I happened to look at another gifset of yours (https://www.tumblr.com/sailor-arashi/743132247161536512) where the Frieren clone attacks the examinees, and I think they repeated that animation style for Laofen for just 1? frame (85/151)

I saw the tags and yeah, removing the lineart and letting the color fill spill out is a cool way to do the effect, but I've certainly never noticed it in the other scene. Let's check!

You're right, she does just pop into appearance with the same blurred lines indicating her teleport spell just went off. But, you know, I set it to skip every other frame when creating big complicated gifs like this to make it fit the file size limits (and I hate splitting continuous movement across multiple gifs) so let's restore all the frames and isolate just Laufen:

That's a pretty cool little detail. I never noticed it before even when making the gifs. Nicely spotted!

Thank you for appreciating the gifs! Frieren quite rapidly became one of my favorite series of all time, so I'm happy to hear that I played some small part in spreading the word :D
