Ord & Yale Street Park, 524 Ord St, Los Angeles (Chinatown), CA 90012
Tumblr media
The Ord & York pocket park opened in late 2021. It’s a gorgeous park on the edge of Chinatown, next to the Chinatown Public Library. Vagrants have always hung out in that area and they’re at the park now. Even worse, there’s graffiti all over the restrooms and picnic area. I’d be afraid to use the restroom. I heard someone yelling in there. A homeless person was sleeping in the playground and there wasn’t one child using the playground. In fact, the only people in the park were homeless. No one was using the picnic and game tables and someone left trash on the tables.
But the park is still very pretty and has a red entrance that looks Chinese. It’s half an acre and on a hillside. There are viewing platforms and exercise equipment, plus decorated stairs with inspiring messages. The landscaping, plants, trees, and waterfall still look nice. There’s a mix of trees from Asian and native plants.
I fear that in a few years, the park is going to be completely trashed.

I know Rockstar has said each of their games have separate universes like the 2D universe and the 3D universe and the HD universe but I think that's fucking stupid
I think each of their games take place in one universe (minus the Max Payne games)
The earliest in the timeline being Red Dead Revolver and the latest in the timeline being Grand Theft Auto 6

Why is it that comfort movies are always either filled with murder, conspiracy or hot people? Like sure you have the *classic* comfort movies, but there is nothing better than a hot policeman obsessing over a murder case or a sleazy criminal barely managing to escape with their life in a risky situation. It just hits you right in the feels. Please tell me other people find gritty, violent movies comforting.

Capsule Parfumerie, 441 Gin Ling Way, Los Angeles (Chinatown), CA 90012
Tumblr media
Capsule Parfumerie is a Los Angeles artisanal fragrance house. The perfumer, Linda Sivrican, also founded Sesame and Sesame Dinette. They have seven brands of fragrances. I’m not sure how they’re different but one brand was more botanical, one desert inspired, one musk-centric, one leather inspired, etc.
They have coffee beans and scent strips. If you tell them what types of scents you favor, they can point out the ones you might prefer. The ingredients are globally sourced, vegan, and cruelty free.
They also sell art, books, candles, home fragrance, incense, and teas – but most of the store is devoted to perfumes. A larger bottle of perfume is about $200.
Some of the scents, like the one I wanted, were sold out. The bottles and labels were simple but elegant.
The Stroopwafel perfume smelled like vanilla, caramel, waffles, and coffee.
The clerk was very patient and told me about so many of the scents. It’s a gorgeous space.
They even have workshops where you can make your own perfume. Online shopping is available and they'll send samples.
