SBG and battletech bull shit part 2

Now we're gonna talk about my second favorite creature Aiden "Mr durable" clark

Now Aiden isa difficult choice for me, and depending on how I'm feeling, I may even get a follow-up post on the other machines I almost chose for him. Aiden, in my opinion, isn't particularly fast, strong, or smart. Aiden is three things: brave (or stupid). deadly and spectacularly violent, and all of those fit the HBK-4G, otherwise known as the hunchback pictured below. It's a simple 50-ton machine; a friend once described it 's the closest "thing to"a walking fuck you that you can mass produce. You see that big box on its right shoulder thats housing a Tomodzuru class 20 autocanon, a short-range gun capable of tearing the limbs off most mechs with a single shot, and if it doesn't do that, it might just knock you on your big ig ass. Aiden might be a complex character, but to me, it always seems he likes to kill phantoms with one or two devastating blows and move onto the next target. I believe Aiden would choose the pilot as a hunchback because hunchback pilots are a special breed. They are the kind to run head first at a wall and expect the wall to flinch. They are the kind to see overwhelming odds and smile because you are already here and running away sounds exhausting, and hunchback pilots are the kind to kill anything that gets close to them and theirs and walk over the corpse to the next thing that needs blasting. 

Notes:the hunchback is also armed with two medium lasers one in each arm but I honestly didn't think it was relevant to the character analysis another mech I highly considered was the charger and lastly I know this breakdown was less technical but I have less personal experience with the hunchback as well as mostly going on vibes with this one

Throwing up a little hobby/life update. Finally got through all my BS scheduling garbage at work. I now have enough energy to actually do things.

My printer is up and running again so I decided to try out some water washable resin and it's been phenomenal. I had 1 print failure due to me not leveling the build plate well enough through the entire Kg of resin. Everything came out perfectly after that one hangup. It's great being able to print unavailable variants and terrain again. (Mandatory reminder to support your LGS even if you print)

I also got a decent amount of progress on my Battletech minis as well. Currently working on a Magistracy of Canopus versus Free Worlds League thing to help my friends get into the game. Grabbed some FWL and MoC water transfers to add that little extra level of detail. I made sure that I had a Griffin and Wolverine in mind as well for quick tutorials. The Magistracy Wolverine isn't part of the lance, but making sure there was some theming for the 1v1 intro felt like it might help some players. Yes, I know I got the Rifleman's scheme backwards. Knowing the Purple Parakeets it's completely on brand so I'm not fixing it.

Lastly, I think I finally found an LGS to call home again. The only thing that sucks is that it's just over an hour away. Worth the drive though. They have this in their bathroom on the wall.

Inktober day 19: Plump

Yeah, I'm several days behind. Hoping to catch up this week. But I was on a hunting trip over the weekend and didn't have the time or energy to get caught up then.

I singled out this background character from HoND and named him Xavier. He's Clopin's second-in-command, and the highest ranking member of the Court of Miracles' kris (council). He's a few years older than Clopin and is his most trusted advisor and friend. He eventually succeeds Clopin as Rom baro ("big man"; chief).

In canon, he's the Rom who helps Esmeralda bring a wounded Phoebus to Notre Dame. He later helps capture Phoebus and Quasi when they enter the Court of Miracles, accusing them of trespassing. I believe he stopped Esmeralda from bringing Phoebus straight to the Court, as even though Phoebus was no longer captain of the guard, he was still not someone Xavier felt could be trusted with the knowledge of the Court's location. As Clopin's second, it's as much Xavier's job to protect the Court as it is Clopin's.

Xavier is normally a very friendly guy. He's fond of kids and has a bit of a sweet tooth. He always has a funny story for every situation. He helps keep Clopin grounded and acts as the voice of reason when Clopin's temper gets the better of him. He's a jungle gym for several of the children in the Court. He has his own family, and his children are mostly grown by the events of HoND. He has a few grandkids by the time of the sequel (which I rewrote and in which he now features prominently). When Esmeralda was young, Xavier was one of a handful of people she felt safe venting her frustrations to. He was always a good listener and had some good advice and nuggets of wisdom for her. When she's in trouble, Xavier is one of the people she feels safest falling back on. Which is why she went to him for help bringing Phoebus to a safe location.

I've made his hair a bit curlier than in canon. Romani hair types tend to have more curl than average. More Roma have hair like Esmeralda's than like Clopin's.

DO NOT REPOST WITHOUT PERMISSION An excerpt from an RP that my friend and I did, and I thought that this would fit best: Claude Frollo knew he must be blushing as red as Quasimodo's hair, much to the hunchback's amusement at seeing his normally stern, reserved master so out of his element. The way she used his last name so easily coupled by how she held his hand, it was making those butterflies beat hard within his cold heart.
