A boy…. then a girl... I think.
So I stan an overprotective father here for his daughter, in the very least.
That’s not because his son is ‘too weak’- It’s the fact that culturally and in that time period, he’s supposed to be the stronger one.
Kenshin teaches him the art of sword-fighting from the age of 5, but soon realises that he’s much more into Senbon and, well… Flowery stuff. It’s good, in a way, since his son has quite the feminine face shape and your eyes. It’s a very good thing, actually. He’d make a successful ninja-
So that’s what he becomes, xD
Together with Sasuke, Kenshin trains him in the art of ninja skills. It’s significantly more interesting to him, maybe because you’ve told him random stories you’ve read from your time.
There’s fluff time too- You pretty much bring all the warlords together and teach them how to sew. Yuki too, because Shingen and you have told him it’s the exact same thing as sewing a wound and practice is good.
Kenshin’s baby girl is a complete treat to the whole family.
You know she’s bound to be spoiled in the same way as you- With probably twice as much gifts as he gives you, and his special fatherly-love.
“I hope you remember she’s a baby, Kenshin… No stop- A dagger isn’t suitable for a baby-”
So it’s a lot of cooing, playing with toys given to her by both Shingen and Kenshin and cuddles…
YES CUDDLES ARE EVERYTHING-
Ironically or not, the boy also becomes protective of his mother and his younger sister, no matter how young he is. He’s spent quite a bit of time with Kenshin, after all.
Ngl, but I think when the girl is older, she’s not gonna like the over-protectiveness. So expect a lot of ninja work by her brother, joined by Sasuke bc Kenshin doesn’t trust everyone to be safe xD

So Nobunaga and his son are the most endearingly domineering… pair?
I mean your son’s personality stems directly from Nobunaga, despite having your looks and that does make you wonder why, since you spend the most time with him.
Nobunaga’s probably the busiest man on Earth. So when he does find time to spend with his son, they’re the most mischievous pair. You’re not even surprised when Masamune joins in one day, with Mitsuhide just chucking away at the sight.
Hideyoshi doesn’t even try when they get to this messy point, and to be fair neither do you. If you stopped them, they’d casually rope you into the mess.
You’ve long learnt to leave them be when they’re like this.
You pretty much take over the castle when they’re playing- Can’t have the castle’s structure falling apart because of a handful of idiots, right?
Hideyoshi still hasn’t learnt his lesson, it seems-
The two of them are always thieving konpeito from the kitchens and screwing around the castle in the most ridiculous ways.
You swore they had somehow once gotten hold of some black paint (or was that charcoal?), only to end up fully covered in the colour…
You only found out after nearly giving Nobunaga a back massage- His back was COVERED in the pigment. Obviously, your son had dropped a handful and some down his clothes and back.
Honestly? You just sighed at their antics and dragged him by the ear to the bathhouse. And you can’t even say anything when he drags you in, fully clothed.
When Nobunaga does spend time with his son, the adrenaline and joy just lasts until the following morning when he’s slept it off. It’s very different from the type of adrenaline from war- Less stress and fear, and more joy and… out of control actions.
So expect an extremely hyper Nobunaga when you both retire to your bedroom…
Mitsuhide:
A girl. I don’t budge. … Okay, maybe a baby boy in the future, but for now? Just a baby girl.
So Mitsuhide’s one of those ‘I-never-expected-to-be-this-happy’ or ‘I-never-expected-to-one-day-have-a-family-of-my-own’ warlords.
So when you announce you were having a baby, he just… freezes. Like one of those signature ‘holy-crap-what’ freezes.
He’s so silent you swore you broke him. But when you reach out to press a hand against his cheek, he turns, presses a deep, loving kiss to your palm. He’s exceptionally gentle with you now as he draws you to his chest, thanking you for every miracle you’ve given him.
So I also headcannon that Mitsuhide’s the epitome of practicality y’all… Like he’s so busy he doesn’t have time for anything he deems ‘useless’... or will he buy things that will never be used.
So expect some gender-neutral toys and tiny clothes for your young one, even before she’s born.
Did I mention he’s also quite protective of you? That doubles or triples when he finds out you’re pregnant. And again, when he finds out it’s a girl after birth.
Literally. It has to be either him or Kyubei with you and the ‘little one’. AT ALL TIMES.
Mitsuhide’s the only one he’ll allow to care for the your- and his- daughter when you’re busy with something. On occasion, it’s Kyubei, but it does mean that he and his daughter must be in the same room.
More than often, this ends up with Mitsuhide being W E A K for his daughter’s laugh and dropping his work- That can always be finished later, after all.
Dress up. Make up. Toys. Games. Anything. Mitsuhide would literally kill for some time with his daughter.
When she was younger, Mitsuhide used to cradle her against his chest, whispering sweet stories or singing to her as she giggled from the vibration of his low voice.
Now that she’s older, he spends his time with her carefully. Teaching her with gentle teasing- Something she’s become accustomed to
NGL, but Kyubei ends up being her ‘older brother’ figure when she grows up.
The look on Mitsuhide’s face when she says she wants to marry Kyubei is gold.
Just don’t let Masamune hear okay?

Here and a few other places my author name is Tenshibeth1, which was a username I'd created back in high school some...gosh, ten years ago now? Time flies! But, it was created in part by my group of friends then. I was in the goth group, but they always said I was the nicest and most innocent of the group, like an angel. My nickname in reality is Beth, short from Elizabeth, and I've always been big into Japan, anime, and manga and all, so Tenshi seemed a fitting choice to add onto my name. Tenshi means angel. The one stands for the fact that it was my first author username. Now, Reflection of a Broken Dream (RoaBD) came later in life, when I felt everything I am and was, was broken. It came after my divorce from an abusive and terrible man...he had me believing I was nothing. I could do nothing right, I was a pest to everyone, and my dreams? Get real. I could never make them come true. Writing has always been a balm for me...and even though I believed few would read or like my stuff, I did eventually begin posting stuff again. To my shock, people liked what I wrote...they wrote me such kind words and pleas for continuation. Everyone who liked and commented on the stories gave me hope again, and confidence in myself. So thank you to everyone who read and commented! I'm where I am now because of you all. ,^.^,

Ahh...most of them hold a special place in my heart...but there are a few that are a little more...sentimental than others. Cursed, for example, would be one of the top ones. I began writing it when I was living with my ex-husband. It is one of the few reasons I stayed sane...and the original version of that fic was warped...just like my mind at the time. If anyone's curious, I'll tell that story later...but know that it will end well. Rising From the Ashes is going to be a good story if I can ever finish it. It's a bubbling of hope from the darkest recesses of depression...something I suffer and struggle with everyday and have to rise from. Very Merry Christmas With You is going to be a healing fic, Sesshoumaru helping Kagome heal from a trauma that happened to her as a child. They have the relationship I desire most. Same with Alpha, but it's a more recent trauma that reminds me much of my past marriage. The Unexpected, a ShinoHina, was a much earlier echo of this, with an abusive relationship in the making with her arranged betrothed in the Snow. And I just have a special place for Overprotective and All That is Meant To Be because...I do. They were works when I wasn't as confident as I am now, and I really loved and worked on the stories vigilantly outside of what I posted. I kept writing and re-writing to see which directions I wanted to go with them...I need to re-write them both with more detail and post them...
Story You Were Most Nervous to Post:
That's a tie between Arranged Marriage, a ShinoHina, and Cursed, a SessKag. Arranged Marriage was the first real fic I worked on that I posted after several years and the abuse I went through. The anxiety I suffered to post it was...unbelievable. I thought I might pass out. I expected people to boo me out of there since it isn't a very liked ship...but, happily, I found that wasn't the case. And Cursed... I was revamping it to be made public after realizing how messed up it was, and how messed up in the head I'd been... So, I was understandably nervous and trying to make it better. Real. Believable. And not the dark hole it once was...
How Do You Pick Titles:
Erm...I'm with Chiera, I pick whatever feels best. Mostly, I try to pick something short and sweet...and easy to remember.
Do You Outline:
Define outline. Haha. I do try to kind of figure out which events I want in the story and roughly figure out the ending...but I don't always do that. On the ones I have more of a feel of, I do. Ones I don't? I pretty much fly by the seat of my pants and go on the journey with my readers. Some, I still have no idea how they're going to end. We'll find out when we get there. XD

And I'm working on a fic called The Child, an eventual KuraKag with a rough start. ...I'm also working on another KuraKag in little bits, it's currently unnamed and will revolve around Genkai's secret love child she didn't even tell Toguro about... Yes, I know I'm working on a lot at once. Because of my medicine change I have days where I struggle to focus on any one thing...so I write a little here and there. And some days I don't get to because work kills me sometimes and I have do things after work for work other days. -shrugs-

It's a tie between The Dark Guardian and Romancing! I'm excited to explore the role of Sesshoumaru as something loosely like Hades with Kagome as his Persephone...just in a very different way. (If you follow the telling of the story in which he does not rape her. The one I found, she could read the inscriptions and said it did not explicitly say he raped her, just whisked her to Hell.) But that isn't exactly the way the story is going, just that Kagome is his light in the all-consuming darkness. Romancing...is going to be sweet and funny, with a bit of drama added in. And frustration. Why does she not understand?! XD Poor Sesshy... If I could get my act together, I would work on The Youkai Games...something I've been working on, off and on, for the past ten years or so...

Ahahah, here I am once again over a month later with an update to the story (Thanks for anyone who remembers because I don’t know if this story is something that can be remembered XD). I really wanted to update this earlier but school decided to not hold back at all till now-ish. My goal is to finish this before 2019 ends but I honestly don’t know how it’s gonna go-

It’s not so bad talking to the ghos – Dan. Surprisingly, Dan apologized for freaking him out earlier. He normally tries to scare whoever rings the doorbell to the house. The fact that the only way to get in in the first place is to ring the bell implies that scaring people is a necessary action to take for the ghost.
Despite only being able to ask mostly yes or no questions, or questions that didn’t involve answers using the last six letters of the alphabet, Hosuh finds that Dan isn’t a scary ghost within the fifteen minutes they started conversing. He’s actually pretty nice and energetic even though he can’t talk out loud. He tried to at first but all Hosuh heard was unsettling cracks and wheezes coming from the empty space in front of him. It wasn’t a pleasant experience to say the least.
Hosuh is sitting on a flat cushion on the ground at the coffee table as he watches the die levitate and drop four times in a row to create the sequence of numbers: 14, 1, 13 5. He looks at his phone which is currently opened on a note taking app. On the note, it has the first twenty letters of the alphabet typed out in order along with a corresponding number beside it.
“Name?” Hosuh says after deciphering the message. He ponders over it for a few seconds before it suddenly occurs to him that he never introduced himself. “Oh right, I didn’t give you my name yet! I’m Hosuh. It’s nice to meet you, Dan.” Hosuh says cheerfully with an easy-going smile. He feels quite comfortable being inside the not-so-abandoned house as he watches the die land on a 20.
Now that he’s more settled and not feeling as jumpy, Hosuh takes a closer look around the room he’s in. It’s practically barren aside from the coffee table and an oval shaped full body antique mirror that looks to be taller than him. He sees his reflection in the mirror looking back at him and bites back an awkward smile.
To think he would be sitting in a not-so-abandoned house on Halloween night talking to a ghost through a single die is not something he would have ever considered doing before. He wouldn’t think it was a possibility to begin with. For the most part, ghosts don’t really bother with the ones that are still alive unless it’s out of spite.
As Hosuh turns to look back at the table, he fails to see that his reflection doesn’t copy his movements entirely. As soon as his attention was fully away from the mirror, his reflection turns its head back and watches the ongoing conversation with narrowed eyes filled with suspicion.
Despite the holes in the floor here and there, and that the only modern looking thing is the coffee table and what’s on top of it, Hosuh finds the place surprisingly clean. In fact, he doesn’t notice a single surface that’s dusty. Maybe Dan cleans the house periodically?
“Dan, do you clean the house often? It’s really clean.” Hosuh asks. The die is cast and lands on a 20. “Huh. I didn’t know ghosts care about how clean the place is…no offense.” He says sheepishly. The silver haired man watches the die roll a one. He thinks to himself silently for a few seconds, trying to come up with questions to ask Dan. It’s really not often for a ghost to be this conversational so he might as well ask what he can while also respecting the fact that some questions are better off being left unasked.
“Are you the only ghost living here?” He asks, completely unaware that his reflection is giving him a hard stare at the question asked.
Hosuh watches the die levitate in the air for a few seconds longer than normal. It’s almost as if Dan is considering how to answer the question. Just before the die is cast, Hosuh gets an urge to look backwards. He turns his head back and finds his gaze back onto the mirror with his reflection looking right back at him wearing the same expression of mild unease. He blinks and furrows his brows. His reflection does the same.
The clattering of the die brings his attention back to the table. He turns slower this time, eyes not leaving the mirror till the last second. His reflection follows his movements completely in sync.
Hosuh sees the die has landed on a 20. He doesn’t see his reflection turning its head and body to face him.
“Oh…Doesn’t it get lonely?” Hosuh mutters more to himself than to Dan. Nevertheless, he watches the die get cast onto the table and it lands on a one. An unsettling feeling of discomfort almost instantly settles in his stomach.
A sudden knocking sound comes from somewhere within the house, making him freeze. It actually sounds like someone is knocking on glass. The issue is that the sound did not come from the direction of the window.
“What was that?” Hosuh asks, looking in the direction from where the sound was coming from. His eyes fall onto the mirror and this time his breath stops mid inhale. ‘Holy crap.’ He thinks as his voice has left him for the most part.
His reflection smiles and waves lazily as it sits facing him with its legs crossed. With the way its reflected would mean that Hosuh would have to be sitting up against the mirror. But he's not. Hosuh, not having waved nor is sitting in the same position, only looks on with wide eyes filled with shock.
A silent, but tense, moment passes as Hosuh just stares at his reflection, unsure of what to expect next. He’s afraid if he moves, whatever is on the other side will also move more than it already has.
“Hey Dan? Why is my reflection not – uh reflecting me the way it’s supposed to?” Hosuh asks once his voice returns. If it crawls out of the mirror, he swears he’s going to throw himself out the window. He’ll have to apologize to Dan for breaking it, but he’ll find another time to come back – if ever.
He watches as the die floats into his field of vision and comes up to the mirror. It spins around while making several brief pauses mid-air. The reflection also turns its gaze to the die but Hosuh knows it is still watching him as well.
Another tense minute, that feels like several long minutes, passes in silence. Almost as soon as the die stops spinning, his reflection focuses its gaze fully back onto him. It feels like its silently judging him which is both ridiculous and concerning.
Finally, it lets out a silent sigh and opens its mouth to speak.
“Alright fine, Dan. I’ll trust you on this one.” His reflection says in a low voice that sounds nothing like his own. The way it’s frowning also shows that it still doesn’t seem to trust whatever Dan has told it.
“Huh?” Hosuh says in complete confusion but can feel the urge to escape the place quickly diminishing and being replaced with wonderment. The floating die retreats and hovers in the air a few feet away between the mirror and the silver-haired man currently still frozen in place.
Hosuh watches with rapt attention as his reflection disintegrates and blurs before being replaced with someone else entirely. Instead of his reflection sitting cross legged on the floor, it is a man with short fluffy blond hair wearing a dark green sweater, black pants, and a pair of sneakers.
The man looks at him through narrowed eyes and smiles a bit out of respect and maybe a bit out of awkwardness at the situation too.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Jay.” The man in the mirror says.

2 important things: New X-Kit’s been disabled after the latest Firefox update, so I’m gonna have a harder time navigating this hellsite until it’s back up and running.
Also, Monday 5/6/19 at 8pm EST (in 24 HOURS) is the series finale of Shadowhunters. They’re doing a special 2.5 hour finish (2 episodes back-to-back), because....

So I actually stopped typing because I had my hands clamped over my mouth for like the last five minutes of the episode (in a GOOD WAY though)

4. I’m guessing we need this twist because Zuko’s not ready to fully give up on the Fire Nation as-is yet – so he’s gonna fall in for a while and then, presumably make his decision to leave. Which he needs, because before when he left the fire nation the decision was made FOR HIM and now he needs to make it FOR HIMSELF. idk. it’s just a theory.
5. AANG NEARLY LITERALLY DIED AND I NEARLY DIED WITH HIM OH MY GOD
6. Bascially, I am apparently going into season three with NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT TO EXPECT

A Review of the Year – Writing Meme 2018

Looking back, did you expect to write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?:
I wrote more one-shots than I expected but as a consequence, I’m a little behind on part 3 of my main fic… and to say there was a time I thought I would finish it before the end of the year… how foolish of me xD
What’s your own favourite story of the year?:
This one is quite recent, but You need a haircut is one of my favorite stories. And Wake Up, of course. This fic has a special place in my heart.
Did you take any writing risks this year?:
Participating in the July Smut Challenge was a huge risk for me, having hardly written any smut at that time… and though life got in the way and I couldn’t answer all the prompts I got in time, it was a great experience!
Do you have any fanfic or profit goals for the new year?:
Finishing Wake Up is the main goal in 2019. After that… we’ll see ;)
Best story of the year?:
That’s impossible for me to say! I want to say Wake Up, but it’s not finished yet so that’s kind of premature. So, let’s say Honesty is the best policy? At least I finished that one xD
Most popular story of the year?:
That would be Wake Up, I suppose. Closely followed by Naughty games, the collection of prompts I wrote during the July Smutfest.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
That would be Drama King, because it has the lower stats. But I wouldn’t say it is under-appreciated. I mean, it really is just a one-shot ;)
Most fun story to write:
Row, row, row your boat (Chapter 3 of Honesty is the best policy). It features the best pun I’ve ever made! I still giggle sometimes when I think about it. LOL.
Story with the single sexiest moment:
I think the sexiest thing I ever wrote is Eyes wide open, one of my first smutty one-shots. I’m still kinda proud that I managed to use the word ‘cock’ only as a verb, hahaha
Most sweet story:
Take me home (Chapter 6 of Wake Up). Reyes comforts Sara, and he’s just the sweetest <3
“Holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you!” story:
I HAVE NO REGRETS. Lol. Seriously, I don’t regret any of the things I’ve written. There are some passages and scenes that I’m not quite satisfied with… mostly in my main fic. But I’m not ashamed of anything. NO REGRETS. xD

Honesty is the best policy. When I got to the end of it, I realized how much both Sara and Reyes had changed. It reflects a lot on what’s happening between them in the third part, I guess.
Most unintentionally telling story:
I think I have to say Wake Up again because when I started writing fanfic over a year ago, writing a 100K third part was definitely NOT planned…
Hardest story to write:
The longest and the hardest… Wake Up has definitely proved to be quite the challenge on every aspect!
Biggest disappointment:
Seeing people lose interest in my fic. Yes, it hurts, but… I really cannot blame them xD
Biggest surprise:
This goes with the previous question: seeing that people still read my fic!! Lol. Like I always said, it is pure self-indulgence. The fact that some people can relate to that, it’s just unbelievable.

Well, I was thinking about Mon-El bieng The Watcher Of The Dead, some dude who helps the souls go to afterlife, someone who is bascially feared, becasue you know, DEATH, BODIES and a crow who listens to him. As for Kara, she stays with her cousins in different village that is attacked by Mon's people and accidentally she is defeated by him (she loses concious and wakes up as his slave - you know, smiliar in Vikings era, just for a year). And she is pissed off, because she is shield maiden and a cool warrior and now she needs to take care of his house that is remoted and some crazy grandpa (loves to walks naked with a chicken on his shoulder). But well, Mon is in danger, someone wants to kill him, big drama, she saves his ass but then he takes her back to her family and... i have of course a km ending aka once per year the people can get married, but for a shield maiden, she can marry a guy who defeats her in a fight and... things happen.

2017 Fanfiction Year in Review
I got tagged by @xennariel @teslaswife and @wrongnote for this. THANK YOU!! All of you are so talented!!
Total number of completed stories: Including one-shots/drabbles (idk really on terminology lol) I wrote somewhere around 27. Considering I wrote my first piece of fanfiction in January 2017, I pretty proud of how much I got done this year!
Total word count: Good lord I have zero clue. Between tumblr and a03/ffnet, I’m not really sure. If I were to guess, I’d say around 40-50k.
Fandoms written in: FMA, Fairy Tail, RWBY (but mostly FMA)
Looking back, did you expect to write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected? - I honestly didn’t expect to write as much as I did with school ending/other life events, so I’m really happy with how much I did get done. I would like to write more this year for sure though.
What’s your own favorite story of the year? - My favorites by far were One Golden Summer and The Winter Festival.
Did you take any writing risks this year? - Lol just breaking into fanfiction again and sharing my writing was a pretty big risk for me! I didn’t delve into any subjects darker than general angst or thirstier than fluff, but I’m thinking this year I’ll try to push the limits a little more! I also adore writing poetry, so maybe some poetry or song writing is in my future???
Do you have any fanfic or profit goals for the new year? - Yes! I actually want to turn The Winter Festival into a longform fic where Ed goes to Briggs to meet a professor from Drachma and learn more about their alchemy. The one-shot I wrote would really be just the first chapter. I’m really looking forward to expanding it, but I’m not really sure where I’m going to go with it atm.
Best story of the year? - I think my best story of the year was One Golden Summer as far as me completing a coherent, multi-chapter story in a reasonable time frame. It was either that or Seven Shades of You, which was my Royai Week fanfic. It was more of a series of vignettes that a cohesive fic, but I really enjoyed how I wrote them.
Most popular story of the year? - As far as combined notes/what have you on tumblr, ffnet, and a03, my most popular story was Seven Shades of You. These were followed by The Ways We Say I Love You, Sulky Al (a drabble), The Question, and The Winter Festival.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Hmm probably I’m Not Going Anywhere. It’s a really angsty one-shot royai fic I wrote awhile back that takes place after the Promised Day. I guess the only reason I think this even a little bit is mostly on my end. It was SUPER hard to write. I wasn’t having a good writing day, and dream sequences are incredibly tedious.
Most fun story to write: Hands down Taunts In The Darkness. Royai (slightly smexy) banter gives me so much life lol XD
Story with the single sexiest moment: Lol I haven’t written anything outside of kissing, but Is That Roy’s Shirt? is the one I would say fits, but most of it is quite implied.
Most sweet story: Probably The Winter Festival. It’s just a lot of dorky fluffy Edwin, and this story has minimal angst (a rarity for me!!), so I say it’s the sweetest!
”Holy crap, thats wrong, even for you!” story: Nothing I can think of! Most of my subject matter is pretty tame lol… For now.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters & most unintentionally telling story: Probably Drunk On You. It’s not profound or anything (the opposite perhaps), but it was a joy to write/discover Havoc’s character more for myself. I personally find Winry the easiest fma character to write, but writing Havoc in this story was surprisingly smooth sailing??? Maybe I was just having a good writing day, but I’ll have to write him again to find out lol. XD
Hardest story to write: - Lol definitely The Final Note. I have this whole fic planned out and have only written the first chapter. I really like how it came out, but it took forever to write. I hope the rest will come easier this year!!
Biggest disappointment: Probably The Final Note. I was really excited about this fic, and then I got lazy and fizzled out. It’s not that I don’t love the idea (I DO), it’s just I know it’s going to be long, and my lazy self got a bit turned off by that. I’m definitely going to procrastinate less this year!!
Biggest surprise: That I finally got over my intense anxiety to post anything at all! Fanfiction has really helped informed my writing in general, as well as help me write more often! I adore these characters so much, and kind of “renting” them from Arakawa is the closest I’ll probably ever get to shaking her hand, and thanking her for all the inspiration she’s given me. Also, HUGE SHOUTOUT to anyone who’s read, liked, reblogged, or commented on my stories. I ADORE YOU WITH MY WHOLE HEART THANK YOU <3 <3 <3

I’m Back!
Hello, everyone. Sorry I’ve been MIA for a little while. The past few weeks have been a little hectic for me. I’m closing drabble requests now and have received lots of good ideas. Thank you to all of those who submitted! Also, two of the requests have turned into oneshots (this is a rare thing, but sometimes I get carried away and it happens lol.) The oneshots will be a pirate!au with some smut for Jimin and a dance camp smut with Yugyeom. I’m also finishing up my first Jungkook smut oneshot that I started working on ages ago and involves Netflix and chill. Hehe. Yoongi made me laugh a little with his delivery. My favorite part of the ending was the Jk/Yugy part. The only thing I felt was missing was more detail into Namjoon & Jin. But this story was amazing!!!
yeah hoseok was the hardest for me too. i wanted to keep anything namjin related kinda vague and open to the reader’s interpretation that’s why there wasn’t much material there but im very glad you enjoyed the story thank you :)

2016 Writing Year Review
Thanks @notbrogues for tagging me! Upon looking at my AO3 stats this year this is almost embarrassing but, haaaaaaaaahahahaha, let’s do it anyway.

Looking Back, Did You Expect To Write More Fic Than You Thought You Would This Year, Less, Or About What You’d Expected?
MORE, SO MUCH MORE. It’s not even funny how much less I wrote than what I’d planned. But with the craziness that was this year, I’m happy I was able to write anything really. The first half of the year S.O. had multiple surgeries and even more hospital stays and then I’ve lived in a construction zone for the past 5 months or so and gone through 3 different contractors and we both nearly lost our sanity (such as it is >.>) in the process, so, all in all, I suppose I shouldn’t complain and just be happy that things are finally finally settling down and looking a hell of a lot better going forward for the first time in years. (Which means so much more writing time, once we’re finished unpacking.)
But I am going to go put my head under a blanket because omg I didn’t even break 20k of published fic this year. Gahhh. /o\
What’s Your Own Favorite Story Of The Year?
Oooooooh, I don’t know. Maybe my Yuletide fic this year, Refraction, Redress, which was for the Miike Snow music video -- so many of my favorite themes: queer themes, found family, bamf ladies, and a happy poly ending -- and my Kingsman fics were also a lot of fun.

Did You Take Any Writing Risks This Year?
Ummm, not particularly I don’t think? Every fic was very different in terms of setting and themes, different styles of writing as well, so that was good, but I don’t know if any of them were risks, per se.
Do You Have Any Fanfic Or Profic Goals For The New Year?
Wriiiiiiiiiite. And finish things! I have so many WIPs gathering dust at this point and I’m rather attached to them all and I really want them to see the light of day. I also realized I haven’t written fic that wasn’t for an exchange fest in over a year, so I need to start doing that again. Also put the finishing touches on a bunch of Merlin fic I have lingering on my hard drive and fucking post it already. Finish the Kingsman Big Bang, which I’m super excited for! Everyone is so great, I can’t wait for everyone’s finished stuff.
But, yeah, mostly just write. Anything. Doesn’t really matter, I just need to get back in the rhythm of it all.

Most Popular Story Of The Year?
This isn’t even close to a competition: The World Will Follow After my 5+1 Merlin fic from the very beginning of the year full of accidental soulbonding and all that tropey goodness hahahaha
Story of Mine Most Under-appreciated By The Universe, IMO:
Well tiny fandom fic is always relatively underappreciated by virtue of being what it is, so Refraction, Redress again for last year. The tiniest of tiny fandoms!
Most Fun Story To Write:
Ooooooh, probably Follow Me Out, Across the Stars -- space! and sassy gentlemen in suits! and pining and flirting and all the fun stuff.
Story With The Single Sexiest Moment:
Maybe the rimming scene in The World Will Follow After? Or, actually, I’ll go with the wanking scene in Follow Me Out, Across the Stars. Idk, depends on your preferences I guess.
Most Sweet Story:
Errrr. Probably the same two, take your pick. I wouldn’t really describe any of the others as sweet, but people keep saying The World Will Follow After is sweet, so?
“Holy Crap, That’s Wrong, Even For You!” Story:
Nothing last year, although I currently have a fic planned out that is definitely, absolutely wrong even for me and I cackle with glee every time I think about it and it is all @alamerysl ‘s fault. I CANNOT BE BLAMED.

Story That Shifted My Own Perceptions Of The Characters:
Ummm, I know it’s not finished (oh god /o\), but Accidental Destinations was a huge process for me and I don’t think I’ve ever generated so many notes for any one fic before, but it also allowed me to get into a lot of nitty gritty details and such for all the characters, really fully flesh them out in a way a lot of my short fluffy stuff that, while fun, doesn’t have as much room to delve into. And I really really really need to finish it, because I genuinely adore a lot of the stuff I have planned for it, and I just need to connect the pieces.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
Probably Refraction, Redress, although Accidental Destinations may well end up being so in the future.
Hardest Story To Write:
God, I don’t know. Almost all of these ended up being a fight. The World Will Follow After was beyond uncooperative and it was not originally a 5+1 thing, but a much longer thing that just would not work, so I eventually hacked it into 6 parts and completely changed up the format to make it flow as a cohesive thing, and at least judging by the response I assume it did. My smutswap fic, Mine, was originally a completely different fic which I ended up just having to trash at the last minute and write a quick pwp with as many kinks as I could stuff to make up for it instead. Follow Me Out, Across the Stars also fought me although I was able to wrangle it more or less by the end, but not without an all-nighter (and really I’m way too old to still be doing that.... :’D).
Biggest Disappointment:
Having so little time to write and, frankly, not having the energy to do much with the time I did. Large parts of this year wiped me emotionally, but I was still able to come here and zone out and make my little corner of fandom my happy, away-from-the-world place and that meant a lot, so I’m not really hung up over it. You win some you lose some XD
Biggest Surprise:
Not dropping out of any of the things I did sign up for and ending the year on a good note, writing and all!
