Reflecting on 2021
I thought that I’d write a post about a few of the things that have happened to me this year.
First off, I started getting more into Warcraft lore this year. (I had only been a little bit into Warcraft lore in the past, and I didn’t get into it any further back then.) I bought and downloaded the audiobooks of The Well of Eternity, The Demon Soul, and The Sundering. A little while later, I bought those books in paperback format (so that I could get through them quicker than I could listening to the audiobooks of them). I listened to most of the audiobook of The Well of Eternity before reading the rest of the book from where I last was in the audiobook (as I hadn’t gotten that book in paperback format yet when I started listening to the audiobook of it). Then, I started to read The Demon Soul, but I stopped after chapter 11 and I haven’t resumed reading it. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve listened to and read so far, to say the least. The reason why I started getting more into Warcraft lore is that I wanted to find out more information about Cenarius; I’ve been having dreams about Cenarius for years, but I knew barely anything about him all those years.
In late April, I found out that Pepsi Blue was coming back for a limited time (and for the first time since 2004) the following month. I was glad to hear about that; I had Pepsi Blue when it first came out, and it was one of my favorite sodas. So, I bought several six-packs of it in 16.9 oz. bottles and bought a few 20 oz. bottles of it. It had a different look, but it tasted as good as I remembered.
Near the end of the year, I started to think about something more serious. If a god or a deity has been taking the form of Cenarius in my dreams about Cenarius and has been reaching out to me in these dreams, I started to wonder if I should follow that god or deity. A huge part of me said that it probably wouldn’t hurt and was like, “What have I got to lose?” if I decide to follow that god or deity. At the same time, it would be a big step for me and be a big change in my life, as I’ve never followed a god or a deity before in my life so far. Also, I personally would rather do some research on things like nature religions first before making that decision. So, the closest that I came to making that decision was thinking, “Maybe I should follow that god or deity.”
During the last month of the year, I did something that I had never done before: I ordered a few Seiko watches online. Up until I ordered the first of those watches online, I had always bought watches in person (mainly because I personally prefer to see watches in person before I buy them).
Also, during the last month of the year, I found out the identities of two songs that I heard when I was young but didn’t know the identities of for over 20 years: 1. “Give It to Me Baby” by the late Rick James (I heard this song either in a commercial or on the radio; all that I remembered of it throughout the years was the title lyric and the first horn riff in the chorus) 2. “Transatlantic Access” by FirstCom (I heard a clip of this song on Sneak Prevue, and it’s the song that I referred to in this post when I mentioned a clip of a techno song that has the sound of a whale repeated throughout)
I didn’t have any unpleasant memories on my mind on a daily basis at any point in time this year, so for me, this year was a better year mentally than last year was.
Here’s hoping that 2022 will be a good year!
