i dont tend 2 read fanfics n when i do its mostly on the subway to n from different things so i mostly only read one-shots (i hope ur not looking for anything multi-chapter lol). but yea its hard to find good gerita but when u do it is SO GOOD. here r my favs: - We Do Not Speak of Berlusconi at the Table by puella_nerdii Summary by author: "Italy invites Germany and Prussia over for Sunday lunch. Romano disapproves, Prussia displays questionable taste in paintings, and Germany will not let go of the mandelbrot." This is one of my fav fics, if not MY FAV. How to describe it except brilliant, amazing, talented, showstopping. The characterisation is amazing, Veneziano, as the good host he is, desperately wants everything to be perfect for Germany and Prussia, Romano doesn't share the sentiment. Germany wants the dinner to be perfect for Veneziano's sake, Prussia doesn't share the sentiment. Prussia and Romano play off each other so perfectly and everything is just exactly how i envision them, love it sm. - Salvatore by MudaMuda Summary by author: "Being stranded on an island gives Veneziano an excuse to do nothing but lay around naked and tan. And to tease Germany." The fic that made me n Arcade lose it. Exactly what it says in the summary. - Taste of an Apple in a Dream by Unknown. Summary: "I’m a sickly child with a sack too full of dreams, I know that. A stubborn brat living a bitter life." This one is more HRE-centric with a bit of HRE/Italy from first pov which Im usually not a fan of but this one is amazing (as you've noticed I'm horrible at putting my feelings into thoughts). also what i like about this hre fic is that it doesn't establish hre as becoming germany, bc i personally don't think germany n hre r the same person. anyway next. - Dating Advice for Germans and Americans by ElapsingSpiral. Summary by author: “Ludwig and Alfred have one thing in common: questionable taste in the people they turn to for expert dating advice.” Ok so one multi-chaptered one lmao. It contains UsUK which I don't like but Im willing to put up with it for the good n perfect GerIta dynamic, also i love Germany n England's friendship <3<3 i think they have the potential 2 b best buds. (there is some talk of the iron cross tho x_X but UGH with the lack of good gerita content u have to take what u can get, its nothing big tho super minor). anyway i just love germany experiencing problems in his relationships n turning to england instead of just talking to vene lmaooo also gerita arguing over interior design is so real. this fic is so good n hilarious. my fav part: “”Did you pick a method?" Arthur frowned in thought then gave a nod of understanding, "Oh, of how I want to die? No. I'd prefer not to, actually, if that's alright. You see, I-" Mid-sentence, the German made a lunge for him and Arthur opted to jog backward down the hall, quickly turning about as he made the living room and darting around the back of his sofa. my version of him is basically; if og comic kildare was rebooted and appeared in the ducktales 2017 reboot:

this image comes from the ducktales comic countdown to termination (2018). this background character isn't offically confirmed to be Kildare but after seeing this character listed as Kildare on a wiki i completely ran with it & as others have said, the resemblance seems more than intentional (eyes, beak shape, hair, the way he's drawn, even the clothing choice makes complete sense to me personally).

i've thought about him so much that tbh its hard to like dump everything about him because its just so much lool but here r some main points i think

• Kildare is the son of Cuthbert Coot.

•During his childhood he mainly spent time with his cousin Fethry. they were really close and played all the time despite them living quite far away from each other

•in his original source he is never given any specific diagnosis despite mental illness being a central part of his initial characterisation. i interpreted this as like.......not every random needs to know yknow. it's kinda private. He has an illness that involves experiencing psychosis and irregular moods but you don't really need to know unless you're Fethry or Donald or Della or Gladstone or Gideon or one of his close people yknow? I hav my specific headcanons and u hav urs <3

•he practices natural horsemanship, loves the family ranch's horses and horses in general. He thinks they are so cute and wonderful. He hates seeing them & animals in general get mistreated. it upsets him so much. he truly has a real friendship with the horses. His favourite and most trusted horse is called Sweetheart.

•he loves making music!! music is so important to him. Him, Donald and Fethry were in a band called "Ducking Work" when they were like 18-20. he has always enjoyed writing and composing music, finding it a great outlet! he loves rock and country. he's a good drummer.

•he is Fethry's best friend and i cannot stress this enough

•never lost his southern accent

•super extroverted and loves to make friends, meet new people and explore new places.

•he is also rlly close with Della and the grief he felt after she disappeared & was presumed dead definitely contributed 2 one certain hospitalisation.

•he has always helped out as a ranch hand as expected and even when he's an adult he still helps his dad out with the ranch despite not living there anymore

•Gideon is Kildare's favourite uncle!

•He often stays with his grandma Elvira and cousin Gus and helps out there as well....even though they tell him he doesn't have to. But he literally finds it so fun. Who are they to stop him feeding every cow and learning their personalities and hauling bails of hay on his back every day.

•he is very compassionate and empathetic and is always there for his family and friends. he has been through a lot in his life and it's made him super good at comforting others and understanding people and is always ready to sprint to try & cheer his family + loved ones up. they love and appreciate Kildare so much.

•Gideon McDuck had partial "guardianship" over him. Kildare also works at Gideon's newspaper The Cricket as a reporter!

• ↑ Cuthbert wasn't able to cope with looking after Kildare alone

•a lot of the original comic content involves his family just endlessly getting annoyed with him & that's one thing i love to reverse with my version of him. Donald especially i feel would be way more understanding of Kildare and not treat him anywhere near how he's written treating him in the original comics. Donald in Dt'17 literally starts going to therapy himself. like. Kildare would probably wear Donald down a lot at times bc of his energetic nature/mania sure but he would never be ableist to him on that level ever like being ashamed to be related to him & badmouthing him to the triplets. trust me i know him personally

•he also loves cooking. and baking. he learned from the best (Elvira Coot).

rant about the walking dead

omg well if you INSIST 🥴🥴🥴

ok. so first of all. i DO like the walking dead ok. i do. HOWEVER; i have a lot of problems with the tv show. i know it's only loosely based on the comics, but after READING the comics and having watched the show (or most of it anyways i got kind of sick of its shit after season 8 and skimmed thru the rest, i dont plan on watching new content) it's hard to NOT compare the show to the comics.

(spoilers for comics and show under read more)

however, there are a few things i PREFER about the show over the comics. and i do mean a few. for instance; judith lives! and i do think that's an interesting plot point. (in the comics, she dies alongside lori during an attack on the prison by the governor.) also, daryl is totally absent in the comics and i rlly love him so yk. also, michonne and rick don't get together in the comics, and i am a BITCH for that pairing. there's a few more plot points and characters/characterizations in the show that aren't in the comics and shit like that that i like but i'm not get into the rest bc it's minor shit.

at the end of the day; i think the show isn't a very good adaptation of the comics and has bad writing at the worst of times. it has its strong points, but i've noticed that most of those strong points are taken directly from the comics rather than being original to the show.

i think rick's psychosis is better portrayed. i think CARL is so so so much better written in a million different ways, including not fucking dying???? there's better dialogue. there's more lore elaboration on the ways the zombies work (for instance, they freeze up during winter). most of the villains seem a lot more threatening (altho i will say; they did a rlly good job w negan on the show imo) and so do the main characters. like idk i just rlly wish the show was BETTER bc i love this story sm. it's a GOOD story !!! if you like the show i am literally begging you to read the comics, i'll put a site you can find em for free in the rbs. yknow. so you dont accidentally pirate them. bc that would be illegal.

oh yeah btw if i could change one thing abt the show i would make daryl a gay man with a gay boyfriend who he kisses gayly. im not even joking im a strong advocate for gay daryl

a pair of magpies were going to build a nest in this smol conifer right up against a window in our house and like ?? yo you could see the beginnings of the twigs getting threaded through there and I was like :000 !!! hype ?? wow they chose this place to be home and I was so ready 2 take pictures of ugly baby dinos I mean cute baby magpies since it’s like I could sit on the arm chair that’s up against the window and I could have full vantage of the lil nest ??? as I was saying, hype !! bUT THEN MY MOM TOOK OUT A FRUIT KNIFE THE ONE WE CUT WATERMELONS WITH AND SAWED OFF THE WHOLE BRANCH AND THREW IT TWIGS AND ALL INTO THE TRASH AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHG -sobs softly- im just sorry for the poor magpie pair,,, I’m sorry we wasted all your hard work,,, ( mom’s explanation: this is my house so I’m not going to let them build a home on my home I was here first !! ) tho like I don’t think the magpies moved out tbh I saw the other day they were perched on our tree so ???? I’m just sad I missed out on the great pictures sob it was like a fairy tale ( I tried to talk my mom out of it by saying about how a pair of magpies were considered auspicious n all and I’m disappointed it didn’t work ?? I made a pretty good argument I feel ;v )

right so like last week we had a few slices of raisin bread from T&T ( our local Asian food supplier in the form of a supermarket eyyy ) and I was like,,, wow ??? dude how great would raisin bread french toast be like wOW !!? I’ve never made french toast before and tbh we’re like rice everyday ™ and honestly the inside of our fridge has never seen cheese or cream or pasta ( ok look I know uncooked pasta doesn’t go in the fridge but I was making a point ) and certain other western-type foods are rare guests ( a tragedy rly because I love that stuff ) bUT ANYWAY !! I was thinking about french toast and going,,, woah,,, woah woAH ??? we might actually have all the ingredients ?? we always have eggs, and… oh, half and half…? aw… we don’t have that— oH but you can make it with milk and butter ??? gasp i actually think we have like 1 stick of frozen butter from waaaay back and I’m sure it’s saved there omg this’ll work. we don’t have nutmeg but… I distinctly remember getting vanilla extract and my mom says we have cinnamon ?? I didn’t even know we had cinnamon !! wow this is going to work imma make it for breakfast tomorrow it will be great !! so cue tomorrow, I wake up earlier to get it ready ( lmao since usually I wake up like 5 mins before transit comes and toss stuff into my backpack and leave ) and,,, and it turns out we I overestimated what we had in our fridge aHAHA,,, what I thought was a stick of butter was actually yeast and there was ?? no sugar ?? I could not find sugar,,, we didn’t have milk either and I was v disappointed in myself bUT !! I still made it using soy milk and brown sugar ( it was super hard I was chiseling it with a spoon ) but luckily I did manage to dig out the vanilla extract + the cinnamon was def there, as were the eggs and salt was around. of course, had to use vegetable oil instead of butter to grease the pan as I’d planned but !! it totally turns out great and was a p good success considering a first attempt hahaha,,, topped it with bananas, crumbled walnut and maple syrup and it was great :^))))))

ummmmmmmmmmmm wow those turned out long hAHAHA,, uh no other interesting stories are coming to mind right away but like ?? I guess one time when I was a kid we were in Toronto I think and I,,, rushed some pigeons ( like when u try to make people flinch right ?? yeah ) some pigeons that were in a courtyard and like,,, ok so there was a lady eating subway and she was a respectable business lady or smth bUT SO THE FLOCK OF PIGEONS ALL TOOK OFF AND SHE ( understandably ) SPOOKED AND DROPPED HER SUBWAY AND WALKED QUICKLY AWAY AND WOW I FELT SO BAD AAHHAAHAAAaaa,,, either way the pigeons descended on the subway and it was never seen again,,, I still feel rlllyyy bad abt it I’m so sorry for like ruining that woman’s day sobbbbb
