Took a bit more than a week, but you can now find the girls HERE! Threads and the like are in the process of being ported over and replied to, so it might be a couple more days before you see any actual threads running, but this blog is now considered an ARCHIVE! <3

Let me be the first to ensure this isn't something I usually do. I don't ever just start a blog to abandon it, or go on a sudden hiatus - this was actually rather rare for me, and I apologize for how abrupt it was... And how abrupt it is to say the girls are moving.

A heavy part of my sudden vanishing act and slacking off has been stress - a combination of things offline that are out of my hands, depression and anxiety at an all time high with the current state of the world added into it, poor health, and the fact I run 12 blogs at the moment, both rp and non. I love my muses and I want to give each of them the time and exposure they deserved, which led to them each getting their own blogs... And me to get a fair bit overwhelmed. It’s gotten to the point lately that once I’ve done replies for my two main blogs, I’m mentally wiped out, at which point having 8+ smaller draft piles prompts anxiety and a ‘I’ll do that first thing tomorrow’ moment - A ‘first thing tomorrow’ that never comes and results in more anxiety and more slacking.

I opened this blog up from private to selective because I thought my writing was ready, and it is. What I didn’t count on was realizing how overwhelmed I was by 12 blogs in total and sliding myself under a rock to deal with it, and that’s on me and I apologize. Throwing down a starter call and running wasn’t my intention in the least, and for this reason, I’m making a multimuse, and moving this blog, as well as the majority of my ygo rp blogs, to it. The goal is to ease those multiple small drafts and blogs into one and hopefully loosen the rock I’ve gone and shoved myself under, so I can get back to doing what I love: writing.

The multi should be done within the next week or so, with any luck, and I’ll drop a link to it when it is. If anyone is still interested in interacting with them at that point, just let me know and I’ll port over threads started under the recent call. Once more, my apologies for the sudden unintended hiatus, and I hope everyone is doing all right, as well. <3

SPEED: Slow. This is by far not my main blog, or my most active, no matter how much fun I have with the girls. <3 I’m not ignoring anything here, I just have more to do on other blogs and burn out before I can work my way here, as well as a lot of stuff offline and anxiety and depression eating at my focus.

REPLIES: About 2 paragraphs is my go to! I love to write and I love to be descriptive, but I also never expect anyone to match my length on things, either. I just look for reasonable; i.e. no 2-3 lines back for 2-3 paragraphs.

STARTERS: I do a starter call once in a blue moon and I don’t mind writing them for partners, especially since I’m the one who’s usually free most often. I don’t usually do things like opens all that often tho ‘cause I like to keep things personalized to my partners. ...I am also anxiety in a can, it’s nice to meet you-

INBOX: My inbox is always open, especially since I love doing memes! It’s a quick and easy way to get in touch with me and the girls, but tumblr also loves to eat things, too. This is another point where I’m not ignoring things? It’s literally tumblr eating my inbox, or giving me asks weeks later and then it feels too awkward to respond.

SELECTIVITY: Heavily so, for my own comfort’s sake. I am not usually good at all with canon muses and heavily lean towards OCs, so getting a handle on the girls’ personalities and portrayals is difficult going, to say the least. I took this blog off private because I felt it was time, but I’m not ready to go barreling into the masses yet, either. Still getting a firm handle on everything. <3

WISHLIST: Friends! I need friends for these girls! <3 Let Yuzu tell you about music and rabbits and pink things! Let Rin talk endlessly about mechanics, or Ruri about the birds in the park! Watch Serena yeet Yuri into space and never once feel bad about it! They need people to talk to and hang out with <3

Canon Mun Questions!

3: What is something that was never addressed at all in thecanon material that you have independently developed for your muse? 

Lemme just split this into sections for ease of answering XD

Ruri: Her backstory and how she ended up with the Kurosaki family, as well as her view on being fused with Yuzu post-canon. I don’t at all think the girls are dead after the events of canon, they’re still within Yuzu just as much as the boys are inside Yuya, but all of this is my interpretation. We get some backstory with her, but… How tf did she end up with the Kurosaki family to the point even Shun thought she was born into their family and always his blood sister? What was her life like prior to meeting Yuto past those couple of flashbacks? This blog’s canon has her found by an elderly couple who loved her and realized they couldn’t care for her, and gave her to the Kurosakis with the knowledge they could. She’s a happy kid with her brother. She deserved more story than she got.

Rin: The same as Ruri’s in that I gave her a proper backstory and feelings towards the fusing. Rin was so much of a blank slate it’s not fair? We got such little info on her that as far as this blog is concerned, Rin was found by the orphanage she grew up in, but eventually started questioning why she (and the other kids) was there, just to be told her parents passed in an accident. Wondering about the ‘what if’ (What if she’d been there, could she have helped them, did they like her, if she hadn’t been there…) combined with the Tops looking down their nose at her and the others in commons gives rise to her ‘ice queen’ personality, but also results in her questioning everything by the time post-canon comes around. In actual canon she just gets like… Five minutes. Ten tops. Not enough for this girl.

Ray: She has more of a backstory with Zarc here - Namely that she’s been more involved with him for a while prior to him going bonkers. They’ve had a kind of relationship (even if she won’t call it that) and she knows him way more intimately than canon even remotely hints at. As far as I’m concerned, she also still exists within Yuzu, just differently from how the other girls do.

Serena: How she got her Lunalights, her relationship (or lack thereof) with Yuri, and growing up in Academia. We gets hints here and there of things, but they don’t really tell us anything past those hints? Blog canon has decided Serena was found by the professor and raised alongside Yuri, but kept her distance from him because there was something about him she just couldn’t stand. She recieived her Lunalights from a teacher she liked before they never came back from a mission (having been doubting Academia and got carded for it under the guise of another routine mission), and began to hate the memory probes Leo conducted on her - Part of her reason for wanting out as much as she did to prove herself. She was a solider, but if she proved herself, would the probes stop…?

Yuzu: Her Melodious deck is actually a newer archetype (not new-new, just on the newer side of things) and she picked it because she loves music. Her childhood is getting more fleshed out here, with her growing up happy and having interests and music lessons. There’s also a lot I have in mind for post-canon, with her having to learn how to live with three other voices in her head and how she came back to life- I’m still working on how much I’m looking to expand things here but there’s a lot I’m eager to work out with @pendulumrisen!

5:What is an aspect of your muse’s canon material or canonexistence that you never had the opportunity to explore but really want to?

There’s a lot I haven’t touched on for Ray yet, but I honestly want to explore her feelings towards Zarc’s possible revival and her dad’s plans to revive her. Like I mentioned above, this blog’s canon involves Ray and Zarc having had a relationship (of sorts) prior to the split, and part of her reason for stealing the En cards in my portrayal was because she knows him and wanted to try and stop him herself, on top of wanting to save her dad from a probable death if he’d tried. We know from canon she wasn’t pleased by Leo trying to revive her, but… We don’t get too deep into that? We don’t get too deep into a lot of Ray’s character and gdi I want more??

I’d also love to look more into how Ray was as a duelist. We know she’s strong and gave Zarc a run for his money but what was her deck? Did she do tournaments? Was she popular? Why the pink goggles? There’s so much to Ray I’m super eager to explore and I’m taking everyone down with me. XD

A rule-change announcement! <3 I’ve decided to take the girls off private and make them highly selective! So what’s this mean?

Quite basically, I’m open to more threads now, as I’ve gotten a bit more confident in my portrayals of the girls. On the flip side, I still have limits and may not thread with everyone, as I still haven’t quite found my comfort zone in regards to this blog and my portrayals, and I’m not ready to expand past what I haven’t yet found. This is definitely all on me and nothing on anyone else. <3

This is also going to stay a very low activity blog; I have multiple blogs, many of which are within the ygo fandom. My ultimate main focus is not this one, but @sworntolight​ on the Vrains side of things, and where most of my attention goes. <3

Shun. Her brother’s name rest on the tip of her tongue, magenta eyes drifting to the ground. She didn’t need Yuto to say his name for her to know he was who he’d meant, or for the pangs of heartache to creep in; how long now had it been since she’d seen him? Too long, honestly. “I wish he could be here. It’s a bit too quiet for him, but I’m sure he’d like the chance to relax, too.”

Taking a deep breath, Ruri forced the heartache back underneath a rock and flashed Yuto a bright, gentle smile. Where their lives had taken them was unexpected and filled with downs, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t make the most of it anyway, right? “There’s a zoo at the edge of this park, actually! Yuzu’s spoken of it a bit - We could go see the birds! What do you think?” She hated to spend Yuzu’s money for the entrance fee, but it was something fun they could do together in their limited time together - And didn’t have to be overly loud, either!

“They have a serval I think, too.”

“Come to think of it, I think I’ve heard Yuya mention that before, too. He and Yuzu go there together sometimes, don’t they?”

At least, the persistent voice in the back of his mind that could only belong to his Standard counterpart said that Maiami’s zoo was somewhere completely familiar to the two of them. Even if Yuto wasn’t about to ask Yuya just how many times they’d been there, it was nice to know that he could rely on someone else to help out if he’d ended up getting him or Ruri lost somewhere along the way.

“But if that’s really how you want to spend our afternoon, then I don’t think they’d mind. I think I’ve got enough money with me to cover the both of us to get in, too.” After all, the zoo couldn’t be that expensive, could it? 

“Mhm. Yuzu talks about it sometimes.” Not often, though, and Ruri could never understand why; was it some kind of date? Yuzu’s own groan somewhere inside her head about it being ‘not a date’ forced a bitten tongue, however; would Yuto think her odd if she giggled at her counterpart’s quick comment and attempts to hide herself away when nobody had mentioned a date between them in the first place? “I’ve heard about the few big cats they have. It’d be nice to see them - I’m sure it’s nothing like what we had back home.”

Home. Ruri’s smile faltered for only a second at that word, another pang of heartache following right after. Shed decided ages ago she was lucky to be so near Yuto and with people who cared about her, so why did it still... Bah. No matter when she had a Yuto to beam at, lifting a hand to hide her smile behind- “Thank you, but you don’t have to do that, you know. I’m sure I have enough on me to pay for admission too, but that’s so sweet of you...~”

No matter how much her heart ached sometimes, Yuto never failed to drive it out and replace it with pure warmth. Let Shun huff and grumble - Her heart belonged to the boy in front of her!

“Unless you’d like if I bought us ice cream inside, instead?”

“And I should’ve sewn that sooner.” She’d own up to her mistake right there and then, too, giving his shoulder another push before her hands fell away from it. This wasn’t all his fault; irritated or not, she wasn’t going to pile all the blame on him. “If we can’t find it, we’ll never get anywhere close to moving again for months. You better hope we find it.”

Just like she was, pulling away from his side as her expression fell for a sigh. An accident that could derail their dream completely… Of course it’d happen to them. Commons always got the short end of the stick when it came to life, and this seemed to be no different, even if it was by their own hand. But on that same note, where could it have fallen? “It was split pea. Are you sure it was in your pocket when we left?”

How big had that hole been, again? Could it have just fallen out the moment he put it in there and they’d just not noticed? “You didn’t hear it hit the ground anytime, did you?”

“Yeah, ‘cept if I woulda heard it hit the ground before, then it wouldn’t have been lost in the first place. It’s not like I went ‘n tried to lose that part, Rin-Rin.”

And Yugo was set to do everything he could to find it again, too; even if that meant skipping the dinner his stomach was practically screaming for already. Their D-Wheel meant a lot to them both, and if they couldn’t get their bike back up and running again, it’d be just like shooting all of their hopes and dreams right in the foot. They needed that part.

Yugo still couldn’t help a defeated sigh though. As much as he wanted to argue back, now wasn’t the time for him to get defensive—not when he’d been the one carrying the piece to start.

“…Look, I know it’s almost dinner time ‘n all, so how about you head back and I’ll backtrack to see if I can’t figure out where I dropped that part. There ain’t a point in both of us going hungry ‘cause of something like this.”

For a moment, Rin paused mid-stride to simply stare; the bottomless pit himself... Wanted to let her just up and leave for dinner like that? The part was important, but he’d just heard her own up to her end of things, right? As sweet - and surprising - as the offer was, she just couldn’t take it, recovering from her shock with a shake of her head. “No. If you’re going, so am I, Yugo. If I’d sewn up your pocket when you originally told me about it, the part wouldn’t be lost. And two sets of eyes are better than one, especially with a part this important.”

She was quick to step away before he could counter, though it was less to prevent him from doing so, and more to hide the hand that laid against her stomach for no more than a second. She was already starving, and going back sounded like a blessing with how empty her stomach felt, but... How could she do that to him? Either they both ate or neither of them would, that was that! If he was looking, so was she!

Except finding their missing part would be easier said than done, she knew, tilting her head towards the sidewalk they’d just come down. “It’s not that small. It shouldn’t take us long, and then we’ll both eat when we get back. I’m not taking no for an answer this time.”

[You’re gonna die Yuya-]

A quick leap off the side of her platform made grabbing the next possible, Yuzu’s determination driving her to pick the most difficult path up to his perch. She’d get there - She’d get to that perch and prove to him he wasn’t as safe up there as he thought he was! She could make it, a second taken to judge her next step before she pulled herself up onto solid wood. The fastest path would be the most dangerous…

And yet, she found herself not caring a single bit, bouncing from smaller step to smaller step for her next larger stop. There was something about how Yuya had parked himself up there and his carefree teasing that screamed he’d done something to her, and when he combined it with teases about being unable to get there? He’d successfully gotten underneath her skin, a distraction enough that had her sneaker slipping just slightly on her next stop. Had to be careful for that… “You don’t ever act so innocent like this unless you’ve done something! You’re teasing - What’re you hiding, Yuya?!”

“Hey, take it easy, Yuzu! If you keep yelling like that, you gonna be lucky if you even make the next jump!”

And if she hadn’t noticed it by now, then who was to say he’d done anything? It was just proof that Yuzu wasn’t keeping tabs on her deck like her dad told her to do because if she was —then she’d notice that she was missing one of her very best Extra deck cards; her Bloom Prima. The card was safely sitting on top of Yuya’s own deck securely tucked away in his duel disk.

“And besides, you’ll never know what I did if you can’t make it all the way up here, too. So try not to trip up too fast, okay? But if you can make it to that next platform-” The one right in front of Yuzu now, “then I’ll give you a hint. How’s that?”

A part of her wanted to just activate her duel disk and get one of her monsters to help her up, but in this case... In this case the larger part of her screamed that’d be cheating, especially when she needed to work on herself as a dueltainer. She could beat him hard in a duel later - For now, she just needed another deep breath, a couple quick steps, and a jump, and...

-And another slip, considering while she’d crossed the gap just fine, her heel had missed the edge and sent the pink-haired girl wobbling backwards some before she could regain her footing. Yuzu couldn’t remember that gap being so wide before, but... Maybe she’d just misremembered? “No, you’re going to tell me what you did, Yuya! Before I get up there!” Her fan was itching for the back of his head, and who was she to deny it? Especially when she’d known him long enough to know he never acted like this if he hadn’t done something!

One more jump brought her several feet higher, a tilt of her head hopefully hiding a huff meant to help her regain her breath. It’d been a while since she’d tried to tackle the platforms again, clearly- “Give yourself up now and maybe I’ll let you get off with a small smack!”
