A relative just asked if I wanted to march in our city's official pride parade as part of her employer's corporate float because they "have places left".
How fucking dystopian.
I'm queer, I can just join the parade if I want to (and have done so before). I don't need the permission of MegaCorp3000 to do so 🙄

Total TV Guide Interview - Issue 12 [18-24 March 2023]
Tap/click 'Keep Reading' to view the transcript.
Death In Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise has given us the chance to see DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) relocate from Saint Marie to be with his fiancée Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) in her hometown of Shipton Abbott, on the Devonshire coast.
While Humphrey works with the local police, Martha has fulfilled her dream of opening Ten Mile Kitchen. But their happy ever after hit an unexpected bump in the road with the arrival of Archie Hughes, Martha’s new business partner - and ex-fiancée! ‘Archie doesn’t want to intrude,’ says Jamie Bamber. ‘But actually, it’s Martha and Humphrey who have walked into his world. Archie belongs there and has made a successful career. She’s the one that who went away.’
The owner of three vineyards, Archie became Martha’s saviour on the eve of the café’s opening after she ran into financial difficulties. Now he's involved in the business. And this week when a food critic reviews the eaterie, he hints at a bond between the pair. ‘Archie’s slightly egotistic side is flattered that a stranger can see their chemistry and he quite enjoys that affirmation, in a male pride kind of way. He’s got nothing in life that’s out of place - until he sees Marta again and realises that maybe this is the one thing he got wrong. But she is so in love with Humph, so that’s complicated. In any story you need obstacles and Archie is an obstacle to them.’
For Jamie, joining the series was a joy. ‘I haven’t done any shows, before, that the whole family can sit down to on a Friday evening. This is deliberately a broad audience. There’s a great whodunnit, the denouement is different from your average TV closed-room murders as the crimes are a bit more inventive.’
With Archie being a vineyard owner, did Jamie brush up on his wine knowledge? ‘Actually, when I was a student, I worked in a fine wine shop in London. I’ve also lived in France and travelled around and visited a few vineyards. For me, wine is a metaphor for having your feet in the soil. It can be overblown and overcomplicated and made fancy but fundamentally, wine is a crop and that’s a great analogy for Archie. He’s a simple bloke who’s got quite a sophisticated lifestyle because of the means he has.’
While Devon an Cornwall is a beautiful part of the world, are there any regrets there was no trip to Guadeloupe? ‘Funnily enough, I’d been offered to do Death In Paradise before but it didn’t work with my schedules. Maybe Archie can go there on holiday?’
Jamie himself is very well-travelled. Last year, he filed a police show, Cannes Confidential in France. An English language drama, he’s currently dubbing into French, and he’s also made a thriller in Barcelona for Netflix, reuniting him with Strike Back’s writer, Jack Lothian. But his next trip is closer to home to celebrate his 50th birthday in April. ‘I really wanted a parted, but it’s a big year on lots of fronts for my family. So we’re going to Ireland. I’ve got family over here, so I’ll be catching up with cousins in Northern Ireland, a bit of Dublin, the Antrim coast, some golf, maybe some Guinness, some Bushmills and seeing the Irish countryside.’

Blur @ Malahide Castle & Gardens (Dublin, Ireland) on Saturday, June 24, 2023 // All photos belong to me! Setlist photo courtesy of Mike Smith on Instagram! // The Blurry Men were PERFECT! A phenomenal set from start to finish! Unstoppably energetic, abundantly joyful, and just fucking brilliant! ❤️
Gra was a FREAK with his guitar! Dames was his usual campy theatrical diva self; he wrapped an Irish flag around his shoulders and a pride flag around his waist and screamed “I’M FOURTEEN PERCENT IRISH!” and pranced around in a green bucket hat! Al wore a skirt and flashed the audience! Dave was injured, but he still managed to smash the hell out of his drum kit! So lucky and grateful to experience this beautiful gig with my amazing friends! 🥹❤️

This is a photo of a mailbox in Dublin, Ireland that was part of the Dublin Pride LGBTQ+ Festival route which took place in June 2023.
This mailbox is one of sixteen that got a special makeover along the route for Dublin Pride Parade. It's painted in all the colors of the rainbow flag, an important symbol for the LGBTQ+ community. They covered the postbox with these rainbow colors, showing support for LGBTQ+ people. The mailbox’s bright colors and prominent placement on the sidewalk make it a highly visible and effective means of communicating support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Overall, this photo is an excellent example of how visual communication can be used to convey powerful messages and ideas. By painting the mailbox in the colors of the rainbow flag, the artist has created a striking and memorable graphic that communicates support for the LGBTQ+ community in a highly visible and effective way.

Ferment Brewing announces their first-ever lineup of year-around releases, including 12° Pils and India Pale Ale.
Tumblr media

Press Release
May 23, 2023 — Today Ferment Brewing announces its first-ever lineup of year round beers in cans — a selection of five fan favorite beers. The two newest-to-can offerings, 12° Pils and India Pale Ale, are also the first recipes Brewmaster Dan Peterson wrote for Ferment and remain his favorites. Joining them are three well-loved beers previously available as rotating seasonals — Hana Pils, Lost in Fragaria, and Nitro Dry Stout.
Each can in the year-round lineup is digitally printed, as Ferment has officially made the switch from labeled cans in order to reduce the brewery’s environmental impact; printed labels can cause issues with the recyclability of aluminum cans.
“Each of these beers are special to me in their own way so this is a really exciting moment for me and our team,” said Dan Peterson. “Nitro Stout, 12° Pils and the India Pale Ale are beers that I opened the brewery with and the latter two are finally getting their time to shine in cans. Hana Pils and Lost in Fragaria were more experimental and I wasn’t sure how’d they do, but the recipes turned out fantastic and their popularity continues to grow. I’m really happy that now drinkers around the Pacific Northwest can grab these beers year round no matter where they live.”
12° Pils is a Czech-style lager with malted barley from Bohemia, harmonized with Saaz hops from Czechia, and naturally soft, pure spring water from the base of Mt. Hood. In addition to new 16oz can 4-packs, Ferment’s taproom is now serving the beer in Czech-style mugs from side pull tap for a smoother pour and foamier head.
India Pale Ale is carefully crafted and left unfiltered to fully express a medley of ingredients from England and the Pacific Northwest. Rahr malt, Simpson malt, and wheat form a base that is biscuity and lightly sweet. A dry hopping of Cascade, Crystal, and Mosaic hops come together with East Kent Golding and Fuggle hops to impart an herbaceous and complex aroma of peach, tangerine, and red cedar without being buried by bitterness.
Brewed with toasted rice for a slight nuttiness, Hana Pils is a Japanese-style rice lager with flavor layers of wildflower, fruit blossom, and melon. This crisp and clean lager clocks in at 4.8% ABV and is available in 12oz 6-pack cans.
Lost in Fragaria is a bright pink, full-bodied sour ale, bursting with 28 pounds of Oregon strawberries per barrel and a subtle dry-hop charge of Hull Melon hops. This deliciously refreshing beer is 5.6% and available in 12oz 6-pack cans.
Nitro Dry Stout, Dan Peterson’s favorite shift beer, is a 4.5% ABV easy sipper with a delicate roast quality, inspired by the midnight black ales of Dublin. Give the 16oz can a decent shake before pouring into a tall glass for a beautiful cascading nitro effect.
All five beers are available throughout Ferment’s distribution channels in Oregon and Washington.
About Ferment Brewing Co. Ferment Brewing Co. opened in 2018 as a 20-barrel brewery and tasting room overlooking the Columbia River in Hood River, Oregon. Born out of an appreciation for the art of fermentation, the company prides itself in providing a modern brewery and tasting room experience that fuses traditional farmhouse techniques with a forward-thinking scientific approach. Three Overseas Players Royal Challengers Bangalore can Target in the IPL Auction
Three Overseas Players Royal Challengers Bangalore can Target in the IPL Auction
Curious about which overseas players Royal Challengers Bangalore can target in the IPL Auction? Here are the names of three international players Royal Challengers Bangalore can target in the IPL Auction 2023.
There was no surprise or shock because RCB kept its core team. The only notable name listed in RCB's publication is Sherfane Rutherford. At the IPL Mini Auction on December 23, they will have the smallest purse. Before the IPL 2023 mini-auction, the Royal Challengers Bangalore only released a small number of players—one was traded and four others were released.
The fact that none of the five players released were a regular member of their playing XI last season when they finished fourth in the points table, and defeated Lucknow in the Eliminator before losing to Rajasthan in the Qualifier 2, failing one step from the final, gives you an idea of the strength of their surviving squad members and the management's clarity.
The three names of overseas players RCB can target in IPL Auction
1.  Jason Holder
For many years, RCB has lacked a true all-rounder who can affect games both with the bat and the ball. They won't be able to afford Ben Stokes and Cameron Green because they only have INR 8.75 cr left in their budget.
Jason Holder, who excels in both skill sets, can be the target of RCB. The tall West Indian fast bowler bowls well at both the start and end of a game, giving up little under 8 runs per over. In 38 games, Holder has claimed 49 wickets.
Holder is a competent batsman as well. They can also utilize the right-handed batter as a floater. The Caribbean player has made major contributions with the bat over the past two years, scoring runs at a strike rate of 135 in final overs. As LSG kept mixing it up with his batting position, he was unable to make a significant impact with the bat. He will without a doubt be a target for RCB going into the IPL 2023 auction.
Read more: RCB Squad 2023 | Royal Challengers Bengaluru Team 2023 Players List
2.  Joshua Little
Joshua Little's mind-blowing bowling performances have ignited the international bowling circuit. This calendar year, the 23-year-old has played in 26 T20Is and has 39 wickets at an economy of 7.58. He was quite exceptional at the just concluded T20 World Cup, taking 11 victims in seven games while maintaining an impeccable economy of 7.00.
Little is great at all stages of a T20 innings.. He is excellent at the tail end of the innings, deadly with the new ball and capable of filling in as an enforcer in the middle overs. Despite not having played in the IPL yet, he is in excellent shape and has a chance to succeed in the lucrative competition. As a result, a lot of franchises would be interested in investing in him, with Royal Challengers Bangalore being one of them.
There aren't many possibilities for death bowling in the RCB lineup. Additionally, the team's top death bowler, Harshal Patel, is having trouble finding his rhythm on the international stage. Therefore, Little may be a wonderful option if they needed quality reinforcements that could perform well during slog overs. Bangalore might then bid aggressively to secure the Irish pacer during the auction.
Read more: Will AB De Villiers Play in RCB 2023?
3.  Sam Curran
Death bowling has undoubtedly been a glaring area of weakness for the legendary Royal Challengers Bangalore throughout the years. In the death overs, they have relied on the assistance of Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel, which has produced a mixed bag of outcomes for them. Sam Curran will provide them with both a dependable death bowler and a useful lower-order batsman who is strong enough to win games. The English all-outstanding rounder's bowling performance earned him Player of the Tournament honors in the recently finished T20 World Cup 2022.
He has grown as a death bowler and has been equally effective with the bat, therefore RCB will undoubtedly try to hire him during the IPL 2023 auction.
Conclusion
Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the few teams who has retained so many of their players. This team spirit with their players has led to a great increase in their reputation during the IPL 2023 Auction season.
FAQs
Q1. How many times have Royal Challengers Banglore won the IPL?
Although they haven't won the IPL, the Royal Challengers have placed second three times between 2009 and 2016. With totals of 263/5 and 49, respectively, the squad owns the record for both the highest and lowest totals in IPL history.
Q2. Who is the owner of Royal Challengers Banglore?
The biggest alcohol producer in India, United Spirits Limited, is the owner of RCB (Royal Challengers Banglore). A division of the London-based Diageo is United Spirits. RCB was established by United Spirits, who also gave the franchise the moniker Royal Challengers.
Q3. What type of bowler is Joshua Little?
Holder, a Barbados-born right-arm medium-fast bowler, has developed as a captain and player on the move, displaying an ever-improving temperament and advancement in technical and tactical understanding. He is a capable batter who bats lower in the order.

'He is the new indie revelation. Apollo-like physique, insane sensitivity and magnetic acting, the 28-year-old Irish actor burst onto the screens with two silent roles overflowing with love which instantly made him a phenomenon on social networks. First in the series “Normal People” in 2020, then in the film “Aftersun” in 2023 – which earned him an Oscar nomination for best actor. In the moving “Without Ever Knowing Us” by Andrew Haigh (in theaters February 14), he comes to delight the heart of the hero (Andrew Scott) – and a little more ours. Between two phases of filming for Ridley Scott's "Gladiator 2", which should finish raising him to stardom, we rushed to London to meet our new idol for an exclusive interview.
In Without Ever Knowing Us , you play Harry, the hero's neighbor, who comes to take him out of his loneliness, by forming a very strong relationship with him. Were you already familiar with the work of Andrew Haigh?
Yes, I was a big fan. The film that particularly struck me was 45 Years. In my eyes, he is a phenomenal director, his characters and his writing touch me a lot. When I first read the script, I told myself that Harry was someone who needed to be taken care of. Whereas, in fact, his job in the story is to take care of Adam. It's a very interesting dramatic issue because he gives a lot of love even though he hasn't received that much.
Your character and that of Andrew Scott share great intimacy, sexual and emotional. How did you work together to achieve such accuracy?
There was something mutual and instinctive, which meant that I never worried about these scenes. I don't think we ever really talked about it, we knew it was going to go well. And then, we knew each other from before, we have mutual friends and we had done a kind of comedy sketch together. He is an incredibly kind person, in addition to being an exceptional actor. He really impressed me in Pride, and obviously in the series Fleabag.
For these intimate scenes to work, you have to be with a person you trust, but you also have to know how to remove yourself from the scenes so that the characters can interact with each other. And then, during filming, we got a lot closer. He is an incredible person who will remain very dear to my heart.
Was there an intimacy coordinator position on set?
Yes, we had a great person in this position. I think that was the case on all the projects I've been in, including Normal People and Aftersun . I know the concept is recent, but it seems vital to me, I couldn't imagine doing without it. But, beyond that, I think Andrew Haigh is one of the best at directing these kinds of very intimate scenes. We are super proud of what it looks like on screen.
What scene from the film was your favorite to shoot?
There are plenty ! Obviously, the ones that are really fun, like the ketamine club scene. But I especially like the hardest scenes to do. Like my very first, when Harry and Adam meet. Harry is drunk and rings Adam's doorbell. I was super happy because it's been a long time since I played someone so direct, Harry is very in-your-face. He leans all his weight on the door frame and starts flirting with Adam to make him a little uncomfortable. When we know the whole story, we understand that there is another reason that pushes him to want to enter Adam's apartment, and it's quite upsetting. If you asked me what I would dream of working on and with whom, it would be exactly on a stage like this. And it may seem a little twisted to people who have seen the film, but another one that I really enjoyed doing, in any case which was "a good difficult moment", is the reunion scene between Harry and Adam, towards the end, because it's very... rough.
After a Master of Dramatic Arts at Trinity College Dublin in 2017 and several theater roles, you experienced very sudden international recognition in 2020 with your first on-screen role in the Irish miniseries Normal People . How did you experience it?
The series was released at the time of Covid-19. As terrible as this period was, it was a blessing in disguise for me since it saved me from being recognized in the street. I was confined at home like the rest of the world, and that allowed me to slowly get used to notoriety while maintaining a certain stability. So it was both abrupt and very gradual, I was very lucky. Sure, it can be overwhelming at times, but overall, I'm happy to be able to do my dream job with filmmakers and actors and actresses that I deeply admire.
You told Harper's Bazaar that you would be proud all your life to have made this series, which shows with great subtlety the stormy relationship between two complex young people who meet in high school and begin by seeing each other out of sight. For what ?
I think we did a very good job, in all areas: writing, directing, acting... It allowed me to meet one of my best friends in the world. It changed our lives.
Your father was a schoolteacher and semi-professional actor in Ireland. What films did he show you as a child?
With my father, we mostly watched Laurel and Hardy at home. I wasn't really interested in cinema when I was a kid. I preferred sport, so I didn't spend a lot of time indoors. But I loved going to the cinema, the ritual of popcorn or Maltesers, sitting in a dark room watching The Lord of the Rings … I remember being a big fan of the cinema experience growing up.
When did you start watching movies on your own?
When I was studying theater. At first, I pretended to have seen a lot of stuff when that was clearly not the case. It still happens to me. Besides, it's criminal, but I have to admit: I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time only three weeks ago... C It was in 70mm print at the Prince Charles cinema, in London, an incredible place. So I spent all my years at college catching up on classics of cinema and theater, scared to death of getting found out.
Most of the time, you play charming, gentle and sensitive men. With one exception: in God's Creatures by Anna Rose Holmer and Saela Davis (selected for the 2022 Directors' Fortnight and broadcast in France the following year on OCS), you play a young fisherman, Brian, who commits rape. Is it interesting to also explore the dark side of the human soul?
All my characters are complex. It's true that Harry is charming and caring, but he's also incredibly dark. He's someone who hates himself, who hides his pain and tries to convince himself and others that he's not like Brian. With God's Creatures, I wasn't looking to surprise the audience, but rather myself. That said, that's not enough to accept a role. If I like the story, the filmmaker, the performers, I'm happy to play almost anything. I also recently performed at the Stanley Kowalski Theater in A Streetcar Named Desire, it is another example of a dark character. But, again, this is not my only compass. If an actor only focuses on one thing, it makes for a disembodied performance. I do everything I can to avoid that.
Which actors and actresses do you admire?
Anthony Hopkins remains one of my greatest references. If he walked into the room, I would break down. Michelle Williams is also one of my idols. I came across him a few times last year, I almost died. I also really like Marlon Brando at the beginning of his career, some of his performances changed the face of cinema. And I spoke with Natalie Portman the other day, I think she's amazing. To have been a child actress and to have continued her career with such performances, like in May December, it's crazy.
The other highlight of your career was the film Aftersun , released in 2023. You play Calum, a young father on vacation with his teenage daughter, who finds himself in an undefined state, a form of depression. How did you work with director Charlotte Wells to achieve this murky performance, this floating state?
There are similarities between Calum's character in Aftersun and Harry's character in Without Ever Knowing Us. Charlotte is a genius. At the beginning of our work together, I remember telling him that I preferred not to diagnose Calum's condition, to call it depression, because, although that was what I felt, he himself did not have the words to define it. He's in a state of confusion, he's navigating it, he can't seem to be happy while he's on vacation with one of the people he loves most in the world. I think that, in our current context, this appears more clearly to us. But he is a man of a certain generation who does not necessarily have access to the resources of today's men.
Fortunately, we're moving toward a world where men are more comfortable talking about their feelings. It can also serve as a warning: this is what threatens when society, in particular the men who make it up, locks down its emotions. Similarly, Harry's journey in Without Ever Knowing Us can serve as a warning to parents who marginalize their child because of his sexuality, or for any other reason - even if it is only by failing him attention. Coming back to Calum, Charlotte directed me with great clarity and a form of kindness and attention. Working with her is a bit like sailing in a dream, you feel taken care of. I am very proud to be able to consider her my friend, I know that she will become – and that she already is – a huge artist.'
