His comrades fought beside him
Van Owen and the rest
But of all the Thompson Gunners
Roland was the best
So the CIA decided
They wanted Roland dead
That son-of-a-bitch Van Owen
Blew off Roland's Head

Excitable Boy was his best album, but I am very partial to Mr. Bad Example also.

Sitting around waiting for a predicted ice storm to commence whilst listening to Warren Zevon. It’s a mood for sure.

Excitable Boy - Warren Zevon
If you have heard any song from this album, it's probably "Werewolves of London", but I feel like this album and Warren Zevon's music in general is more than just a song you might play around Halloween. There does happen to be another song that's good for a Halloween playlist, "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner", but other than that there are songs about a variety of things, a bandleader, some rich kid who's dad sends lawyers guns and money, and the title song us about a guy who's absolutely messed up. My favorite song is "Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner."
