hello i saw from your name that you might like lore-?
if you like genshin lore what are your thoughts on celestial nails?
ooooooo YES I DO like lore!
as far as we know right now, there's only 2. and both of the ones we DO know about are in pretty significant locations. The first on Dragonspine, and the second being in the Chasm. When we're looking at where each nail is, we also need to take into account how the land looks. We know that the first Celestial Nail was dropped onto Dragonspine, and the other ended up in the Chasm, but it was underground unlike the first nail. Using our evidence, we can possibly tell which nail was dropped first, and even tell how each nail was used individually. So let's take a look at Dragonspine first.
Dragonspine: The nail is broken into multiple pieces, and the land around is like a pit. This would make sense for the surrounding area to look like this. I like to think of the nail here as like a meteorite. When a meteorite hits the ground, it would make a dent on the ground it lands on IF it was large enough. Meteorites also never land on the Earth while being very large. Most meteorites that land only have 5% of the original remaining, so it would be rare to document something large. This fits regarding the state of the Dragonspine nail. The nail landed onto Dragonspine, but ended up breaking into smaller pieces on impact.
The Chasm: The nail in The Chasm is a bit different. This nail is completely intact and underground, but we don't know why this is. We're told that on the surface of the Chasm, Morax fought a battle where he used the stone pillars that are there to this day, so one would assume that the surface of the Chasm looks the way it does because of that. However, the pillars seem to be sticking in a general diagonal direction, and they don't really face a certain way. Meaning that these pillars are the result of the battle Morax fought, but not how the Chasm looks. Compared to the pillars, there are a multitude of cliffs that all face the same way, almost like they're rotating as well. Not to mention the entrance to the Underground Mines of The Chasm are in the very center of this rotation. The best way I can put this is that the surface if The Chasm looks like a hurricane. A hurricane's spin and direction are caused by the Coriolis Effect, which causes the path of fluids — everything from particles in the air to currents in the ocean — to curve as they travel across and over Earth's surfaces. But what would cause land to look the way it does. The nail in The Chasm was likely used like a drill compared to the nail on Dragonspine. This would perfectly explain why the Chasm looks this way as well as the nail being underground. The surface of The Chasm is the hurricane, and the entryway to the Underground mines is the eye of the hurricane. The eye being where the nail was placed, and when the nail was used as a drill, causing the surface to look like a hurricane. This would also explain why the Ancient City in the Chasm is upside down, since it would only be upside down if it WAS on the surface and drilled underground. However, that's a different subject.
What's also important is that both of these nails are located where ancient and forgotten cities are.
So now we can tell how each nail was used, but how do we tell which nail was used when? Well, we can't tell EXACTLY when each nail was used, but we might be able to know which nail was used before the other. Given how the first nail was dropped onto Dragonspine and broke on impact, I doubt Celestia would want to make the mistake of one of their pillars breaking again. So, they used the nail in The Chasm as a drill instead. This is only just a theory though, and there's really no evidence to back it up.
We also want to know WHY the nails were dropped where they were. For this, we want to take a look at the books left in the ruins of Enkanomiya, the ruins on Dragonspine, and the architecture of both Enkanomiya and the city in The Chasm, The books in Enkanomiya, made by the scribe of Istaroth, talking about the Primordial one and The Second Who Came, and when the Traveller and their Twin arrived to Teyvat.
The Primordial One and The Scribe of Istaroth: The Scribe wrote about the Primordial one, a god from another world theorized to be Teyvat's creator and fought a 40-year war against the Seven Sovereigns. The Primordial One also seemed to be pretty benevolent towards humans. Then the Second Who Came appeared and restarted the long-ended war. After the war, The Enkanomiyans tried to get back onto the surface. Unfortunately, their way was blocked, and The Scribe believed that the Primordial One sealed them in the underground, with only Istaroth responding to their cries. This seems like pretty unusual behavior for a god such as the Primordial one who views humanity so highly.
The Ruins in Dragonspine: I forget the name of it, but there is a specific claymore you can obtain by doing a quest in Dragonspine. In the room where you obtain the claymore, there 2 different paintings, 2 painings of each being on 2 of the walls. The first painting most likely depicts the Primordial One and Humanity, and the other seems to depict Celestia. In the painting, Celestia is depicted as a floating island in the sky. But we don't know if this is Celestia for sure, because what could be depicted is JUST the island or Celestia in it's entirety.
The Architecture of Enkanomiya and the city in The Chasm: I the second Traveller Archon Quest, Dainsleif points out that the Architecture of Enkanomiya is pretty much the same as the Architecture of Khaenri'ah, except the city in The Chasm is upside down. We also know from Ancient books in Enkanomiya that Teyvat was just one big civiliation with one culture, which ended uo changing after the war between The Primordial One and The Second Who Came. During this war, Enkanomiya fell into where it is today.
We also need to take into account the first cutscene of the game. This cutscene takes place during the destruction of Khaenri'ah, and the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles states; "The arrogation of mankind ends now." This could hint as to why Celestia dropped the nails.
Conclusion/Theory: gathering the evidence we have; we can finally come to a hopeful conclusion as to why the nails were dropped where they were. The conclusion I came to was that the nails were dropped on these ancient cities, as well as Enkanomiya being left underground, is for the same reason that Khaenri'ah was destroyed. We can start by going with what the Sustainer said about the arrogation of humanity. Celestia wanted the arrogation of mankind to end, so it would make sense that they would destroy any country that became too advanced. Hence, nails being dropped onto The Chasm and Dragonspine. But what about Enkanomiya? When we look at what The Scribe of Istaroth wrote, the entrance to the outside world was sealed off by the Primordial one. Think of it like putting away dishes in a cabinet. When you put the dishes away, this particular time they were put away in such a manner that they would probably fall. But to prevent that, you shut the doors to the cabinet and left the dishes be, thinking that it would be fine. But when you later go to open the cabinet, the dishes end up falling out. This is what Celestia did to Enkanomiya. They sealed Enkanomiya underground after they fell, thinking they would not make it back to the surface. But thanks to Orobashi thousands of years later, they did. There's also a second reason they could have done this, to get rid of evidence. When a murderer kills somebody, they want to hide the evidence that they did the murder as much as possible. In this case, the murderer is Celestia, and the victim is The Primordial One. Since these cities knew about the Primordial One and the war against The Second Who Came, Celestia likely killed the Primordial One and then got rid of the citieas that were too advanced or had a connection to the Primordial one, hoping to get rid of all evidence that there were gods before Celestia.

Coriolis yelps, dancing across a particularly hot patch of sand.
His feet were blistered from his morning trek, when the growling of his tummy had forced him to move away from the little oases where he had spent the night. He thinks longingly of it now, the water would be soothing on his paws.
Spotting an outcropping ahead, he dashes into the scant shadow for a rest, but has to shift from foot to foot to ease the pain.
Soon, noon will come, and then there will be no shadows, there won't be any stopping then.
He whines. Hunger continues to gnaw at him.
All around him was sand, sand, and more sand. There's nothing to eat in a desert; he'd even tried snapping at passing flies, but he hadn't liked them.
Slowly, he notices a faint scratching...

Lair Review for nevvermore #132590
Buckle up, folks, because this review is a doozy! Over 30 dragons, and ALL OF MY LOVE. As is par for the course when we’re talking reviews. ♥
Tumblr media
I absolutely had to start with Morrigan, partly because I wrote her lore for you, and partly because I’m such a sucker for that gold/brown aesthetic. Back in 2017, I was this close to moving to Earth instead of Light, if that tells you anything about my aesthetic preferences. But I also really love that little pop of Shadow around her head! It ties in well to her heritage, and sticks out very neatly!
Plus, she’s ambitious as hell and I adore her for that. ♥
Tumblr media
Blue-green and brown is another outstanding combo, and Silail wears it so very, very well! I don’t know anything else about her beyond the implications in Morrigan’s lore (yes, I did notice they’re sisters!), but I’m in love with her anyhow. She just has this very fluid grace to her, and I also think you picked a perfect skin. Plus, Imperials can be super hard to dress, but you’ve pulled it off so well here! Great work on this gal!
Tumblr media
Akatsuki is a perfect example of a subtle accent taking a dragon to the next level. Without that Trick of the Light skin, I think his mane would look way too flat, making him a lot more dull over all. This skin, though, adds some brightness and depth in a way that works really well! Plus, I love that he looks like a Fire dragon or Fire-adjacent at first glance, but he’s actually got Ice eyes!
Tumblr media
First of all, I love this skin so much. I’ve got it slapped on one of my own Water dragons, and I just adore the way it works. More importantly, though, I’m impressed with how you dealt with Neptune’s tert! Normally, I wouldn’t love Thicket paired with Blue and Teal, but the lantern apparel actually does a huge amount of legwork here. It makes it seem like the green of her tert is actually a result of the lantern’s light, a little bit of ambiance on your deep sea friend. Great work dressing her!
Tumblr media
What can I say about Felix except that he looks SO HUGGABLE? Seriously, I just wanna give him a big hug. That skin is absolutely adorable, and it’s making me like a male snapper, which I find hard to do a lot of the time. The big boy beans are typically not my favorite. But this boy? Best boy.
Tumblr media
I feel like a big chunk of this review is going to be me commenting on your A+ skin and accent usage. Sparkplug is deceptively simple without much apparel, but I really, really like the accent, and the implications it has for a dragon that (I presume) is part of your flight reps. Did she build it herself? What happened that she needed prosthetics? Or is it armor? I’d love to know more!
Also, Lightning unusual eyes are SUCH a pretty shade of blue.
Tumblr media
Again, you’ve got another blue dragon here with a green range tert, but I think I’m fixing on the accent. It’s so cute, all those little shells stuck to Terpsichore, and it makes me wonder if they’re decoration, or if she’s just that lovable to shellfish and can’t bring herself to peel them off.
Unlike Neptune, who you’ve dressed super well and pulled off an odd tert for, I don’t think I care much for Pistachio paired with Periwinkle and Twilight. That said, I love that you managed to make a purple range secondary look blue for cohesiveness!
Tumblr media
Turns out Artim is NOT wearing Windbound Plumage, like I thought when I first saw him in your lair. That skin is a solid mimic, though, and I really like it. Plus, it adds a lot of depth and color where Artim would otherwise be a little bit flat and boring, so once again, props for your skin usage! I especially like the way it makes it seem like Artim is growing out of the foliage, rather than the foliage growing off of Artim, if that makes sense. He seems very woodsy and very comfortable.
Tumblr media
Sometimes I forget how stinking cute M Faes can be, but Xenon just reminded me PERFECTLY. He’s so swirly and soft and adorable, and I wanna put him in my pocket and take him everywhere! White and Sky make for a classic combo, and that accent makes it look like he’s wayyyyyy up there in the atmosphere, just cruising along.
Also, the little hints of pink in his wings thanks to Facet add just a touch of extra color and depth. He’s perfect!
Tumblr media
Chaorite is wearing a Ravenhearst skin. That alone means she’s looking absolutely beautiful as hell. That is all. ♥
Tumblr media
I’ll admit I didn’t care for this accent during last year’s Trickmurk, but you’ve made it look great on Ashrah! I can’t decide whether those little fellas are her minions or if they’re pestering her, but I like the way they look on her nonetheless. It’s a shame that purple in the accent isn’t a touch more pink to complement the rosy tones in her primary and tert, but that’s not exactly something you can control.
Tumblr media
Triple Terracotta, especially with PyMorph, is truly *chef’s kiss* and I LOVE HER. Can’t say much else about her, since she doesn’t appear to have lore or apparel or anything, but I love her nonetheless. She’s just prettier than hell.
Tumblr media
Brigit is wearing one of my all time favorite festival skins, AND she’s rocking another classic color combo. She’s also worth a mention for her unusual familiar. I’ve noticed you’re normally pretty good at familiar matching, but the Deepwater Traveler you’ve put on her doesn’t match at all. Is there a lore reason for that, or are you just awakening your familiar ASAP?
Tumblr media
Ooooh, a primal fella! He’s...so bright you can’t avoid looking at him. Honestly, he actually reminds me a little of a paper kite with that skin, like a kite that gained sentience and flew off on its own (but also just wandered because what’s a kite to do when the wind says “NOPE NOT THAT WAY, THIS WAY”?)
Tumblr media
Pretzel is an ABSURDLY cute name for a dragon whose species is known for literally tying themselves in knots out of boredom. And yet again, your skin usage is a blast! Love the blue tones this adds to Pretzel, but it also works awesome with her existing orange colors. She’s very Halloweeny.
Tumblr media
See, this is the power of a good skin or accent. I rarely like triples because they can be kind of boring, even with cool genes. But you’ve taken Phobus to the next level with a complementary accent, and I ADORE IT. The tiny horns it gives him are so cute, and I’m a sucker for florals when it comes down to it. Plus, those little butterflies on the wings are extra cute! He’s just soft and sweet all around.
Tumblr media
A Ravenhearst skin strikes again! I’m not sure how I feel about black and brown together (Sand seems like a shade too brown, where something lighter and a hair closer to the yellows might be nicer with this skin), but at the end of the day, she’s still a lovely, pretty gal. Plus, all the eyes on the skin are like multigaze but more eldritch horror than site-approved cuteness. There could be a lore goldmine there.
Tumblr media
Ahi is SO GOOD. An XYY Bane with complementary colors is no small feat, and I really like how fiery he looks despite being an Ice dragon. Have you considered Skink for him, though? That also has orange accents!
Tumblr media
I’ll confess that I’m writing this lair review BEFORE writing your lore, but I couldn’t help but pick Varrick. He looks every inch a bard, and I really like that you’ve given him a Shabby Cane! Since it blends in with his wing, at first glance, it almost looks like it could be a bow. That works doubly well with his familiar being a Ghosthost Viola!
Tumblr media
Lethe is giving me UNREAL steampunk ghost vibes. Between the apparel and her tert, she strikes me as a Victorian waif with steampunk enhancements come back to haunt whoever tried to make her more automaton than flesh and blood. And do you have lore plans for her? Is Lethe an intentional name? Can she make dragons forget things? I’d love to know more about her!
Tumblr media
Cinder absolutely screams “oh no, sir, it’s such a tragedy my third husband died just like the other two and left me his entire fortune, so terrible, so awful” and it’s making me laugh a little! Not that she’s inherently funny-looking so much as the idea of a murderous widow dragon entertains me A LOT. What are your crimes, Lady Cinder? WHY DID YOU KILL YOUR HUSBANDS...
Tumblr media
You have SO MANY PERMABABIES and of all of them, I think I like Banshee the most. But that’s probably because red is my favorite color, and I think baby pearls are honestly such cuties, even if they do have to spend all that time adding to their pearls in...such a gross way. Ew.
Tumblr media
Green/brown/yellow range dragons are one of the most powerful forces on this site, and Swamp alone is a color with outstanding power. I said what I said, and I’ll stand by it. It makes Medeni a stellar dragon without any lore or apparel.
Tumblr media
I remember when Stained first came out, and I brushed it off as a terrible gene to charge gems for. It was a ripoff, slapping a color overlay on a dragon!
How wrong I was.
Coriolis is a perfect example of how Stained can be used to soften a dragon and given them a lovely, lighter air, and it pairs so well with that accent! She makes me think of that stretch between summer and fall where the colors on the trees are beginning to change, but it’s still warm enough to wear shorts as long as the sun’s out. ♥
Tumblr media
Another triple rescued from a dull life by a good skin! Obviously, the point of this skin is to evoke a prisoner in the Fortress of Ends, but what could Raiju have been imprisoned for? What warrants all the chains and ice? Is it a fair punishment?
Tumblr media
It feels a tiny bit like cheating to pick another dragon I’ve already written for, but I really do adore branch! All the red accents add some cheer to her, and they make her stand out a little more. I think she’d be maybe a little too green otherwise, but you’ve dressed her perfectly! It also makes her seem approachable and warm, which is great for a healer.
Tumblr media
I’m genuinely impressed that you have this little Goat Spiral army, and CiumaObake is my favorite of them all in terms of color. Do you just love baby Spirals with Goat eyes, or is there a lore reason behind this tiny baby army?
More importantly, is this lair tab just the FR version of corralling a pet or a toddler while yelling “WHAT IS IN YOUR MOUTH”?
Tumblr media
I wasn’t part of FR when this skin came out and I am JEALOUS because it looks so nice on Mist! It’s extra frosty and pretty, with that tiny nosy hint on the rose and wings that makes me think she’s looking at a sunrise. She seems very warm and approachable despite the classic Ice aesthetic, and I think she’s outstanding without a drop of apparel.
Plus, you’ve done wonders with yet another triple!
Tumblr media
Vedette is getting a mention for that skin alone. It’s so odd-looking in the best way, and I would love to see if you have lore reasons for his appearance! Is he a mutated Gaoler, or is he another creature entirely?
Tumblr media
Between that skin and her Speedy familiar, Lusa is really rocking that threateningly pale witch aesthetic. I’m not sure I’d like to meet her in a dark alley. Or even a well-lit alley, to be honest. She’s vaguely menacing in a great way!
Tumblr media
I see you, Bill Cipher. I see you.
Tumblr media
And last but not least, Mr. Unnamed, living in your projects tab. He’s got some GREAT colors, and I can’t help but see the potential in him! Using Veined with that Sunset tert could really give him a magmatic sort of appearance. I’d love to see what your ultimate plans for him are!

lair review for @nevvermorefr, thank you for ordering!
Tumblr media
First up is Rei! They’re dressed up all fancy in their antique lace, and the banana stained really helps show that off (or maybe vice versa?) I love their colors and how pretty they look. Almost like a little doll!
Tumblr media
Flatwood is next, and they are such a good purple dragon?? The skin is amazing, yes, but the eye and belly colors really make their design pop. The cards are an excellent touch, too, softening up the mischievous look that is otherwise going on
Tumblr media
Coriolis is another banana stained dragon haha but this one looks much more autumnal than Rei does. I’m digging how much they look like a tree in a filtered photo, though I’m a little concerned as to their lore. Their bio has a picture of them looking at a book with arguably occult symbols. Is Coriolis sweet or are they going to be like someone that performs ritual sacrifices? I never know on this site lmao
Tumblr media
This dragon is Speckle and their colors + genes are AMAZING They just look so good!! Not sure if the lore in the bio is for them or for a different dragon, but, either, way Speckle is jaw-dropping. I think you’ve inspired another dream dragon for me tbh
Tumblr media
Tecolote’s ghost looks really good. I didn’t notice the green undertones of it until I read that the color is pistachio, but, the brown from the primary and secondary totally make it look lighter, giving them a spooky feel. Especially with those candles. Are they a ghost vaquero? Or do they just like the look? Either way they look really good
Tumblr media
Another really good ghost dragon!! Cinder is a lot more goth than Tecolote is. It even looks as if those are their bones peeking out from under the clothes. This is some excellent layering, and it makes everything pop and more 3d-ish. (I especially love the antlers+ crown + lace head piece)
Tumblr media
Inari!!! Such a good dragon! It’s like they were made to wear that accent! There’s a story of seasons character with the same name that’s a fox deity who is the cutest, so seeing this dragon fills me with glee and this warmth! Plus those fire eyes combined with those bells? Absolute genius
Tumblr media
Brigit at first glance isn’t anything too out there, but the simplicity of their design is really nice. I love  their colors, and that they’re a fire dragon, too. It makes them fit the accent’s theme just that much more and it works
Tumblr media
Polyhymia is dressed decadently. This is a dragon that has been spoiled, and, honestly? They probably deserve it. It’s hard sometimes to make it work with just the same apparel set (one dragon but a bunch of the same set pieces, I mean) but the skin helps piece it all together since the details draw the eye too. Also I guess that answers the question of Speckle’s lore haha
Tumblr media
NILE!! LOOKS!! SO!!! GOOD!! I love everything about this dragon. Beautiful colors that don’t distract from the accent. Apparel that matches the name and the apparel and the accent. Apparel that matches the accent. Eye color that helps the image. You do a really nice job of piecing together dragons with accents/ skins, I must say
Tumblr media
Oooooh, a lightning bab with some dark blue? Visionary. A lot of times I see some light blue apparel schemes for lightning dragons, which works, but there’s something here in the way you dressed Caeil that makes them stand out more. Especially the pinkish bits. They’re like a lightning storm at sunset
Tumblr media
Ajisai looks like something straight out a magical girl or shoujo anime. I love that the wings are blue, so I can actually see the accent on them, and that the antlers/glimmer plays into the little sparkles’ color so they look much more sparkly than either glimmer or the accent would make them look on their own
Tumblr media
Peitho looks either like a cursed or Shade-inflicted dragon. Are they either? They could also be some kind of spooky oracle, now that I’m thinking about it. The apparel + the accent is very ambiguous imo But that is part of the fun, after all. A good mystery doesn’t give all the answers away at first glance
Tumblr media
Vertex is another mysterious dragon. They’re a nature dragon, but their look screams Plague. I love the flower crown and the earring combined with the hair. It gives off a kind of hippie vibe. A Plague hippie. I like it lmao
Tumblr media
This accent is so cute, with the little birds and the footprints! Iris definitely comes across as a big softy, maybe a good snuggler for cold winter days? Or are they best for muggy days because they’re an ice dragon and can cool one down? Are they appreciative of non birds comings near them or are they strictly a friend of animals?
Tumblr media
Fleur is what I would imagine from someone saying they were pastel goth. There’s just enough pieces of light colors (wings, roses, belly, primary) and of dark pieces from the rose thorn set. The fairies are the perfect extra touch to complete the look. Please teach me how to apparel
Tumblr media
Cladent is so unique! Like a wendigo? I’m looking at the way you layered apparel to make them that fluffy but with the most soulless eyes ? I have no words to adequately describe how the way they look makes me feel but it’s all good things tbh
Tumblr media
Nova!! A beautiful dragon I thought was Light Flight for a moment but are instead just rocking the Golden Sage apparel. I forget how good a color Spruce is until I’ve seen it on a dragon, but Ginger + Maize is a surprisingly good combination
Tumblr media
Sunfall is such a sweet looking dragon! They look like some kind of filled chocolate or sweet, where the inside is mostly frosting and I’m in heaven. This is one of the few dragons I’ve seen where I’ve liked the look of Seraph? Might be their colors + apparel or f pose nocs might just rock it? Hmmm this requires further testing ;-P Seriously, though, the capsule color looks really nice contrasted against the darker primary and secondary colors, and when paired up with those eyes
Tumblr media
Last but certainly not least is Dantris! One of the few (if not the only) m pose nocs I’ve seen and liked? The apparel highlights the colors and makes them look so much cooler? Like the combination by itself is a soft, almost pastel, and the the apparel makes everything pop in the best of ways. Your lair has inspired me once again lmao

           Lore Share - Beginnings
How did your clan get its start? What brought them together? What started their story into motion?
The earliest bits of lore for Clan Maelstrom is this:
(Don’t ask how, don’t ask why. She can’t recall, nor does she want to.
But the lava flows and sulphur clouds of the Ashfall Wastes has always fascinated her and there she stayed until others began to join her.)
The unclaimed lands had been barren. Black rock, marked by heat haze and occasional patch of bright lichen. The lava finally cooled enough to support the hardiest forms of life.
For Aphelion, it was a place to stop, the respite she had been wandering for. Something about the flatness called her, a need to build, to leave some sign that she had been there.
And so she began.
Crack by crack, and furrow by furrow - the ground was broken - small roots, and study claws chipping industriously until rock became pebbles, and soil.
Borne of fire, Coriolis’ egg had only hatched after a passing inferno burned down the grove in which his egg had nested. The earliest memory he had was of plague rot and ash, charcoal stumps, stark against the grey sky, crumbling from fire damage. The faint smell of mold, encouraged by the last rain.
He was a mirror, hungry in his own way for a sense of home. An anchor that could draw him back over and over again.
And he had.
The dark piles of rock and dirt had been curious. The tundra digging them even more so. They didn’t warm up to each other for weeks, but he had lurked around the area, sleeping in the excavated caves at night, moving off and back with little bits of food (anything but lichen), and items that could be useful.
Or just pretty to look at.
Most of it went into the earth - and the land grew.
