Do you think SkyClan would continue inviting Daylight Warriors into their clan by the lake? Younge warriors and a few elders would say things like “We have a full clan now, we don’t need them.” Meanwhile Leafstar (it’s been a while since I read any book with her in it, so forgive me if I don’t get her personality was like) would respond “It’s not about having a full clan, it’s about tradition.” If I remember the map correctly, there should be A twolegplace near SkyClan, so they could meet with the Daylight Warriors there.

The other clans would be confused, as no one had there had seen SkyClan at the Gorge to know their history with Daylight Warriors.

Kits from other clans would hear Senior warriors complain, and they would be like “Why can’t we have Daylight Warriors” and everyone in the camp responds with “It’s against the warrior code!” All at once

I like to think Leafstar does but she just…doesn’t tell the other clans, she’s too annoyed at them so she just keeps it going and if anyone’s like “what kinda name is Cadillacpaw” they all go off about this skyclan legend about the great loner Cadillac who helped them in time of need. All the other clans are so goddamn confused but the daylight warriors also think it’s funny so they completely play into that Yes I am completely clan born yes my name of vulpixfoot makes complete and utter sense you see that’s the name of a great terrible beast that once lived in the gorge long before us, why do I have a collar? What do you guys not have TWOLEG PLACE SPIES? No wonder you keep getting surprised by kittypets!

Skyclan finally unifies about and appreciates daylight warriors now that they can use them to annoy and confuse the hell out of other clans.

What are your feelings on the daylight warriors, btw? It always seemed a really stupid concept to me since one of the first things Firestar is told is that he can't have a paw in each world

What I love about SkyClan is that they are different, and I hope that they don't lose it at the Lake. Unlike the Forest Clans, SkyClan has a distinct culture besides just 'living in (environment theme)' and that's excellent!

Daylight Warriors are part of that. SkyClan doesn't turn down extra paws-- why would they? They aren't trying to keep up a facade of strength to avoid the other battle-hungry Clans from seeing them as a target. They aren't violently protective of their bloodlines, they know they're united by something stronger than that. They don't see a reason to be so xenophobic, just one generation ago, they WERE the outsiders.

What is a Daylight Warrior, if not hands that don't also need to eat? Bodies that don't crowd the den at night? All the benefits of an extra member with none of the downsides.

If there's anything that Firestar's Quest failed to do, imo, it's that it didn't make him examine his own biases. He shows up, establishes the Clan, fights magic rats, and then leaves.

But this is the perfect time TO question that. Why can't he have a paw in each world? ...was there a legitimate reason for that law, or was it just a way that Clan society controls the freedom of its warriors?

Note: Firepaw himself was not given the definitive answer to that question in Into the Wild. He was shamed into silence for questioning Clan ways of life, and was only given Cloudpaw's eventual kidnapping many books later to legitimize this law.

the daylight warriors were genuinely such a smart and fun idea for skyclan. it has flaws but it gives skyclan a unique flavor, or at least it did back in the skyclans destiny/skyclan and the stranger days. 

i like that there are nondaylight warriors int he clan who feel like the daylight guys arent really a part of the clan. i like that the because the daylight warriors are kittypets, they are always well fed, have vaccines and medical care, and have a warm place to sleep. skyclan always had a group of healthy warriors to rely on, even if they werent there 24/7. it was an amazing idea that i miss from skyclan once they moved to the lake. 

i wish there was more non clan interactions and systems happening in the recent arcs because this aspect of skyclan always made them more interesting to me than typical clan border infighting.

WCRP CONCEPT

I have been crafting some ideas for a potential wcrp idea. I wanted to see who’d be interested in this, I know I had this idea before with a different setting and theme, however, I’ve been crafting something a little more familiar to me, and have come up with an idea I really like!!

BASELINE (please read more on the doc): focusing on two groups based in Yorkshire, UK. One group resides in the town (constructed of daylight warriors, pub cats and town strays) and the other out in the sticks - barn cats at their very core who are passionate about the life they lead alongside farmyard animals and the challenges that bring.

One group are wanderers at heart, adapting to the everchanging human life in a small Yorkshire town, and the other happy where they are and terrified to disrupt the easy life that they’ve built.

I kind of wish Skyclan had kept the daylight warriors. Would give them something to differentiate between the other clans. Idk I just really like the concept of it.

I do think these cats would outlawed from becoming healer / deputy / leader, unless they desire to permanently leave their homes and join the clan, because obviously we can’t have the three highest points of power leaving at night when something could happen, whether it be at the gorge(?) or especially at the lake territory

Macgyver. I’m surprised he’s not more important as the one daylight warrior to remain in SkyClan. He genuinely didn’t have to, he could have stayed with his twolegs and pretended that SkyClan found a safer home but he didn’t. I like to think he still has his collar since he doesn’t want anyone to for a moment forget he was a kittypet, that and they didn’t know how to get it off.

How do daylight warrior names work in Clanmew? Like Bellaleaf’s name or Harveymoon

"Bella" and "Harvey" are words with no meaning to then, so they mimic the sound as closely as possible and use it as a prefix.

Harvey = "Hawfee"

This happens particularly to words that have sounds cats cannot pronounce, usually ones with tongue and lip movements. Like T, D, J, V, and Z. I also never use X, correcting it to ks.

Cat named Xanax = "Sanaks"

For "BELL-UH" they probably could mimic that pretty well, but will correct to something easier to say in common use.

Bella = "Belwa"

The English word "Scourge" sounds a lot like "Skrss", the Clanmew and Townmew word for tyranny, so it was translated as 'Scourge.'
