Tormented Souls II Announced for 2024 Release

The impressive indie horror game Tormented Souls will soon be getting a sequel as PQube and Dual Effect have announced that they are planning on releasing Tormented Souls II sometime in 2024 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Tormented Souls

Resident Evil and Silent Hill were once the dominant leading franchises of the survival horror genre, ushering in a new style of gameplay and storytelling before each series evolved in different directions. Silent Hill was handed off to different developers who each had their own take, before Konami decided to become what they are today. Resident Evil also changed its gameplay style and theme to be more focused on action, before remaking itself again in the first-person perspective.

But while survival horror has moved on in other ways, Chilean developer Abstract Digital Works and Italian developer Dual Effect teamed up to bring back the old style of Resident Evil and Silent Hill games with an indie horror game of their own, Tormented Souls.

The fact Garrus brought wine to his romance scene in ME2 is so funny, because he only brough ONE bottle. He’s dextro, Shepard is levo, so that wine can only be for one of them. If it’s for Shepard, I can only imagine him frantically googling “romantic human date ideas” right before the suicide mission, seeing “wine, candles, dinner, dancing???” and saying fuck it I don’t know which of these answers is correct, but alcohol is a universal language.

Or even funnier, if that wine is dextro, it means this man brought a whole ass bottle for himself. Like damn Garrus, I knew you were nervous but not that nervous. I have to headcanon that they didn’t drink the wine at all, because 1) they’re hours away from fighting the Collectors, and 2) how fucking awkward would it be for just one of them to be drinking right before they get dirty.

just had the thought "after i exhaust the french fiction, poetry, and textbooks i own, i could read the french dictionary cover to cover" and got, like, GENUINELY excited about it.

Established in the early 2000s, the Carmine family manufacturing business had been a powerhouse even before the Great War, garnering lucrative weapons contracts with the government and profiting from civilians stockpiling during the escalating economic stresses. The apocalypse was a minor set-back, and 200-some years later, Carmine weapons are the most trusted source for anything a Wastelander could need to kill someone - from ammo to auto-turrets.

Carmilla Carmine, the current family matriarch and one of the most respected Overlords of the Wastelands, had set her sights on a new resource to provide even more firepower to the masses and caps to line her coffers: the cutting-edge technology of the Army of the Righteous. 

After their exterminations, Wastelanders had learned to give those areas a wide berth, as the Army seeded the area with traps before leaving. Any supplies that weren’t outright destroyed were likely to have a lethal surprise for any scavengers foolhardy enough to try and comb the area. Carmilla spent years studying and analyzing anything she could regarding the Army of the Righteous, and Carmine Weapons Manufacturing has developed secret techniques to go through the No Man’s Land left behind and gather precious resources like broken or abandoned weapons and armor.

#major advantage of 1634 is they're both defensively responsible (so ironically neither has to work as hard on defence) #and they can afford to have a less defensively responsible offensive third #but without mitch auston has to do a little more caring about that AND he doesn't have his puck carrier #willy is good enough that you can swap them but with the compensation it means they both become dual threat #instead of the playmaker sniper dichotomy #and this diminishes each of their abilities a little bit #still a very effective line but not the most efficient #(and in a playoff situation it's probably the pairing id use w 34 instead of domi)(assuming no mitch) #but rn we're not exactly standings mobile over here. we're trying to get auston 70
