i legitimately believe everymanhybrid to be one of the most meaningful artistic statements of the 21st century no joke zero hyperbole. it owes as much to literary works such as house of leaves as it does the consciousness of the late 2000s early 2010s internet, and uses its extremely unique disjointed narrative structure to authentically portray what its like to be traumatized, what it means to be a family, what it means to even be fiction, tackles difficult and heavy themes such as forgiveness, the evil of man, loss, voyeurism, csa, etc. with a tact that was unheard of in the internet horror space of the time. not only all this, and its easy to overlook it now with how much it inspired subsequent works, but it was GROUNDBREAKING as an alternate reality game at the time. this level of audience participation in such a complex, ambitious narrative was practically never attempted on this level. it ran where other args walked, and with that aforementioned ambition kind of began to outgrow the slenderman mythos it sprouted from in scope, its that original of a work. all this from dudes with next to zero budget and a dream who read house of leaves and watched marble hornets once. fucking unreal
