Extraction 2 (15): It's like the first one but even more Extractionny.
#onemannsmovies review of "Extraction 2" (2023). #Extraction 2. Action sequel that was a bit too overblown for me. Prefer the original. 3.5/5.
A One Mann’s Movies review of “Extraction 2” (2023). I only just watched the first “Extraction” on Netflix, so watching “Extraction 2” has given me a chance to properly compare the two. Bob the Movie Man Rating: Plot Summary: After his near-death experience in Dhaka, Tyler Rake has a slow and painful path to recovery. But once there and in ‘retirement’ in the wilds of Austria, he is tempted…

Basilic Fly Studio's Glass Mastery: The Cinematic Fight Scene in Extraction 2
When it comes to crafting jaw-dropping action sequences like this, the magic behind the scenes is just as important as what we see on-screen. VFX plays a pivotal role in creating those intense moments, and here's how they nailed it:
1. Realism Meets Safety: Safety is paramount, and using real glass for stunts can be risky. VFX companies like Basilic Fly Studio employ cutting-edge VFX to seamlessly blend real actors with digital glass, ensuring the safety of the cast and crew while maintaining realism.
2. Precision and Timing: Every shard of glass breaking had to sync perfectly with the actors' movements. The artists meticulously choreographed each fracture, creating a symphony of destruction that looked flawless on camera.
3. Dynamic Camera Work: The camera angles and movements in this scene were nothing short of dynamic. The VFX team ensure every camera move synchronized flawlessly with the digitally created chaos, resulting in an edge-of-your-seat experience.
4. Emotional Impact: Beyond the technical wizardry, VFX can amplify the emotional impact of a scene. The  artists used their expertise to enhance the tension and drama, making the glass fight an unforgettable cinematic moment.

Extraction 2 (2023)
★★★★★★★★☆☆
This one is far better than the first. I enjoyed this. Also, I like how this is standalone, I can forget Part 1 and just assume Part 2 is the first movie in this franchise.
Having said that, [my] expectations are high for Part 3. It should be equal to or better than Part 2 at this point.

Movie Review...Extraction 2
Tumblr media
(3.8/5) I can't give Extraction 2 a 4/5 simply because I like the first one slightly more. The sequel does all the same things as the first but the antagonist was better in the first. Chris' character met his rival, his equal in the first film and he did not let up (almost like the terminator) and that was extremely entertaining. This film gave a little more screen time to other people on the team which was good to see but the plot was predictable.  The action is still superb and will have you on the edge of your seat.
Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in EXTRACTION 2, the sequel to Netflix's blockbuster action film EXTRACTION. After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.
