Cookie's 18th Birthday Bash Countdown Event

"Welcome, everyone! I hope you'll enjoy yourselves as we count the days until the very special day!"

The Big Day!!!

As you all may know now, my birthday's coming up. A hundred days until the date to be exact. And this year is extra special because I'm turning 18!

I wanted to do something special to celebrate so I made this event ^^

Cookie's 18th Birthday Bash Countdown Event will be divided into two:

• Cookie's Writing Challenge, and

• Cookie's Doodle Challenge

For those who want to participate, here are the rules for Cookie's Writing Challenge:

- I made a list of prompts on my notes and every day, a prompt-of-the-day would be announced until the big day.

- Not necessarily birthday-related, participants will use the prompt-of-the-day to create a story using their OCs (or x Reader if you don't have one yet ^^).

- The participants can also use my OCs for their story for interaction (their character sheets are on my side blog @cookie-arts )

- Participants are not required to write for every prompt-of-the day announced.

- The participants can write entries for these fandoms:

Cookie’s Writing Challenge Day Seven: Beach/Sea

Prompt: Beach/Sea

Pairing: Leviathan && Amber (MC) [ Romantic Relationship ]

Status: Dating

Genre: Tooth-rotting fluff 🥰 (I think?)

First dates are important, so Levi thinks so he decided to take Amber out on a Beach Date and it goes better than he thought it would

A few weeks into the relationship, Levi hadn't taken Amber out on a proper date so far. One of the reasons was how he wanted the first date to be a good one since first dates are always important. It took him some time to figure out on where to go on a first date.

In the end, he decided on a beach date as a first date. It took him some time to prepare since he had to get Diavolo's permission to be able to use the beach for a date and he also had to tell Lucifer about what he was up to.

Thankfully, Lucifer got the gist and made sure the rest of the brothers wouldn't know or bother their date and now here both Amber and Levi were at the empty beach.

Levi observed how Amber wasted no time to set down their beach towels and set up the beach umbrella after finding a good spot so they can sit in the shade anytime they wanted. When he asked Amber out on this date, it took every ounce of his courage to be able to do so.

He seriously had no idea what to do the moment he got to the beach other than help Amber set up everything. It made him start to have doubts if this was a good idea for a first date. it started to make him feel nervous and think that she wouldn't enjoy this and would not want to date him anymore. Levi's mind was a mess with all these thoughts running rampant in his head.

"Levi?"

He instantly snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Amber's familiar voice that was laced with worry and concern. He looked up from the ground, making eye contact with her golden brown eyes. He noticed the worried look on her face.

"Are you okay?"

He pursed his lips and looked away to the side. He glanced down to see Amber holding his hand, making him blush a little as he let out a sigh.

"I'm alright..."

Levi mumbled, no longer making eye contact, making Amber even more worried as she squeezed his hand a little.

"You know you can tell me anything that's bothering. Tell me what's on your mind, please?"

Levi at first didn't want to say anything but he knew Amber had every right to know what was going on in his head or else he'd make her worry more and he didn't want that right now when they were alone at the beach on a date.

"It's just... I'm worried about accidentally ruining our first date. I know you never went on dates with anyone and that this is the first time you're on a date so I really wanted to make it special for you but..."

Levi trailed off not knowing what else to say. Amber on the other hand was shocked after hearing what he said. she felt touched that Levi was worried about ruining her first date with him or anyone for that matter.

Amber let go off Levi's hand as she slowly walked towards him a bit more and cupped both sides of his face, making him look at her. She gave him a warm smile and leaned over to give him a small peck on the cheek which made him flinch slightly in surprise.

"I'm touched that you wanted to make my first ever date special. But you don't have to worry about ruining anything. Sometimes first dates don't always go according to plan or that smoothly. It's natural for something to happen every now and then. Even if we're not on a date, I still enjoy being in your presence and spending time with you. Just being with you is enough to make me happy."

Levi was left stunned by her words. He didn't know what to say.

"Amber..."

He trailed off once again, feeling tears welling up in his eyes as he quickly wiped them off. Amber gave him a reassuring smile once more before gently grabbing his hand, slowly pulling him with you towards the direction of the sea.

Levi silently followed her but held onto her hand in a secure manner. He knew she couldn't swim very well even if she was able to breathe underwater thanks to their pact.

Both of them continued to walk until the water reached below the knee. Levi wasn't sure why Amber had pulled him towards the sea but coming in contact with it made him feel at ease and the sea breeze itself made him calm his nerves down.

Amber noticed how calm he was feeling, making her feel happy that he was feeling a bit better.

"Let's just try to enjoy ourselves today. We still have a whole day to go you know. We can be here as long as possible."

She told him as Levi smiled a bit and sheepishly nodded.

"Okay."

She heard him say, making her smile even more. That's when she got a cheeky idea. Without any warning she gave him a small peck on the lips, making him stunned as she pulled away and started to walk away from him.

After a few seconds, Levi came back to his senses as he realizes what just happened.

"Wha- Hey come back here!"

Levi called out as he chased after Amber as she giggled and ran away from him. Both of them running around the sea as the water splashed around them. After what seemed like hours, Levi managed to catch up to Amber.

"Gotcha!"

She heard him say as he picked her up from the ground, making her squeal and laugh as he spun her around as Levi laughed along with her.

Levi no longer worried about ruining their date. As long as he had Amber by his side, he knew today would be the best day of his life and their first date would be memorable.

introduction

this baby was born and raised in chicago to one of the most affluent members of the community . her mother , ada , was a highly regarded socialite , as well as devoted church attendee . immense pressure is one of the first childhood memories genevieve can recall and she has her mother to thank for that . on the other side of the spectrum was her father , hong-hyun , who’s a world renowned restauranteur and owner of the million dollar business chain funky gourmet . gen always strived for his love and approval and yet no matter how hard she tried to get his attention , all efforts seemed to fail , seeing as he was too busy building a brand .

her childhood pretty much consisted of forced church going , unwanted molding by her mother and lack of affection in her home life , which only led to later permanent damage . at the age of 15 , gen started hanging with the wrong crowds purposely , hoping that her dad would show the least bit of worry , but alas . she started drinking regularly and gradually more excessively , while picking up smoking and minor drug abuse . old habits die hard and she’s still to this day very seperated from the sober life she used to lead .

in her mother’s eyes , genevieve had always been a failure ; never looked proper enough , didn’t have the morals she’d so desperately tried to shove down her her throat , refused to train towards being the perfect daughter . that is precisely the reason why , no matter their familial bond , gen always despised ada , but she’d never thought of harming her in any way until the day of her 18th birthday , where gen witnessed her mom cheating on her beloved dad with one of their closest family friends who had attended the celebration . in a fit of rage , she stole a huge amount of money from the restaurant and framed her mother , transferring the deposit to her personal bank account and showing the evidence to leo , who then proceeded to sue his wife and file for divorce .

gen didn’t expect her mother to get any jail time , mostly due to the fact that she wasn’t used to dealing with the consequences of her actions , but turns out ada served three years behind bars , before eventually being released only to return to an empty home . gen and her dad moved to ny after the incident with the opening of a new restaurant as a cover up , in an attempt to keep things under wraps . genevieve initially thought that once her mother was out of the picture , perhaps she and her father would spend much more quality time together and yet she’d been proven wrong once more . the only chance she has to accompany him is in the kitchen when he’s trying out new recipes , but she’d take that all she can get .

as u may have noticed , gen is my bitch daughter , so naturally she is a bitch . she’s one to hold a grudge and if you’ve got beef with her , she will literally devour u if she can . now she’s also a pretty decent friend , very energetic and giving to the ones she truly loves and opens up to . my girl is also super explosive , spontaneous and upbeat , depending on who she’s surrounded by . she’s legit the life of the party and might spend an entire day either drinking or baking . if she threatens u that means she’s flirting so pls don’t be afraid she doesn’t bite unless..

how’s the pandemic treating you? In New Zealand we have very low active cases so everything is basically back to normal. I wish more people would wear masks in public but other than that, the pandemic overseas looks very different from ours.

recommend a movie? Can I just suggest Studio Ghibli movies as a whole instead? I don’t really watch enough movies to have one that sticks out to recommend.

Cookie's Writing Challenge Day One: Sweets

Prompt of the day: Sweets

Pairing: Riddle Rosehearts x Elyssabeth Alcyone (OC)

Genre: Fluff

Summary: Riddle tries to make a strawberry cheesecake for the prefect after learning that it's her favorite.

Warning: Might be a little OOC; the writer's craving fluff again. Also a bit rusty in writing so maybe a few grammatical errors here and there. I got carried away so it's kinda lengthy ^^;

"Nothing compares with a sweet treat after studying..." Elyssabeth sighed in delight as she savored the sweetness of the strawberry tart.

It was an ordinary day, and as usual, the Ramshackle Dorm prefect spent her afternoon in Heartslabyul's rose garden studying with its housewarden.

She wouldn't admit it loudly, but this is her favorite part of the day. There is nothing else but her, him, the garden, and sweets.

"I'm delighted to see you enjoying yourself, Prefect... Hm?"

"What's wrong?" Elyssabeth eyed Riddle curiously.

"Oh. Nothing. It's just–" Riddle looked down at the plate of strawberry tart in front of him. "the strawberry tart tastes a little different than usual."

Elyssabeth tilted her head. "Different...? Oh! You must've gotten the tart I made."

"You made this?" Riddle blinked in surprise.

"Yes. Does it taste bad...?"

"No, no! It's delicious–!" The redhead cleared his throat to compose himself. "I was simply caught off-guard because it tastes a little different from Trey's."

"I see..." Elyssabeth let out the breath she was unconsciously holding and beamed at him. "I'm glad you liked it."

"...I never knew you could bake," Riddle says as he cuts a piece of his tart.

"I'm not surprised," Elyssabeth hums. "Most people have the same reaction as yours when I say I like and bake sweets. They say I don't look like someone who likes sweet things."

"They're quite wrong with that assumption."

"Oh my, how perceptive of you, Mr. Housewarden. Have I gotten your attention so much that you notice even the smallest details about me?" The girl chuckled when her teasing made Riddle's cheeks red.

"Who wouldn't notice your fondness for sweet food when they see how many plates of pastries you can gobble up in one sitting?!" Riddle huffs.

"Aww, and here I thought I finally managed to steal your heart," Elyssabeth sighs dramatically. She let out another chuckle when the redhead glared at her.

"Changing the subject, how did you learn how to make sweets?" Riddle took a sip from his teacup to hide his still-red cheeks.

"My mother is a pastry chef and owns a café specializing in desserts. We used to make my favorite strawberry cheesecake together when I was a kid, and then it progressed to me learning different recipes from her and two of my uncles. The rest is history."

Riddle felt a pang of sadness in his chest when he noticed a gleam of loneliness and homesickness in Elyssabeth's eyes.

She likes to tease him and is constantly smiling whenever she's with the friends she made in NRC, so it seems like she is doing alright, but this moment of vulnerability made him wonder if all of that was just an act to get herself through the day.

"...You must miss your family, huh?"

"Pardon?"

"You're suddenly thrown into a different world and separated from your family with no sure chance of returning, so it's understandable for you to feel homesick. I admit I don't have a close relationship with my parents unlike other students, so I cannot say I can relate to what you're experiencing."

Riddle put his teacup down to its saucer. There was a thick silence between them for a moment, and only then did he realize that he had spoken his thoughts out loud.

"Forgive me, I've spoken out of line."

Elyssabeth raised her hand. "Don't apologize. You... have a point. I cannot deny that I am homesick. However..." she smiled at him tenderly. "Nothing will come out of me moping in a corner. If I want to get back home, I need to find a way, no matter how impossible it may seem. I appreciate your concern, though."

"...If you say so."

A grin made its way to her face once again.

"Alright, that's enough talking about heavy topics. As much as I'd like to extend our time together, I must excuse myself since I need to check on Grim to see if he's doing his homework or not."

Riddle chuckled. "It must be hard looking after a troublemaker like him. If you need some help with disciplining him, just say the word."

"He's a headache, sure, but he's not that bad. He has a way to make things brighter in Ramshackle. Anyways, I must thank you for the lovely time I had, Mr. Housewarden. Until next time."

"Likewise."

After seeing her out, Riddle went back to the conversation they had earlier.

"...A strawberry cheesecake, huh?"

"Trey, are you in here?"

"...Riddle? Do you need something?"

Another ordinary day. As usual, Trey Clover was working in the kitchen when Riddle peeked from the kitchen door.

"Not exactly. I was just wondering if we have the ingredients to make a strawberry cheesecake."

"Strawberry cheesecake? We do, although not much. If you want strawberry cheesecakes for the next Unbirthday party, then we need to stock on–"

"No, no, that's not what I meant."

Trey blinked when Riddle cut him off.

"You don't need to make strawberry cheesecakes for the Unbirthday party. I'm just... in the mood for one right now. And I was hoping you could help me make one."

The vice-housewarden raised an eyebrow at his friend's strange behavior before an idea came to his mind that made him smile.

"Ah, I see. So you finally knew what the prefect's favorite food was."

His smile became a teasing grin when Riddle flinched at what he said. Bingo.

"It's to console a homesick friend."

"Right. Of course."

He laughed when the redhead frowned at him.

"It's a nice idea to make her favorite food," Trey says as he puts the ingredients and utensils on the kitchen counter.

"...You think so?" Riddle looked at the third year with uncharacteristic nervousness in his eyes.

"Mmhm. And I'm sure she'll appreciate it." Trey gave his housewarden an assuring smile.

"So, shall we begin making a strawberry cheesecake?"

"Finished at last!"

Riddle smiled as he watched Elyssabeth stretch her arms upward after finishing the last of her assignments. He put two plates in front of them.

"Good job. Take a break."

"Thank you."

The girl paused when she saw what was on her plate.

"This is..."

"It's a strawberry cheesecake. It's been weighing on my mind since our last conversation. You've always been going out of your way to help Heartslabyul, and I realized that I've never properly given my thanks to you."

Riddle took a deep breath before continuing.

"I know it's not the same as the way your mother made it for you, and I know it's not enough to quell your homesickness, but I hope you know that your friends are here for you. We're here for you. And you can talk to us anytime you want."

"...Riddle."

He winced when he heard her say his name.

"That's– that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. And..."

Elyssabeth held her fork and took a piece of the cheesecake and smiled.

"The cheesecake's delicious. Thank you."

Riddle smiled back at her after a few moments.

He wouldn't admit it, but she may have succeeded a bit in stealing his heart.

Sunflowers. In the human world, it represents joy and happiness. A flower associated with the sun.

Bright.

Lively.

Shining.

It was a flower that she always adored. He remembered how her eyes sparkled as she gently caressed its petals with her thumb when he brought her one for the first time.

"You remembered that sunflowers are my favorite? It's lovely. Thank you, Luci!"

How can he forget? It was something that made her smile. And he can never forget the things that make his favorite human smile.

The sun never shines in the Devildom. It has always been like that. But when she smiled, it was like he was seeing the sunrise for the first time. Beautiful.

He vowed to himself that he would do anything to protect that smile of hers.

And that promise came to mind when he saw sunflowers displayed in front of a flower shop.

He was out in the human world for a business trip and was walking back to his hotel when he passed by the flower shop where the sunflowers were displayed. And before he knew it, he was already inside the flower shop talking to the florist.

"Hello. How can I help you today?"

"A bouquet of sunflowers, please."

"Right away, sir." The florist went inside to arrange the bouquet.

A few moments later, they returned with the bouquet in hand.

With a friendly smile, they handed the sunflower bouquet to him. "I'm sure your wife will love them, sir."

Wife. The two of them aren't married yet, but the prospect of her being called his wife doesn't sound so bad.

"She's not my wife... yet."

The florist's eyes widened. "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were already married."

"It's alright. They're lovely. Thank you."

He left the shop satisfied with what he bought, and the only thing that's left is to give it to her.

"Lucifer! You're back!"

She greeted him with her usual cheery voice, a hug, and a kiss on the cheek.

"I'm back. The others?"

"Mammon and Asmo are out, Satan, Belphie, and Levi are in their rooms, and Beel won't be back until 7 due to fangol practice."

He smiled. He took the bouquet he was hiding and gave it to her.

"Oh, Luci, they're beautiful! But... why? Is there a special occasion I'm forgetting, somehow?"

He frowned at her perplexed look. "Do I need a reason to surprise you?"

"W-well, no... I was just caught off-guard. I'm not used to receiving gifts for no reason."

He chuckled before placing a kiss on her head. "Well, you better get used to it, my dear."

Sunflowers. They represent joy and happiness. And Lucifer had found his sunflower, shining brightly under the Devildom's endless night sky.

"Camellia, you have to listen to me. You should take a day off tomorrow."

Solomon says with his arms crossed as he stands by Camellia's bedroom doorway, watching his exhausted apprentice flop down forward on her bed.

She's been coming home always looking worn out for the past few days and it's worrying him.

"And I told you, you don't have to worry about me. I'm doing fine. Just a little tired."

He sighed. Camellia's stubbornness was one of the things he loved about her. But it can also be troublesome at times, like this moment.

He walked towards her and sat on the edge of the bed. She was still lying on her stomach.

"Would someone who's doing fine complain about her aching shoulders and back almost every day?" He quipped while gently massaging her shoulders.

"Oh, come on. You know that I already had issues with my shoulders and back even before I came here– oof! You hit a spot!"

Solomon took his hands off her shoulders when she groaned. "Does it hurt?"

Camellia shook her head. He sighed again.

"I just don't want you to overwork yourself. I know it's your way of coping with your situation, but it wouldn't hurt to give some time to yourself to unwind. And you know I'm always here to lend an ear to you, right?"

"......"

After a moment of silence, Camellia rose from her position. Solomon moved a little to give her space.

"It's just... I can't help but sometimes think that I might not be able to find a way to go back to our time. That I might not be able to see my family and friends again. It's... it's a scary thought. I know you're also trying to find a way for me to get back. I just don't want to add more worries for you to think about."

Solomon's heart clenched at her quiet words.

"Nonsense. You will never be a burden to me, Camellia, so you don't need to worry about that. You can share your thoughts with me as much as you like. And we'll find a way to get you back, I promise," he assured her as he pulled her in for a hug.

"...Alright, I'll take the day off tomorrow. I'll call Lucifer later to tell him."

"Good."

They stayed in that position for a while. The silence between them was comforting.

"...Hey, Solomon?"

"Yes?"

"Did you, perhaps, cook something again?"

"...No."

Camellia pushed the white-haired sorcerer at arm's length.

"Lies. I can smell burnt food from your clothes."

"W-well... you were tired, so I can't let you use up your remaining energy to cook for us both! Please, Camellia...!"

She sighed as she watched her teacher fumble with his words trying to find excuses. Looks like her day isn't quite over yet.
