Exciting news for all Hayden Young fans!! We will be celebrating Hayden's birthday this year, on 29th September. It will be a one-day affair (as we are introducing some new appreciation weeks close to that date) but we do want to make the most of it and celebrate the amazing character that is Hayden Young!!

For the prompt Dream Wedding! My main Hayden is the Joker personality, so I wanted to manifest that:

mysterious - only close friend guests

rebellious - she wouldn't buy into the wedding industry so easily-- non-white dress, non-white cake

humorous - probably pops up in the vows & ofc smushing the cake everywhere

logical - despite being an inexpensive ceremony, i think hayden would still go with a cohesive theme. stars to match her job

Hi! This is my little silly submission, one of my favorite Hayden Young (F!Rebel Asian Hayden) quotes. I really really like this one as it happens after all her journey struggling with a lot of mixed feelings, (presumably) PTSD and her own evolving in a sincerity moment with MC (F! in my case) before the final battle w Eros.

I wanted to put on some nostalgic but also joyfull yellows, a butterfly for the evolving and some cheesy notes of course. 🌟🌈✨💫.

Hayden Appreciation Day!

For @haydenyoungappreciationweek, (hosted by @lizzybeth1986 and @sazanes) I wanted to do a series of headcanons surrounding some of the suggested prompts. My Hayden is a Black woman who changes to her name to Tess and my Perfect Match MC is named Jae.

Tess's future

Tess spends the first few years after Perfect Match living independently and exploring more about herself. She helps Keegan and Psyche gain self-determination for the rest of the Matches. Harley… is a more difficult case, but she refuses to give up on her. Down the line, she, Jae, and Sloane all move into a house together. They almost convinced Nadia and Steve to move in as well, but the two were very keen on having their own private space. Damien also preferred living alone and Khaan was focused on keeping Hamza stable in one place. The house has at least two guest rooms, one of which essentially becomes Alana's room when she needs a place to stay. Sloane follows in her mother's footsteps and the trio decide to have a baby. They name her Ursa, because bears are sacred to Artemis and no one in this family will turn down a Greek Mythology reference. Ursa's middle name is Mae because everyone in this family also respects the first Black woman in space. She's spoiled sweet and the epitome of the phrase "it takes a village."

Scrapbook

Tess loves photography, but she has no patience for organizing photos. Luckily, Sloane will take absolutely any excuse to make a file directory and Jae has a mountain of stationery supplies. After being together for years, their house has a scrapbook in about every corner. There's an entire bookshelf solely dedicated to Ursa.

Birthday/Road Trip/Bucket List

Tess is an Adventurer, so all her birthdays revolve around trips. She's the official photographer, Sloane is the itinerary master, and Jae is there to make sure everyone actually relaxes. When Ursa gets older, she becomes the official playlist mixer and snack picker.

Kim Washington

With Tess, Sloane, and Jae united at the hip, there was no way Kim would ever disappear from Tess's life. Especially after Ursa is born, there's frequent mother-mother-mother-daughter trips to Washington, D.C. to see Nana Kim.

Tess also spend a lot of one-on-one time with Kim. She's intent on forming her own relationship with Kim.

Work Day

Tess's invented job under Eros was being a photographer, but she decided to pursue it legitimately after the events of Perfect Match. Her first photo series revolves around working with Psyche to bring Matches into the public eye.

Pizza!

Tess loves pineapple on pizza. Fight me. It causes wars among the Argonauts to this day. She also branches out to more outrageous pizza pairings, partly to experiment and partly to see everyone's disgusted reactions.

KHSFYITESFJKHKSD ok i DO understand the point being made and how the immutability of comics canon events seems to depend largely on how much a reader liked a given plot more than anything else, but Jason is like the WORST example you could use. Yes! The fans did literally kill him it was put to PUBLIC VOTE! Writing always involves the creation of conflict but Jim Starlin did NOT make that call unilaterally the crowbar IS in the reader's hand (or at least the voter's). Especially as modern comics increasingly lean on the 4th wall and include metatext as a plot point, YES there is ABSOLUTELY a reading where the writer and audience are as much "characters" as the city of Gotham itself even if we never show on-panel.
