“The way Francesco Artibani disses the Winx Club community after they call out on the whitewashing of Aisha and Flora and replies back to them “It’s just a printing error” really ticks me off. Is he some kind of Butch Hartman???”

Duck Avenger (Paperinik) and Double Duck - Kay K and Lyla Lay meet Donald's family - Duckvember - Agent, Adventurous and Curious Duck (Ducks)
I haven't drawn Duck Avenger and Double Duck for a long time, and I will be doing more of this in the future. Of course, it's not the first time I've drawn them together, you can check out my previous drawing from almost two years ago: https://ducklooney.tumblr.com/post/672690086039715840/duck-avenger-paperinik-pk-and-double-duck-pk
I certainly drew as a redraw from the genius artist Paolo Mottura who drew as a poster for the Pk Timecrime DD comic from 2016 which was a great crossover of Double Duck (secret super spy Donald working for The Agency) and Duck Avenger (PKNA version, again Donald as a superhero) where they fight against The Organization and criminals. Yes, this comic besides being drawn by Paolo Mottura, this comic was written by Francesco Artibani. Yes, Lyla Lay (journalist and android who comes from the future and works for the Time Police against The Organization) and Kay K (Arianne Konnery, that is, Arianna Adelaide and a well-known partner of Double Duck and works for The Agency) meet together. By the way, I recommend reading this comic as it's great, especially if you're a fan of Duck Avenger and Double Duck.
Yes, the first drawing is a redraw from the poster I mentioned, where they are fighting to protect Duckburg from the villains (although my background is not very good for me unfortunately, sorry). The second drawing is the meeting of Kay K and Lyla Lay, who are Donald's partners with Donald's family, primarily his nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie. Yes, I love when they are Donald's love partners (sorry Daisy), since they act together, and understand him a lot, even though Donald doesn't reveal his secret identities to them. Yes, I drew more in the Quack Pack version (and it's also part of my Quack Pack AU), since I think the dynamics and action, as well as some extreme conditions and adventures from the Italian comics are almost Quack Pack, with Quack Pack being more comedy. Yes, there's also Daisy Duck, who is definitely mad at Donald for bringing those beautiful ladies to their house. Yeah, as good as the Quack Pack version of Daisy is, she somehow can't get the jealousy out of her, it's still typical Daisy that she doesn't like competition, but she'd definitely be on great terms with them, especially Lyla, since they're both reporters. And as for HDL, I think they would get along great and go on adventures with them, with Huey going with Kay and Donald, and Dewey and Louie with Lyla Lay and Donald.
I hope you like these drawings and these ideas and feel free to like and reblog, but don't use these ideas without my permission and my mention. And don't put in the SHIP tag as far as between Donald's nephews and Kay and Lyla, since they are still children, despite being teenagers, and Kay and Lyla are adults. You can SHIP (OTP) between Donald and Kay as well as between Donald and Lyla, since they are definitely related. Thank you!

Peg Leg Pete is gone.
Yes, he won't feature in future stories on Topolino since this week. How did it happen? Spoilers ahead.
In the story Return to Ducktopia, the second installment of the Ducktopia saga, Pegleg Pete sacrified himself for a greater good, resulting in him being banished from Earth and trapped in a parallel universe.
Tumblr media
Of course the other Disney characters will eventually embark in a new adventure to retrieve him, but, until then, no story featuring him will be published. This hiatus is set to last for months.
Ducktopia is a fantasy saga starring both ducks and mice, written by reknown novelist Licia Troisi and Disney legend Francesco Artibani, drawn by artist Francesco D'Ippolito.
The decision is in line with the more continuity driven approach to the Disney universe supported by editor-in-chief Alex Bertani.
Here an interview to the authors:
youtube
Fun fact: Francesco Artibani, who appears to have fathered the choice, is responsible for some excellent killings in Disney comics, such as the Raider and One from Pk and Ghiro from W.i.t.c.h.
Two of those were eventually reverted by himself in some magnificent storylines; this one is likely to follow along.

Who appears the most in Scrooge's Last Adventure?
Tumblr media
Alright so I counted this one a while ago, but I never posted it. When I started the counting top 100 stories project my plan was to post this one when I reached it on the top 100. But I've decided not to do that, because I want to post this now... So this is technically an out of order entry in my counting the Inducks top 100 stories.
Anyways, there are spoilers for the story. It's great, you should give it a read!
Quackfaster - 5 (panels) / 0.82% (of the story)
Gus - 7 / 1.15%
Gladstone - 10 / 1.64%
Fethry - 12 / 1.97%
Brigitta - 13 / 2.14%
Gyro - 16 / 2.63%
Daisy - 21 / 3.45%
Quackmore - 23 / 3.78%
Grandma - 24 / 3.95%
Fermies - 40 / 6.58%
Terries - 64 / 10.53%
Beagle Boys - 72 / 11.84%
HDL - 85 / 13.98%
Magica - 112 / 18.42%
Glomgold - 114 / 18.75%
Rockerduck - 132 / 21.71%
Donald - 269 / 44.24%
Scrooge - 299 / 49.18%
(Total - 608)
(My thoughts and additional stats below!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interesting how both Magica and HDL's percentages get lower for every part. Also I didn't count Jeeves, he's great but he only appeared in like 4 panels and I was too lazy to count him for everything!
Anyways, let's look at the entry and exit stats!
Beagle Boys - 1 (0.16%) / 608 (100%)
Rockerduck - 6 (0.99%) / 596 (98.03%)
Magica - 11 (1.81) / 347 (57.07%)
Glomgold - 14 (2.3%) / 596 (98.03%)
Quackmore - 24 (3.95%) / 602 (99.01%)
Scrooge - 24 (3.95%) / 608 (100%)
Donald - 26 (4.28%) / 608 (100%)
HDL - 27 (4.28%) / 608 (100%)
Grandma - 181 (29.77%) / 608 (100%)
Quackfaster - 192 (31.58%) / 603 (99.18%)
Gladstone - 197 (32.4%) / 607 (99.84%)
Daisy - 197 (32.4%) / 608 (100%)
Fethry - 197 (32.4%) / 608 (100%)
Gus - 197 (32.4%) / 608 (100%)
Brigitta - 198 (32.57%) / 604 (99.34%)
Gyro - 198 (32.57%) / 604 (99.34%)
Jubal - 198 (32.57%) / 607 (99.84%)
Terries - 355 (58.39%) / 586 (96.38%)
Fermies - 362 (59.54%) / 586 (96.38%)
Tumblr media
So very smart Atobibsters might have noticed that I have slightly cheated here. As Magica does actually appear in the background flying in the final panel, but I thought those stats were boring so I didn't count them for the entry and exit stats!
So for a story called "Scrooge's Last Adventure", there is surprisingly little Scrooge. He is still the character who appears the most, but he doesn't even appear for the majority of the story. I still think he is the main character, though, as even when he isn't around he is the main focus of conversation.

On the W.i.t.c.h. vs Winx Club plagiarism case
Tumblr media
According to this forum user that has spoken to active Disney Italy artists, Francesco Artibani took the character designs sheets and proposed them to Rainbow before the official W.i.t.c.h. comic came out.
Officially, Artibani has said that he was called by Rai "to make sure Winx was not too similar to W.i.t.c.h.; Disney was fine with me working on it". That's odd, since he's credited as a writer on Winx, not as a consulent or anything like that (there is a fashion consulent on the team, for example).
The W.i.t.c.h. project started in '97, while Winx started in '99, both while Sailor Moon Sailor Stars was done airing in Italy. The Magica Bloom Pilot was approved in 2001 by RAI but Iginio Straffi decided to scrap it in 2002, albeit parts of it were salvaged (according to his Rimini Comix interview, likely for episode 1). If W.i.t.c.h.'s italian 2001 release influenced the pilot's retooling is unknown, though storywise Winx was already set in stone according to Iginio. It was only the artstyle that needed retooling.

Timeline by user Iku
It's curious though that Magica Bloom did not have a diverse cast, as Flora and Musa were white. Musa was also redesigned the most.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To make the spy rumours worse, official Winx art taking poses from W.i.t.c.h. does exist:

Various comparisons from a russian website
Tumblr media
It's also well known by credits that Disney and Rainbow had freelance artists working left and right. The italian comic and animation industry at the time was just very small.
The lawsuit Disney made focused on the brand, genre and name instead of investigating further on character designs and ideas being tossed around despite NDAs. Could it be that Disney didn't want to make enemies of their best writers and artists?
Afterall, Artibani still works for both Rainbow and Disney to this day and so do many others... despite claiming of having left for 6 years in 2004. While working on the W.i.t.c.h. cartoon and Monster Allergy (while it was under Disney).
Either way, don't be shocked, as this is common in magical girls. Wedding Peach was one of the earliest Sailor Moon "clones" made by ex staff of the series and Izumi Todo's team at Toei constantly references itself and other properties with Precure and each new series even in official art (Tokyo Mew Mew? Doremi? Sailor Moon? Precure A La Mode has it all!).
