MOUNT JEROME CEMETERY 8 DECEMBER 2023 - FIRST SESSION
Since its foundation in 1836, it has witnessed over 300,000 burials. Originally an exclusively Protestant cemetery, Roman Catholics have also been buried there since the 1920s.
I USED A DJI POCKET 3 Initially I decided not to include a sound track but that idea did not really work but I must admit that it is close to impossible to find appropriate background music for a visit to a graveyard. Anyway, I selected the music because it is what my Grand Aunt liked. Then Mount Jerome for the protestants. Funerals all over the world everywhere every minute. Shovelling them…

Seattle playlist
Tumblr media
Seattle and Twin Peaks, all in one playlist. This is the one! Think of it as an vacation in Seattle, you spend time in the city, you dine at the Salmon House, you get around town with this playlist. Then, you head out to Snoqualmie and see the Twin Peaks filming locations, grab a bite at Twede;s Cafe and go up Crystal Mountain, coffee at a Drive thru Big Foot Java and head down to Mt St Helens, boat ride out on Puget Sound and see members of Wolves in the Throne Room doing a forest dance in the Olympic Nat Forest! This is that Seattle playlist! Enjoy! For the songs to listen to, click here at the link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-iHPcxymC193HJs9M2yvjz03VeeChqxt

AND THE COLOUR DRAINED AWAY
The first time I came across ADW was an example of Paint-A-Box street art on Arran Quay back in 2012 however one of my favourites is "Deep Love" which I photographed near the Ramada Hotel in Belfast which featured in the film Belfast.

A WALK ALONG GROVE ROAD ON THE SOUTH BANK OF THE GRAND CANAL
The Grand Canal is the southernmost of a pair of canals that connect Dublin, in the east of Ireland, with the River Shannon in the west, via Tullamore and a number of other villages and towns, the two canals nearly encircling Dublin’s inner city. Its sister canal on the Northside of Dublin is the Royal Canal. The last working cargo…

A SELECTION OF OBELISKS
A SELECTION OF OBELISKS
MOUNT JEROME CEMETERY – A SELECTION OF OBELISKS
An obelisk is a tall, four-sided, narrow tapering monument which ends in a pyramid-like shape or pyramidion at the top. Different ancient cultures built them to symbolise a god, an important astronomical event, or to commemorate the achievements of an important person.
The point on an obelisk is there to break up any storm clouds which pass…

GRESHAM FAMILY VAULT
THE GRESHAM FAMILY “VAVLT” [A CASE OF TAPHOPHOBIA]
The pedestal on top of the tapered walls once supported a bell with a chain running from it into the vault. This was erected with the purpose of allowing a lady who was interred (and who had a fear of being buried alive) to ring the bell if she awoke.
Fear of being buried alive is the fear of being placed in a grave while still alive as a…

COLOURFUL DOORS
EXAMPLES OF COLOURFUL DOORS ON LEINSTER ROAD IN D6
When I was young in 1960’s Rathmines was known as “Flatland”. There were many large houses on Leinster Square, on Leinster Road and Grosvenor Square where students would stay and many civil servants lived in low cost digs. Digs is the type of accommodation where a lodger stays in a family home and pays for lodgings as well as board. The food…
