it was joining them. Kakashi didn’t need to look, though. He knew that voice better than any other sound in the world.
It was the voice that had called out to him on countless missions throughout his life, always with the same energy no matter what sort of danger they may have found themselves in.
“You?” The second woman frowned. “But Lord Sixth would much rather go reading beside the river with me, isn’t that right?” She turned her gaze towards him, but Kakashi paid her no attention. Instead, he looked to his right just as Gai’s wheelchair came to a stop directly beside him.
“That may be,” Gai smiled at the trio. “But Lord Sixth and I have already made plans. If you would like to have some time with him you’ll have to schedule ahead. He’s a very busy man you see, with lots of people who like to spend time with him.”
Lord Sixth.
Hearing those words from three strangers did nothing to Kakashi, but when they came from Gai’s mouth they felt like needles piercing deep into his ears. Unpleasant to listen to and downright insulting coming from the man who had called him ‘Rival’ all of their lives.
“But-”
Seeing his opportunity, Kakashi turned back to the three women and smiled. “It would be rather rude of me to cancel pre-made plans, wouldn’t it?” he asked. “If you’d like to make plans with me that’s fine, but it will have to wait until another time.”
Dejected, the women huddled together and walked away with their heads hung low.
Another near crisis averted,
With that taken care of he turned to face Gai. “Thank you.”
“Of course,” his friend beamed. “Though, this is getting rather out of hand, don’t you think Rival? It feels as though there is always someone trying to ask you out whenever we’re together.”
That wasn’t a lie. Wherever he went Kakashi found himself being approached by people he didn’t know. Some of them would ask for autographs and photos, but these days it felt like more than half of them were there to try and ask him out. As if all of Konoha had suddenly decided he was marriage material.
Perhaps the elders weren’t so wrong to worry about his status as a bachelor.
“They’ll figure out soon enough that I’m not interested,” he assured Gai. “They can’t keep trying forever, right?”
The look on Gai’s face was not comforting at all. A mix of skepticism and disappointment left Kakashi questioning whether he was ever going to escape from these endless attempts at asking him out.
“Maybe I should get married.”
Gai choked when he heard Kakashi’s words. “What did you say?”
Shaking his head, Kakashi pointed down the path in front of them. There were still three blocks between them and the restaurant they had made reservations at and if they didn’t hurry they were going to be late.
“Fine,” Gai agreed, understanding what he was saying without words. “But you’re explaining that comment when we settle in for dinner.”
Satisfied with that agreement, the two of them began walking toward their destination.
Kakashi had barely stepped inside the restaurant when the owner appeared in front of him with a warm, welcoming smile and directed him towards a seat in the back right corner of the tiny establishment.
There were no words exchanged between the two of them except a simple ‘thank you’ as Kakashi pulled back the second seat and shoved it against the wall so that Gai could claim his spot.
Once his friend was settled in, Kakashi made his way around the table and fell back into his seat with a sigh. The stresses of his workday melted away when his nose picked up the smell of grilled fish.
“I think I know what you’ll be ordering,” Gai chuckled on the other side of the table. “That look says it all.”
Unashamed of his predictable nature, Kakashi picked up the menu on his side of the table and carefully tucked it away behind the flower vase that sat on the left of the table right against the wall. “At least I won't be spending the next thirty minutes debating which is better, the Salmon sushi platter or Korma curry.”
Gai gasped at his accusation. “I do not spend thirty minutes deciding!”
“Sorry, I must have miscounted at our last dinner. Forty minutes.” His words are instantly rewarded with a gasp and the most dramatic chest grab he has seen since he was ten and insulted Obito’s goggles.
“You would insult me, Rival?” Gai gasped, the palm of his hand pressing hard against his chest as if he were trying to stop a gaping wound from bleeding out. “Your best friend in the entire world, and you would insult me like this?”
The show was entertaining, but Kakashi was more interested in eating than he was in listening to his best friend lament about broken trust and shattered friendships as if Kakashi had actually hurt him.
“In that case, you won’t mind if I order the Salmon sushi platter for you? Perhaps with some Cucumber Nori and dragon rolls?” He reached across the table and place a hand over Gai’s menu and stared at Gai with a playful twinkle in his eyes.
His teasing was instantly rewarded with a sulk. “I was hoping to get curry.”
“Curry then,” removing his hand he fell back against his seat with a sigh. “The perfect choice for you.”
There was nothing in the world that Gai liked more than curry, and there would be a complimentary plate of Tempura for him to devour as well since Kakashi wouldn’t touch the stuff. The harsh texture of deep-fried bread alongside the tender squishy food inside always seemed to overwhelm him making the treat impossible to enjoy.
“See, that didn’t take me forty minutes to decide.” Gai grinned an impossibly wide grin.
Without missing a beat, Kakashi responded to Gai’s smile with a mischievous grin. “You would have taken forty minutes if I hadn’t provided you with a challenge,”
A chopstick flew through the air, aimed directly at his forehead. Thankfully, with some quick reflexes, Kakashi was able to catch it before it even touched him. “You know it’s true.”
“There must be something better to speak about,” Huffed Gai, his smile suddenly returning to his face, telling of an idea that had suddenly struck him. “You were going to tell me what you meant when you said ‘maybe I should get married’”
Kakashi’s stomach dropped.
Of all the things for him to say, and all the people for him to say it in front of, he’d really put himself into an impossible situation by letting those five small words slip past his mouth.
There was no escaping this conversation and he knew it, but if anything that information only upset him more. Tonight was supposed to be a relaxing night with his best friend, not a continuation of a conversation that made him want to bash his head against a wall.
“Kakashi-“
“I know,” he waved a hand in front of his face, physically dismissing Gai’s insistence. “It’s just not the most pleasant conversation to have.”
“Well, perhaps I could help,” Gai offered. “You know you can trust me, right?”
There was no one in Konoha he would trust more than Gai, with Yamato as a very close second. His friend had pulled him out of trouble many times over their lives, but today was different. With no enemies to physically fight back, Gai was out of his element.
Still, Kakashi knew it wouldn’t do any good to avoid the conversation. Gai was a stubborn man who was more than capable of getting whatever he wanted out of Kakashi, even information.
Well, not all information, but still. This wasn’t a conversation that would put the village in danger or cost anyone their lives. If anything, it might alleviate some of his stress just talking about it.
So, with a tired sigh, Kakashi levelled his eyes on Gai. “The Elders have been pestering me these last few weeks.”
“That’s not really new,” Gai snorted. “They’ve been pestering you since you your inauguration finished, demanding you change your decisions to fit their old-style way of thinking.”
No truer words have ever been spoken. Koharu and Homura seemed to have a special place in their cold corrupt hearts for Kakashi. A spot that was filled with hatred for a man who had been a dutiful shinobi of Konohagakure. Ever since he was a kid the two of them always seemed to hate him, and that hatred had only increased when he was named as the Sixth Hokage.
Though they at least had the decency to try and disguise it as worry for the village’s future.
“Well, it’s a bit worse this time,” he continued. “They’re determined to marry me off to someone.”
Gai stared at him as though he’d just slapped him in the face. An expression of horror and confusion mixed perfectly so that he was sitting there like a very confused puppy.
“M-Marry?” he finally managed to force the word out, his voice sounding more like a frog’s croak than the cheerful, upbeat voice that Kakashi was used to. “They want you to marry?”
“That’s what I said, yes.”
The next few minutes were filled with silence. Kakashi stared off into the distance, examining the activities around them, and Gai processed what he had just heard. It would have been easy for Kakashi to go into more detail. Provide information on who had been suggested to him as marriage candidates, or even tell him just how long the two elders had been pestering him about the topic.
There was nothing to be gained from that information, though. Gai had received an adequate answer to his question and after a bit of thinking, he was bound to drop the topic since there was nothing that either of them could do about his situation.
It was simply a game of waiting, and if he was lucky the elders would die in their sleep and he’d never have to hear another word about ‘marriage’ again.
“What about me?” Gai spoke suddenly, his words spoken so confidently yet still leaving Kakashi feeling winded from the sheer force of them.
“You?” he wheezed, struggling to understand what was happening at this moment. “You want me to marry you?”
Puffing out his chest, Gai huffed. “Give me one good reason why not,” he insisted. “The elders want you to get married and we both know they’re not going to give up that easily. It’s not like Gaara’s situation where his village elders are willing to listen to him.”
The truth of his words wounded Kakashi. Not because he actually cared about how much Konoha’s elders respected him but because of just how right he was. There was nothing that could make those two change their minds once they’d made a decision.
They wanted him to marry and they weren’t going to stop pestering him about it unless he caved, or they finally had some mercy on the village and died.
There was only one reason he could think of to say no.
“What about you?”
“What about me?” Gai repeated his question back to him, a deep frown settling onto his face.
“What if you want to get married to someone else?” The thought of taking Gai away from the life he wanted, the life he deserved, didn’t sit well with him. For years Gai had stood by his side, always the dutiful friend dragging him out of trouble, and Kakashi had always accepted that help without hesitation.
This was different, though. It wasn’t just a fight Gai was jumping into in order to protect him or an enemy's attack that he was kicking away.
It was a marriage.
A commitment to spend the rest of their lives together no matter what obstacles they faced. He couldn’t ask Gai to do that for him. Not when he still had a chance to find real happiness with someone far more deserving of his love.
“Well, I don’t,” Gai shrugged his shoulders as if it was nothing. As though he wasn’t just handing his future to Kakashi without question or concern. “I don’t want to be with anyone else.”
“You can’t know that for sure,” Kakashi insisted. “We’re still in the springtime of our youth, right? You could still find someone to fall in love with.”
Leaning forward in his chair, Gai offered a soft, calming smile. The same smile he would always plaster onto his face when he could tell Kakashi was panicking, and then without any hesitation, he spoke words that seemed too good to be true.  “I know without a doubt that there is no one in this world I would rather spend the rest of my life with.”
Gai wanted him.
He was willing to marry him, even if it meant giving up his chance at finding someone else, all because Kakashi needed an easy way to get the elders off of his back.
It seemed like a miracle. A gift from the universe after a lifetime of pain. One which anyone with any intelligence would grab at without question.
“Why?” The question fell past his lips before he could even think to stop it.
“Isn’t that obvious, Rival?” Gai stared at him with kind eyes. Not the eyes of a friend, or even the eyes of an eternal rival trying to look out for him in the only way he knew how.
No, these eyes were different. They held a different emotion behind them. One Kakashi had only ever seen once before when he was very young, looking into his father’s eyes.
“Why me?“ he clarified, too many thoughts swimming around in his head for him to even try to make sense of. “I mean, you have a whole village of people who fawn over you.”
“As if you don’t,” Gai snorted, jabbing a thumb over his shoulder towards the entrance of the restaurant. “Or did you forget about the three girls who were just trying to ask you out not even five minutes ago?”
“T-that’s different!” Kakashi protested though he knew that wasn’t the case. Even if he didn’t understand why so many people were interested in him, going so far as to interrupt meetings and Kage summits just to try and ask him out on a date, there was no denying the facts of the situation.
People were interested in him. They wanted to date him, and they went to extreme lengths to try and do it until Homura and Koharu were pushing for him to marry just to put an end to it all.
“We both have other options,” Gai continued as he settled back into his seat with a sigh. There are a lot of people who would date us if we gave them a chance, the problem is we won’t do that.”
It sucked hearing it out loud. Like a parent scolding their kid for being ‘too harsh’ and refusing to play with others.
Gai was right though. Ever since he was a kid Kakashi had shoved off the affections of others. There was a long list of women and men who he’d turned down over the years, always trying to be nice but never unable to lie to them.
He simply wasn’t interested.
“But it’s different,” he whispered, thinking back over all the years he’d spent with Gai by his side. How he’d never pushed his friend away, even when he wanted to. Even when he thought it would be safer for Gai if he just moved on and forgot about him. “You and me. We’re different, aren't we?”
“We always have been,” Gai confirmed with a chuckle.
Marriage. The idea didn’t sound so bad when it was Gai he would be vowing himself to for the rest of his life. Somehow, it already felt like they’d gone through it all. Protecting each other from danger, sharing a bad, and telling each other their deepest fears and worries. They were all things the two of them had done many times over the years.
Getting married felt like the next logical step. He’d just never thought of it before.
“When?”
“This weekend,” Gai decided without even pausing to think. “Is that fast enough for the elders?”
It would have to be. There was too much for him to do before the weekend. An outfit was needed, as well as invitations to the select few people they would invite. No doubt their teams would be there, and Yamato would never have time to get back to the village.
There was no way Kakashi would let him miss such an important event in his life.
“This weekend,” he confirmed with surprising ease, his heart pounding inside of his chest as he processed what was happened. “You and me, rival.”
“Forever,” Gai confirmed with a fond smile. “After dinner, of course.”
Morning came all too quickly for Kakashi’s comfort.
After a fun night out with his best friend and future husband, the last thing he wanted to do was drag himself out of bed and go to work.
That was exactly what he did, though, and as soon as he claimed his seat and started to relax the doors to his office swung open to admit the last two people he wanted to see.
“Lord Sixth,” Koharu spoke firmly, leaving him no opportunity to shoo them away. “We’ve looked over the list again and made a few adjustment.”
For some reason, Kakashi was not surprised by this statement.
“A new list, hmm?” He settled back into his chair and made a show of thinking it over. “That’s rather… kind of you,” ‘kind’ was the last thing either of them were, but Kakashi had to be polite. They already made his life difficult enough, they would only get worse if he was rude to them. “However, it would be a waste of my time to read it over.”
“You must,” Homura insisted, the perpetual scowl on his face pulling his growing wrinkles a little further down today. “We will not leave here until yoy have decided on someone to marry. We have been linient enough on this topic.”
Lenient.
He refrained from laughing out loud at the use of that word. Clearly the man had no idea what it meant or he would never have dared to use it to reference the constant pressure he and his partner placed onto Kakashi.
“Still,” he continued. “It would be rather pointless for me to look through that list when I have already chosen who I will marry.”
“You can’t just-“ Homura stopped suddenly, his brain catching up with what Kakashi had said. “You… chose someone?”
“To marry?” Koharu added, sceptical of what she had just heard.
“I have,” Kakashi confirmed. “The wedding will take place this weekend. I assume you two will want an invitation?”
Perhaps he could convince Naruto to play up the knuckle headed goofball role for just one day. A special treat for the two constant thorns in his side.
Homura narrowed his eyes. “Who?”
“Gai.” Kakashi answered without hesitation.
Koharu’s jaw dropped.
“Gai?” Homura seemed doubtful, as if he expected Kakashi to suddenly announce that he was joking. Playing a good old trick on them.
Tricks weren’t Kakashi’s thing, though. At least, not in this case. Not when it was way more fun to tell the truth.
“Gai,” he confirmed, waving towards the pile of paperwork that sat in the middle of his desk. “Now if you’ll excuse me I have quite a bit of work to complete today, and Gai wanted to go browsing for a wedding cake this afternoon so I really should get to work.”
The two of them stood there for a moment, their eyes shifting between him and each other. Most days he could expect a quick, sharp response from them that was guaranteed to give him a headache, but today they were surprisingly quiet.
A pleasant change in his opinion.
“Lord Sixth-“
“No,” he cut Koharu off quickly. “You asked me to choose someone to marry, and I have. Unless you can think of any reason for me not to marry Gai, that does not include attacks on his personality,” he added swiftly when he saw Homura open his mouth to speak. “Then everything is dealt with and I will see you at the wedding this weekend.”
Silence.
Blissful silence enveloped his office as the two elders took one last look at him before doing a one hundred and eighty degree turn and storming out of the room.
Today was going to be a wonderful day. That much he was sure of.

Danny: You're not afraid?
Punch: Huh? Why?
Danny: I'm.......a monster.....I'm really a murderer.
Punch: Hmm......no big deal.
Danny: Huh?! Why?! I mean....don't you--
Punch: Because I was a murderer, too.
Danny: Huh????!!!!! YOU ARE?!
.
.
Punch: I did kill someone in the past. Because to protect them, my friends. I became a murderer who hunt the soulless or heartless in human form. I wanna feel that I'm actually alive. I killed someone for no reason.
Danny: Did you have friends once? Like your first friend.
Punch: Peter.
Danny: Hmm?
Punch: It's Peter. He's the only my friend.
Danny: Th......then go see him and dump all your worries on him!
Punch: He's gone far away.
Danny: Oh.......
Punch: .......................
Danny: So....uh.....
Punch: Heh! Peter was a selfish alien who was very much like humans! He'd come here only as he pleased! He's sick with his trauma life for many years! I don't know why I let it bother me! I hate humans!
Danny: Er.........(If you hate him then why do you tell me so much about him, Punch.)I guess I can't help you then.
Punch: *Stare Face* Did you say something?!
Danny: Woah! Nothing! Nothing at all!
Punch: ................I guess.....I just enjoy killing people.
Danny: Nonsense! You're not like that at all! You're not like me! I killed my family and my friends with my own hands!!
Punch: Wait...what about Jazz, Mr Jack and Ms Maddie?
Danny: They're not my real family. That family belong to "Daniel Fenton", not me!
Punch: We're the same, Danny.
Danny: But...you're more kind and care--
Punch: Just today then, we finish talking.
Danny: Okay.........
.
.
Punch: Danny. Why do you have to worry about me? Aren't you worried about Sam?
Danny: Huh?! Why?! I don't want you to be in harm's way. I'm doing this because you're my friend.
Punch: You already have a best friend. I'm asking you "why".
Danny: Because I'm........I.....I...... I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU!!
Punch: What?! Seriously?! Pfffff ha ha ha! Oh my god! There's NO WAY you're in love with me!! Hahahahahahahaha!
Danny: Hey! That's not funny! I'm serious about this! I love you as your friend not....um...Lover.....*Face turning red*
Punch: I see.......*Smile*Then.......*Creepy Smile*
*Sound of backflip*
Danny: Hey! What's a big deal?! Why are you doing that?!
Tumblr media
Punch: Will you die for me?
Danny: Sure. I will die for you. After all......I am who was born and exists in this world but because I am not a real human. I was rejected by this world even by people around me. That's why I want to be tough or act to be tough! I want to curse and irony for a life that was born unfairly! That unreasonable muddling Clockwork wanted to seal me! Ha...ha....did you know? I saw my own eyes....human organs...I ripped them...even ate them...
Punch: But the action you did in the past....doesn't mean you're evil.
Danny: BUT THAT DOESN'T CHANGE MANY SINS THAT I DONE IN THE PAST!! DO I DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE IN MY LIFE AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE DONE??!!
Punch: You deserved it, Danny. You wound up choosing a harder path. That's why I said you and me are the same.
Danny: ......what....?
Punch: You were hopeless and empty and tried to be suicidal like now.
Danny: I could get the death penalty. I'd rather die for you. It's more meaningful.
Punch: ......................No, thanks. I don't want to kill you.
*Thump Thump*
Punch: Danny, you should've protected your everyday life. Even your memories of when you were a human still have not come back yet. You shouldn't decide that you will die. If you don't right to exist in this world then I will be the one who reminds you that you exist.
Danny: ............!!
Punch: I keep watching you then.....the love you felt for me.
.
.
Tumblr media
*Sonic rushed to hug Danny.*
Sonic: You're not stupid! You're not a failure! I know what you're feeling now "Danny"! I felt the same way. I was once like you! You wanted to kill me right? I understand! I also once tried to kill Punch and Peter with my own power! That time I couldn't control myself my curse was far too strong! I felt like I was torn apart and don't want to live anymore! You have value! Value no one else has! I declare it here and now. In the world, I have two partners right here and now! So that value will never change, for all eternity!
Danny: Sonic...you.....
Sonic: I had enough of this.....I won't give up anymore even if you change...I will save you....even "Punch"...no...I will save King Gilgamesh....no matter how arrogant he is.
Danny: ............*Sob*...............*Sob*
Danny: ............*Sob* I really did have a place to exist.....
Sonic: I'm sorry. I know you ill fortune, but I have no words I can offer you. But if you say you have nothing left, what's most important for you now is yourself and the ordinary you are supposed to be.
*Flashback*
Punch: Danny, you should've protected your everyday life. Even your memories of when you were a human still have not come back yet. You shouldn't decide that you will die. If you don't right to exist in this world then I will be the one who reminds you that you exist.
*End of Flashback*
Danny: Heh...ha.....You and Punch really are the same person, aren't you? I'm surrounded by weird people. But being weird is the best thing, isn't it? Alright. I'll fight for my own sake like I always have done in the past long ago.
Sonic: I knew you'd say that.
Danny: I'll fight for my own sake like I always have done in the past long ago. I "love" Punch and Sonic, my precious partners! And I love you, Homura! From now on, I will continue to be a hero for the sake of this world! I know that I am no longer human but I own a passion, my courage, my desire, my wish and my feelings are still human! I am still me!

I very much believe in the philosophy of "don't like/don't read" and "don't like/don't watch" when it comes to engaging with various media.
However, I hate being in the position of kind of liking something quite a lot while still hating the choices the writers/creators are making. I am drawn to watch/read even as I am continually disappointed.
This is how I currently feel about Yashahime.
This is a long complaining post, so I'm putting it under the cut.
When Yashahime was first announced, I was excited to see the next generation of Inuyasha. The girls were cute, and I was looking forward to seeing the next chapter for my beloved characters.
However, sometime in July 2020 or so, I began to get the feeling that the writers/Sunrise/whoever was in charge was yanking everyone's chain.
Sesshomaru's daughters were half-demon/half-human. The mother was a human. To anyone who actually watched all of Inuyasha/read the manga, it was pretty obvious that there was only one human being who was going to be the mother of Sesshomaru's children.
Some people really did not like this idea. Some people really did. Obviously the mother was a grown up Rin. But this was not confirmed. Speculation about the twin's mother got heated.
In August, it seemed like we were going to get some resolution when Narita and Noto appeared together to reveal the twin's design. But no...they were coy. Jaken was the mom! Rin is the babysitter! Narita's comment about the twins looking like Rin was deleted in subsequent broadcasts.
The coloring of the twins was also a source of controversy. While we can look back and say oh, the twin's eye colors are from Sesshomaru's markings, it's still a little shady that they gave Towa RED eyes when so many people were still hopeful that Kagura might somehow, miraculously, be brought back to life (and turned human) to be the mother. It's doubly shady when we saw Rumiko Takahashi draw Towa with GOLD eyes, like her father.
Many people saw hints of Kagura or Naraku in the twins design, powers, etc...and while I never thought Kagura was going to be revealed as the mother, I do see where those hopeful souls were coming from, at least some of the time. While a lot of the claims that the twins were like Kagura were a clear reach, there were other times where I could see why they got their hopes up...especially when the show aired, and even 3 episodes in, they still had not said anything about the twins' mother.
Then we got the episode of Rin in the tree! Obviously, Rin was the mother. There was no doubt...except the narrative refused to confirm it. It was obvious, but the production continued to drag out the reveal.
By the time we had the episode confirming Rin as the mother, it fell a little flat...it wasn't a shocking reveal. Not for anyone with eyes and an understanding of Sesshomaru's story line. And if you did not have an understanding of the characters from before, I honestly don't know what you would find compelling about the story up to that point.
So, we finally have confirmation that Rin is the mother, so surely we'll be shown how the relationship grew from a platonic bond to a romantic relationship. Right?
We had already had the episode with Homura and Tamano, where a demon fell obsessively in love with a human (gosh! was it like that for the twins' parents??? Not a question that anyone who knew the original would ask, but it would have been nice to see the twins wonder). Then we had the sea snake demon and the fisherman's romance. Was there a misunderstanding like that between Sesshomaru and Rin? Surely not! Then we had the land god/deity guy and his human lover and son. Two whole episodes about them! Look at the parallels between Sesshomaru and Rin! But then when the time came where logically Setsuna might see her mother's red thread and learn the truth about her parents we get....Zero's relationship with Toga....
In the meantime, Setsuna's budding romance with Hisui (which I honestly don't mind), and Towa and Riku's "romance" (which I just don't find convincing yet. He fell in love way too fast) have had far more development than Sesshomaru and Rin's relationship.
So, okay...I guess we have to just fill in the gaps. Fine. At least Rin is now awake and she will meet her girls. It's sure to be at least as moving as Moroha's reunion with her parents...except...it's not.
Towa, who bursts into tears for Rion's situation, who falls in love with Riku within days, who wants to help every rando who crosses her path, just can't be fucked to give a care about her bio mom. Rin, one of the most loving, impulsive characters on the original show, has to be the proper noble wife. She doesn't even touch Towa when she thinks she's dying. Won't hug her girls until they return from their mission...but MOE hugs all three girls the minute she sees them back in the modern world. That was a nasty bit of animation. Knowing the audience wants to see Rin hug her girls and showing us Moe doing it instead is just mean.
So, after being jerked around endlessly, we now have to wonder...will Towa stay with her beloved adopted family (after a quick trip to the past to begrudgingly hug the birth giver) or will she return to the feudal era to live with the mom she really doesn't give a shit about. At this point, I don't think I even care which way she decides. I'm just tired of the unnecessary drama. Suspense can be wonderfully effective in a story, but Yashahime just needlessly yanks the audience's chain.

I have this F-Ran Opposite AU (fic? fanart?) idea.
Basically, in this AU, every character is the opposite of their canon selves, with altered backstories.
Ranmaru and Chilka will switch places.
Ranmaru's the one propagating wicked souls in the human world. He's referred to as Betelgeuse by everyone, with 'Ranmaru' being his alias. His methods involve finding someone who isn't exactly bad, and then encouraging them to pursue their interests as selfishly as possible, which creates victims whose hearts need saving. His Holy Form here has two cracked, crumbling wings he cannot lift, and no armor; looks a bit like a black version of canon!Chilka's Holy Form outfit, but his' comes with shorts and long sleeves, kind of like a form-fitting romper (shorts are still flared, though).
Meanwhile, Chilka is deployed to the human world with four other fairies to gather Attachment. A lot more spaced-out in this AU due to amnesia, he only ever speaks cryptically like canon!Chilka. Any fairy listening would either go "Uh, okay," "Huh?" or "Yeah, I get it! (Actually doesn't get it)". His Holy Form wears a black sleeveless tunic with a belt. He has no shoulder pads, only elbow pads connected to long gloves, and wears trousers with boots. His hair is in two low pigtails, resembling canon!Chilka's corrupted wings. I'd make him (and I guess the other Lux Fairies in general) wield a bow and arrow.
Ranmaru is a lot more direct than canon!Chilka. When they meet in battles, he doesn't speak in riddles and gives it to Chilka straight that the latter (and the other fairies) are being used, to which Chilka will respond, "And I should trust the words of a villain?" Ranmaru is also Chilka's classmate who no one, including Chilka, notices. He quietly observes him and the other fairies in the school.
Homura and Uruu will also switch places, or at least swap the basic parts of their personalities, as in Homura adopts a more goody two-shoes character while Uruu becomes the bad boy.
Homura's dad is spared in this AU, so Homura grows up to be a lot more cheerful. He's very gung-ho about being a hero here. When he's in the human world, he's constantly on the lookout for people to help. Not a member of any specific club in Et Flan de Muse Academy, but has volunteered his help to every club there. He's not so much a stickler for the rules than just insisting one should always do the right thing, which he is aware depends on the situation and individual.
Uruu never reported his mother's affair. Instead, he gets disillusioned, and learns to secretly break rules to make himself happy (like what his mother did). Upon arriving to the human world, Uruu takes this one chance in his life where he's mostly, if not completely, beyond his father's scrutiny to be freely imperfect, such as skipping classes to make surrealistic paintings and engaging in hedonistic activities, like canon!Takara. His human form looks like young!Cherry from 'SK8 The Infinity'.
Similar to canon, Homura and Uruu don't get along too well, except this time, it's Homura who starts the arguments. However, he nags Uruu out of concern because the latter would do self-destructive "wrong things" in the name of self-fulfillment. Unfortunately, Uruu doesn't appreciate Homura's concern. He'd say, "I don't tell you how to live your life, so don't tell me how to live mine."
On their better days, Uruu flirts with Homura (mainly to tease him) out of curiosity over what his mother saw in her secret lover, whom he does not know is Homura's father; only that he's part of the Ignis Clan. Homura himself is totally unaware of the affair and always gets flustered by Uruu's advances. Over time, though, it slowly becomes less of joke for the both of them.
Jyuka becomes Bar F's guardian, but Takara still has his secret mission.
Jyuka is quite proud to be an Arbor Clan fairy because he knows how important his clan is to the Fairy World. In fact, he's proud to have so much power over other fairies, although he'd never abuse his position or withhold healing someone he didn't like; he'd just lord it over them that they owe him. Since he's aware of how cool he is and very secure about it, Jyuka can consciously act cute. He was given the guardian role to ensure everyone is in tiptop shape to collect Attachment.
Occasionally, Homura strains himself helping too many people with too many things, and Jyuka has to fix him up. When Uruu collapses somewhere in the city after taking too many substances his human body has little tolerance for, Jyuka roller-skates to where Uruu is, cleanses him, and takes him home.
Takara's father was never overthrown. Because of that, Takara was able to succeed his throne and become the leader of the Metallum Clan. The problem is, thanks to his father teaching him not to tolerate sinners, Takara developed a rather tyrannical character. Without his canon experiences, Takara is very serious and cold (Jyuka's the teaser now). Part of the reason he was assigned to this family (the other part being to hunt down Ranmaru) was to make sure no one goes astray, especially Chilka.
Takara rides a pink motorcycle around the city looking for Ranmaru and clients. Whenever Chilka mentions a human he noticed, Takara will find that person to see if they're Ranmaru. They never are.
Since Jyuka's the guardian, he's responsible for providing the fairies a home in the human world and food, so he used the budget allocated for the mission to rent rooms in Et Flan de Muse Academy's dorms. He offered to get Takara a job in the school, like a teacher or janitor, but was turned down. After classes, the boys will find Takara waiting at the front gate, counting money he got from doing odd jobs during the day. The jobs get him contacts, and he uses them to find clients and clues to Ranmaru's whereabouts, and the money pays for his hotel room. The boys have their meals taken care of by the academy, and Takara could easily eat out, but Jyuka makes the latter a lunch bento every day (and he's always experimenting with recipes and bento designs). The bento is delivered by the bat-winged sloth.
The Queen will swap roles with her butler.
The throne is replaced with a leather armchair. In it sits the President of the Fairy World. On his left at all times is his Maid, who's keeps him cool with a big ostrich feather fan, and Bakkun sits on his lap, near to his right hip, eating an assortment of snacks. Bakkun can't play any videogames; he doesn't have fingers to push the buttons.
If I weren't working on another thing right now, I would draw up some designs. However, I am considering writing a fic of this after the series ends.

Ranking my favorite characters of each of my favorite animes / mangas
For the record: I don't own any of the following artworks bellow. All the credit go for their own original artists
Top 10: Olivier Mira Armstrong (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Tumblr media
Olivier Mira Armstrong (オリヴィエ・ミラ・アームストロング, Orivie Mira Āmusutorongu), also known as Major General Armstrong is the primary heir to the illustrious Armstrong family, the commanding officer charged with the protection of Amestris' northern border at Fort Briggs and the older sister of Alex Louis Armstrong. Olivier is a severe woman who has a fearsome and commanding presence where she is harsh with her subordinates and peers and coldly merciless to her enemies, the deceptively beautiful woman's schadenfreude has earned her the nickname "Ice Queen" among the Briggs soldiers. Sharp-tongued and highly combative, Olivier is no stranger to furious chastisements and bursts of fiery violence, especially toward those who fail to live up to her high standards and staunch adherence to the "survival of the fittest" philosophy.
Top 9: Mikasa Ackerman (Attack On Titan)
Tumblr media
Mikasa Ackerman (ミカサ・アッカーマン Mikasa Akkāman) is the adoptive sister of Eren Yeager and one of the two deuteragonists of the series, along with Armin Arlert.
After her biological parents were murdered by human traffickers, Mikasa was rescued by Eren Yeager and lived with him and his parents, Grisha and Carla, before the fall of Wall Maria. Though she desires only to live a peaceful life, Mikasa entered into the military—where she is considered the best soldier among the 104th Training Corps. She later enlists in the Survey Corps to follow and protect Eren, becoming one of its greatest assets. She is currently serving as an officer (上官 Jōkan) in the Corps. Mikasa cares deeply for her friends and caretakers, seeing them as the last remnants of a family she cannot afford to lose. Mikasa also appears to have a soft spot for children, and she has a strong sense of right and wrong, doing everything she can to make her most impulsive friends to follow what she thinks is the right track. Despite that, she knows well that she cannot always sway them in decisions and makes it a point to follow them whenever they go, just so that she can be around to help out when trouble arises.
Top 8: Kamina (Gurren Lagann)
Tumblr media
Kamina (カミナ, Kamina) was a young man from Jeeha Village, the founder and first leader of Team Gurren and deuteragonist of the first arc of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. At first glance, Kamina is boisterous, hotheaded and arrogant. He demands recognition and seems hungry for greatness, illustrated in his tendency to call himself "the Mighty Kamina" and his signature catchphrase, "Just who the Hell do you think I am?!" He is an undeterred idealist, often to the point of ignorance; Yoko has described him as "a man of unlimited stupidity." Kamina is also very perverted, declaring that the urge to stare at beautiful women is the definition of a man.
However, Kamina is also extremely determined and never lets anything keep him down for long. Even discovering that his father was dead only made him solemn for a night or two (visibly at least). He is also devoted to defending and supporting his friends and loved ones, fighting with all his strength to protect them. In turn, he is very charismatic in the heat of battle, able to inspire even the timid Simon to accomplish great feats and almost single-handedly set the foundations for Team Dai-Gurren.
Despite his often brazen and practically insane actions, Kamina is fairly insightful, as his bombast and seemingly blind confidence usually mask his true intelligence in planning and combat. He even personally admits that his bravado and fearlessness is mostly a device he uses to hide his own worries and to support others, and that he thinks people like Simon are the real heroes.
Top 7: Sebas Tian (Overlord)
Tumblr media
Sebas Tian (セバス・チャン), alas "The Iron Butler", is the head butler of the Great Tomb of Nazarick with several manservants and other butlers under his command. He was created by Touch Me. He is also the leader of the Pleiades Six Stars.
Although he is not one of the Floor Guardians, his power closely rivals theirs. In a way, he is independent of their chain of command. He originally served as Nazarick's last line of defense alongside the Pleiades on the 9th Floor, to give time for the guild, Ainz Ooal Gown, to prepare for their final stand in the Throne Room. Like his creator, Touch Me, Sebas Tian has a great deal of personal justice. Unlike many other denizens in Nazarick, he does not completely despise humans or see them as inferior creatures. Instead, he believes that some humans are good people and it is the duty of the strong to protect the weak. However, humans with an ugly nature disgust him and he will not hesitate to kill anyone who dares to oppose Nazarick. Sebas has a stoic nature, but also tends to question his own actions whether it was right or wrong of him to do them contrary to his master's order. Not sure why he does it, Sebas does believe that Touch Me's will is what encouragingly motivates him to act the way he does and that it conflicts with the will of his current master.
Top 6: Brago (Gash Bell)
Tumblr media
Brago (ブラゴ, Burago), alongside his partner and bookkeeper Sherry Belmont, are considered the rivals of the main characters Zatch Bell and Kiyo Takamine, even though the teams fought a relatively small amount of times. Since their first appearance, they were one of the most powerful teams in the series, and have been seen burning more spellbooks than any other one. Brago is very quiet and is rarely seen socializing with other mamodos, he is often described as being "strong and cool". He is often seen crossing his arms or sticking them in his pockets. Not much is revealed about his life or personality, other than he resents weakness and especially requiring a human's help to win the demon kingship. However, despite often complaining that Sherry is too weak to help him, he thanks her for all that she has done for him in the final battle. He is extremely strong, often defeating other mamodo teams without even requiring the use of spells; because of his strength, which was gained from undergoing special elite training, many mamodo have come to fear him as one of the strongest. Brago's specialty is Gravity Magic.
Top 5: Guts (Berserk)
Tumblr media
Guts (ガッツ Gattsu) , renowned as the "Black Swordsman", is a former mercenary and branded wanderer who travels the world in a constant internal struggle between pursuing his own ends and protecting those dear to him.
At one time driven solely by his will to survive, Guts finds purpose in life upon joining the Band of the Falcon, greatly helping in the faction's storied successes during the Hundred-Year War as captain of the band's raiders. He eventually becomes dissatisfied with clinging on to Griffith's dream, and departs from the band in pursuit of his own. Following the horrors of the Eclipse prompted by Griffith, Guts embarks on a two-year war against the God Hand and apostles, becoming increasingly embittered on his one-track quest for retribution. He in time realizes protecting his regressed lover is more important to him, as well as something he cannot do alone, and thus seemingly abandons his quest for revenge while fostering camaraderie with his new companions. Known for his air of austerity, Guts is a gruff, cynical man holding an overall bleak outlook on life. This is a consequence of enduring waves of suffering and numerous betrayals since his youth, with nearly all highlights of his life having, in time, become lows. In spite of his guarded, brooding exterior, he shows a more easygoing, compassionate side around the people he trusts, appearing markedly less unsociable and distant, though still retaining his dry candidness. Even as his inner darkness festers deep within him and its temptation becomes increasingly harder to resist, he retains his empathy and compassion, refusing to completely discard his humanity.
Top 4: Akemi Homura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)
Tumblr media
Homura Akemi (暁美 ほむら Akemi Homura) is one of the main characters in the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series. Ever since her arrival at Mitakihara Middle School, Homura is immediately depicted as being very intelligent, athletic, distant, and cold. It is revealed in episode four that she is only like this because she has seen so much suffering during her tenure as a magical girl. Because of this, she does not want Madoka Kaname to become a magical girl and tries to do anything in order to stop her from making a wish with Kyubey, going as far as to attempt to injure and even kill the cat-like creature. Despite her cold attitude towards others, she still very much cares for Madoka, as it is her sole objective to protect her due to the countless amount of blood, sweat, and tears she has shed over her jumps in time. Despite being regarded as emotionless by Sayaka Miki, Homura is far from it. Although she does not easily show signs of remorse, sadness, or pity, it is only because she had grown used to the suffering around her, and must put up a strong front to continue fighting for her goal. Homura herself has stated that she always feels badly with each life she's unable to save or alter, but nevertheless, it does not slow her down from staying true to her main objective in saving Madoka Kaname.
Top 3: Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez (Bleach)
Tumblr media
Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez (グリムジョー・ジャガージャック, Gurimujō Jagājakku) is an Arrancar and was the Sexta (6th) Espada in Sōsuke Aizen's affiliated army. While appearing to be a laid-back individual, Grimmjow possesses a brutal, impulsive, and excessively violent personality alongside a lethally short temper. However, despite his aggression and obvious blood lust in battle, Grimmjow possesses a feral cunning and has a knack for quickly exploiting any opening his opponent reveals. In addition, he is blunt, sarcastic and quite sadistic, revealing a psychotic grin or laughing maniacally whenever he becomes excited. He is also very rude and quite disrespectful. Grimmjow uses none of the honorifics in the Japanese language, except when addressing Aizen (though he is quick to discard the formality when Aizen is not around), and refers to Orihime Inoue as woman in conversation. Grimmjow displays little respect for authority and says whatever is on his mind, regardless of whether or not it is appropriate. However, he does have some form of a code of honor, as he is unwilling to fight an injured Ichigo, bringing Orihime to heal him beforehand so that their battle will be a fair one, though he also wants to defeat Ichigo when he is at full strength. He also saves Orihime from Loly Aivirrne and Menoly Mallia, who were beating her up, to repay the debt of restoring his arm, though he immediately demands another favor afterwards.
Top 2: Kujo Jotaro (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)
Tumblr media
Jotaro Kujo (空条 承太郎 , Kūjō Jōtarō) is the protagonist of Part 3 and also appears in Parts 4-6. Jotaro is the third and most recurring JoJo of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series.
Jotaro is a delinquent who lives an ordinary life until the Joestar Family's old enemy, DIO, returns. Jotaro travels to Egypt in order to save his mother and stop the Vampire once and for all.
Wielding the incredibly powerful Star Platinum, Jotaro is the first JoJo introduced with a Stand, and is among the most well-known characters of the series. Jotaro is introduced as a rough delinquent, but he has a gentle heart, and is loyal to those he likes. He is highly perceptive, intelligent and quick-witted while keeping a perpetually cool, slightly neutral or disinterested attitude. Jotaro's most noticeable trait is his seemingly aloof nature. He is a quiet individual, often satisfied with expressing himself in short phrases. While he was shown to be mildly anxious when something unanticipated happens, Jotaro almost never goes as far as to lose his cool.
Top 1: Charlotte Katakuri (One Piece)
Tumblr media
Charlotte Katakuri ( シャーロット・カタクリ , Shārotto Katakuri) is the second son and third child of the Charlotte Family and the elder triplet brother of Daifuku and Oven. He is also one of the Three Sweet Commanders of the Big Mom Pirates and serves as Totto Land's Minister of Flour (粉大臣, Kona Daijin), governing over Komugi Island.
Due to his actions and role, he is the secondary antagonist in the second half of the Whole Cake Island Arc. Katakuri has a very serious, no-nonsense demeanor, caring greatly about his crew and family's objectives. With his heightened Kenbunshoku Haki allowing him to see a little bit into the future and make smart judgement calls, he is dedicated to efficiently dealing with all possible threats within his vicinity, and is thus among the few Charlotte children that can be seen taking action without instructions from Big Mom herself. Katakuri is a pragmatic individual who puts efficiency above almost everything else, to the point of being considered a perfectionist. He rarely brags about his abilities, instead being rather focused on accomplishing his goals as fast as possible, intercepting and defeating his enemies in a quick, effective manner while prioritizing the elimination of threats he perceives as potentially serious, going as far as taking extra steps to ensure they are stopped in case his mother and siblings fail to do so. He is also capable of extreme brutality as shown when he pondered on how he should maim Luffy with his trident. Though ruthless to opponents, he is extremely caring towards his family and subordinates. Katakuri is also a honorable man who dislikes other people interfering with his fights. Though he considers Luffy his enemy and desires to eliminate him personally before he can become a threat, he wishes to defeat him fairly. After discovering that Flampe was the one attacking Luffy and lowering his performance in the fight, Katakuri injured himself in the same spot he injured Luffy to compensate and angrily shouted at Flampe for interfering in his fight.

First Kiss
Fandom: Edens Zero  | Pairing: WEISZMURA | One-Shot | Rated: T
Link Fanfiction net
(One Shot) The crew of the Edens Zero interrupts Weisz's play in a virtual romance game. Frustrated, he gets up late at night to play in peace, only to find that he is not the only one who is curious about that type of games (WeiszMura)(Translated Fic)
Edens Zero and its characters belong to Hiro Mashima.
First Kiss
— Water Lock
"Please, be gentle Weisz-sama…" She whispered, her voice but a soft whisper, a delicate thing tinged with seduction.
Weisz felt his face flush, his eyes wandering over the image in front of him, committing it to memory. Narrowed eyes peering up at him, white hair tied in two long pigtails that trailed down her body which led to the steep neckline to the impeccable white apron that fitted her waist perfectly.
The boy bit his lower lip, a silly laugh escaping his lips.
He knew his face was red. There was no way it couldn't be. Not to mention he could feel the burning all the way from his cheeks to his ears.
"Disgusting," Hermit scoffed, much too close to Weisz for his liking.
"I can't believe you kissed all three," Rebecca added, her nose scrunching in disgust, while her voice was filled with reproach.
Exasperated, Weisz rolled his eyes and tuned out the others, excusing himself from the game and looked around. He wasn't even sure when the rest of the crew decided they could impose on his bubble of privacy, but they were all gathered around him as if there was nothing else better to do on the ship than to annoy him.
Great group, I got here, huh?
Rebecca and Homura were at either of his sides, trapping him between, Shiki was settled next to the blonde, while the androids sat in chairs behind the spacious armchair occupied by the four humans.
Happy and Pino watched the interaction curiously from their spots on the backrest between Shiki and Rebecca.
"Leave him," Sister intervened, perched on her spot, sporting a glass of wine that was almost empty.
Bet it's her fifth one.
The blonde boy looked up to see the android hold out her glass so that Moscoy could refill it with wine.
"I bet it's the only way the poor guy can get a kiss anyway," She said, shooting him a smirk.
Weisz growled under his breath…..he couldn't think of anything to say back to that.
"This game looks pretty fun," Shiki bumped in, diverting the issue to which the other male (human) member welcomed with open arms.
The crew chief looked at the screen as dumbfounded as he was a few moments ago and Weisz was grateful to share his taste with someone else.
It was clear that the female crew members did not exactly approve of the way he played.
"It's strange," Hermit said, her eyes studying the screen, filled with distrust, "The game shouldn't allow you to kiss the three candidates," She said suspiciously, watching him as he laughed a little nervously," She narrowed her eyes, "Did you modify the code?"
"Who do you take me for?" He asked, feigning indignation. Of course, he modified the code….but he wasn't going to let Hermit know that. "A cheater?" He asked.
The Android only raised an eyebrow that was accompanied by Rebecca giving the exact same look.
"And who is going to choose Lover-Boy?" Sister asked, still nursing her glass of wine, "At some point, you will have to choose…" She said, her eyes not focused on him whatsoever.
"It's very hard to choose…." Weisz sighed out and looked at the screen with a dreamy look, "All three have big qualities…" He said, almost as if this were the biggest decision of his life.
"Yeah right," Rebecca scoffed, "I'm sure it's the qualities you're looking at right now," She said, rolling her eyes.
Weisz simply ignored Rebecca's sarcasm, his head too focused on picking the right choice as he meditated on his tempting options.
The history of the games was very simple:
He was a lucky young man who inherited a fortune and a mansion from a distant uncle. This led him to the three choices he had:
There was Chelsea, a waitress for him in the luxurious house. She was his age, sweet and tender, took care of the domestic chores of the place, cooked for him, and treated him like a king.
Shortly after settling there, Justine appeared in the house and decided to live with him. She was his childhood friend who claimed to be a nurse and took care of his health. Although her personality was something bossy fierce, you could tell she cared about him and Weisz liked her more serene contrast.
Finally, then there Miranda. She was sent by the family's lawyer to teach him some manners. It was noted that she was a few years older than the rest of the characters…but that only made her look more attractive to the perverse eyes of the player, who had some enjoyment in the interactions that he had with her. Miranda was strict, formal and had an air of seductive authority….which made her that much better.
"Well," Shiki said, "I would choose Justine," He said, and all eyes fell on him, "She's the childhood friend, and that has great value,"
I should've guessed that's what he'd say.
"That's true," Rebecca agreed, "Out of the three, she's the one that knows him the most," She said, causing Weisz to cock his head in slight confusion.
"I would select Miranda," The player turned his head to his long black-haired companion. It was the first time she'd spoke since they'd all settled here. "But I will not say it out loud," She added.
"You just did," Rebecca said, a soft smile gracing her face.
"But Chelsea treats me like a king…" He argued, looking at the screen, the girl dressed as a maid returned and looked somewhat embarrassed by the kiss she had just blown.
The game continued and the virtual girls began to behave very strangely… Suddenly, the devout candidates suspected his actions and began to accuse him of playing with their feelings. Weisz didn't even begin to understand why the characters behaved in that way and the answers offered by the game did not lead him to the solution of the conflict.
"His girls" were getting angry with him and what seemed impossible happened…
"I can't believe it," He huffed in shock, dropping the controller, feeling dejected as he watched Chelsea leave the house. She was the last of the girls to leave him. "The three of them rejected me!" He exclaimed.
"You deserve it for being a pervert," Rebecca said, crossing her eyes, an amused smile filling her face.
"You did this!" He said, pointing an accusing finger at the blue-haired android. She simply smiled innocently….at least one that appeared innocent.
"I don't know why you would think that," Hermit said, feigning innocence as she spoke.
"You are the only one who can modify the code of the game!" He concluded.
"No, I am not," She defended, her stoic expression returning, "You can modify it too. After all, that is why the characters behaved like that with you,"
"What's wrong with that?!" He asked frustrated, "It's just a game!"
"I don't know Weisz…" Shiki said uncertainly, holding a finger to his cheek, his eyes still fixed on the screen, "You played with their feelings, that isn't right,"
"Hey, you said you thought it was interesting," Weisz said.
"I think it's interesting to make friends," He clarified, "But playing with feelings….that's not right," he said.
"The Demon King, always so considerate," Weisz rolled his eyes at Witch's comment and turned off the console.
He sat on his place, his arms crossed and clearly obfuscated. He spent four hours playing that game! It wasn't fair of them to just ruin his efforts (not counting what it took him to change the code of the game, which took even longer).
"Oh, don't get mad, Weisz. It was only a game," Rebecca said, not understanding the silent tantrum he was having.
"That wasn't what you thought while I was playing," He answered the blonde snarkily, "I'm going to rest," He said, frustration filled throughout his voice.
Weisz got up from his place and went to his cabin.
As he was leaving, he could still hear the voices of his "supposed friends" commenting on his game.
...
Later, Weisz had learned that frustration wasn't really the best feeling to go to sleep with.
Throughout the night, the three girls fluttered in his consciousness and Weisz wanted to know the real end of the game, to what extent it would show him that enviable life inside the mansion, surrounded by beautiful girls willing to do anything for him….
Without warning, he got up from his bed and walked quietly through the corridors of the Edens Zero. He made his way to the room with the huge holographic screen and the video game console. Much to Weisz's surprise, he quickly realized not everyone in the crew was asleep. Apparently, someone else had taken an interest in his game. Someone he couldn't fathom the idea of playing it.
"Homura?!" He asked, uncertainty filling his voice.
Startled, the girl turned to face him, her arms readied to throw the controller on the ground and bolt from her place.
"You scared me!" She exclaimed, quickly covering her mouth with the sleeve of her kimono, and regained composure, "What are you doing awake?" She asked.
He shook his head, "That's the question I should be asking. What are you—," He stopped his question midsentence, his eyes fixed on the screen.
His partner was playing the female version of the same game.
"Oh," He said, indifferently, " I didn't know you liked these games," He said, taking the chair next to her and sitting down.
"I was just trying it," She answered, not even bothering to look at him, "I will not say I was curious," she said.
Weisz smiled at her antics but didn't say anything about it.
"And?" He asked, "How are your suitors?"
"They are very similar to the girls," She answered simply, "But there are some differences. For example, the code is not altered," She said, something in her voice.
Curious, he looked at her out of the corner of his eye and recognized some mockery in her expression, although very slight.
"Do you already know who you are going to stay with?" He asked, stretching his arms on the backrest of the chair, his eyes fixed on the hologram.
"I'm not sure," She answered while selection one of the options of the game, "Maybe the teacher," she said thoughtfully.
"You know? It sounds like some kind of complex," Weisz said, watching as Homura navigated her way through the game.
"Complex?" Homura asked confused, lowering the control in her hands. "You mean because of my teacher, right?" She asked.
Weisz did not answer her.
"It's not like that ... I just really miss her," Homura clarified, her brown eyes glazed over with sadness, that was gone before it was even there.
"Sorry," He said, noticing the slight change in the attitude of his partner.
Valkyrie was obviously a sensitive issue for her.
"I didn't mean to be disrespectful," Weisz added, genuinely feeling sorry for bringing it up.
"It's alright," Homura responded, "I understand," She said as she selected another option, this time rejecting the advances of "the childhood friend" in the game.
"Well," Weisz said, "The friend is now taken care of. Now, all that's left is the teacher and the nurse," He said, almost as if he were announcing the game.
The game continued and Homura's responses became more and more obvious who she was going to choose.
Despite the discomfort of his comment, it seems that "the teacher" would be the lucky winner.
Weisz just watched as the game unraveled, and he had to admit that letting the story flow was more entertaining than the modifications he had introduced in his game before. Not only that, but it seemed to be different depending on if it was a girl or boy playing because the script seemed different.
He felt comfortable just watching her play. Unlike Rebecca who got a little crazy when she played, Homura maintained her relaxed and calm posture. Instead of watching a game, it seemed that, in front of his eyes, a romantic film about a teacher and her student was screening before his eyes.
But when "the nurse" was rejected and feelings for the last candidate became obvious, he noticed how Homura tensed at his side.
"What's the matter?" He asked curiously. He watched as she swallowed nervous saliva.
"It's time," She said, her nerves overcoming her normally calm expression.
"Time for what?" Weisz asked, not understanding what she was so nervous about.
"For the kiss," The girl said, her cheeks colored as soon as she said it.
Weisz couldn't help but giggle like a little school girl.
"Of course," He replied, "You're finishing the game,"
She nodded and her eyes widened as the "winning" candidate declared his eternal love for her. Wiesz was sure that even if she wanted to, Homura couldn't blush any more than she already was. It was like looking at a tomato.
"Are you nervous?" He asked.
She didn't answer but he noticed how she held the air when character kissed the screen.
He also noticed how she after she seemed somewhat disappointed.
"Hmm," She finally said, "It's not the big deal," she said indifferently, rising from her place.
"You didn't like it?" Weisz asked, confused by her reaction.
"It did not displease me," She said as she stretched her kimono, smoothing out the wrinkles of the fabric. Her face returned to normal, and turned to show her serene and unchanging expression, "I thought it would be special, but I will not say it out loud,"
"It was a game," He answered, smiling, "It's not the same as in real life,"
"In real life, it's special?" She looked at him curiously and he felt nervous.
"Huh?" He asked, taken aback by the question, "Yes, of course," He paused, "…..at least I hope," He added unconsciously.
"You are not sure?" Homura asked, her piercing eyes drilling a hole in him.
"Is that I…" He looked away; his eyes fell on the screen. "I have not kissed anyone either," He confessed.
"We should try," She said abruptly.
Weisz flipped his head towards her. Surely, he heard that wrong. There's no way she just said what he thinks.
"What?" He asked, utterly dumbfounded.
"We should try," She repeated as if it were not crazy, "Since neither you nor I have experienced it," She said, "What is wrong with us trying?" She asked.
"Well…" He said thoughtfully, "Nothing would be wrong, but…"
"Are you not curious?" Homura asked, cutting him off.
"Yes," He answered without hesitation, "Yes, I'm in,"
"Let's try," She said, not moving from her spot in front of him.
Weisz watched her suspiciously.
He didn't know what Homura was thinking, but from her expression, it seemed as if they were going to fight a duel, not kiss. He sighed and got up from his place to stand right in front of her.
He would be lying if he said he hadn't been tempted to kiss her before (actually fantasized about doing it more than once). Still, that didn't mean he could do it well or what his partner's expectations were.
His eyes fell to her lips and he unconsciously licked his own, making his decision.
Yes. He was going to try. He would kiss Homura.
"Ready?" He asked, placing his hands on her shoulders. The girl just nodded and stared into his eyes. For a moment, he was lost in them, in their deep dark color. He felt as lost in them as did anyone who first made their way through the galaxy. He searched for any sign of regret but found none, he only found the determination that characterized her.
"Ready." She answered firmly.
The air became dense, the nerves swirled in his stomach and for a moment he was only aware of the heat emanating from their bodies.
He brought his face close to hers, felt her soft, warm breath strike against his cheek and, gathering much courage, joined his lips with hers.
He had intended for the kiss to be short. He only planned for their lips to join, and then separate out of fear that she'd cut his head off with her sword if they touched for any longer.
However….the moment the softness of her mouth collided with his, he could not help but want to prolong the moment. His lips moved, seeking to capture her softness. He found himself wishing the kiss would never end.
But just like everything else, at some point, it must end.
"I will not say it out loud," She whispered to him when they separated.
Embarrassed, they both diverted their eyes.
Weisz put his hands in his pockets, unsure of what to do with them as he waited anxiously.
"What?" He asked, "What is it that you will not say?" He asked, the tension in the air thick as he noticed the blush on her cheeks as she covered her mouth with the sleeve of her kimono.
"That I liked it," She finally said through her kimono.
She smiled sweetly and left the room.
Weisz felt a strange grin on his face with a silly smile.
Being alone in the room, the blond boy observed the screen of the game that showed the starting screen, waiting for a player to be chosen to start the game. He turned off the hologram and the console, deciding he was not interested in the kisses of the virtual characters.
His fingers traced his still moist lips and smiled.
No, he'd much rather prefer the kisses of a brown-eyed, black-haired, warrior.
Thanks for Reading!

1. What is your favorite relationship type to write/read? Romantic, platonic, familial, and any subtypes.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHnggfdbhdf any kind of type really is always going to be the protective pessimist and the sunshine but guiltily also for the romantic type i also love me the demon edgelord fucks who everyone else is terrified from but is cowed into submission by their sunshine other half who can and WILL get angry at their smug demon half for being a smug lowkey asshole bastard towards their shared friends coughHomucifercough that’s a lot to crossout oops
2. How much or what kind of research do you do for your fiction? If you don’t write, has a fic ever made you curious enough to research something?
Hmmmmmmmm. I, huh. My crappy memory isn’t gonna help in this at all. Okay so fics HAVE made me google stuff on multiple occasions but straight up research? Nnnnno I don’t think so. I don’t have the mental capacity or want to do it. If i ever do “research” (and i say that oh so loosely) anything in the future because of a fic it will go as far as asking google and looking att he first thing i see for like a second bgfdjbgfdj
3. What was the first work of fiction you remember becoming completely engrossed in?
As N Approaches Infinity First work that I remember would be a PowerPuff Girls fanfiction called Misconceptions by Sandstorm3D ( @sandstorm3d is this even the right tumblr shit). Every Saturday there would be an update and it was the best thing ever! obviously sometimes it wasn’t consistent because Life be like that™ and sometimes we even got double chapter updates which was always a treat to get! Another fic that was pretty great (but which i found long after it was complete so i didnt get to be engrossed in) was Taking Responsibility by Somewei another PPG fic ugh so good. ALSO ALSO now that I’M HERE FUCK IT! Another PPG fic that is ALSO SO GOOD! SO GOOD that I’m currenty hella invested in that’s called As Time Goes By by  Carriedreamer (OH WU- OH LOOK LINKS i didnt know it worked like that i just copied their name cause i was too lazy to write it- hold on *goes back and edits the other two*). I’m stopping here or god I am 100% going to link every OTHER story I’ve ever loved
4. What work(s) had a lasting influence on you or your writing style?
Nothing really. I get very very into stuff i like but once its over its kinda over? Nothing has really “changed my life” or just left any lasting impressions or whatever other than me being invested in it a lot while im there. Does that count???
5. What kind of sound environment do you prefer for writing/reading? Silent, white noise, music with/without words, sitting in a public place with the ambient noise of humanity, etc.
Music always! The problem arises then that if I can’t find the proper music for the stuff I’m reading, as in for it to have the same atmosphere as the fic (with words or not doesn’t matter) then I’m going to constantly be stopping myself in the middle of reading just so I can go on youtube and find something fitting bgfhjbgfj such a pain
6. Are you or do you like authors who are teases, in story or out?
They infuriate me! In the best way possible. Cliffhangers? Fucking murder me but god I love it. Honestly I love every kind of author bgjgfbgfjgf I just love bein’ dramatic
7. Have you ever experienced a “the characters write themselves” or “character rebellion” mental state?
As a reader I have no idea what that is or how it works or how it feels but god does it fascinate the fuck outta me
8. Do you have a favorite franchise crossover? Like Bleach/Harry Potter, Madoka Magica/Card Captor Sakura, etc.
No sir! Same as music here, if I like it, I like it bgfhjgf As long as I know one (1) of the franchises I don’t care what the other crossover is as long as the fic is good (good to me at least, everyone is different in that regard after all gbfhjgfd opinions opinions so many opinions so many people) THO I will always lament when there ISN’T a crossover with some franchises (or just plain not enough fics for them cough Madoka/Nanoha cough THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH) I’m guilty of seeing similar characters interacting. Just wanting to see them togethere because thEY ARE SO SIMILAR BUT YET SO DIFFERENT AND DYNAMICS YES HELLO GIVE ME *coughs*
9. Do you remember anything about the first fanfic you ever read?
No I don’t but I bet you if I go on my ff.net account RIGHT NOW! and go back to the story I favored first ever, I can tell you about it. I bet im doing it. Im going. Okay so its a PPG one again (wow I really had a ppg phase i mean I DID i still do kind of? i mean n O SHAME TO ME FICS ARE FICS DAMN IT AND THEY’RE SO GOOD) Okay so I clicked it but it doesn’t ring a bell BUT IT DID REMIND ME OF ANOTHER FIC I REALLY LIKED which honestly might as well be the first one ever fuck it whatever. A PPG one of course bfjgfdnjgkfd called uh, fuck i dont remEMBER THE TITLE! But its just basically ya know when the girls in the movie fly into space? it’s a What If: Only two of them came back AND ITS A DRAGON BALL CROSSOVER KINDA ITS AMAZING AHA I FOUND IT!  Divided Paths by  mg56 .This search made me go back and god they are so good
10. Is there a work of fiction that you are annoyed doesn’t have much if any fic? Like Bizenghast.
More madoka never enough give me post rebellion shit i mean GAH stop complaining im such an ungrateful glutton I would LOVE more School Live!/Gakkou Gurashi fanfics out there. AND AND ALSO! Fucking Kannazuki No Miko PLEASE STAR CROSSED LOVERS THEY ARE ALL IN SPANISH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
11. What fictional character do you strongly identify with?
Man. I don’t really...have that feeling? I mean..I can feel for Homura and Spinel! And Sayaka too, fucking Kyoko too but i don’t have the idk like yeabfjgfjBHSDFBHFSDJ I can understand characters and their motivations I feel? But I don’t get like attached attached ya know?

Of Noble Designs: A Royal Verse Fanfic
@theredpalace @hikaru-mikazuki
Chapter 1: The Shocking Dawn
The continent of Mihen was sprawling with a myriad of nations, kingdoms and a quickly expanding empire. The once small nation of Homura expanded under the reigns of Tajima and his eldest son Madara after internal struggles that lasted several years. In the first years of his reign, Madara moved on from reclaiming his throne to expanding territories with much success, save for the island nation of Uzushio, ruled by his estranged friend’s wife.
At 28, Madara was quite the accomplished ruler. However, not even his military prowess could keep his court from pressuring him to seek out a wife, despite already being father to the fondly nicknamed Spitfire Prince, Musashi. Deeply interested in Yugen’s mystical and fabled fountain, he planned to marry into the Yugenian royal family. However, he and the crown princess quickly realized they were too incompatible. So in an uncharacteristic move, he played matchmaker and arranged for a distant, more lively cousin to be his replacement. Funny enough, it worked.
However, what he did not expect- besides an invitation by the Yamamori royal house to participate in their annual Spring Lantern festival- was to find the perfect bride to make up for it.
Yamamori, despite its name, was more hill country and full of deciduous forests than mountainous. It was still a beautiful country, and Madara only hated that he could not bring Musashi to marvel in it. While the boy didn’t quite enjoy travel, he enjoyed being with his daddy. When entering the court there was very little fanfare, he was greeted by the Second Princess of Yamamori, Duchess of Suzukane, High Priestess Kagura. The official introductions would be much later.
“Hello, princess~” Madara purred as he bowed to the duchess and high priestess of Yamamori. The young emperor looked up with analytical eyes, a cocky yet inviting grin. “I am the emperor of Homura, Uchiha Madara.” There was a pause where she was supposed to fill the silence with her name. Fortunately, though they were outside, they were not in the public eye.
She was contemplating his name, as if they met somewhere before. Likely at his old childhood friend’s wedding, where she was a guest and a friend of the bride. Perhaps as children, trying to survive in a world where they were expected to stay out of adults’ way, but some were also expected to fight like them and against them at far too tender ages. Perhaps as adversaries meant to become eventual lovers. Regardless if it was any of the scenarios he had conjured up and more, the duchess’s silence was starting to verge onto too quiet.
“You have an odd name. That is the name of the man who strikes fear into the hearts of generals and warlords all over the continent? A man named Spot?” . . . What? That had been the reason for her silence? The meaning behind his name? He could feel himself get more and more incensed as her eyebrows furrowed, genuine confusion then a playful demeanor in her expression. “How much did your father hate you, exactly?”
“A lot, but my name had nothing to do with it!” Kagura smiled and shook her head, not taking this as seriously as she probably ought to.
“I see. My name is Kamiya Kagura. It is nice to meet you.” It was Madara’s turn to be silent for almost two minutes, mostly out of a need to be petty. “So your parents named you “divine entertainment”? You were named after a dance?” He could feel the corner of his lips twitch in an amused smirk. “Could your father not come up with a more sophisticated name?” The duchess gave him a matter-of-fact expression, head tilted to the side as she gave him a once-over.
“My mother named me. And I do believe it to be much more sophisticated than one designated for pets.” Madara chuckled, and usually that was a warning that doom was afoot. However, not in this case. With a somewhat mock glare, he responded with a once-over of his own.
“Of course you would, Your Highness. I am weary from my travels, so I must cut this conversation short.” The festival that night was well underway when Madara saw the princess again, yet he was surprised to see her unhappy. A lord from a southern province west of Shiori was accosting her, though she pulled away from his grasp.
“You think I am some ditzy little girl who cannot spot ill intent?”
“Your Highness, I simply-”
“You are a spineless coward who doesn’t seem to have grown out of his boyhood days. Get out of my face.” Splash! The lord in question was drenched when he tried to grab her again as she stormed off. Surprisingly, no one seemed too shocked to see this happen.
“That’s the third guy this year,” one man chuckled, shaking his head. Madara followed shortly after, seeing her walk towards the bridge.
“You know something? Your name is quite sophisticated. You have proven to be quite entertaining to me.” He walked towards her with all the swagger of a predator stalking its next meal. “A woman such as yourself must be quite the prize, with all these men still competing for your hand. And yet you spurn them all. Does your heart yearn for a lost lover?”
“No. I spurn them because it’s just a game to them, nothing more. I have made it clear time and again how unattractive weak men are to me. Perhaps they are doing it to see if I will eventually wear down.” Kagura leaned over the side of the bridge, gazing out into the night sky. “My heart is not a plaything.”
“That is an utter waste of everyone’s time and energy. I agree with you. Weak people are ugly,” Madara murmured, copying her actions. “You live rather modestly for one destined to a comfortable life here. Have you thought of doing more with it? Outside of your duties as the High Priestess, that is.” The paper lanterns below illuminated the river, showing glimpses of fish looking for a late meal and the reflections of the two royals just above the river. Madara watched as a camellia shaped lantern floated between their reflections. This kingdom was so peaceful, its royal family welcoming and sincere. This peace would be uncomfortable for him. He was forged in iron and hardship.
“Mmm, not really. I am happy being as I am. I might not act like a princess all the time, but I can’t imagine myself as anything else.” They sat in silence a little longer as Madara studied the woman before him. She was strange. She spoke in a rather simplistic fashion in more intimate settings and was rather direct about her desires, likes and dislikes.
“Then why not become the bride of one of the most powerful men in the world? You will want for nothing, have however many or few attendants you desire. You will not have to concern yourself with another weak boy pretending to vie for your affections. You will be well respected and envied by women. You deserve a man who will at least respect you as his partner.”
Kagura chuckled humorlessly. “That is... not exactly why I desire strong men, nor is status the motive. Nevertheless... That is merely a fantasy. Not out of the realm of possibility, but still a fantasy, nonetheless.”
“I could make that fantasy reality, if you would let me.”
Kagura, content to watch the paper lanterns float, snapped her head up so quickly her royal kanzashi loosened. Surely, she heard him wrong or he was just joking. They had only known each other less than a day! “I’m sorry, what?” He looks on, serious, as if he were discussing weapons’ schematics. This can’t be happening. He isn’t really suggesting…-
“You think I joke about things like this?” The air was slowly starting to chill, and Kagura could see her breath coming out in puffs of hot air. “Marriage is a serious commitment, Your Highness-- one I do not take lightly. I am not one to be so fickle as to plan to divorce, remarry or behead any wife who does not produce a son. I may not be as devout as you, but I do my best to respect the wishes of the divine.” The priestess was speechless. She had never been proposed to so casually yet so intimately. Not only that, there was almost some kinship in their views, even if his are a bit more draconian in nature. “That is, if you are willing to have me as your husband.” She nearly jumped at the sound of his voice. “Well?” Kagura jumped up, walking away.
“Well, just give me a moment! I’m going back inside.”
“Oh, princess? Castle’s the other way.” Kagura turned the other way quickly, walking off as fast as possible. After she walked inside, Madara felt the weight of his actions creep on him like the night’s chill. Just what was he getting them into?

The Hollow Girls
Immature poets imitate.

I. It Is Sown In Corruption; It Is Raised In Incorruption
April is the kindest month,
Which stuns us into hesitance.
We thought it all would end in tears.
Instead, there's naked lesbians.
We'd braced ourselves for anything.
We weren't expecting this.
We asked him, Gen, are you okay?
There's no apocalypse?
You gave us light amid the darkness,
Unlike Evangelion.
We all can sleep in peace at last!
(And then he made Rebellion.)
Where lies Mitakihara City?
You cannot say or guess.
Dubai, Cologne, and Singapore
Are parts of its address.
It's very pretty, to be sure,
But getting round's a mess.
I signed my contract a year ago.
It rescued me from death.
But now I know there's bleaker things
Than lack of blood or breath.
The world is so much darker now.
I'm trying to adjust.
There's monsters, monsters everywhere
And precious few of us.
And even we are hollow girls,
With hollow hopes and dreams,
Our bodies full of fantasies
Escaping through the seams.
I must be brave and fight this war,
This war that never ends.
Perhaps I could endure it
If I only had some friends.
I want some cheese. That's all I want.
Perhaps some cake, as well.
But all the cheese has gone away,
So tell me, is this hell?
Head cheese isn't cheese at all,
It's meat – and icky, too.
But now I've gotten hungry, so
I guess it has to do.
You foolish, haughty hypocrite.
I'm getting sick of you.
The Empress was a tragic Fool.
The Hermit has the Strength.
The Devil lurks in alleyways,
But Judgement comes at length.
The World's so very small and frail.
The Moon is cold and hard.
But Lovers know that Death means change –
There's Justice in the cards.
II. It Is Sown In Dishonour; It Is Raised In Glory
Kyouko's father speaks in vain,
For few arrived and none remain.
HURRY UP PLEASE MAKE A WISH
Kyouko's father keeps them glued.
The coffers fill. There's loads of food.
HURRY UP PLEASE MAKE A WISH
Kyouko's father learns the truth.
There's blood in the confession booth.
HURRY UP PLEASE MAKE A WISH
Sayaka's boyfriend stays in bed.
He's still alive. His dreams are dead.
HURRY UP PLEASE MAKE A WISH
Sayaka's boyfriend isn't, really.
He doesn't love her. Ain't that silly?
HURRY UP PLEASE MAKE A WISH
Sayaka says to hell with this.
Kyouko joins her with a kiss.
HURRY UP PLEASE MAKE A WISH
Madoka's still thinking, though.
She's very nice but kind of slow.
HURRY UP PLEASE go to hell
I used to love those fairy tales.
I thought I'd change the world.
They'd look at me with gratitude
And call me a magical girl.
But nothing ever goes to plan,
And wishes don't come true.
I'm nothing but an idiot
Who never had a clue.
I thought I'd lost my empathy
While trapped inside this shell,
But you who trembles on the brink
I understand so well.
My life was full of misery,
And so was yours, it seems,
But as we lay us down to sleep
Let's pray for peaceful dreams.
I couldn't save you while you lived,
So all that I can do
Is let you know you're not alone.
I'm going down with you.
III. It Is Sown In Weakness; It Is Raised In Power
I draw my long black hair out tight
While watching over her.
Alone, except for memories
Of days that never were.
It's midnight in Mitakihara.
A time for introspection.
If clocks are right, then time's a loop –
And loops have no direction.
Time present and time past
Are both within my future.
And I will never stop until
I stop that sick abuser.
Determination's all I have,
So long as I am fated
To be the foremost victim
Of this hell that I've created.
You think me selfish, reckless, mad.
I'll not deny you're right.
But maybe only lunatics
Survive Walpurgis Night.
I, Homura, hard of sight,
Have seen my deepest fears.
I, Homura, weak of heart,
Have walked this path for years.
The end is where I started from.
For me, it never ends.
We've ended up as strangers
But we started out as friends.
I've sung this song a hundred times.
It echoes in your dreams,
But end at the beginning
And you'll realize what it means.
IV. It Is Sown A Natural Body; It Is Raised A Spiritual Body
I never was that good for much.
The best that could be said
Is that I wasn't mean or cruel
And kept a level head.
But now my friends are dying
At a disconcerting rate,
And maybe I'm the only one
With the chance to change their fate.
I know this plan's audacious,
And I sure don't want to die,
But I couldn't live with knowing
That I never even tried.
You ask me if dare disturb
This fragile universe.
I'd say it's stronger far than me,
And it disturbed me first.
I've learned I had the greatest friend
That anyone has lost.
I've learned that sometimes miracles
Are worth the price they cost.
So open up a crack in hell,
Through which the light can bleed.
For heaven's just a word for hope,
And hope is all we need.
. . .
Who is the third who talks to you?
There's only you and I.
But I have heard you whispering
To a dark and empty sky,
And I have seen you listening
When nothing could be heard.
You've always been the crazy sort,
But this is quite absurd.
The waves of wraiths will never end;
There's no defeating grief.
You've soldiered on for many years,
But lives like yours are brief.
So why is it you're smiling now,
When doom appears at hand?
I swear, you humans baffle me.
I'll never understand.
