Italian: Paperinik. Compound of Paperino (Donald) + Diabolik (the italian comic character from whom basically every evil/dark/anti-hero character that came after stole the 'k' from XD).

Actually... full name Paperinik il Diabolico Vendicatore (literally Paperinik the Diabolical Avenger)! :D

I think we should we should start a compilation with all of this Guys different Names in different languages! Who's with me?

Gotta call a spade a spade: Miller's cover for Wolverine #1 is one of the ugliest covers ever made. I'm sorry, it's iconic and I respect it for what it is, but I still don't like it 😅

(But I'm really happy to learn that this is gonna be a full original duck story and not just a variant. I very much appreciate this new trend going on oversea. Marvel and ducks... I'm totally on board! :D)

I was about to pre-order Uncle Scrooge and the Infinity Dime and I found out some interesting things.

First of all: there are MORE variant covers yet to be revealed!!!

There's a variant by JOE QUEASADA!!! One by FRANK MILLER!!! 😱 And one by SCOTTIE YOUNG!!! <3

And apparently Dell'Otto's (sigh), Campbell's, Simonson's and Quesada's are ratio variants. Respectively 1:10, 1:50, 1:100 and 1:25.

Also, McNiven's variant is a bit more expensive (11,25$), probably because is FOIL 😃

They're all very well established comic book artists, but no: they don't usually draw ducks (basically no one in America does ^^'''). Each one of them gave their own personal interpretation of the character in their own style.

Yes, some of these covers may look a bit odd 'cause we're so used to the italian Disney school style (Scarpa, Cavazzano, Freccero... which basically monopolizes the entire Disney comics production), and to the northern european/Egmont one, but it's so good to see other great artists grappling with our beloved ducks!!

Which is what makes these covers so great imho. Marvel took their spearhead artists and had them draw Scrooge McDuck. On the cover of an original comic made for the American market! This is something unheard of since Carl Barks!

I mean... we have Uncle Scrooge drawn by John Romita Jr.!!! Who cares if it's not perfect!! 😍

(Also, some of them remind me of some old Topolino covers.)
