I never posted about it publicly, but I had an apartment back when I was in Chaos DC. Ever since moving to Dynamis I've just been Gaming and not really doing much else. Recently though, I joined an FC and got a room in it... which means: the Chrom (Ch)Room... Returns!!!!
Tumblr media
It's basically almost a one to one reconstruction of the apartment I had. A bit of a tour below
Tumblr media
Wasn't sure what to do with this front door area space, so it's a showcase/broom closet. I used to have the Eureka furniture here, but I guess I sold or discarded it before moving.
Tumblr media
On the other side is the kitchen! Culinarian is Chrom's main crafting job. It's a bit Ul'dah inspired, as the apartment used to be there and Ul'dah is still my favourite city.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The living area! Scholar is Chrom's main healer (also astrologian) - so he's accumulated a ton of books over his travels... and some Hingan touches as well (always got someone from Doma on the mind...)
Tumblr media
The loft is hilariously hard to get into. I am not fixing that anytime soon 😃
Tumblr media
Before that though, the bathroom!!! Really simple.
Tumblr media
And lastly... the loft!! Which is more like an attic cuz of how small it is... Very simple up here as well (placing and floating things up here is just a hassle. I used to have the marble alcove bed, but now I struggled to float it so nvm)
It's not too crazy, and it's warm and cozy and decently good looking which is good enough for me! Love me that dark wood everywhere

Prompt #6: Ring
Character: Sayuri Aoki
Age: 22
His gaze immediately locked atop the Seeker sat where he was used to seeing a Midlander, eyes narrowed. The icy, mismatched eyes of the Miqo’te had briefly left the paper she had been scribbling on, an unamused stare being sent his way as he made his way further into the office, shortly followed by a Raen he was not all too familiar with.
“Lady Aoki.” He uttered.
A bitter expression was quick to take to the woman’s features as her name was spoken, swiftly sinking into a disgruntled scowl.
“Touji.” His name left her lips curtly, making him loft a brow.
“Are we on a first-name basis, Sayuri?”
The Seeker exhaled sharply, the brush in her hand slowly being settled down on her desk. His presence clearly irked her, even if she was commonly known to be in a perpetually poor mood.
“What does the Sekiseigumi want?” She snapped. “Or is it simply you?”
“Sekiseigumi business, I’m afraid.” He lofted a brow. “An associate of yours was found dead, this morning.”
Touji carefully observed Sayuri’s uncaring expression, the only thing changing being a slightly lofted brow. It certainly wasn’t news to her, as he suspected. His gaze briefly shifted to the contents upon her desk, offering a slow blink as he only now realised what laid upon it - quite openly.
A steel ring, decorated with an orange stone and matching Hingan symbols carved into its sides; an exact match of the one thing that had been reported missing from Kaito’s body. Bloodstained, the crimson hue clinging to it a mere few bells old.
His gaze lift back up to meet Sayuri’s, her own having followed his to the ring before rising back up to lock in his. A frown settled on his features.
“.. I see you already know.” He spoke curtly. “Did you do it yourself, or did one of your lackeys do it? Or are you simply in the habit of collecting valuables off corpses?”
“I gave the order.” Sayuri confirmed. “With good reason.”
“Good reason?” Touji scoffed. “You’re in a bloody criminal sect, don’t make me laugh.”
The Seeker leaned back, pulling out a drawer of her desk and collecting a stack of papers before leaning over her desk - dropping them atop the platform she sat on for Touji to reach for.
“I am. Ironic that I did the job you should have, hm?”
Touji warily collected the papers, flickering through them - eyes widening with mild horror at the words he caught.
“..What in the name of the Kami..?”
“Proof that he wasn’t as bloody innocent as you think he was.” Her words were hissed, her tail swatting behind her irritably. “I may be a criminal, but I do not allow my people, or associates, to delve into slavery. Kaito was given a warning to cease his newfound hobby, and he didn’t.”
He didn’t want to believe her, but the evidence in his hands.. Made it hard not to. It could be fabricated, of course.. She had the means to do such. Noting his hesitance, Sayuri leaned back, settling her arms upon her desk.
“By all means, follow the trail yourself. Conduct your own investigation, if you must. And if you are still not convinced at the end of it, you know where to find me.” Sayuri’s hand gestured around the room. “I am not going anywhere.”
Touji felt his frustration rise, the damning evidence in his hands was too much to simply ignore - but Sayuri was being insufferably confident in that he’d simply follow the trail she had left for him.
“I will conduct my own investigation.” He warned. “And when I find out the truth, you can expect another visit.”
“Your visit better involve a bloody apology for interrupting my morning.” She quipped. “Now, if that’s all?”
He exhaled sharply through his nose, turning on his heels to head for the door - which the Raen promptly opened to let him slip through before offering Sayuri a bow and exiting himself, shutting the door behind them.
He wasn’t sure who was the most irritable leader of the criminal ring he had encountered - the previous one, Hayate, or the current one. He certainly didn’t like either of them.

FFXIV Free Company Housing ‘Starstruck’
Beyond an aether shadow of a doubt.
Jenova, Empyreum 5th Ward, Plot 1
more pictures and commentary under the cut
Been playing ffxiv lately and the free company i’m in got a house when the lottery system first dropped a while back. was appointed housing master since nobody else was really playing at the time and were keen to decorate.
Tumblr media
only a small plot but the view is nice being fairly isolated and elevated from the other houses. got easy access to the marketboard which was really helpful when i was crafting most of the furniture.
Tumblr media
exterior furniture limit was a measly 20 items but the cafe exterior did alleviate the limit by including a cute patio and outdoor dining. replaced the stargazing carbuncle for a striking dummy so i could place a retainer outside attending the bbq spit.
Tumblr media
small houses are only allowed one gardening plot so i placed ours up front. can actually reach the roof by jumping from the stables or garden here.
Tumblr media
current entrance design. wanted to mimic the window arch of the default exterior as basement glitching obscured original entrance. the back of the tonberry couch and decorative wall fan made a nice rising sun pattern when clipped through the window.
Tumblr media
older design originally had wooden slats give a stronger impression of separate doors with a more pronounced handle, but decided to save slots and replace it with a fabric rack above to accent the couch pattern - it also served as a hitbox, otherwise players could clip through the whole door (which is still possible by just jumping through the window lol).
Tumblr media
current west wall. used aurora lights phasmascape as falcon’s nest is nearby ishgard. creating the lattice pattern used two factory partitions since the phasmascape has a slight curve around the middle. added a tabletop showcase giving a soft back glow and subtle reflection up close.
Tumblr media
old pic of west wall. i liked the idea of a curved window frame but changed it since the slot commitment was a bit high when i also used two swag valences to hide the upper part of the phasmascape. liked the bread rack textures as a wall accent better, but the current blank partitions are wide enough to also force camera to not clip into the adjacent bookshelves.
Tumblr media
even older pic of west wall, where the window was wider. might return to this idea and expose more of the distant sky. could probably hang more curtains so it looks less like a high hanging flatscreen tv.
Tumblr media
also older pic of entrance lounge. south seas couch is real nice matching by the fortemps fireplace, but decided against the whites and marble.
Tumblr media
old pic of entrance and lounge. bit better view of the custom ceiling which is still present. lofted a glade canopy bed to encircle the chandelier. used to have the cute ronka rocking chair floated ontop the harpsichord, but wanted a couch for at least two people to chill.
Tumblr media
current entrance lounge. snuck the suzaku painting into the crafting loom as a ‘magical fireplace’ of sorts. - didn’t like the idea of live flames being so close to all these books lol.
Tumblr media
current north wall. used the wondrous door window as, well, a door. rotated it so that the sun rays don’t shine inwards. hid the g’raha portrait and used the bottom tassel to accent the door. originally wanted those tassels on the west aurora wall, but the painting kept snapping to the lattice factory partitions.
Tumblr media
another view of current north wall. lots more book shelves. chopped down a lot of rosewood trees. flipped the staggered shelf and used the blank middle circle to hang a clock, hiding the numbers. basement entrance is right behind the trick door bookshelf.
Tumblr media
old east wall. used to have a private and cozy reading nook - (un)fortunately inaccessible to taller people.
Tumblr media
current east wall. replaced the reading nook with a retainer waiting nook. hid a storm cot behind a hingan shelf, exposing just the wall papers. floated a nymian wall lamp against the storm cot vertical beam, making it appear as a rotatable fixture.
Tumblr media
current east wall, upper floor. used glade bookshelf as a table and rotated the orchestrion because i like the back pattern.
Tumblr media
old pic of basement hallway. i like using wood slats as partitions, but alas, the furniture limit limits thus.
Tumblr media
old basement hallway also didn’t branch right into back boiler room. window light rays looked nice shining on the indoor tree.
Tumblr media
old basement entryway. used to have a small lounge with the retainer bell stacked on some books. the oasis couch was snug was lined nicely with the wall and shelf.
Tumblr media
current basement hallway. made aquariums freshwater as the brackish water gives a softer yellow green lighting.
Tumblr media
also like having the allagan nodes floating in the tank. just silly lil floating guys. used to have chairs hidden under these partition tables so you sit right next to the aquarium glass, but scrapped the idea to save on slots.
Tumblr media
current basement entryway. lowered ceiling with tatami loft and added hanging ornamental array. even more bookshelves yup.
Tumblr media
and walking up these stairs to..
Tumblr media
a small dining area! one of my fav spots in the house and surprisingly went through the least renovations. the crystal array and seawater tank gave a vibrant blue lighting, distinct from all other areas so far. lofted an indoor pond so camera wouldn’t clip into this area from the below kitchen, but the geometry caused rocks to still jut out, which i personally feel adds a bit more rustic flare anyhow.
Tumblr media
and the kitchen area right below the dining room. rotated the hingan oven such that the pipe lined up with a ceiling light fixture. wanted to give impression of exposed plumbing, leading to boiler room in the next room over.
Tumblr media
kitchen’s other side, with a step stool for me. saving slots meant exposing the blue stage curtain draping from the dining area. wanted to place a lot of edible foods on the table, but ended up only using a cooking facility and grocery cart to cover a wider area of the kitchen steppe kitchen.
Tumblr media
old pic of backroom boiler hallway. changed the sliding door to a simple windor-door to better guide camera through the hallway. used to have a hairdresser bell here, thinking you’d be able to chill in the bath close by right after a haircut.
Tumblr media
old backroom. used to the ‘red room’ as that’ll be all i’d see when i miss the hammer tower minigame. was fond of how the cataur was illuminated dramatically here.
Tumblr media
had the stairs lead up to a glade bath. the cherry petals looked really pretty floating in the water. the ambiance when the light was shining was really lovely.
Tumblr media
eventually scrapped the backroom-bathroom idea in favour of a more industrial boiler-energy room that would provide energy throughout the house. used lots of enigma partitions alongside factory grates here.
Tumblr media
lots of motion with the rotating gears, and even occasional steam exhaust from the alchemy furnace. loose fabrics close to rotating gears might be a safety hazard, but i still like the stage curtain hanging here.
Tumblr media
finally a bonus pic of the void. would sometimes jump up after closing menus and find myself here. can see the panels and bed i stuck through the ceiling.
Tumblr media
ffxiv housing is fun with the unique kinds of furnishings available and the housing community is always sharing new and creative designs. thanks for reading through this guided tour and hope you visit our small house in this big mmo!

I’m pretty proud of Toto’s apartment! It’s not very big but it sure is snug, with a separate bathroom, cooking and eating area, study nook, sitting loft and cosy bed. Steppe and Hingan styled of course, his two biggest influences of culture growing up. I’m not super good at housing arrangements and make it up as I go a lot like in Animal Crossing, but it’s such a comfortable little place I would definitely live in, and he loves to. Can you guess his favourite colour?

(XIV|21-29: Debonair. Idanwyn Lluanswys.)
Tumblr media
[♪]
“Aren’t you worried about the rain messin’ up your fancy garb, Captain?” Kanekiyo put enough emphasis on her title to ensure she knew he was mocking her.
Idanwyn didn’t rise to the bait. “Wouldnae be particularly good sailin’ garb if I didnae want it tae get wet, now, would it?” Pushing away from the stone pillar, she turned on her bootheel to face the Raen. Even for one of his kind, he was tall; her own six fulms, three ilms, put the top of her hat at the bottom of his ribcage. “Why’re ye speakin’ in Eorzean on this side o’ th’ star, anyroad?”
Kanekiyo raised a scaled brow, ticking off reasons on his fingertips. “ ‘Cause there aren’t too many bilingual, pale Sea Wolf runts what have cursed ships,” Idanwyn mimed cutting her throat with her left index finger, shaking her head rapidly, “and are expressly prevented from makin’ port here,” the Sea Wolf bared her teeth, eyes staring daggers up at the green-eyed Raen, “thanks to pissin’ off the yakuza.”
“I’m goin’ tae drown ye me ainself, I swear tae Llymlaen an’ th’ kami, both,” she hissed, throwing up her hands in defeat. “I suppose I brought tha’ on meself by askin’. Fine. I ken this is no’ th’ garb those wha’ are dear tae me here would expect tae see me in. Still,” she ducked her head and paused. The group of Limsan tourists she’d made the journey with---she’d dressed far more inconspicuously then, of course---clattered down the pier, exclaiming loudly about the architecture, the crimson sunset like patches of magma against the scattering rainclouds.
“[Still,]” she continued in Hingan, pitching her voice so it was just audible above the rain, the chatter, “[can we please get to the damned skiff? The sooner we’re in Yanxia, the better.]” They walked side-by-side, Kanekiyo stooping so his horns could catch her words, headed to a smaller pier at the eastern edge of the bustling port city. “[I still don’t understand why I had to go through all of this trouble. I could’ve travelled by aether to the geomancer’s temple quite easily. Then, a short day’s hike, perhaps two, to the falls.]”
As they boarded their rented sailboat, sharing the duties needed to launch her, Kanekiyo explained. “[The sage is able to trace paths through the aether. It’s not unheard of for one to go physically blind, then gain that sort of skill.]”
“[Nor is it as common as you’re making it sound,]” she replied dryly. The pair worked in silence for a time, then took a moment to relax as the stars poked through the Firmament. Idanwyn took a deep breath, removing her tricorne the moment they lost sight of Kugane; a brisk evening wind hastened their journey across the Ruby Sea.
“Ye really t’ink this sage could track me t’rough th’ aether?” she asked at length. In the depths below, Sui-no-Sato was a shimmering pearl against the darkness; both sailors watched it diminish as they passed. “If sae, might be as I should find a different path fer me crew tae take. We can find another way tae make an airship. Hells, if I give Zakuro enough time, gil, an’ tea, we could at least get some...I dinnae, rockets or summat.”
Kanekiyo groaned. “I still can’t believe they let you be a Captain. Rockets? Seriously?!” He let up when he saw the look she was giving him; a smug smile, amber eyes reflecting the lantern on the prow. “Okay, fine, you got me. I really can’t tell when you’re being stupid for fun or for real, though.”
The pale Sea Wolf’s aetheric sleeve tattoo glowed bright, pinpricks of blue light wending through the weave of her coat sleeve. A moment after, the waters below, with perfect accuracy, lofted a confused herring onto an even more confused Kanekiyo’s face. “Aye. I’ve tae keep ‘em guessin’, lad, or tis an early grave fer auld Idanwyn Lluan’s-kin,” she announced debonairly, one hand on her embroidered waistcoat, the other held aloft in the air, the very picture of a pirate queen.
Such a picture was never meant to last; Kanekiyo, also a geomancer, set the seat of her pants alight, sending her overboard in a hurry. “Godsdammit!” she hollered upon surfacing; he merely waved farewell, the unfortunate herring flapping in his hand like a salt-wife’s handkerchief. Fortunately, it was only about a half malm to shore; an easy swim for her, even if her garb wasn’t as seaworthy as she’d claimed it to be. She’d die before she admitted that to her senpai, however; he was insufferable enough already.
They grilled the herring and many of its fellows for supper, Idanwyn in the plain tunic and trousers that she preferred for sailing, her Captain’s garb drying nearby. The skiff was well-dug into the pebbly sand of the shore; tomorrow, just before sunrise, they’d break camp and navigate an underground river until they reached Yanxia. There, too, she’d see this sage for herself; see if they were worth the risk to her crew.

Living Roe in a Tiny House (202011 Build)
After months of learning glitches as well as much trial and error I finally have a house I’m proud of! It’s not perfect, but it’s home. 😊 This is my small in Mist Ward 15 Plot 19 on Spriggan. Apologies for the wide angle shots, it’s much better in person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I absolutely love the concept of tiny homes and container homes. Living Big in a Tiny House is one of my favorite YouTube channels. I drew a lot of inspiration from the designs in that show. I was excited to try designing in such a narrow space. It only takes up about 1/3 of the space on the top floor. It was definitely a challenge when it came to working with the camera. A lot of removing walls and adding them back just to see what I was doing!
Tumblr media
I got to a point where I had achieved the main layout but felt that the area above the door was too empty. So I made this lighted roof fixture using wooden beams, long windows, and oasis lanterns. Sometimes you just gotta wing it! 🤣
Tumblr media
I knew right away that my focal point would be the kitchen. IRL I love to cook. I make most things from scratch and spend hours in there, so I wanted my love of cuisine to flow over into my virtual house as well.
Tumblr media
One really cool thing I’ve noticed about tiny homes is how they will have some sort of covering over the kitchen sink. This is to increase countertop room in such a small space. So I did my best to replicate that.
Tumblr media
Tiny homes often have a lot of the storage areas built into the walls. I added the hingan desk thinking that it would be light and easy to move when the storage drawers needed to be accessed.
Tumblr media
I couldn’t decide if I wanted an aquarium or a window here... so I decided to get weird with it and do a kind of surrealist window with fish floating around in it. 🤣
Tumblr media
I decided to keep the sleeping loft super simple instead of some of the more extravagant ones some tiny homes have. This way it can act as a multi-purpose space. I missed not having a bathroom. If I was building in a large I could have added one behind the kitchen but the length of a small isn’t quite enough. So I totally cheated here and added a mystery door. Who’s to say there isn’t a bathroom behind it? Or a deck? Or a closet? We don’t know and we don’t need to! 😉
Tumblr media
The best tiny homes have tons of natural light. It helps to make the small space not feel claustrophobic. Many forgo a television area as well, but I can’t survive without my shows!
Tumblr media
Thank you for taking the time to look at my design and read about my silly thought process. If you happen to be on Chaos please drop by and leave me a message! ❤ Update: Build no longer active.

Sleep Tight
Knock, knock.
She stirred and shook her head to gain her bearings. Dawn seemed to be wearing a shirt a size too large for her that she didn’t remember putting on.
Knock, knock, knock.
“Oh!” she bounded down the stairs of her loft bed, almost tripping from a mix of her rush and clumsiness. She caught her footing toward the end. “Nailed it.”
She opened the door, “Nijah? Adventure time-?...”
It was a black void before her. The smell of sea salt and ocean waves sprung to life, the scenery around her shifting to the Kugane markets.
Before she could understand what was going on, the scene shifted again. She appeared to be sitting in a fancy Hingan bar, a table reserved for three. Dim lights were scattered throughout the establishment. Something clicked in her head and she realized she could see clearly; she must have been dreaming. She pursed her lips at the disappointment. To her left sat someone who she knew was Carrera in an elegant raven gown, and to her right, a Xaela in a suit. Both of them fixated across the floor.
“K-Khair?” she muttered out.
The Xaela shot her an annoyed glance. “No.”
Off in the distance, a Hyur gentleman sat at a piano, playing a gentle and alluring tune, haunting, even. “Hadriel?” she asked.
“Well, at least you got one right, you’re shooting with fifty percent accuracy right now.” the Xaela muttered.
“Wait, where am I?” Dawn asked, confused.
The Xaela sighed, “Some way, somehow, you’re sitting in my memories. I would ask you to leave but I have the feeling you don’t know the way out.”
“Ah.” she swung her feet and hummed, listening to the music.
Adala perked a brow, “So what are you doing? Are you just going to sit there and annoy me?”
Dawn thinned her lips. “I was trying to be quiet and not annoy you.”
A hand ran through the Xaela’s hair as she sipped her drink, “Your very presence grates on my nerves. And here I thought you might’ve wandered in here for some actual reason. An existential crisis perhaps. Some grand question as to who you are now or what to make of the predicament you’re in.”
The White Mage gave a cheesy grin to Adala, “Nope. Just looking around. I… I don’t know how I got here, to be honest.”
“Probably the brain damage. But what do I know?” she shrugged, drink in hand.
Deadpanned at her, “Hey, wasn’t that your fault? What was it you said? ‘Let me take the helm.’.” she voiced mockingly.
“I’ve never met you before, but I hate you. I want you to know that. I hate you to the very core of my being.” Adala retorted.
Dawn tried to control her smirk and ended up with a scrunchy face. “Oh well. Since I’m stuck here, might as well enjoy the company and music.” She stuck her tongue out teasingly, then looked to the pianist. “He looks younger.”
“Well, by your recollection, he’s a great many years older now. But he wasn’t always.” Adala commented.
“So he always wore those bandages? And the eye patch?” she replied.
Adala laughed, “No, not always. He didn’t always play sad music either.”
Dawn tilted her head as she regarded Adala, “What changed?”
“He lost things dear to him. Things he could never replace. Since then he’s been a solemn man, alone and spiteful. But as I understand it, things have changed now.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well,” she scoffed, “He has that new little wife of his and whatnot.” she waved casually, her tone grew a bit disheartened, “And he’s rejoined the organization. Killing us one, by one. Must be true love.”
“Why would killing anyone mean true love? That sounds insane…”
Adala tapped on the table and took another sip of her imaginary drink. “I guess you don’t understand. As long as we exist, we are a threat to each other. To people we might love. He’s smart, moved from the bottom up and is collecting our respective soul crystals. Though why he gave you mine is beyond me. The Hadriel I know would’ve kept it to hedge his bets. He’s a sentimental fool.”
Dawn squeezed her eyes shut and thought really hard about orange juice, trying to wish it into existence. It was a dream, so why not? A cold glass of Lominsan OJ sat in front of her, condensation running down the sides. She gasped, a giddy smirk wore on her face as she giggled and wiggled happily before taking it in both hands. Adala’s brow twitched as she watched her.
“What are you? Twelve?” Adala hissed.
“Hmmmmn, what do you mean by sentimental?” she swayed at the music.
The bitter Xaela drank some more before answering, “Oh, I think he knew you were going to draw from the stone. He’s a sucker for helping the helpless. Put a little injured gaelicat with a broken wing in front of him and see just how quickly his cold demeanor melts.”
“Am I the gaelicat in this story? What does that have to do with being sentimental?” she sipped from her straw and swung her feet one after the other while sitting along the stool.
“Well, he knows I would side with the organization. It’s nothing personal, just business.” she shrugged, “Probably feels some measure of guilt for letting me die. Coward couldn’t even do it himself; he’s killing his friends and doesn’t even have the courtesy to do it in person.” she huffed a heavy sigh, “But… I don’t blame him. We’ve all seen enough of our friends die. Killing a friend, I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.”
A wry smile came from the Xaela. “Of course he hasn’t bothered to kill Rina or Carrera yet.” she grunted and rolled her eyes, “Ugh. The man’s so soft.” she lamented, “ At least Hikaru is dead, I never did like him. But, to answer your question, I think he knew you would use the crystal wrong. You’re supposed to use the memories to learn and be better, not suck in the rich aether. A part of my soul was left imprinted on this, hence the name: Soul Crystal. And you’ve absorbed that. So in some small way, I live on. And here we are; you’re sitting here, invading my private time.”
“Sounds like a personal problem.” She jabbed playfully.
“Like when you almost died without me? You really need to learn how to fight. You’re weighing everyone around you down.”
Dawn felt that one. It was personal, and as much as she was invading into Adala’s world, she in turn had access to Dawn’s. Perhaps even more.
“I… I’m trying. It hasn’t been easy these last few months…” her eyes were downcast and the mood shifted immediately.
It was Adala who laughed now. “Look at you. So soft that mere words pierce right through you. Anyway, what are you going to do about that little parasite in our chest, hmn?”
“Our chest? Anyway, I have to deal with one problem at a time. Right now it seems like I have to deal with trying to find a way to wake up.” she huffed with puffed cheeks.
“Did you want to wake up?”
“Of course, why wouldn’t I?” she asked incredulously.
Adala chuckled and bore a sadistic smile, “Okay.. let me help you with that.” She summoned her odachi to her side and violently cleaved into Dawn.
Her eyes shot open as she looked around the clinic. She could see the plants in the waiting room and recognized the familiar, sterile scent. She moved back against the pillow gingerly so as to not rattle her brain any further.
“Oh. Well, then.”

Knight: His first and foremost occupation, though the differences between being a Knight on the First and the Source carries some weight. Nevertheless it’s not unusual to see him in any major city wearing his armor and weaponry. Any gladiator or warrior, particularly those of the Paladin Order or Temple Knights, would easily be able to strike up conversation and comradery with the man and perhaps even goad him into a friendly spar.
You’re not from around here, are you?: Though he claims to be a native Gridanian it can become quite obvious there are many, many things about Eorzea (or even Hydaelan) he doesn’t know about- cities, places, histories, even local delicacies that are all seemingly brand new experiences for him. He delights in all of them of course, but for the suspicious or alert person these might all be hallmark signs he’s not what he seems.
First Native (because yes, people can and do RP characters from the First): If anyone has visited/come from the First his mannerisms and tone of voice as well as his (very outdated and old) knowledge of Old Voeburt might encourage conversation.
Shroud Dweller: When he not busy working at the Carpenters Guild in Gridania he can often be seen wandering the roads and forest paths of the Shroud, a bluebird sitting on his shoulder or flying overhead. Some can even see him in Little Solace with the sylphan folk. Feel free to say hello if you see him.

Housing Glitch Master Post
Tumblr media
(Valid as of 4.45)
There are probably more glitches out there that I am not aware of. Feel free to drop me a line if you wish to have it added in here, but please make sure it’s still currently working. Credit is there, but only of which I know of. There are a few new glitches in here, too.
Warning: This post is very long and video heavy
New Floating Glitch. Works On Almost Anything:
First  discovered: Here
Translated and shown by: Mercy & Shei Cloudbank
Also added my own easier tweaked version of the method linked above.
youtube
TLDR: From your INVENTORY, line up an item (with a table top that is lower in height to the target object to be floated) to the center of the target item. Place the item and exit housing edit asap. The target object should now be sitting on the nearest tabletop level of the object you just placed. Repeat with taller objects to float your target item even higher. To make it stick, switch to rotate mode (PS4 users switch to PC mode to do this) to rotate the object to your liking, then confirm.
Long Version: To make things simpler, and to give you maximum height available to you to float off of, I suggest you have an Open Partition, Oasis Open-shelf Bookcase, and a Riviera Wall Shelf.
The Open Partition has the lowest and highest available areas to put the Riviera Wall Shelf on compared to the other partitions, and the section of full wall that it has is narrow, serving as a sort of cross-hair. This will help you as knowing the center alignment of your target object to float is necessary for this glitch to work. Objects that are very large or odd in shape would otherwise become difficult to eyeball without this ‘cross-hair’. The available low and high areas to put the shelf on eliminates the need to have multiple objects with different heights.
The Oasis Open-shelf Bookcase’s lowest shelf is extremely low. In the original video, a Hingan Desk was used, but I noticed it doesn’t work on everything. I’m still testing as to why exactly, but it seems like some objects need a table that is extremely low for it to glitch snap to.
To begin with, the objects mentioned above must be in your inventory, and not in housing storage.
Place your target item to float where you prefer. Try to place it precisely, as you cannot move the object around. You will only be able to rotate it in the end. Otherwise you will have to move the target item and start the process all over again.
Now, you’ll need to find the center of the item. Select it to see the red cross-hair pop up. Cancel, and then stand about where the cross-hair was. Select the item again to check to make sure you’re standing at center.
Next, pull out the Open Partition and place the full wall section directly next to you. This will be aligned with the target item’s center now to serve both as a cross hair in itself to eliminate eyeball guessing as well as a surface to use the Riviera Wall Shelf off of.
It’s time for the glitch. Take your Oasis Open-shelf Bookcase, which, again, should be in your inventory and not housing storage, and have it lined up over the center of the target item to float. Which way the Bookcase is rotated normally doesn’t matter. To glitch, place the Bookcase then immediately exit housing edit as fast as you can. If done properly, the target item to float should now be bumped up and sitting on the lowest shelf of the Bookcase.
To continue the process, repeat this method with the Riviera Wall Shelf from now on. Simply place the Shelf onto the Open partition just a little above the bottom of the target item to float, exit immediately to bump the floating item up, enter house edit, remove the Riviera Wall Shelf back into inventory, and repeat until the target item is as high as you’d like it to be.
Sometimes objects will be weird in shape and block your vision from knowing where to place the Shelf. If it helps, go into First Person view and stick your head into the object to see what you’re doing. You can also use your in game UI, currently places items nearby, ect as visual rulers to help you along, too.
Once satisfied, you need to switch to Mouse’s (NOT Controller Mode’s) rotation mode to rotate the object and confirm it. You are all done and the other objects being used are now safe to remove.
To switch to this mode, go to System => Character Configuration to switch between Mouse and Controller Mode. Go back to House Edit and the UI should now be that of Mouse Mode. If you are on controller, there is a virtual mouse mode to help you along. I only know Play Station Controller’s set up: L1 + R3 (Push down on the right joystick to make it click for R3) to enable Virtual Mouse Mode. In this mode, L2 is Left-Click and R2 is Right-Click. Push L1+R3 again to exit Virtual Mouse Mode.
Floating Wall Hanging & Tabletop Objects
No idea where credit goes
youtube
TLDR: Position exactly where you would like to float the target item. The item must be a wall hanging or tabletop object, and must be placed on something removable. Keep in mind that wall hanging objects cannot be turned, so face it in the direction you want it to be before hand by turning the partition it’s on. When ready, simply disable counter top item placement, pick up the item you wish to float, then cancel to force it back to where it was. The item should now be floating and the items it was resting on/against can now be removed.
Long Version: As mentioned above, do your best to position where you want the wall hanging or table top item to float by placing them on tables, partitions, wall shelves, ect. For table top items, I typically prefer placing them on wall shelves that are attached to partitions. Partitions can clip into main walls easily and the wall shelf gives you access to nearly any height you want. If you need something lower, try an Oasis Open-shelf Bookcase or a wall shelf on an open partition.
Your target will literally be able to float anywhere you can currently place it with the help of other objects. This is useful to place objects on things you normally can’t. Some examples are atop chairs, beds, mason work stove/fireplace, and even window casements. Again, keep in mind that wall hanging objects cannot be turned, so turn it accordingly by turning the partition it hangs from.
Once ready, disable counter placement. This makes it so the object you are currently manipulating will go straight to the floor and ignore walls and tables it could possibly rest on. Pick up the target item you wish the float and cancel to force it back to where it was. Since counter placement is disabled, this glitches the item and causes it to float. Remove the items used to position the target item before re-enabling counter placement, otherwise the glitched item will want to snap back to it later.
If you would like to double check to make sure that the item is glitched before moving things around, here is an easy way to tell. Normally when you highlight an object it will turn blue. Anything attached to the object will turn blue also. A tabletop item on a table will turn blue if the table is highlighted. A wall hanging item, or maybe a tabletop item atop a shelf, will also turn blue when the partition is highlighted.
After you execute the glitch, highlight the base item your target item to float was on/against. If the target item to float does turn blue, the glitch flailed and you should pick it up again and cancel again. If the target item to float does not turn blue, then the glitch was successful and the rest of the items are safe to remove.
Storage Glitch | Placing Items Where They Shouldn’t Be
No idea where credit goes
youtube
youtube
TLDR: Start out by having your target item to glitch put into your housing storage. Take it out and position it to where you want it, but instead of simply placing it, open sub menu and select place instead. Even if the cursor is purple, the item will place itself there anyway.
Long Version: As mentioned above, have your target item to glitch stored in your housing storage first. This glitch will let you place items where they normally cannot be placed. This includes furnishings on stairs and stair landings, windows on partitions, wall items against the side of other furnishings, ect. This glitch also works outside if you wish to place something on your stone porch for instance.
However, the item to be glitched is still restricted to where the item can be placed natively. Ground furnishings must still be on the ground. This glitch will not let you float furnishings, but merely place them on ground areas that is normally not accessible. The closest acception to this rule is finding ‘flat ground’ on permanent architecture, such as above window casements, above door frames, stair railings, artistic pillars, the large open wall section on the second level to mansions, ect. If you can find a flat spot in architecture, you can place furnishings there. This is how most people create their lofts.
Anyway, from your storage, position where you would like the item to be, even if the cursor comes up purple. Don’t place it yet though. Not like you can. Instead, open the sub-menu for the item and select ‘place’. Most of the time this will cause the item to be placed anyway, regardless of the purple cursor. Keep in mind there has to technically be enough room for the item’s ‘hit box’ to fit. I say hit box since a lot of the time the range of room an item needs seems to be much smaller than what the item appears to need. If there is not enough room, the item will not place itself.
Clipping Items Through Walls or Having Items Flush Against Walls:
Found this myself although it has probably been discovered before
youtube
Have your item in your housing storage. Tick off Preview Object. Put your character flush against the wall where you wish your target item to glitch will be. Where the item drops will be directly in front of your character, but this is relative to your camera position and not where your character is facing. There are two methods of positioning, where the first method will do a better job at getting items clipped in as far as possible, but harder to position: Method 1) While standing flush to the wall and with your camera facing the wall, turn your camera while spamming the item in storage. It will keep saying unable to place item until your camera finally turns enough to give it room to drop. Put the item back into storage and tweak your camera position and re-dropping the item until you are satisfied.
Method 2) While standing flush to the wall and with your camera facing the wall, take tiny steps backwards while spamming the item in storage. It will keep saying unable to place item until you are finally far from the wall enough to give it room to drop. Put the item back into storage and tweak your distance from the wall until you are satisfied.
Remember, these glitches will let you put together almost anything you can dream up. Don’t restrict yourself into using furniture with how they were originally meant to be used. Take different items and combine them to alter one another. A favourite example is to just barely clip a book case over a window to give the window an entirely different look.
If you’d like, you could even combine glitches if need be. For instance, if you wished to precisely place a false window somewhere via place from storage glitch onto a partition. You could then do the disable counter top placement glitch to force the window to float on its’ own.
Be creative and build to your heart’s desire.

Prompt #13 Wax
Clicks echoed through the room as Ruby taps her glass of wine against her teeth as she mulls over what she has learned. Adrian's report had been thorough, more than she had expected when the woman had pitched her skills back in Kugane in exchange for safe passage to Eorzea. Glancing to her companion on the couch, she can easily notice Moriarty's conceited surprise at their talented guest and her trove of information.
"Please, sit. I think the evening was tiring enough for you, dancing for these rich assholes while paying attention to their every move." Ruby motions lazily to the chair facing her and pours a glass for her halcyon bird who accepts it with both hands, a delicate habit shared by Far Eastern citizens.
"No more than my former work, I assure you. Does this report meet your needs?" The stiff backed Au'Ra continues nervously, her tongue catching on some Eorzean vowels in a fascinating manner. "I have already been hired for another event in Costa Del Sol, if this is not enough-"
Ruby glances to her right only to be met by Moriarty's raised eyebrow and chuckles discreetly, therefore cutting off Adrianel's monologue, her fingers adjusting the delicate flowers clipped to her hair as her ears twitch merrily.
"You have provided more information than I could have expected from you. Truly. Your debt is more than paid in full."
A pouch of gil is placed gently in front of the younger woman before Moriarty leans back against the couch once more as Ruby leans forward, a glint in her eye at the thought of what they could accomplish together.
"If you do plan to attend this next event, I would have you do the same as today, come report to me everything you hear or notice related to the Syndicate and their business associates and you will be paid generously. Are you interested, Adrian?"
Ever the polite and discreet woman, the Au'ra's long golden sleeves barely sway as she picks up the pouch, weighting it once before tucking it away with a small undecipherable smile.
"I would very much be pleased to work for you again, Jewel."
Jewel. The dancer liked her secrets, and though she clearly knew Ruby's name, she preferred to use nicknames when addressing them. She had requested Ruby do the same for her, as she had had to give Ruby her full name to be granted passage on the conjurer's airship, a request Ruby found easy to fulfill.
With a nod, Ruby and Moriarty rise up, Moriarty picking up the glasses now empty of La Noscean wine as both women accompany Adrian upstairs, a low conversation shared between the Eorzean women.
"Should we threaten to go to his wife or to her husband?"
"Depends on what we want from them, the mines or the land? He has more to lose as she is the one who inherited the land."
The exchange is cut off as they exit the house, the waxing moon shining upon the three weary women. Ruby's back pops as she stretches her arms up, eager to get back to Phiros, who was most likely asleep at this hour, and join him in bed. Their drunken evening and consequent morning cuddles had only left her hungering for more time with her beloved and she could not wait to find her way into his arms again. Her lazy movement nearly dislodges the Kanzashi, the flowery hair ornament Phiros had gifted her back in Kugane, Adrian's eyes flickering to it as she bows.
"Once more I would thank you for the opportunity you have given me, and wish you and your fiancé joy and happiness."
Ruby blinks as words fail to come to her mind, her mouth opening and closing soundlessly. "My fi-... My fiancé?"
The Hingan Au'ra points to her hair ornament with a blushing smile, embarassed at what was clearly a blunder, when she knew better than to pry into an employer's personal life.
"I apologize if it was not meant to be known, I could not help but remark on the beautiful engagement present your fiancé bestowed upon you. It has been one of the most sought after Kanzashi in Kugane for the past season. Perhaps... A piece of advice, if you'll allow me? If you do not wish to make your engagement known, you should avoid wearing it so obviously."
Wide pink eyes blink owlishly between Adrian's embarassed expression and Moriarty's puzzled smile. The older woman sighs as her employer is so flustered and confused that she loses her words and takes charge of the situation.
"Adrian, you read Hingan I assume? Ruby has received this present from her fiancé a week ago along with a note she has yet to decipher. Unfortunately, Hingan to Eorzean tomes are rare and the one we found has yet to be delivered. Perhaps you could translate it for us?"
Gobsmacked at Adrian's comment on her hair pin, Ruby turns away from the two women after getting nudged by Moriarty, to pull out the handwritten note she has been carrying around in her breast pocket ever since she'd returned from her journey. She unfolds the crinkled paper carefully, smoothing it out with her hands before handing it over to the Xaela, ears folded back anxiously as Ruby stares at the girl so intensely one would think she was attempting to kill her with her mind.
In the back of her head, a part of her feels guilty that she is not deciphering the note herself, yet a louder more vehement part is screaming at her that it might really be a marriage proposal! In which case... Twelve help her, she had walked around for a week without giving Phiros an answer and on top of it all, she had barged in yesterday and demanded they buy a house together... without answering his proposal first.
A loud silence settles upon Ruby's pathway as she waits breathlessly for Adrian's translation. The Au'ra's tail sways gently in the breeze as she reads the note carefully before smiling up to Ruby as she hands her the note back in a two handed grip.
"Will you marry me? Is what the note says."
Mind whirling too loudly for Ruby to care about the embarrassing way she had been carrying the note, she folds it back along the same edges and places it inside her breast pocket. Her feet take her halfway out of the yard before she remembers to say goodbye to the two women and marches towards Phiros.
He wants to marry me. Despite everything that happened, he wishes to marry me. He who could not even think of it after his late wife's death wanted to marry her, Ruby French, greed incarnated.
"HE PROPOSED TO ME!" Elated, Ruby's voice echoes through the silent Goblet streets as her fast walk turns into a race towards her lover.
Barging through the café's dark upper floor, Ruby makes her way towards the basement, where Phiros' futon laid, her steps now quieter as she thinks on how to answer Phiros. Her cheeks ache from the unshakeable smile she has been sporting for the past thirty minutes, her eyes adjusting to the moonlight basement until they find a Phiros like shape curled up under white blankets on the wooden loft, and the familiar hissed purr that betrayed his heavy sleep.
Kanzashi placed upon the dinning table, her boots are kicked off as she climbs up the stairs, staring down at her lover, her fiancé... her future husband? So innocent and beautiful as the moonlight glowed on his pale skin, his dark purple hair fanning around his head, the streaked tips covering his chest.
Hovering over him with her hands and knees, Ruby nuzzles his cheeks with a low purr as she calls out his name. "Phiros? Darling, wake up." Her action failing to rouse him, her teeth are now teasing his neck, suckling the skin to mark his pale skin red. "Phi?" Only a groan answers her as Phiros turns to lie on his back, tail flopping over between his legs.
Fine. She knew just the thing to awaken him. Undressing herself first, Ruby pushes the covers off Phiros, watching goosebump cover his skin as soon as the cold air hits him, before leaning down, nipping at his mouth and licking his plump lips while her hands slither inside his pants and tease his soft length to a hardened state.
"Phiros, my love. There's something I need to tell you. Please wake up for me."
Smirking as the Au'ra writhes and sighs between her thighs as his cock hardens, Ruby's kisses turn hungry and punishing as she guides his cock against her folds, grinding her hips against his before angling his cock to breach her.
"Phi, wake up please. I need you." Her lips brush over his right horn as she whispers wantonly. "I need my husband." She cries out as she takes in his cock inside her wet cunt as she awaits her lover's reaction. She had not dared hope to marry him, nor had she wanted to back in the earlier days of their relationship.
Nonetheless, after five years together she could not pretend the thought had never crossed her mind. She had imagined for them a Hingan wedding, a closed ceremony with only a few select guests that would seg her apart from his previous marriage in Eorzea. Perhaps, her marriage could be seen as lesser by the fact that she would be his second wife. I plan to be his last, she thinks as her tongue breaches his mouth, her fingers digging into his warm skin as Phiros comes to consciousness underneath her.

“E-eh? What? I-I, uh...!” stammered the portly, blond raen, midway through getting clothed that she might don her uniform armour. Having just joined the Crystarium guard not a month or two ago, not a year after their fated arrival in Lakeland in a world wholly unfamiliar to them, Asashio no Haruhi, or “Holly Morningtide”, as she’d begun calling herself in an effort not to have undue attention drawn, had been reporting for regular training exercises.
Of course, there was but a single delay of late - or, more accurately a pair of them - in that, following a peculiar series of events, Dahlia, having gone by the moniker “Odellia Morningtide” in the Crystarium, her wife for nearly two years by then, had borne not just one child, but a pair of twins: Suisei Soleil and Ryūsei Lunette - or, translated from their Hingan first and Ishgardian middle names, Comet Sun and Meteor Moon - or simply “Siana” and “Rhiannon” to those in the Crystarium.
“I said,” the dark-haired witchling sighed, looking somewhat impatient, her Ishgardian accent still somewhat strong, “I need to change Suisei. Ryuu is done, but I need you to keep an eye on her. Here, take the baby.” Once more, Dahlia offered forth the infant, the beginnings of platinum-blonde wisps starting to show in number, uneven scales and tiny nubs of horns having grown in just enough, and curious violet eyes wide open peering around as she burbled idly.
“I-, um, a-alright,” Hali said softly, looking between her tired wife and the two half-auri children, one of whom, with nearly a full head of short, dark hair and dark brown eyes, her own scales and horns starting to grow in just enough to be noticeable, as well, lying atop a pad set down for changing the two.
“It won’t kill you, stars,” Dahlia quipped with a smirk, Hali gingerly accepting Ryūsei into her arms, carefully cradling her, “Besides. I think you’ve died to worse, non? You’re not allowed to leave for good, now, if you could.”
This got a snort and a roll of the eyes out of the self-proclaimed “immortal,” the noise seeming to amuse Ryuu, who began laughing and grabbing at the raen’s long blond-and-silver locks, causing her to wince. Her retort forgotten, all she could do was let out a string of, “Ow, ow, ow...!” This, of course, only served to amuse the baby in her arms all the more, causing her to swing her arms, and, by extension, the hand yanking Hali’s hair.
“Have fun~,” Dahlia cooed tauntingly in response, clearly enjoying not being the only one to be taking care of the girls, for once.
The time spent humouring just one of the twins was an experience far too foreign for Hali, having never really dealt with a child in all her adult life. She generally harboured fears and anxieties that caused her to avoid them whenever she could, always worried that she’d do something wrong and, in so doing, face the wrath of the child’s caregiver(s). Now, however, she was one of those caregivers. Worse, Dahlia - the one woman in all of the world who she feared to cross more than any, mostly for fear of losing her love, though she wouldn’t often say so aloud to any other - was the other. Now, holding a child of her own, she found herself unable to really flee the situation, instead trying her best to embrace the situation, though as cautiously as she did the baby herself.
“W-what do I do...?” she asked the witchling as she sat on one of the nearby chairs in their apartment, the blinds drawn just enough so that the horrible, eternal light of the world outside did as little harm as possible. Ryūsei gave her hair another giggly yank. “Ow.”
“How should I know?” was Dahlia’s response. Preoccupied with changing a dirty diaper on the other girl, all she could do was roll her eyes, hair tied back into a tight ponytail to keep it from her face, especially as she gagged a little. It had been taking some getting used to, to be certain, but the reaction was not quite as bad after a few months of it. “You seem to be doing a fine enough job. If she’s happy, she’s happy.”
“Isn’t there - ow - something - ow! - I can do besides let her - ow, ow! - scalp me barehanded?”
“Ugh. Fine, fine. You picked up a couple toys from the neighbours, non? Find one of those.”
Rising with Ryūsei in her arms, Hali, “ow”-ing the whole way across the room, carefully shifted the little girl into one arm while grabbing for a small rubber rings with various nubs on it, rattling the bits and bobs inside to draw attention.
“How about this, sweetie?” she asked Ryuu with a pained smile, her tone as sweet as she could make it, sounding almost obnoxious were she not talking to a baby, “Try waving this around instead - nnnngh, ow ow - i-instead of momma’s hair, huh?”
This, thankfully, grabbed Ryuu’s attention, and violet eyes immediately diverted their gleeful gaze to stare at the little toy in her mother’s hand. No soon did she sees and hear it that she decided that it must be hers, and, releasing Hali’s hair, began making grabby hands, cooing incoherent baby-speak in what could only be a demand for the thing.
“You know,” Dahlia spoke up, sounding amused, “You’re better with them thank you think. I don’t know why you’re so nervous about it. After all, your parents were wonderful, quite unlike mine own. Ah, there. Much better.” With a small incantation, she lifted the diaper, only to have it immediately sucked through a dark tear in reality, opening by the woman’s magic, summarily sucking the dirty diaper into the void.
Strange, they had both thought, how doing so never seemed to attract voidsent. At first, it had been done as an experiment once Dahlia was capable of safely casting again. When nothing occurred, time and time again, the witchling had seen fit to start tossing their garbage into it, as if to continue their insults to the very world of nothingness itself as a replacement for killing its invasive, ravenous denizens.
Handing the toy to Ryuu, who immediately began bludgeoning her poor mother in the horn with it, Hali took on a brief dazed look before angling her head to that it was impacting her cheek instead and muttered, “Really? She’s really trying to kill me, I-I’m, uh... pretty sure.” At that, the toy impacted her glasses, knocking them clear of her face and sending Dahlia into a fit of laughter, then Suisei, seeing her mother laughing, as well. After a moment, Hali could only laugh, as well, a softening smile on her face as Ryuu began, instead, chewing on what was until moments ago her weapon of choice.
“...all the things we’ve faced,” Hali muttered, laughing dying down to a soft sniff of amusement, Dahlia walking out from the small bed loft to regard her warmly, “And this is... probably going to be the, uh... s-strangest. And most difficult. Heh.”
“You’re telling me,” was the brunette’s only reply, though it was hardly resentful, the look on her face speaking of a happiness that served to melt just a little more of Hali’s apprehension, “But we’ll make it through this, as with all else. I have faith, mes etoiles. You’ve given me everything I’ve ever wanted and more. We will face this together. No matter where or when or how.”
With a deep breath, the erstwhile shinobi could only look down at the little girl in her arms and smile, saying, “...you’re right. It’d be, ah... awful of me to shirk any of it now. And... a-and I wouldn’t dream of it. Not now. Not ever.”
Looking at the beaming woman and the two tiny children that had been brought into the strange, apocalyptic world in which they’d found themselves, Hali could only feel that apprehension further melting away, little by little, and she cast her gaze out toward the light-bathed landscape outside. She couldn’t be the hunter, the killer, she was any longer. Her honour, she was taught, was to her duty, and to those who depended on her. Now, not only did Dahlia rely on her, despite her considerable power and magicks, but they had two daughters - their daughters, of their flesh and blood and aether - that had to, beyond all else, be assured of a life that could be safe, secure, and, above all... happy.
A new duty called for a new role, and, hers was, above all, as a protector.

For tables I used floor mat>oriental round table or hingan side board> riviera wall shelf or wooden loft depending. Each table will be a bit diff so you may have to finagle things about and see what works better for each step.
Thank you so much! I tried it out and now i wanna float all the things
