Evidence
Lukadrien Fluffuary (using this prompt list) Day 22: Sincere Flattery Prev | Next Read it on Ao3 Words: 1227 Rating: T Tags: Post-Reveal Lukadrien, Minor djwifi, Miraculous side effects “So you’re serious?” Alya raised an eyebrow. “I think it would take a pretty strong connection to a Miraculous for something like that to happen. It does seem like a possibility, I guess. Just, really unlikely.”
“It’s possible, and it happened.” Luka smiled, amused at her disbelief. “And Adrien has been a Miraculous holder longer than any of us have been, if anyone is going to be dealing with something like that it’s him.”
“Dude, we are gonna need some evidence for this one.” Nino hummed.
“Evidence of what?” Adrien walked up just in time to hear the end of their conversation. He had to run an errand before the movie and was just trying to make it in time. “I hope I’m not late.”
“You’re not late.” Luka ignored the question entirely. Then he grabbed Adrien’s hand and placed a kiss on the back of it. “And you know I’d wait forever for you.”
The blonde tilted his head at the way Luka said those words. His boyfriend’s tone had shifted lower as he spoke. It wasn’t as if they didn’t flirt with each other constantly, or that his own theatrical style of flirting hadn’t rubbed off on Luka over time, but there was just something suspicious that Adrien couldn’t place.
What had he interrupted?
What evidence was Nino talking about?
“Thanks?” Adrien couldn’t hide the confusion in his voice. Alya and Nino exchanged a knowing glance that only added to the suspicious feeling. He decided to laugh it off lightheartedly instead of dwell on it too much. “You know I’d wait for you too, m’love. But I don’t think the movie will. Guess we should go ahead and go in.”
“We have a few minutes.” Luka stepped closer as their fingers laced together naturally. Then the guitarist looked around them and seemed satisfied that no one was too close by. “You know I think you’re incredible right? You’re the other half of my heart’s song."
Adrien swallowed. It’s not like he hadn’t heard all of this before. His boyfriend knew exactly how to play his heartstrings. The way the conversation shifted when he arrived had him feeling like he had interrupted something.
“You know I feel the same way about you babe.” Adrien’s head tilted again. “But what were you guys talking about?”
“We were talking about you actually.” Nino blurted out.
Alya nudged him with her elbow.
“What!?” Nino rubbed his arm. “We were!”
“It was nothing bad, promise.” Alya clarified.
Luka laughed and squeezed Adrien’s hand. “How could it be anything bad if it was about you?”
“Oh, you are laying it on thick right now.” Adrien narrowed his eyes.
“Am I?” Luka smiled innocently, but Adrien knew better. “Or are you just so amazing, brave, talented, kind, handsome, and wonderful that I can’t help myself?”
“Lukaaaa…” Adrien whined as he felt his cheeks heat up. He was sure there was an ulterior motive for the words Luka was saying. Yet, Adrien also knew that his boyfriend meant every word. They were from Luka’s heart. “What is going on?”
“Why do you think something’s up?” Luka’s voice was as sweet as sugar and he seemed amused at Adrien’s distress. “I just want to remind you of how awesome I think you are.”
Luka took Adrien’s other hand so they were standing face to face. He leaned in so their foreheads touched.
“This is a double date m’love, aren’t you afraid we might be making it a little awkward?” Adrien’s words packed no punch as Luka looked lovingly into his eyes.
“Not at all.” Luka answered sincerely.
The blonde felt his suspicions melt away. “I love you.”
“I love you too, my muse.” Luka pulled back just enough to start tilting his head. His eyes darted to his love’s lips.
Adrien found himself doing the same. His eyes closed as their lips made contact.
The kiss was very short lived.
A rumble began in Adrien’s chest. The sound was fairly loud, but he quickly cut it off by jumping back and coughing theatrically.
“Sorry, sorry. I must have swallowed a bug or something.” His green eyes looked around frantically as he continued his performance. Once he realized no one was close enough to hear what just happened, the situation suddenly made sense.
He crossed his arms and glared at Luka. “AHA! I knew you were being suspicious! So, that’s what you guys were talking about.”
His boyfriend just shrugged. “They wanted evidence and you said it didn’t just happen on command, thought I could coax it out of you like usual.”
“Fair enough.”
“Oh. My. God.” Alya reached up and ruffled Adrien’s hair. “You really are taking this catboy thing pretty far there, Sunshine.”
“Not gonna lie, that’s adorable dude.” Nino laughed.
“I have no shame whatsoever about being the team’s resident catboy, thank you very much.” Adrien stated proudly.
“Probably part of the reason you have that side effect, Kid.” Plagg peaked out from Adrien’s hoodie pocket. “You don’t have an issue embracing that aspect of your powers.”
“Mmmhmm.” Alya lifted an eyebrow at the kwami. “You don’t think the fact that he has such a close bond with you and the Miraculous doesn’t have an effect on that too?”
“Maaaybe.” Plagg looked softly up at Adrien and then ducked back into the pocket. He wasn’t much for the ‘mushy’ stuff when other people were around. But they knew that the bond Plagg had with Adrien was stronger than any he’d had with the holders of the past.
“But uh… I mean, this is a pretty specific side effect.” Adrien rubbed the back of his neck. “So, I guess I need to be careful so no one figures out my identity from it.”
“Personally, I think the coughing is a pretty good cover up.” Nino said approvingly. “People make all kinds of weird noises anyway, I wouldn’t have thought it was a purr if I didn’t know about it.”
“I think it’s a good go to. That and you two not letting the PDA get too out of hand in public.” Alya winked at the couple. Then she grabbed Nino’s hand and started walking towards the theater doors. “We should get in here though, before we do miss the movie.”
Luka’s fingers intertwined with Adrien’s again and he started walking forward. But Adrien stood still, stopping Luka in his tracks.
The guitarist turned to face Adrien. “You okay?”
“Just thinking about how lucky I am. I have good friends and an amazing boyfriend who are understanding and accepting of me even with all of my flaws and quirks.” Adrien smiled softly.
The smile was contagious to Luka. “We’re all just as lucky to have you in our lives too. And I happen to love your quirks.”
“Sorry for cutting off that kiss.” Adrien smirked mischievously. He scanned around them to make sure no one was too close, then he quickly leaned in and pressed their lips together.
He received a content hum from Luka as a result. This time Adrien felt the rumble in his chest and let it flow naturally.
The sensation wasn’t unfamiliar to either of them, but it happening outside of their super hero personas was certainly something they’d have to get used to.
It was a short, sweet kiss. They did have a movie to get to after all.

A Simple Word
Lukadrien Fluffuary (using this prompt list) Day 23: Forehead Kiss/Touch Prev | Next Read it on Ao3 Words: 1142 Rating: T Tags: Post-Reveal Lukadrien, Married, Soft, Silly A bowl of mostly eaten popcorn sat on the coffee table accompanied by candy wrappers and empty cans of sodas. It was Luka’s idea to have a movie marathon. A lazy night in, just the two of them. They watched their favorite movies together, quoting the best lines, singing the songs, throwing popcorn for the other to catch in their mouths, and sharing all of the little facts they knew about each film.
They were over halfway through the fourth movie of the night when Luka stretched out across the couch. His body took up the length of the sofa, crossing over Adrien’s lap so that his head was propped up on what should have been his husband’s soft armrest.
“Just getting more comfortable.” Luka said with a yawn.
“Suuuure, you are.” Adrien knew better.
He couldn’t help but reach down and play with his husband’s long black and blue hair. Even though he knew it would only prove to lure Luka to sleep faster. Adrien turned his attention back to the screen, but it was only a few minutes later that he heard a shift in Luka’s breathing. When he looked down the man was fast asleep.
Adrien laughed softly and whispered. “That’s what I thought, babe."
When the credits did eventually roll, Adrien found that his own eyes were sleepy. That was enough movies for the night. Of course now there was the issue of getting off the couch.
He looked down at Luka to see a face illuminated in warm light from the lamp they’d left on. The blonde couldn’t help the way he admired every feature as if they were details of a priceless piece of art. His fingers traced along Luka’s jawline, amused to feel the stubble there. Then his eyes landed on lips he had kissed countless times. Lips he’d kiss countless more.
Because this was his soulmate.
His love.
His husband.
“I can’t believe you’re mine.” Adrien kept his voice low as he leaned down and lightly kissed Luka’s forehead. “You’re so beautiful.”
When Adrien pulled back, blue eyes were blinking back up at him.
“Is that all I am to you… a pretty face?” Luka teased, though he certainly knew the answer.
“No.” Adrien breathed out with fervor and devotion that Luka hadn’t been prepared for.
That one word struck directly to the guitarist’s heart. The weight behind it brought to mind other things Adrien had told him in the past. Words of understanding, adoration, devotion, and love.
Adrien had simply said No.
But Luka heard, “You are always there for others, let me be the one who’s there for you. Your feelings matter too.”
Adrien had simply said No.
But Luka heard, “I’m starting to think that maybe, just maybe, our inner melodies are meant to be played together.”
Adrien had simply said No.
But Luka heard, “I adore you. No one makes me feel the way that you do. I love your heart, your soul. Luka, I love you.”
Adrien had simply said No.
But Luka heard, “M’love, I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
When Luka's body caught up with his mind he was gripping Adrien’s pajama shirt. He tugged on it and Adrien complied enthusiastically. Their lips crashed together with passion. Luka let out a content hum that was answered by the purr rumbling from his husband’s chest.
When they finally parted Adrien narrowed his eyes and shot Luka a very not-so-innocent looking grin. “All I said was ‘No.’ Didn’t mean to get you all worked up.”
Luka rolled his eyes. “That is not how you said it.”
“Sure it is, you asked if I thought you were just a pretty face and I said—“
“No.” Luka cut Adrien off by imitating exactly how he had said it earlier.
To which Adrien paused for a moment only to lean back down and kiss Luka all over again.
When they parted for the second time, Luka laughed. “See what I mean?”
“Yeah, I think I do—” Adrien’s words were interrupted by a yawn he couldn’t stifle.
They both laughed sleepily at the interruption.
“I think we could both use some rest, my Muse.”
“Yeah, but I’d like to sleep in our bed. Which requires you getting up.”
Luka groaned as the sleepiness hit him again with full force. “I want to sleep in our bed too."
“Pfft. Well, then get up.” Adrien chuckled and nudged him but the taller man didn’t seem to want to move at all.
After a few seconds Luka sighed. “Fine."
Then he proceeded to take the blanket with him as he rolled off the couch and landed unceremoniously in the floor.
“Well that’s one way to do it.” Adrien stood up on the couch cushion and hopped easily over the back. He walked into the bedroom only to turn around when he realized Luka wasn’t following him. “So… you coming or what?”
“Snakes can’t walk.” Luka’s groggy voice was muffled into the blanket.
“Oh really?” Adrien’s lips curved into a smile. He loved that he was the one who got to see Luka’s silliest side the most often. “Well, I guess you’re slithering to bed then? Better get to it.”
“Adrieeen.”
The floor was hardwood and Adrien knew from constantly sliding around in his socks what Luka had in mind. So, he walked over and grabbed the edge of the blanket Luka was wrapped in.
The blonde shook his head as he spoke, “You know, I’m afraid if I don’t do this you’ll actually sleep on the floor. Which I’m purr-ty sure you’d regret in the morning."
Adrien began pulling on the blanket. Luka was easy enough to slide into the bedroom. Once he got him to the side of the bed Adrien let go.
“Well, that’s your stop.” The blonde crawled into bed. All the while laughing at the groan from Luka’s direction. “I’m glad we have such a nice, comfy bed. So warm and cozy. With these awesome pillows. It’d be too bad if I had to sleep here alone.”
Adrien got under the comforter and counted to three silently.
He heard Luka sigh, then watched as the man lazily crawled up into the bed to join him.
“It is pretty comfy.” Luka agreed, his words barely comprehensible because of his sleepy state.
Adrien cuddled close and wrapped his arms around his husband. The contact bringing on a soft content purr. “Love you”
“Love you too.”
//////////////////
Plagg and Sass had been woken up by Luka's flop onto the floor and watched the scene unfold.
"Was all of that really necessary? Our holders are strange." Plagg observed.
"They're also the best we've ever had." Sass said matter-of-factly.
The black kwami nodded in agreement. "They are. Strange and the best aren't mutually exclusive my friend. They are living proof of that."

Heartbeat - A Danny Phantom Fic
Summary: Everything is going according to plan. Jack and Maddie have Danny Phantom strapped to the exam table, equipment ready to go. Before any cuts are made they use a stethoscope to take notes on the sounds of the ghost's core. They hear a steady hum, something they expected. What they didn't expect was the slow, steady thump accompanying it. A sound that makes them seriously question what they had planned on doing. Rating: T Words: 5780 Tags: Identity Reveal, Angst with a happy ending, protective Jazz Fenton Read it on Ao3 /////////////// Danny capped the Fenton thermos and yawned. He lost track of just how many ghosts he’d had to fight the past few days. On top of that, he’d had school to deal with. 5 hours of sleep in the last 72 hours was not enough. He was absolutely exhausted. The town finally seemed quiet. Maybe the ghost he’d just fought was the last one for the evening? Maybe he could actually get some sleep tonight? The ghost boy flew towards his home. Suddenly glowing green netting surrounded him from below. It had a strong smell that he couldn’t place, it was flowery but had an undertone of ectoplasm. The aroma was pleasant and calming, maybe a little too calming. “I guess a peaceful night’s sleep was too much to hope for.” He groaned. A fog settled deeper over him as he found himself falling from to the ground. “Wh-what?” A panicked thought hit him. He might have been exhausted but the netting was obviously accelerating his journey to unconsciousness. His body slammed into the ground, but it barely registered to him in his groggy state. “Jack! We got Phantom! Let’s get this ghost to the lab!” Maddie’s excitement made Danny’s stomach drop. He wanted to speak but no words would come to him. His eyelids fluttered closed. “I can’t believe it worked!” Jack exclaimed. “That old folktale about the ghost lavender was true! We did it Mads! We can finally find out what makes this ghost tick! We’ll finally have—“ Danny couldn’t make out any words in their conversation after that. It was like he was hearing them from underwater. His fight to stay awake was in vain. He had one last thought before he slipped into oblivion. Don’t change back.
//////////////////////////////// Danny woke up with the same sensation he’d fallen asleep with. The voices around him were too muffled to make out. He still felt exhausted. Which annoyed him. If he was going to get knocked out by his ghost hunting parents and brought to the lab could he at least be knocked out long enough to catch up on sleep? His head slowly cleared, but he didn’t open his eyes. He moved both arms slightly only to find his wrists were restrained. If it was his parent’s lab, he knew the restraints were ghost proof. Still he gave intangibility a try. The restraints held as he thought they would. His legs were strapped down securely with multiple straps across them. The cool metal against his back let him know he was on an exam table. Fear tried to rise up in him. He was on an exam table. In his parent’s lab. This was the stuff of nightmares. He’d had plenty of them just like this. Although, in many of them he was cut open. Something told him they weren’t looking at him at the moment, but he still didn’t dare open his eyes. What kind of sight would he see once he did? He tried to calm himself and his mind cleared a little more. Finally his parent’s muffled words started to make sense. “I just don’t understand it.” He heard his mother turn a page on her clipboard. “That shouldn’t be possible at all.” “Maybe the spook is faking it?” Jack suggested. “Faking a heartbeat? While unconscious?” Maddie sounded skeptical. “If he were awake perhaps, but he hasn’t been. If he were faking it, wouldn’t he know that heartbeats should be faster than that? It’s so slow.” “True. Maybe it’s the ghost core making the heartbeat noise? I would think it would be the closest thing to a heart for a ghost.” “But we can hear the humming of the core too.” “Every now and then the chest rises and falls. Like it’s taking breaths.” Jack sounded as uncertain as his mother now. “We’ve got a very strange ghost on our hands. Although, I suppose we’ve known Phantom was different for a while.” Danny could hear them writing notes as they spoke. It was true, he realized he didn’t have to breathe as a ghost, but often found himself doing it anyway. As far as his heart, he was glad for the steady but slow beat he could always find when he started to question his own existence. It was slow, very slow, but it was there and he would hold onto that as comfort. Now, that same slow beat was causing his parents to rethinking things. “There’s his mannerisms too. Whoever this ghost was, they died recently. Maybe that’s why the ghostly body is doing these things? It hasn’t quite accepted its own death?” “This ghost. We both seem to agree it is someone who died and not an entity formed some other way. Well, if that’s true and they died looking similar to this. They were so young.“ Jack faltered. “Seeing the spook this close, it looks so lifelike. So…” Maddie sighed. “I see it too, Jack.” Human. They wanted to examine a ghost, but so far this particular ghost seemed more human than they expected and it was causing them to hesitate. The word might have been unsaid, but it allowed Danny some hope. Exam table. His brain reminded him causing that panic to try to rise up again. Danny squeezed his eyes shut tighter. He didn’t feel any pain, but he decided to try to take inventory of himself. He started by wiggling his toes discretely, they were in his boots still. Starting from there he made his way up, growing calmer as he realized he was in one piece. As far as he could tell there were no cuts on him. A sigh of relief escaped him. His parent’s conversation halted and he could feel their eyes on him. “You heard that too right?” Jack asked as he walked closer. “Yep, that was definitely a sigh. Do you think—“ Maddie cut herself off as she realized he could be listening. She shifted her tone to sound more authoritative. “Phantom. Are you awake?” The ghost boy hesitated. He wanted to hear what conclusions they might come to on their own. He gave up when he realized his face probably had given him away with how tightly he held his eyes closed. So he opened them. The light above him was bright. His eyes shot to his torso. His usual logo was there on the suit. Relief washed over him. Nightmares of being cut open faded. Unfortunately, when he turned towards his parents he noted that surgical equipment was there. It was ready to go, but untouched. Danny swallowed hard and was glad they’d tried some less invasive things first. He’d hoped his nightmares were more farfetched, apparently not. Maddie caught him staring at the scalpels behind her. “Those won’t be necessary if you cooperate.” Her authoritative tone was slipping. Danny realized it as the same tone she used when she scolded him but felt bad about having to do so. Interesting. “What are you going to do to me?” Danny asked. He didn’t try to hide his fear. This whole situation was scaring him and he realized trying to hide his emotions wouldn’t do him any good. If anything, maybe his emotions would allow them to see just how human he really was. “We’re examining you. We’re scientists. We want answers.” Jack folded his arms. His dad’s mannerisms matched his mom’s. That same uncertainty. Their scientific side at war with the compassion he knew they possessed. “You know, you could just ask me questions.” Danny suggested unable to resist the sass creeping into his voice. He was still tired, this situation was a lot to take in and he had a tendency to turn to that, or humor, when things were stressful. “I take it you’ve already taken my vitals? Or whatever that even is for me. How about we just talk? Love the hospitality, by the way.” Danny glanced at his bound wrist and back at his parents. “Don’t get snippy with me, spook!” Jack furrowed his brows. Maddie stepped in front of her husband. “Your vitals shouldn’t exist.” “What do you mean?” “Using the stethoscope I could hear your ghost core. But I also heard a slow thump. It is steady, like a heartbeat.” Maddie looked at her notes again. “Although, if your BPM were on a human they would certainly be a concern. It is much too slow. Of course, I didn’t expect to hear anything of the sort.” “I’m uh… a unique sort of ghost.” Danny wasn’t sure how much to say at this point, but talking was much better than whatever their initial plan had been. “We’ve figured as much.” Jack looked over at the notes then at the rise and fall of Danny’s chest. “You also take breaths. Even when you were unconscious you took a few at random. Now that you are awake, your ‘breathing’ is steady.” Danny did his best to shrug in the restraints. “Um…. Force of habit?” “The habit of someone who recently passed perhaps?” Maddie didn’t look up from the clipboard, she held the pen in her hand to write down his response. Danny caught the sadness in her eyes and Jack’s as he looked away. “So, you realize I’m not just some ‘spook'? I’m not just something that came to exist out of the ghost zone? Ectoplasm didn’t just form me at random?” Danny kept his voice low. Jack moved closer to Danny and checked the straps holding him down. They held firm. He seemed satisfied with his handiwork. As far as Danny was concerned if the straps holding him kept things civil he wouldn’t struggle against them. He’d rather not fight his parents tonight. “We theorize that you are someone who died here in this world and recently too. Your mannerisms give that away.” Maddie kept looking at her notes. “Being able to observe you up close without you moving around has given us both an… unnerving sensation. We are not sure if this is your ghostly aura messing with our minds or—“ Jack picked up where Maddie trailed off, “or if it is the fact that you look so human. You look like an ordinary teenage boy, if we ignore the fact that you’re glowing.” Maddie finally looked up at her husband. For a moment Danny thought she’d stop him but instead her eyebrows knit together and they exchanged a glance. Something unsaid between them. “We are ghost hunters, scientists…” Jack said as he walked to stand by his wife again with a hand on her shoulder. “But we are also parents to two teenagers.” Danny’s eyes widened. “Is that why the scalpels are clean?” “For now.” His Mom stated trying to pull a harsher tone back into her voice. “They are always there if we change our minds.” The looks on his parents’ faces were so torn. On the one hand, they had a specimen they wanted to examine finally on their table. On the other hand, what they’d found so far had made it so they couldn’t look at Danny Phantom without seeing a teenage boy who had died too soon. Their curiosity and scientific side was having an all out war with their compassionate side. Danny saw their uncertainty, he knew them too well. He was also sure he looked just as uncertain. Should he tell them he was their son? Would they think he was lying? That Phantom was playing some trick if he changed to his human form? It would be a low blow if they considered it that way. Danny hadn’t tried too hard to escape, but he was sure there were plenty of precautions in place that he couldn’t see. Not to mention the entire room filled with ghost weapons. What would they think if he started to pull against the restraints? The situation felt fragile. “Mom? Dad?” A tired voice called from the top of the stairs. “I know you’re dedicated to your work and all but should you really be down in the lab at 2:30 AM?” Jazz made her way to the bottom of the stairs in her pajamas holding a glass of water. She rubbed her eyes before taking in the scene in front of her. Her parents looking down at her brother, in ghost form, who was attached to an exam table. The glass fell from her hands and shattered on the floor. She rushed to put her body between her parents and Danny. “What are you doing to him!?” She screamed. “Jazz, sweetie, we haven’t hurt him.” Maddie held out her hands in a calming gesture. Jazz looked at the scalpels and other tools. She pointed to them. “But you plan to! Don’t you? What is this. Why are these here?! Why would you do this to him! How many times has he saved Amity Park!?” Danny had never seen his sister so frantic, but he was glad she had arrived. She was on his side. “Jazz.” Danny interjected. “They really haven’t hurt me.” She turned to him with wide eyes. “But they strapped you to the exam table, what do you THINK they are going to do to you?” “The Fentons are scientists.” Danny said simply. “Their research so far is the reason they haven’t cut into me.” Her eyebrow lifted at that. “What do you mean.” “See for yourself.” Jack handed the clipboard with the notes to Jazz. On it, Jazz read through their findings. In the beginning they were more straightforward; the time they acquired phantom, his height, notes on the material of his suit. Those notes took a turn when she read their theory that he was indeed a teen who must have died recently. They had taken notes that he appeared to breathe at random intervals even when not responding in any other way. His temperature was recorded and it was as cold as Jazz suspected it would be. There were notes about the hum of his ghost core and others about the thump in his chest. “Heartbeat?” Was written with uncertainty followed by his BPM. “I take it you’re having a hard time believing that he’s just some random bunch of ectoplasmic energy and emotion?” Jazz read over the notes. “Phantom is making us rethink a lot of things.” Maddie admitted as she reached for the notes. Jazz handed them over and her Mom gave her the stethoscope. “You seem to know each other pretty well.” Danny looked at his sister. “It’s okay, give it a try.” Jazz walked over to Phantom, knowing exactly what she would hear. Still she wanted her parents to see that she wasn’t afraid of this ghost at all. She put the stethoscope on and pressed it to Phantom’s chest. As expected she heard the steady hum of his ghost core first, then a thump followed by another. She laughed lightly. “What?” Danny whispered so only she could hear. His sister leaned down. “It’s a little faster than normal. I mean, as ‘normal’ as you are.” “Can you blame me? I’m nervous!” He laughed awkwardly. Then he brought his voice even lower. “I-I think I should tell them.” “Well, they are considering Phantom in a much different way than they ever have. Now is the time.” Jazz agreed. "But remember, they are scientists.” “Huh?” The redhead winked at him. “Just follow my lead little brother. We’ll ease them into it.” Maddie and Jack watched the two interact with curiosity. They knew Jazz defended Phantom a lot but didn’t realize they were actually this close. The whispers between them were things they couldn’t make out. They figured Phantom might be more comfortable if she stayed. The trust between the two seemed mutual. Perhaps he’d be willing to give them more information for their research. “Yep! Sounds like a heartbeat to me.” Jazz smiled at her parents. They were showing quite a bit of promise. Jazz started to give the stethoscope back but Danny stopped her. “Can I hear it?” Danny asked. “Of course you can.” Jazz put the stethoscope in his ears and held the other end on his chest. She knew how much that steady thump meant to him. In fact, she’d gotten him a stethoscope of his own so he could have a clear reminder of that heartbeat any time he needed it. Phantom laughed in relief and in realization. “It definitely is a little fast for me. I told you I’m nervous." Maddie lifted an eyebrow and added more notes to the clipboard. “So, it is a heartbeat?” Jack asked. “Yes. It’s my heartbeat.” Danny looked wistful at that thought. "It is about half of the speed of a healthy person right?” Jazz smiled watching her mother jot that fact down. “But why would a ghost need a heart?” Maddie tapped the pen to her chin. “Why would anything need both a heart and a ghost core?” Jazz added. Jack hummed as he thought that over. “It really doesn’t make much sense.” “There were a couple of old theories we had years ago, remember Jack?” Maddie recalled. “Mads, you know I’m not the best at remembering things. But we had a lot of theories and hypotheses over the years. A lot of them were a little out there.” Jazz raised an eyebrow. “Wait, you’re actually admitting they were out there?” “We’ve come up with a lot of ideas about ghosts and the ghost zone. Some of them turned out to be correct, others not so much.” “And some were the result of brainstorming while staying up way too late and drinking way too much caffeine in college.” Maddie admitted. “Most of them were scrapped.” Danny squirmed a bit. He was starting to get uncomfortable in his current position. “What kind of ideas were they?" “Well there was one theory that perhaps ghosts could live around humans if they stole a heart from a living being. If they put that in their chest and altered their appearance they might be able to keep the heart beating and it would allow them to be more convincing as a living person.” “Oh yeah! I remember that one!” Jack beamed. “We also considered the possibility that there were ghosts that ripped out hearts and ate them, but the heart could still be heard. Almost like the heart they stole haunted the ghost with the sound.” Jazz and Danny looked at their parents and blinked. “Gross!” Danny grimaced. “That is disgusting! I didn’t eat anyone’s heart or rip their heart out or anything like that. Why the heck would you even think something like that?” Jazz pursed her lips. “This wouldn’t have been after watching a horror movie would it?" “Ah… yeah, yeah it was.” Jack shrugged. “Like I said, some of the ideas were a little out there.” “Figures.” Jazz sighed. Danny fidgeted with his arms, clearly uncomfortable with the restraints. Jazz huffed. “Mom, Dad, you do realize Phantom is cooperating right? He’s really knowledgeable about the other ghosts and the Ghost Zone. He PROTECTS this city. He’s saved all of our lives multiple times. I know you’ve found out things about him tonight that have you questioning what you’ve thought about him in the past. Why don’t you show him a little trust?” Maddie considered this and looked to her husband for support. “Even if we did trust him… we knocked him out and strapped him to a table.” “With intentions to study me like a science experiment.” Danny added before thinking. “Not helping.” Jazz glared at him with gritted teeth. “Yes, that…” Maddie continued. “He has every right to be mad at us. What if he attacks?” “He’s not going to do that. I know him! I trust him! If you give him a chance you’ll realize just how much YOU can trust him.” Jazz paused and looked at Phantom. Their mom really thought he might attack? Did that mean Maddie was ready to defend? What if he made one wrong move in this vulnerable situation and she misinterpreted it and fired a weapon? Jazz wanted to talk through everything, but she was also Danny’s older sister. She couldn’t help but feel protective. “Jazz.” Danny wanted to say that he really didn’t think they would hurt him at this point. Hearing his heartbeat had stopped them cold. But at the end of the day, she was his older sister. He knew her top priority was keeping him safe. “If the restraints make them feel better…” Danny was cut off by the strap on his arm being unlatched. His dad had been the one to do it while his mom was putting some commands into the computer. Danny recognized that she was turning off extra security measures they had put in place for their “research” tonight. Specifically ways to keep him from escaping. “Oh.” Jazz watched in awe as her dad unlatched the final strap holding Danny to the table. Her brother slowly sat up as if he wasn’t sure if any sudden moves would cause them to rethink what they just did. Danny couldn’t help the glance at the surgical tools. Maddie noticed. “I don’t think we will be needing these.” She put them away. Jack looked at the ghost boy curiously. “I’m honestly surprised you didn’t immediately fly out of here.” “You let me go.” Danny shrugged. “And I’m really tired of running from this conversation.” “They are scientists, remember?” Jazz was steering the conversation back to that. She hopped up on the exam table to sit beside him and squeezed his shoulder in encouragement. The gesture further puzzled Maddie and Jack. Jazz was defensive of Phantom, but this was something else. This wasn’t her arguing that all ghost weren’t evil. This wasn’t her trying to defend his actions. Danny Phantom was a powerful ghost, but looking at the two Jazz was obviously his rock and support. “Yeah, scientists.” Phantom turned back to Maddie and Jack who has set in their desk chairs. “So, any other theories about the heartbeat thing?” Maddie’s eyes narrowed at the ghost boy. “Do you KNOW why you have a heartbeat?” “Uh… well. I um…” “Why don’t you just tell us?” “Maybe it’s best to let him hear your theory first?” Jazz suggested. “I remember it now!” Jack snapped his fingers. “By the way, I thought I would have the urge to reach for my weapons with you out of those restraints, ghost.” “Dad!” Jazz pinched the bridge of her nose. “The theory? Please? And stop talking about bringing out weapons.” “I’m just saying I don’t feel like I need too.” Jack scratched his head. “I’m not sure why that is.” “For what it’s worth, I’m glad you feel that way.” Danny kicked his feet on the side of the table and looked at his boots. His fear was still there, but it was fading. He was in the lab talking to his parents. Jazz was beside him. They were letting him sit here freely. “The theory, hon?” Maddie steered her husband back on track. “Oh yeah! It was that maybe if someone died by being hit with ectoplasm they could be part ghost and part human somehow.” “That entity would probably be quite gruesome to look at. Stuck in between life and death. We theorize that some of their body would be alive while other parts of them are ghostly. Sort of like Frankenstein’s monster stitched together but with living parts and ghostly parts. That sort of fusion would could potentially have a heartbeat.” Maddie winced at the thought. “I’m not sure how long the living portions of the entity would stay alive.” Danny gulped. He was glad he didn’t turn out that way. “Um… so that would be like someone blasted with an ectoblast at the moment they died? Or just like exposed to ectoplasm while they are dying?” “Even then, I’m not sure it would work. I feel like any sort of fusion like that would take a lot of energy to happen.” “Like, electricity?” Danny mumbled. “I suppose…” Maddie’s mind wondered to different scenarios. “But still. Existing between life and death like that and not disappearing completely from existence seems very unlikely. It might be possible, but how?” “Yeah how?” Jazz nudged Danny subtly it prompted him forward. “What if someone, oh I don’t know, died in a sort of in between space between the Ghost Zone and this world?” Danny asked trying to sound hypothetical. “The chances of that happening sound incredibly slim.” Maddie tapped her pen against the clipboard. “Maybe it’s also unlikely that something in-between ghost and human would be grotesque?” Jazz tried to steer away from the Frankenstein-esque mental image. “What if it was a more balanced sort of thing. Instead of being pieces of ghost with pieces of a human things line up in a different way?” Maddie considered that and wrote down some more notes on the clipboard. Jack looked from Maddie, to Jazz, and finally to Phantom. HIs voice was unusually solemn. “Phantom, just how did you die?” “WOAH! That is not something you ask—“ Jazz interrupted. Phantom brought his hand to Jazz’s shoulder this time. “It’s okay. I’m tired and I’m ready to tell them. Apparently, according to them I could have turned out to be a Frankenstein monster thing! I'm just glad that isn’t what happened. Maybe this will be easier to accept compared to that.” “You’ve been wanting to tell us how you died?” Maddie started looking at the ghost boy more closely after Jazz sat next to him. The kicking of his feet, the way he held himself. This was a teenage boy. Ghost or not. He reminded her a lot of her own son. Her mind felt on the brink of something, but she wasn’t sure what exactly that thing might be. “But why?” “For one thing, I died in your house.” Danny said it with an easygoing tone but no one in the room was happy about it. “Figured you’d deserve to know eventually.” “That’s how you’re telling them? Really?” Jazz hissed. “Okay, so say hypothetically someone was inside of a ghost portal when it turned on?” “That much power going through anyone’s body would kill them!” Jack shouted. “It would also be a lot of ghostly energy and cause them to die in sort of an in between place which might keep them from dying completely. But the energy would have to conduct through them just right. I’m not sure it would even be possible.” “If it were possible…” Danny rubbed the back of his neck nervously. “Maybe they died but the nature of their death involving a ghost zone portal caused them to somehow be revived half way? Maybe it messed with them at such a deep level they are actually stable but both dead and alive at the same time. Maybe that sort of situation would lead to a ghost with a—“ “Heartbeat.” Maddie said the word as a whisper. She didn’t particularly like where her mind was going but the scientist in her couldn’t deny the facts and evidence laid out before her. “That’s why the other spooks call you halfa?” Jack sounded just as dumbstruck. “You’re not fully a ghost.” “I’m half-ghost, yeah.” Danny looked at them. He could see it in their faces. It was sinking in, slowly. Maybe that was for the best. “But I’m half human too.” “Half human.” Jack spoke softly to himself. “The portal…” “And you’re stable?” Maddie asked. She pushed down her emotions. It was best to let the scientist in her ask the questions before she completely cracked. “Stable might be a bit of a stretch.” Jazz poked fun at her brother’s expense. “Ha. Ha. Very funny, Jazz.” There was no bite in his words, honestly his sister teasing him made the situation a little less tense. He was grateful for it, not that he’d admit it. “I’m fine, not normal, but yeah. I think I’m good. I have a human form and a ghostly form. The ghostly stuff took a while to get used to. I can use my ghost powers in both forms and at first, it was definitely more of me just not knowing how to use them at all. Randomly sinking through the floor is kind of inconvenient.” Maddie continued her questions. “Does it hurt? Being like this?” “Being a ghost?” She nodded. “No. I’m only in pain when I’m being, like, pummeled or something.” He tried to be lighthearted. “I heal really fast tho.” Tears were welling up in his mother’s eyes. “You were really inside the portal when it turned on?” “You don’t have to think about that part too much.” Truthfully, Danny didn’t want to think about that part at all. “I’d imagine that moment wasn’t painless.” Jack looked down sadly. “That must have been excruciating. And all because of our invention.” “Please, don’t blame yourselves for this. I was the one who walked right into it!” Danny floated above the table, his legs disappeared in favor of a ghostly tail. He hoped he wasn’t going too far. “I’d do it again.” “What did you just say?!” Jack’s eyes snapped up to meet his. “I would do it again. Sure, dying sucks. It was— you know what I really don’t like to dwell on that part.” Danny waved his hand nonchalantly. “But this, he flew around the room. These powers? I can help people. I DO help people, every day. That’s not something I’m wanting to give up. You may not understand, but I don’t want you trying to ‘fix’ me. I’m not broken. I’m okay. I have good days and bad days, but so does everyone else. This is who I am.” “I’m proud of you Danny.” Jazz beamed at him then turned to her parents. They shared a knowing glance with each other. “So, are we going to make him spell it out for us?” Maddie offered her husband a soft smile. Jack reached out to her and Maddie grabbed his hand and squeezed. “I’m guessing our son didn’t just get a little shock when the portal turned on?” “That may have been a bit of an understatement.” Danny admitted. Jazz jumped down off the table and spread her arms dramatically. “Ya think!?” “Jazz, you’ve known for a while haven’t you?” Maddie placed a hand on her daughter’s shoulder. She nodded. “Son.” Jack looked up at Danny. “It’s okay. There’s a lot more for us to talk about. Maybe not now, we can take it one day at a time.” “And there’s a lot of apologizing on our part.” Maddie added. “But for now I just want to let you know I love you. Nothing could ever change that. So Danny-boy, anytime you want to stop hovering near the ceiling would be good.” “We both love you sweetie.” Maddie looked at him with a sad smile. “I’m sorry we didn’t see it sooner. I’m sorry you didn’t feel like you could tell us.” “I’m sure you understand why now. Right, Mom?” Jazz asked. “Of course.” Guilt was plastered on her face. “We said so many horrible things. I don’t know how we’ll ever make it up to him." Danny floated down slowly and landed softly in front of his parents. “Honestly, I’ve pictured this going really badly. But Jazz is here. You’re not trying to shoot at me and all my internal organs are inside.” He laughed but both of his parents winced at the last bit. “I’d say this is going pretty well.” Jack Fenton opened his arms and Danny Phantom hugged him back. Soon enough he was surrounded by his mom and sister. They stayed like that for a while until Danny yawned loudly. “So, does your ghost form have a time limit or something? How does that work?” Maddie asked. “Oh, I just knew you believed me so I didn’t even bother changing back.” Danny shrugged as a white ring appeared at Danny’s torso. It split and passed over his body leaving Danny Fenton standing in the middle of his family. “Wow! That is fascinating!” Maddie grabbed her clipboard and wrote a few more notes. “There’s so much we can learn from you!” Danny just stared at her, the tiredness more apparent in his human form. The clock on the wall read 3:30 AM. “Mom, I am so tired right now.” “Sorry sweetie. We are scientists who study ghosts.” She clarified. “We’re bound to have plenty of questions and I promise any research will only be done if you are comfortable with it. But I’m also your mother and now I understand just why you’re so tired all of the time. When is the last time you got a good night’s sleep?" “A while…” Danny couldn’t help but rub his eyes. “But that’s not going to change tonight. I have school in a few hours.” “Young man.” Jack’s voice bellowed through the lab. “I don’t believe you do.” “Huh?" “There have been ghost attacks reported every night this week.” Maddie pointed out. “Also, reports of Danny Phantom ending these attacks and keeping the town safe.” Jazz elbowed her brother. “I feel like you’re ganging up on me.” Danny smiled. “You bet we are sweetie. We’re also the reason you are up so late tonight. So how about you go upstairs and try to get a full nights sleep.” “I can get you any notes and homework from the school Danny.” Jazz offered. It wasn’t long before they were all headed to bed. Danny paused at his bedroom door. His parents and Jazz were just about to tell him goodnight when he spoke first. “This whole ‘everyone in the house knowing’ thing is going to take some getting used to. But for tonight, I’m too dead tired to think about anything else. Good night.” With that, he walked directly through his bedroom door. Jazz groaned and looked at her parents with pity. “Welcome to the world of way too many puns and jokes about death. Good night.” Jack and Maddie exchanged a glance and turned back to Danny’s door. It was definitely going to take some getting used to. They would probably always feel guilty for their actions and for the accident happening in the first place. But Danny was willing to be honest with them after everything. He’d given them the opportunity to grow and be better and to understand their son more. They were determined to do the best they could. The night could have gone very differently and they never would have forgiven themselves if they had followed through with their original plan. They would forever be grateful of their son’s slow, steady heartbeat. ////////////// I'm a sucker for identity reveals and I've been wanting to write one with Danny and his parents for a while. Had this thought that maybe Danny always has a heartbeat (that beats at around half the average normal time, because halfa lol) and it's something he finds comforting when he starts to question his own existence or if he's human enough. Then thought "what if his parents hear that heartbeat from Phantom?" and here we are. Hope you enjoyed it!

So, Adrien shows up in a Chat Noir Hoodie...
Ship: Lukadrien Rating: T Words: 1845 Status: Complete Read it on Ao3 ///////////// Recently the Ladyblog had begun selling hero themed clothing. Adrien had bought at least one item inspired by each of the heroes. The proceeds went to charity and the designs Marinette had come up with were all really nice. So he found himself with a nice little collection of superhero merchandise in his closet. Adrien had plans to hang out at the Couffaine’s place one evening. As he went through the clothes he paused at the Chat Noir inspired hoodie. It was his favorite design. Marinette really captured his energy as a hero well. Since his suit was what he wanted the hoodie felt like an extension of that. However, he never wore the specific hoodie out. It was reserved for hanging out in his room where no one could see him in it. Aside from the one time he wore it on patrol, just for kicks. “You know, you should wear it out.” Plagg said. Adrien sighed. “I love the design! It’s awesome. But don’t you think people might get a bit suspicious?” “Adrien, people are blind.” Plagg pondered for a moment. “You’ve been seen wearing things inspired by every hero BUT yourself. It might be more suspicious of you to not wear Chat Noir things.” “You might be onto something.” His hand grabbed the hanger again. “Just don’t let me get too comfortable wearing it out.”
Later, Adrien walked onto the familiar houseboat. The hoodie was comfortable and warm in the crisp autumn air. Some of his other friends were wearing hero inspired designs as well. He was happy to be out of the mansion and hanging out with his friends. Nino was wearing a Rena Rouge inspired design proudly. Someone asked why he admired the hero and he was absolutely showering her with praise. Adrien immediately looked to Alya, he knew she was Rena Rouge and that her boyfriend was well aware of that. Others, including Adrien, joined in on admiring Rena as a hero. He was glad she was hearing all of the nice things people were saying about her. In his peripheral vision he caught a glimpse of her wiping a tear from her eye when she thought no one was looking. He knew how much it meant to her. “Nice hoodie, Adrien.” Luka said with a knowing smile. Adrien felt himself get nervous at Luka’s expression. “Thanks! Marinette did an amazing job with the designs.” “She did. All of them really seem to capture the hero’s personalities.” Luka agreed. Marinette had heard them. “Thanks guys, I’m really glad you like them!” “So…” Luka’s smile looked downright dangerous now. “What is it about Chat Noir that you admire? You must be a fan of his, right?” “Oh, me? A fan?” Adrien faltered. “You could say that. I mean he’s been protecting Paris for a while now, with Ladybug of course.” “Yeah, I know that but what do YOU admire about him specifically.” Luka lifted an eyebrow. “Well…I…” Adrien could feel a blush beginning on his face. “I for one admire his bravery.” Marinette offered. “I don’t think Ladybug could ask for a better partner.” Luka’s attention had been on Adrien but Marinette’s words warmed his heart. Being aware of just who Marinette was made the meaning hit twice as hard. He wished Adrien knew so he could recognize the the weight behind her words. “He is brave and selfless.” Luka added. “A little too selfless at times…” Marinette murmured. Luka looked directly into Adrien’s eyes. “Yeah, Chat Noir could be a bit more careful out there.” Adrien had to keep himself from huffing aloud. He’d always jump into danger if it would keep someone else safe. He would do what he felt was necessary. “He is one of the strongest and most incredible heroes that Paris has.” Luka complimented him more. “Oh definitely!” Alya agreed. “Chat Noir has saved me a lot of times and he also knows how to encourage you when you’re feeling down. Have you seen the clips on the Ladyblog of him comforting akuma victims? He really has a way with people.” Adrien blushed as other people joined in with compliments. The dim lighting that evening at least made that easier to hide. “But surely there must be things you admire about the hero, right Adrien?” Luka narrowed his eyes at him. “I mean, you are wearing his merch so you must think a lot of him.” Then it clicked. Adrien knew exactly what Luka was doing. The realization was two-fold. First, Luka wanted Adrien to be encouraged as a hero. But that wasn’t all. Luka also wanted to see Adrien get flustered. Adrien was more than aware that Luka knew his identity. The blue-haired boy thought he had the situation under control. Perhaps he forgot exactly who he was dealing with. “I wear things inspired by all of the heroes, Luka. My favorite design is the Viperion one, actually.” Adrien looked directly in Luka’s eyes. “Oh?” Luka’s eyes widened. Suddenly Adrien's demeanor shifted like a cat about to pounce. “Yeah, he’s brilliant. He looks great in that suit too.” There were other people around him talking about the different heroes, some may have even been talking about him, but Adrien’s focus was on Luka. The guy who was playing a dangerous game. He was Chat Noir after all. If anyone could turn around this attempt to fluster him, he could. “You know who else looks good in their suit? Chat Noir. Not to mention the fighting skills, he must really work hard at it.” Adrien praised himself. He could feel a slight blush on his cheeks the whole time. But there were things he’d allowed himself to be proud of. Encouraging words from Plagg, Luka, and Ladybug were some of the reasons he felt he could. He still had his self doubts, but for the moment he decided to let loose and give himself a pep talk while also getting the reward of seeing Luka’s plan fall apart. “And the guy is funny to boot. I mean how could you not admire someone like Chat Noir?” People around him agreed. Luka looked at him dumbfounded for a moment. The cheeky grin and wink combo that Adrien shot Luka’s way was the final straw. “You know what Adrien, I think I need your help with something.” Luka reached for Adrien’s wrist and pulled him away from the others, down the stairs, and out of sight. Adrien laughed as he was drug behind him. “Oh, what can I help you with my very good friend Luka?” “Oh my gosh, shut up.” Luka groaned and let go of his wrist. “You are killing me!” “You’re the one who tried to get me all flustered!” “Me!?” Luka pointed to himself. “I only did that because YOU are the one that showed up in Chat Noir clothing! And I have to act like there’s nothing to that? Like everything is the way it's always been?! Come on!” Adrien posed and flicked the tiny bell shaped zipper. “Oh so you like the look?” “I do.” Luka stepped closer. “But you know what looks even better on you?" “What’s that?” “The confidence.” Luka smiled softly. “You should be proud of yourself.” “You like that huh?” Adrien closed the distance some more and glanced at Luka’s lips. He leaned towards him before suddenly stepping back and tapping his chin. Luka huffed at his antics. “What?” “Well, my very good friend Luka…” Luka facepalmed at that. “I’m begging you to stop.” “Last I checked, Viperion has a boyfriend.” Adrien gestured with his hands explaining the situation as if Luka didn't already know how complicated things were. “We can’t have Luka who Ladybug knows is Viperion being seen with someone else. Ladybug might start to suspect something about your boyfriend’s identity. Which, may I remind you, she doesn’t want to know.” “No one can see us down here.” Luka closed the distance a little again. “You are just being a tease.” “Am I? Or are you trying to seduce me? What would your boyfriend say?” Adrien said in a sing song voice. He leaned towards Luka again playfully. Luka reached forward and pulled Adrien’s hood complete with sewn on cat ears over his head. “Oh would you look at that? My boyfriend is here after all.” “Guess he is.” Adrien smiled and looked to Luka’s lips again. Adrien then found himself being pulled forward by fabric of the hoodie. Luka's lips crashed into his. The kiss was deepened by Adrien's hand finding its way into Luka's hair and pushing them closer. For the first time they were kissing without the masks. Although the hood hid their faces, it was still one they would both cherish forever. When the kiss ended they touched their foreheads together. “I love you, Luka” “I love you too.” Luka pulled back and took both of Adrien’s hands in his. “What is it?” Luka sighed and glanced at the floor of the ship before looking back to the blonde. “Times like these, make me want to tell you who Ladybug is. It feels like if I did, you two would be closer to her knowing who you are. Then, we wouldn’t have to hide our relationship anymore…” “Listen, it’s just as tempting for me to want you to tell me. But ultimately, I’d rather her tell me on her own terms. It’s what she wants and I know you want to respect her wishes or you would have already told me by now.” “You’re right. But I also want to be with you and not just with the masks in the way. It kills me to be around you and have to act like nothing has changed between us.” “It's torture. Sometimes I wish I didn't feel as deeply as I do. It would make things easier.” Adrien said somberly. The grip on Adrien's hands tightened. "Never, ever, apologize for that. It's one of the things I admire about you." Plagg poked out from Adrien's hoodie pocket. "Sheesh, you are both hopeless romantics!" "Guilty." Luka shrugged. Adrien laughed. “Here's an idea. You could just tell me who Ladybug is, I reveal myself to her. She gets mad that we forced a reveal and kills us both. We could be together forever as ghosts! Who cares if we’re wearing masks or not then?” Luka chuckled at that. “It’s a solid backup plan.” “For now, we should probably be getting back to the others.” Adrien started up the stairs then turned around and kissed Luka again quickly. “One more for my very good friend.” “Ha. Ha. You’re hilarious.” Luka rolled his eyes. “You love me.” Adrien winked at him. “Oh, I do.” Luka followed behind him. "I really do." While Luka and Adrien might have to finish the evening pretending there was nothing more between them. Viperion and Chat Noir would see each other in the morning. With a patrol that would no doubt start with a breakfast date on a rooftop. They both found themselves really appreciating Ladybug’s patrol schedules lately. ///////////////// Note: I really like imagining them not having secrets between each other, dating, but also realizing that they can only be open about their relationship on one side of their "lovesquare." If they don't they risk Ladybug finding out Chat Noir's identity and she doesn't want to know because she sees it as too risky. Secret relationship it is. This is an AU now because I have no chill. Thanks for reading! ///////////////// ko-fi

A Sleepy “I Love You”
Lukadrien Fluffuary (using this prompt list) Day 19 - Taking A Nap Together Prev | Next Read it on Ao3 Words: 1318 Rating: G Tags: Identity Reveal, Sleepy Cuddles, Soft & Sweet Viperion opened his eyes slowly. The rooftop around him was bathed in orange light as the sun set. His mind felt hazy and peaceful from slumber. It took a minute for him to register where he was. He and Chat Noir had been on patrol, but both had been sleep deprived on top of having busy days. After they checked out the city they decided to take a break before going to their homes. Apparently, both of them had fallen asleep during the break. When Viperion looked down, he saw Chat Noir stirring awake. The feline hero had used Viperion’s lap as a pillow. Somehow they’d wound up like this. Viperion was sure they had been shoulder to shoulder when he drifted off. Yet, now green eyes blinked up at him dreamily. It brought a smile to Viperion’s face. Chat was handsome and Viperion absolutely had feelings for him. Being on the rooftop, together, cuddling as the sun set. He’d imagined scenarios like this. But with his heart torn between Chat Noir and another blonde in his life he never knew how to move forward with those feelings. Chat Noir’s soft smile reflected Viperion’s own. “Love you, Luka.” Chat Noir said in a sleepy voice. Viperion blinked at him and his smile faded into a look of shock. Had he heard correctly? “You—you know my name?” “Course I do.” The hero mumbled like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Are you actually awake?" “Don’t think so.” Chat’s eyes threatened to flutter closed again. “I’m just having a good dream.”
“Um…” Viperion wasn’t sure where to start, but he was pretty sure this wasn’t a dream. “Your eyes are open. You just told me my name. My civilian name.” Chat Noir sat straight up at the realization and rubbed his hand over his face. “That means I also said the other part….” “That you….love me?” Viperion’s voice was low. “Yeah…” “So, you know who I am under the mask and you have feelings for me?” Viperion asked directly, but there was caution in his voice. Chat Noir took a deep breath and shrugged. “It’s not like I haven’t been flirting with you every chance I get. Is it weird that I flirt with you and know who you are? I don’t want to make you uncomfortable I—“ “Woah. Slow down.” Viperion held out his hands in a calming gesture. “You’re not the only one who thought it was a wonderful dream at first.” “Oh?” “You are incredible, kitten. I fell for you a long time ago.” Chat Noir’s tail swished behind him. His cheeks turned a charming pink. “You did?” “I did.” Viperion admitted. “But the identity rule—“ “Sucks.” “Yeah, it does. I can’t imagine being with someone who doesn’t even know my name and I don’t think it’s a great idea to be with someone when I don’t know who they are either.” “That’s fair.” Chat tapped his chin thoughtfully. “But I know who you are and you didn’t know it. It makes me curious, do you know who I am?” “I…” Viperion stopped himself. “Do you know?” Chat Noir looked excited for the possibility. “Not… exactly. Not for sure. There’s just this feeling. You remind me of someone.” “Do I?” Chat Noir gave a crooked grin. “Oh, now the cat is extra curious. I know how you read people. I know you. Is there something about me and this other guy that’s got you hearing the same melody purrhaps?” Viperion laughed nervously. “Come on. I just want to know who he is. If you’re right I’ll admit it. Cat’s honor. I’m tired of this identity rule. I already know your identity and I trust you.” “It’s just… well, I’ve hoped he was you for so long.” Viperion confessed. “I’m a little afraid of being wrong. You’re amazing. Even if you’re not him, you are amazing. But it would definitely make things easier if you were.” “You’ve hoped this guy was me?” “Yeah…” Viperion laughed at himself. “You’re right about the melody thing. Whenever I’m around you both it’s like I’m hearing different parts of the same tune. If you’re not him, that means I’ve fallen in love with two people. I’ve imagined you as him so many times. Maybe I shouldn’t have let my mind wander so far so often. You’re both incredible and it would make so much sense.” “Oh…” Chat Noir swallowed. He really hoped he was the guy that Luka was imagining him to be. If he didn’t know that Luka was Viperion, his heart would feel torn in two directions as well. But as it were, both in and out of the mask he was head-over-heels in love. “Well, maybe I can tell you things about me and we can break this down.” “That sounds like a good idea.” “Okay, well I play piano.” “So does he.” Chat Noir let the hope rise in him. “My eyes are green outside of this mask. Just without the whole cat situation.” “So are his.” That was enough for Chat Noir to just want to jump into the questions that would let him know sooner. He couldn’t take it anymore. “I’ve used your Miraculous." Viperion gulped. “So has he.” Chat Noir’s expression turned soft and affectionate. “And it wasn’t the right fit for me. It was meant to be with you. That is why I suggested that you should be the holder of the snake Miraculous. I don’t regret it. Not for a second.” Viperion couldn’t help the soft laugh that escaped him. It was one of pure relief and joy. The truth combined with the adoration in Chat Noir’s tone meant everything to him. “Is it you?” Viperion asked although he knew the answer now. “Adrien. Is it really you? Because right now I’m the one wondering if I’m still dreaming. I’ve wanted It to be you. God. I’ve hoped it was you. All this time.” “If this is a dream don’t wake me up.” Chat Noir glanced around them. It was a secluded spot. “Claws in.” Chat Noir let transformation fade and looked to Viperion. He threw a piece of Camembert for Plagg and thankfully the kwami took one look at the situation and decided to give them their space. “Hi there.” Adrien waved. In an instant, Viperion embraced him in a hug. “I love you too, Adrien.” Adrien’s arms wrapped around Viperion and squeezed tightly. “We’ve been dancing around each other too long.” The hug ended when Viperion pulled back and looked to Adrien with a tender gaze. “Yeah, we have. And you’ve known my identity all this time.” “I’ve wanted to tell you who I was for a while.” Adrien sighed. “You would have figured me out eventually. I think you understand me more than anyone I’ve ever met. Your gut feeling was right. It usually is. Luka, when I told you I loved you I meant it…. even if I was half asleep. There was no way I could hide my identity from you after that. I think it was meant to happen this way.” Viperion leaned in. “I think you’re right, but I can’t help but wish we would have known sooner. I’ve wanted to date Adrien and Chat Noir but felt torn. It seems so silly now. But since the truth is out… will you be my boyfriend?” Adrien pushed his forehead against Viperion’s. “Of course. My heart was already yours a long time before this.” “Can I kiss you?” Viperion whispered. Adrien mimicked the hushed tone. “Only if I can kiss you back.” Viperion leaned back just enough to turn his head and lay a soft kiss on his boyfriend’s lips. Adrien responded by bringing his hand up to caress Viperion’s cheek and kiss him back. It was a short, sweet kiss, their first they ever shared and one they would always remember.

(Turning Tables: Origins - Freedom) Chapter 8 - Control
Chapter Summary: In desperation, Shadowmoth sends an akuma after Adrien. ///////////////////////////////// Master List| Prev | Next Rated: T Read on Ao3 | Wattpad //////////////////////////////// Adrien’s fists clenched as a purple mask outlined his face. Shadowmoth’s voice boomed in his mind.
“Hello, my son.”
The negative emotions swirled through Adrien’s head.
His father was Shadowmoth.
He terrorized Paris trying to bring back his mother.
The heaviest of his feelings came from the disappointment of learning that truth. But Shadowmoth’s akuma was trying to latch onto something else; Adrien missed his mom. Of course he wanted to see her again.
“Surely, you understand.” The villain continued. “Don’t you love your mother? Don’t you want her back? You could help me. I’ve never felt emotions as strong as yours. You’d be my strongest akuma yet! Together we could revive your mother. You just have to get Ladybug and Chat Noir’s Miraculous.”
Adrien wasn’t prepared for the flashes of scenes in his mind. Vivid memories of his mom that shifted into talking with her in the present. Then he saw her, Gabriel, and himself enjoying a picnic together as a family.
In reality, Adrien fell to his knees as tears streamed down his face.
“Don’t resist my son. Do you not love your mother? Do you not want her back?” Shadowmoth repeated himself. He had found a weak spot in Adrien’s resolve and was determined to exploit it to get what he wanted.
The flashes of a life where Adrien and his parents were happy together filled the blonde’s mind. It was at complete odds with the sheer disappointment and anger at his father for what he’d done to him and the terror he’d been to the people of Paris.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The team gasped when they saw Adrien fall forward.
“Adrien…” Ladybug’s voice was barely a whisper. She stepped towards him but Carapace’s shield blocked her way.
Viperion softly laid a hand on her shoulder. The spotted heroine turned to face him. “I know this is scary. I haven’t seen what you saw when he was akumatized. But we have to let him try to face this on his own.”
Ladybug looked as Viperion lifted his Miraculous. It reassured her to know that Second Chance was activated.
“We need to believe in him. I know that you do.”
She nodded.
“LB.” Carapace spoke up. “He knows we’re here for him.”
“He’s overcome so much already.” Rena agreed. “He’s already stood up to Gabriel. This is just the last ditch effort of a deranged man.”
Rena Rouge wrapped her arms around Carapace who held Chat Noir’s Miraculous close to his chest. His shield never wavered. They had to stay strong, but they needed to let Adrien face this on his own.
They all believed and hoped that Adrien could overcome the akuma’s influence. But that didn’t stop his words of warning from echoing through their minds.
But if something goes wrong. If you do have to fight me. Don’t hold back. They hoped that would not be the case. All eyes returned to Adrien when they heard him mutter something. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
“Not real.” Adrien’s balled fists shot up to his temples. His eyes shut tightly forcing more tears to fall. “IT’S NOT REAL!”
“Ohhh… but it could be.” Shadowmoth assured him. “Come on my son. Why are you resisting?”
My son. My son. My son. The words echoed in Adrien’s mind. Green eyes snapped open. He stared beneath him at the wet spot on the ground where his tears had fallen.
His son? Shadowmoth’s son? No. He was so much more than that.
Adrien let out a bitter laugh. “You haven’t treated me like a son for years. Convenient of you to bring that up anytime I’m not doing what you want me to.”
“Nonsense.” Shadowmoth’s voice shook in Adrien’s mind. “Do you not love your mother?”
The villain desperately brought up the one thing that seemed to make the young man waver.
“Desperate aren’t you?” Adrien stood on his feet again. “It’s pathetic.”
Shadowmoth didn’t respond, but the purple mask remained over Adrien’s face.
“You manipulated me for years! I just wanted to be a good son. I tried to earn your love or any shred of evidence that you actually cared! But all you did was use me and treat me like your puppet.”
“Can’t you see that I’m doing this for you! For us!” Shadowmoth’s voice wavered.
“If you wanted to do something for ME you would have actually been there when I needed a father.” Adrien wiped the tears from his eyes again. “We’ve been through this conversation. I’m done with you. I’m done with the manipulation, with trying to please you, with trying to earn your love. When will you get that through your head Gabriel?!”
“I am your father, you WILL listen to me.”
“Must be frustrating to no longer have any control over me. You can’t control me the way you did before. So, you try to use Miraculous magic against me?! Trying to use my love of mom to control me? I didn’t think you could stoop any lower, but here we are.” Adrien turned in the direction of the mansion. “And I heard what Nathalie said. Mom didn’t even want this. So yes, I DO love my mother. I AM doing the right thing. Because I’m respecting her wishes. Unlike you. She’d be so disappointed in what you’ve become.”
Adrien’s voice dropped to a low and threatening tone. “You’re a disgrace and now that I know the truth, your days of terrorizing Paris are about to end.”
“Wh-What?! Adrien. No. What do you mean by that? You’ll ruin everything!”
“Good.” Adrien replied. “You’ll find out soon enough. But I don’t want your power. I don’t want your control over me or my life in any way. Now, Get. Out. Of. My. Head!”
The purple mask around Adrien’s face shattered.
///////////////////////////////////////////////
The akuma flew out from Adrien’s phone. Carapace lowered his shield and Ladybug captured it with her yoyo. She purified it as they all looked at Adrien in awe.
A second later, Carapace wrapped his arms tightly around Adrien. The others joined in, leaving the blonde surrounded by those who loved him the most. They didn’t rush the moment and slowly pulled back one by one. Each of them wiping tears of relief from their eyes.
"You're still you." Ladybug sniffled, but her eyes shined with pride. Fears from her past experience fell away, like a heavy burden had lifted. "It feels like... like Chat Blanc has been defeated. For good this time. You are stronger than the akuma."
"That's right, that's our Chat Noir!" Rena Rouge wrapped an arm around Adrien's shoulder.
Carapace placed the cat Miraculous in Adrien's hand. “Like she said. You are our Chat Noir.”
Adrien slipped the ring back onto his finger. Plagg appeared and looked around only to meet with Adrien's confident smile. “Told you it was just a precaution.”
“YOU DID IT!” Plagg flew around him happily. His green eyes sparkling with tears. “I knew you could! I’m so proud of you, kid!”
The kwami nuzzled into Adrien’s cheek. “Are you crying?”
“Who me?” Plagg purred happily against his holder. “Must have gotten something in my eyes.”
“Suuuure you did.” Adrien laughed, feeling the heaviness from earlier fade more with each moment. He wanted the other’s to know he was okay. “It’s not like I wanted to switch to white anyway. I think I’m purr-ety good at rocking the black.”
“You sure are.” Viperion responded, affection evident in his voice.
The eyes of the other heroes turned to the snake Miraculous holder curiously. Viperion’s cheeks turned slightly pink as he realized what he just said. Adrien had just dealt with a very serious confrontation. Luka hadn’t meant to say that thought out loud.
Adrien tilted his head. His heart felt elated at the simple phrase. Maybe his feelings for Luka weren’t so one sided? Or maybe the other hero was just glad he hadn’t become Chat Blanc. Today was a strange and complicated day. Adrien wasn’t sure he was ready to deal with exploring too much of his feelings for his teammate on top of everything else. But the possibility his feelings were returned was too much to resist flirting back. He stepped closer confidently.
“Oh? Glad you approve, handsome.” Adrien winked at Viperion.
/////////////////////////////////////////
Ladybug raised an eyebrow at the exchange. Really she was just happy to see Adrien acting like the Chat Noir she knew. Although, she hadn't expected Viperion's reaction. A possibility crossed her mind. Did they like each other?
When she looked to Carapace and Rena she saw them exchanging a knowing glance. Ladybug's head turned back to Viperion and Adrien noticing the blush of Viperion's cheeks. She looked back to Rena who gave her a look that said "Yes I am seeing what you're seeing." Oh? Two of her exes, and two of the most amazing guys she's ever known, might just like each other? What were the chances? She knew with certainty that neither of them were the one for her. But the idea that those two, who she felt deserved the world, might like each other. Immediately she wanted it to work out between them.
/////////////////////////////////////////
Seeing Adrien resist an akuma only made Viperion’s feelings for his teammate grow. It made Luka incredibly proud that Adrien was able to break free himself. Even with someone as stubborn as Gabriel Agreste trying to manipulate him.
Right after an experience like that probably wasn’t exactly the best time for flirting, but the compliment had slipped out anyway. Of course, he meant it. Adrien certainly looked incredible as Chat Noir, or in anything else he desired to wear as far as Luka was concerned. But Viperion felt his cheeks heat up from his thought spilling out of his mouth.
Apparently, Adrien didn’t mind at all. Since the blonde had no trouble complimenting him in return.
Viperion willed himself to focus. They were supposed to confront Shadowmoth soon weren't they? He tried to drown out the growing melody in his mind. Did Adrien return his feelings? Could there be something between them?
Viperion hesitated to change the subject back to the matter at hand, but whatever was going on between him and Adrien would have to wait until later.
His Miraculous alerted him that he was about to detransform, which helped him snap back to the situation at hand. “So, what was that plan you mentioned?”
“Right! The plan!” Adrien heard beeping from Carapace’s Miraculous as well. “Let’s meet back at the usual place when you’re ready. I don’t want to give him too long, but we need to make sure the kwamis are ready to go.” Adrien paused and rubbed his temples. “And I'm going to take some pain reliever. Dealing with that akuma situation gave me a headache.”
“We will meet back up then.” Ladybug agreed. “Shadowmoth’s time is almost up.”

Let’s Give ‘Em Something To Talk About
Read it on Ao3 Ship: Lukadrien Words: 2472 (Complete/One Shot) Rating: T
Summary: Chat Noir and Viperion have been spending a lot more time together-- patrolling, talking, going out to eat, to the movies, out for ice cream. Adrien hadn't read too much into it, until rumors start to swirl about the two heroes dating. The moment he thinks more about it he comes to a realization that he's relating a lot to a song he'd heard in the past. If people want to talk well... Inspired and includes lyrics from Something To Talk About - Bonnie Raitt ////////////////////// Luka scrolled through his social media feeds. The speculation and rumors kept popping up. It was true that he and Chat Noir had been spending more time together. They would volunteer to team up for patrols, do interviews together after battles, and generally they were just seen together more often. It wasn’t a shift he had caused on purpose, but Luka loved being with Adrien as much as possible.
He’d known that Chat Noir was Adrien beneath the mask for months now and that only made him admire the hero more. He also knew that Adrien was aware that he was Viperion. It helped that they had both admitted the knowledge to each other, so they didn’t have to pretend not to know. Secret identities weren’t an issue for them. The time spent together lead to Luka falling for the blonde. It was a steady fall. Friendship that bloomed into something different within his own heart. So many times a confession was on the tip of his tongue. The problem was that he was really unsure if Adrien would feel the same way towards him. It led to a couple of awkward moments between them. A confession would begin only for Luka to quickly change the direction of his sentence midway.
If the looks on Chat Noir’s face were any indication, he found the sudden nervousness a little odd. But he never commented on those moments. Aside from those times, they were very comfortable with each other. In fact they’d go out together frequently to get ice cream or see a movie. Inside Luka’s mind he was screaming at the situation around him. Sure, friends could do those things. But he didn’t WANT to just be Adrien’s friend, he wanted to see how they would work out as a couple. Luka realized the rumors swirling about Viperion and Chat Noir dating were well founded. There had been no confession, but they had essentially been seen on dates several times. He looked at some of the pictures posted alongside the rumors. Heck, if he didn’t know any better he would have thought they were a couple too. He hadn’t realized that he and Chat Noir would sit so closely together, completely comfortable in each other’s space. The pure joy he could see in both of their faces as they laughed on a rooftop could be felt through the images. There was noticeable chemistry in every image. “People think we’re dating.” Luka looked up at Sass. He’d been a permanent holder of the snake Miraculous for a while now. “Well, I know that is something you would like.” The kwami said sympathetically. “But situations like these are complicated, yes?” “Yeah. They are.” Luka sighed. “It might be what I want but what if it’s not what Adrien wants?” ///////////////////////////////////////////////// Adrien lounged in bed scrolling through the very same rumors Luka had been looking at. He knew the two of them had been spending a lot more time together. It was time he’d come to cherish. But he hadn’t even noticed how close they had become. It was so natural and organic that it had crept up on him. He’d sit in bed after they hung out and fall asleep with a smile.
In his dreams their conversations would continue. Comfortable, happy, free, being with Luka made Adrien feel all of those things. But he hadn’t even thought about the idea that they could be a couple. He’d gotten over a previous crush months prior and wasn’t really looking for a relationship. And yet… He couldn’t help but laugh at himself. “What are you laughing at?” Plagg asked before gulping down another slice of cheese. “Can you date someone and not realize it?” “So, Luka huh?” Adrien just laughed some more. It was really obvious to anyone but him, wasn’t it? Everyone else could see it. He wondered if Luka did too. Something told him the other guy was more aware of what was happening between them. “Oh!” Adrien sat straight up in the bed. “A few times lately he was acting really nervous. He would be say things like ‘I know we’ve been spending more time together lately’ and then trail off or look away. I didn’t catch on. I’m such an idiot! I think he was trying to confess! Then I made him feel awkward because I hadn’t even thought about it. I just really love spending time with him and going to the movies and restaurants and out to get ice cream and watching the sunset with him.” Plagg laughed at his holder’s realization. “It definitely does sounds like you’re already dating.” “I didn’t expect it to happen like that!” Adrien admitted. “I thought I’d ask someone out, or maybe they would ask me, you know? Something official. Then we’d try going out on dates. But this just sort of… happened.” “And the whole world noticed before you did.” Plagg gave him a wicked grin. Adrien thought about it all. It was undeniable once he opened that door in his mind. He'd seen the pictures. Chat Noir looking at Viperion with admiration. It was so obvious. “Luka is so kind, caring, talented, compassionate, he’s fun to be around, he’s so understanding, and he’s handsome too.” He practically swooned and plopped back down into the bed closing his eyes as he fell. “I think I’m in love.” “Oh man, you’ve got it bad kid.” Plagg rolled his eyes at Adrien’s dramatics, but he was happy for his holder. Adrien’s green eyes popped open as the situation triggered a memory. “There’s an old song about something like this. I heard it on a random playlist once. Thought it was a fun concept for a song, but I didn’t know I’d wind up living it.” ////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Luka figured he and Adrien should probably at least acknowledge the rumors about them existed but he wasn’t quite sure how to bring it up. He was on his way to meet up with Chat Noir now, so maybe this was the time? When he got to their favorite rooftop meeting spot, Viperion saw a blanket spread out. There were a few pillows, a picnic basket, and a portable speaker. It looked very much like Chat Noir had set up a charming lunch date. But they had certainly had other outings together that would look like dates to anyone on the outside. Internally Luka was screaming. This whole situation was such a romantic gesture, it was undeniable. Surely, Adrien realized this? Luka knew he was a romantic, just as much as he himself was. But the guy had been isolated from others for much of his life, maybe it was just wishful thinking on Luka’s part. “This is really nice.” Viperion sat down beside him. “It’s all for you.” Chat Noir said in a soft voice. That was much to blatant for Viperion to ignore. He swallowed hard and felt the blood rush to his cheeks. “Oh? Well- I— Thank you.” Where was Adrien going with all of this? The blonde laughed nervously. “I should just cut to the chase.” Viperion tilted his head. “I’m sure you’ve seen the rumors about us.” “Yeah, I’ve seen them. People really shouldn’t just assume things.” Chat Noir nodded in amusement. “They definitely shouldn’t, but I saw the pictures too… and I can’t blame them for thinking that way. I really love spending time with you. Getting to know you better over the past few months has been incredible. You’re an amazing person.” Viperion’s blush deepened. “Thank you, you’re pretty amazing yourself. I love spending time with you too.” Was this the part where Adrien added the ‘but?’ Was this when he asked that they clear up the rumors? To do some interview or post somewhere explain that they are just really good friends? Luka’s heart wanted to hope otherwise. He just wanted to be with Adrien. But he couldn’t make the other guy fall in love with him. Maybe this whole rooftop setup was just Adrien realizing Luka’s feelings and letting him down gently. Adrien was so kindhearted, he’d never purposefully hurt him. “There’s a song I’d like you to listen to.” Chat Noir said and pulled out his baton to play it over the speaker. “I heard it a long time ago, but didn’t know I’d wind up living the song.” Viperion raised an eyebrow at that. He wasn’t expecting this sort of shift. They shared songs often, both being musicians and music enthusiasts, but something about this was different. As the song began Luka felt it sounded familiar. A tune his mom might have played on the boat when he was a child. Adrien had eclectic taste but the sound wasn’t one he necessarily expected. “Just… listen to the lyrics. You’ll see what I mean.” Chat Noir said rubbing the back of his neck nervously as the song began to play. People are talking, talking 'bout people I hear them whisper, you won't believe it They think we're lovers kept under cover I'll just ignore it, but they keep saying We laugh just a little too loud Stand just a little too close We stare just a little too long Maybe they're seeing something we don't, darlin' Viperion’s eyes grew wider as the lyrics continued. Chat Noir was telling him how he felt about the rumors through those words, but he was suggesting something very different than denying them. A black, gloved hand reached out to him and Viperion took it.
Let's give 'em something to talk about Let's give 'em something to talk about “Well, I wouldn’t mind that at all.” Viperion hurried the words in that confirmed his own feelings as Chat Noir shot him a familiar smirk and pulled him to his feet. Viperion couldn’t help but laugh. Adrien wasn’t afraid to be bold once he realized how he felt and especially knowing Luka felt the same way. Chat Noir led Viperion into an impromptu dance.
Let's give 'em something to talk about How about love? The next verse came in and Chat Noir sung along as he confessed through the lyrics with dramatic gestures.
“I feel so foolish, I never noticed You'd act so nervous Could you be falling for me? It took a rumor to make me wonder Now I'm convinced I'm going under Thinking 'bout you everyday Dreaming 'bout you every night I'm hoping that you feel the same way” “I think that’s pretty obvious.” Viperion interjected. Chat Noir’s face lit up even more and he continued singing. “Now that we know it, let's really show it, darlin’! Let's give 'em something to talk about A little mystery to figure out, babe” Viperion had caught onto the familiar lyrics of the chorus and joined in on the singing.
“Let's give 'em something to talk about How about love, love, love?” The song continued with a long fade out and both of them dissolved into a fit of laughter. It was relief and joy and embracing their chemistry. Sure, maybe it was a little over the top, but so were they. It felt right and was certainly a memory they would cherish. “I’m sorry I didn’t realize it sooner.” Chat Noir said. “I’ve just been so happy to spend time with you and love our conversations. I mean, good grief! We’ve basically been dating for at least a month now.”
“Yeah…” Viperion agreed. “I tried to confess to you a few times, but I liked what we had and didn’t want to mess it up if you didn’t feel the same way I did.” “It just kind of happened didn't it? At least for me.” Chat Noir mused. “Not like a crush out of the blue one day. Subtle shifts over time. So subtle, I didn’t even realize just how far I’d fallen for you. It was such a natural progression. Being with you… it feels…”
“Like it’s meant to be?” Viperion offered.
“Yeah, exactly!” Chat Noir laughed at his own expense. “All it took was a bunch of random strangers pointing it out for me to see it clearly.”
“You would have gotten there eventually.” “Right, you don’t have to deny it I can be naive at times.”
Viperion didn’t bother denying it any further, just smiling in amusement instead. “That’s what I thought.” Chat Noir grabbed one of Viperion’s hands and kissed the back of it. “Would it be too much to say that I love you?”
“No.” Viperion leaned in closer. “Because I love you too.” Chat Noir closed the distance further with a quiet laugh. “That’s good because this whole thing with the song and all would have been really awkward if you didn’t.”
“True.” Viperion nodded with a smile continuing to lean in so their foreheads touched. “You said we should give them something to talk about. What about if they catch us kissing? That would certainly give them something.” “It would, wouldn’t it?” Chat Noir pulled back a bit before turning his head and pressing his lips into Viperion’s who returned the kiss with enthusiasm. It was a sweet first kiss, not too long, but a promise of more to come. After they pulled away from each other Viperion looked around. “What is it?” Chat asked. He shrugged. “Well, no one was around to see that.” “And?”
Viperion narrowed his eyes and smirked. “I guess we’ll have to do that more often, if we want people to talk.”
“Ah yes, somehow I’m completely okay with this plan.” Chat Noir leaned in again and gave Viperion a quick peck on the lips. Then he lead him back towards the picnic he’d set up. “This isn’t just for the aesthetic, you know. There is actually food in the basket.”
“It does look nice though.” Viperion commented appreciating the time put into putting it together.
Chat Noir’s eyes lit up. “Let’s take a photo with it.” “Oh absolutely!”
They took a selfie together and Chat Noir used his baton to post the photo. He typed the caption in with Viperion looking over his shoulder. It simply said “Lunch date.” After posting he tucked the baton away and they enjoyed the sandwiches, drinks and pastries that the basket held. They talked well into the evening, ending in a kiss good night. ////////////////////////////// When Adrien got back home he checked the post he had made on his official Chat Noir account. He couldn’t say that he hadn’t expected it to blow up with the rumors already going about their possible relationship, but still, even for him that was a lot of comments and likes.
None of the comments meant as much to him as the one from Viperion himself.
“Guess we gave them something to talk about.😘”
Adrien smiled.
Let the people talk. He was happy, in love, and not afraid to let the world know it.

Secret Identities and Misunderstanding
Lukadrien Fluffuary (using this prompt list) Day 10 - Asking For Reassurance Prev | Next Read it on Ao3 Words: 1811 The akumatized man blasted beams from a camera that froze everyone in poses like statues. Apparently, the superstars on the red carpet weren’t giving a photographer the poses he thought they should. They also weren’t holding the poses they did give long enough, as far as he was concerned. His frustrations were enough for Shadowmoth to send out an akuma to latch onto those negative emotions. Paris’ most famous model was unfortunately one of the many celebrities at the premiere. Which made him a target. “Second Chance!” Viperion activated his power and ran to scoop Adrien into his arms. His Miraculous giving him the option to try again if things went wrong. Adrien’s arms wrapped around his neck easily as Viperion carried him away bridal style. “My hero!” Adrien swooned once they were safely on a rooftop. Viperion quietly sat him down and looked back towards the chaos. Ladybug was zipping around with her yoyo as the beams fired. He seemed unsure, his shoulders tense. “You really swept me off my feet!” Adrien tried again flirtatiously to ease his boyfriend’s stress. When no response came Adrien put a hand on Viperion’s shoulder. “I know you have to get back to the fight but… something’s up. Want to talk about it?”
Viperion shrugged and tried to brush off his feelings. “I think I’m just reading too much into things… don’t worry about it. I don’t really have time to talk right now anyway.” The blonde crossed his arms and shifted his weight to one foot. “You’ve activated your power. You have a few minutes then you can reset or have to recharge anyway. We have time. I’m here for you. Something’s bothering you. Talk to me.” “Do you-“ Viperion paused and took a deep breath. “God. I’m just really overthinking things today or something…Ignore me I’m being stupid.” “You’re not being stupid. What is it?” “Do you still think I’m the right fit for this?” He gestured towards his Miraculous. “Of course I do!” Adrien’s arms uncrossed and he moved closer. “You are a hero. I meant every word I said when I suggested that Ladybug give you the Miraculous. Why are you questioning it?” Viperion could reset the loop anyway if he wanted to take it back. So why bother holding his feelings in? Even if he didn’t go back, Adrien was someone he trusted more than anyone else. “Sometimes I wonder if it would have been better for you to keep it instead.” Viperion admitted. Adrien scoffed at that. “I tried so many times. There were so many loops. Yet, I failed. Every. Single. Time. How can you think I’d be a better fit than you? I’m not meant for that Miraculous. You are.” “You only failed because Ladybug needed Chat Noir too.” Viperion pointed out. “You’ve told me before he never appeared in any of your loops. He’s the one that made the difference.” Pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration, Adrien sighed. “You are the one that made the difference.” “Okay, maybe she did need me, but she needed Chat Noir too.” It was true and the one thing that made Adrien not feel so bad about his failures. Yes, he was necessary for the plan. Just not in the way he had hoped back then. “Okay, you’re right, but Ladybug and Chat Noir have called on you so many times since then, because you are good at what you do.” “If you say so.” Viperion glanced back at the battle. He could go back in time, grab Adrien and join Ladybug immediately using his power. If he needed to, that is. His Miraculous let him know he still had some time left. “I know so.” Adrien emphasized. Viperion lifted an eyebrow beneath his mask. Something about the way Adrien said that made it sound like there was more to the story. “You sure you’re not just biased because we’re together? It’s just… how can you be so sure I’m the right fit? There are plenty of other people in Paris. You’re not on the team, not that you wouldn’t make a great hero yourself. I mean, you’d be amazing with the right Miraculous! Heck, you’ve saved my life without one. You’re a natural! But how can you know how well I really do all of this if you’re not seeing it first hand?” “I’m am biased towards you in a lot of ways. I think you’re amazing. You know that. But when it comes to you, as a Miraculous holder? It’s just a fact that you are good at what you do. No one could utilize this power as well as you. Besides I was sure when I suggested you get that Miraculous in the first place that you had the qualities of a hero. We weren’t dating then.” Adrien stated matter-of-factly. “I guess…” Viperion glanced at the time left again. “Honestly, I’m wondering if Chat Noir doesn’t like me being on the team. He acts… different around me. He’s a great guy, he’d never want to hurt anyone. It just makes me wonder if he’d like to let someone else try the snake Miraculous instead for a while.” “Stop. Please.” Adrien held out his hands. “Are you doubting yourself because Chat Noir is acting weird around you?” “Well yeah.” Viperion admitted. “I’m usually pretty good at reading people. Hearing melodies and all that you know? But his confuses me. He has a wall up with me in particular. Like he’s blocking out the tune. What I do hear of it, sounds amazing and almost familiar. I see him interact with others and it’s not the same as how he is with me. He’s too careful around me. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t think I should be on the team at all, but he doesn’t want to hurt me by letting me know.” “You’ve got to be kitten me.” Adrien muttered as he hung his head and rubbed his temples. “What was that?” Viperion noticed his boyfriend’s hesitation. The blonde took a deep breath. “That’s not it at all.” He began. “He might be holding back around you but not because he doesn’t want you on the team or because he thinks someone else would be a better Miraculous holder than you.” “Then why is he so closed off around me?” “Maybe…” Adrien closed his eyes tightly. When he opened them again there was a decisiveness to his expression. “Maybe he is trying really hard not to flirt with you every time you show up looking amazing in that outfit.” “Huh?” Viperion wasn’t expecting this reaction at all. “Maybe he wants to tell you how purrrrfectly you use your power? Maybe he thinks you are incredible!” Adrien stepped closer to Viperion. “Maybe he’s struggling to hold back how much he adores you. Maybe he’s tired of pretending you’re just another teammate! Maybe he just wants to kiss you after a successful battle!” “...Adrien?” Viperion didn’t know what to say to that. Adrien looked over at the battle currently happening a few blocks away. Rena had joined Ladybug and they were holding their own, but he really should get over there soon. Viperion’s timer was nearly up and he’d need to recharge. Adrien wanted to remember this conversation. He hoped Luka would let the time run out. “Maybe… Chat Noir was trying to follow the stupid rules and in doing so acted in ways that made you question yourself.” Adrien looked deeply into his eyes. The soft gaze made Viperion melt inside. “Maybe he’s sick of the rules, especially since they made you feel like you’re not the amazing hero and person that you are.” In that moment, the wall Chat Noir had up crumbled. Luka realized the muffled melody behind the wall sounded familiar for a reason. All along, the hidden tune was Adrien’s. The Miraculous magic was strong, but Adrien’s words let Luka finally see past it. Viperion’s eyes widened as it sunk in. “You…” A Cheshire Cat grin appeared on Adrien’s face when he saw that his boyfriend had put the pieces together. “Me.” It all made sense to Viperion now, and he wasted no time leaning forward and kissing Adrien. They were interrupted when Viperion’s transformation faded. Luka and Adrien both laughed and pressed their foreheads together. “So, I guess I was right about you making an amazing superhero then…” Luka laughed as he reached into his pocket to give a snack to Sass. “And really wrong about Chat Noir hating me.” Plagg emerged from his hiding place and teased his holder playfully. “You’re so bad at holding in your looOOOoove for him, he thought you hated him. Kid, that is hilarious!” Adrien rolled his eyes. He knew Plagg was right and he was never going to hear the end of it.  “Claws out.” There was a flash of green light and Adrien became Chat Noir. If he’d had any doubts left they would have vanished then. Luka noticed with amusement that Chat Noir’s tail flicked behind him. Not that Luka would ever pursue another crush while he was dating Adrien, but he couldn’t deny he’d been attracted to Chat Noir. Not only that, but he respected him a lot as Paris’ protector. Now that he knew the truth, things just made a lot more sense in Luka’s heart. His boyfriend never ceased to amaze him. “I’m in love with you and had to hide it! And what good did that do? You thought I didn’t want you on the team?” Chat Noir pouted. “Stupid rules. That’s so messed up! I want to be with you as much as possible and not just because you’re my boyfriend. I mean it. You are amazing as a Miraculous holder too. I’ve wanted to tell you the truth for so long.” The feline hero leaned forward for another kiss. “Nope. Not yet.” Luka gently pushed Chat Noir’s nose back and gestured towards the fight still going on. “You said something about a kiss after a successful battle right?” “Let’s wrap this up real quick then.” Chat Noir grabbed one of Luka’s hands and kissed it. “You coming, m’love?” He vaulted towards the fight. Luka looked down at Sass, who nodded. “Ready!” Soon, Viperion and Chat Noir joined the battle. It didn’t take long for Paris to be restored. Afterwards, Viperion and Chat Noir snuck off together. “Do you know how long I’ve wanted to kiss you with both of us transformed?” Chat Noir caressed Viperion’s face and tilted his head. “Well, we’ve been dating a month…” Viperion leaned in. “True. But I was dreaming of you even before then.” Chat Noir crashed his lips into Viperion’s. The snake hero’s hand reached up into the blonde's hair, pushing them closer together. Turns out Viperion had been mistaken. Chat Noir absolutely loved having him on the team.

Change Things Up
Lukadrien Fluffuary (using this prompt list) Day 20: Stealing/Wearing Each Other’s Clothes Prev | Next Read it on Ao3 Words: 1349 Rating: T Tags: Kwami Swap, Post-Reveal Lukadrien Chat Noir leaned on his baton thoughtfully. “We should swap." “Huh?” Viperion raised an eyebrow. “Swap what?” “Miraculous.” “Really? Where’s this coming from all of the sudden?” “I was just wondering what you’d look like with mine and thought ‘hey why should I wonder when I could know?’” Chat Noir shrugged nonchalantly. Viperion hummed as he considered it. “Well, now I’m curious too.” The black clad hero laughed and grabbed his boyfriend by the hand. “C’mere then.” He pulled him into a nearby alley. They both detransformed in the secluded spot. Adrien started to take off his ring and Luka reached to his bracelet. “And just what are you two doing?” Plagg asked with his paws on his hips. “We’re only trading for a little while.” Adrien reassured his kwami and handed him a slice of Camembert for good measure. “Don’t worry.”
Luka gave Sass a hard boiled egg. “Do you think our kwamis have the smelliest favorite foods?” Adrien took note of the snack Sass ate. “I wouldn’t doubt it.” Luka rolled his eyes. “You love us.” Plagg wrapped an arm around Sass who nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, yeah…” Adrien shook his head with a smile. They did. Their lives were better with the kwamis in them, even if they did have to mask interesting smells with their cologne. Miraculous jewels were swapped between the couple. “Ready?” Adrien said excitedly. “Yep, whenever you are my muse.” Luka replied with a smile. Then, Adrien hesitated. “Last time I really didn’t want to look too much like Chat Noir…” “So you were bald instead. Certainly a choice kid.” Plagg teased. Adrien pouted at him. “You know that the Miraculous reflects what the wearer wishes.” Sass cut in. “If you’d rather your look be different than before, it certainly would be.” “Thanks Sass.” Adrien nodded before transforming. Luka followed suit. The magic washed over them both. Aspik now stood where Adrien had been. This time his hair was exposed. It looked the same as it did as Chat Noir the only difference being that the blonde faded into blue tips at the end. “That’s a nice touch.” The temporary cat Miraculous holder reached out to touch Aspik’s hair.”You look amazing.” “Thanks.” Aspik blushed at the complement. Then he looked at the hero Luka had transformed into. His hair was still black that faded into blue. His cat-like eyes were blue. On his head were cat ears identical to the ones Chat Noir had. The top of the suit, however, was quite different. It looked like a biker jacket with zippers and buckles that reminded Adrien of something a rockstar might wear on stage. His gloves were black with claws forming on the ends of the fingers. The pants were black as well and on his feet were combat boots. The toes of the boots were silver and had lines to suggest cat paws, just like Adrien’s were as Chat Noir. His tail was identical to Chat Noir’s. “Wow! So do you.” Aspik winked at him before making his way to the rooftops above. Luka grabbed the baton from behind his back and extended it. He managed to get above the rooftops, but he was further up than he meant to go. Ten feet above his desired height, he wobbled on the end of the baton. “It takes some getting used to.” Aspik called out from the rooftop. He jumped up, grabbed his boyfriend and the baton and lowered them down. “I had plenty of time to practice with your miraculous…before I realized I needed to be Chat Noir in the situation.” The temporary feline hero frowned at that. He knew that his previous time as Aspik had taken a toll on Adrien. “Hey, you don’t need to beat yourself up over that.” “I’m not! Really. I was just saying. This isn’t my first time using this Miraculous!” Aspik’s smile was genuine and it eased Luka’s worry. “The fact that I’m using it again without merging it with another kinda says a lot don’t you think?” “I guess it does.” “Plus, that whole situation lead to me realizing that this Miraculous was meant for you. It led to me suggesting it for you. Which led to us seeing each other more. I think it was meant to happen. So we’d end up where we are now.” Aspik glanced to his boyfriend’s tail, noticing that it was moving around. He narrowed his eyes mischievously. “So, you have a name to go with the look, handsome?” Luka hesitated for a moment, but blurted out the first thing that came to mind. “Minuit Chat.” “Midnight Cat? I like it.” Aspik walked around him and took in the details of the suit. It certainly flattered Luka. The snake hero did have a plan in mind. He flirted shamelessly. “Now, I’m quite a fan of Viperion myself. But I gotta say you can pull off anything. Consider this snake charmed.” Minuit Chat laughed at the pun. He was feeling quite confident in his boyfriend’s gaze. “There’s only one Chat Noir. The best holder of this Miraculous to ever live. Plagg said it himself. So, obviously a lot of this is inspired by you, babe. ” “Is it now?” Aspik stopped in front of his boyfriend and walked closer flirtatiously. He knew the effect Luka had on him as Chat Noir and wanted to let Minuit Chat know how it felt. “You are incredible, m’love.” Aspik’s gloved hand reached up to caress Minuit Chat’s cheek. “I adore you.” When the blonde leaned in he heard a soft rumble coming from Minuit Chat’s chest. “Wh-what?” The cat hero sputtered and jumped back, cutting off the noise in his surprise. Aspik laughed at his reaction. “Kind of a strange feeling isn’t it?” “Oh!” Blue cat-eyes widened in realization. “I was purring!? You made me purr! I couldn’t help it I just—“ It took Aspik a moment to get his laughter under control. “You don’t have to explain it, or be embarrassed. If anyone gets it, it’s me. And from this purr-spective I have to agree with you when you say it’s really cute and endearing.” “I just wasn’t expecting it.” Minuit Chat tilted his head. “It really is just a natural reaction for you isn’t it? Not that I ever thought otherwise when you told me so. It’s just interesting to have it happen to me.” “Yeah, a natural reaction that has started happening to me even outside of the suit. But that’s just because I’ve been Chat Noir for over four years now. I don’t think it’s going to effect you quite like that. Unless we make this kwami swapping thing a regular occurrence for a long time.” Minuit Chat took a step forward. “I like that I can make you purr even outside of the suit.” “I know you do, m’love.” Aspik winked. “But right now. It’s my turn. So come here kitty.” He grabbed Minuit Chat’s suit and pulled him close. “Love you, my muse.” Minuit Chat tilted his head and leaned in for the kiss he knew was coming. When Aspik’s lips crashed into Minuit Chat’s it didn’t take long for the purring to start back up. Aspik felt arms wrap around his waist as his own hands found their way into his boyfriend’s hair. Adrien felt a familiar sensation in his chest. Yes, Luka was the one using the cat miraculous right now. The guitarist’s purring was loud and it made the blonde happy to have that effect. But Adrien had been Chat Noir for too long. There was no use in trying to hide it and he didn’t want to. So instead, he pressed harder into the kiss. The purr in his own chest rumbled in harmony with his boyfriend’s. When their kiss ended they stood in each other’s embrace. As soon as their eyes made contact they both burst into amused laughter. “Guess we could say that kiss was purrrrfect?” Minuit Chat teased. His tail flicked behind him. “Pfft. You have some nerve stealing my heart and my lines!” Aspik retorted playfully.

Late Night Talks (and Kisses)
Lukadrien Fluffuary (using this prompt list) Day 16 - Long Walks and/or Conversations Prev | Next Read it on Ao3 Words: 1090 Rating: T Tags: Established Relationship, Aged-Up (Young Adults), Dorks In Love,  The night had started with a patrol. Chat Noir and Viperion ran the route together. Instead of leading to a battle with a superpowered foe, it just became a run along the rooftops, enjoying each other’s company. It was a peaceful night. As they ran the conversation between them drifted from one subject to the next easily. With the patrol route long complete, they opted to detransform and walk along the streets as civilians—talking as they strolled. “How is it already after midnight?” Luka glanced at his phone. “We’ve been talking for hours, but I barely even noticed.” Adrien laced their hands together and winked at him. “Because we’ve been hanging out together all night and time flies when you’re having fun!” “You have a point.” Luka smiled at his boyfriend softly. He looked into those green eyes and saw so much life. Adrien was someone who saw endless possibilities after finally getting past the desire to live to meet his father’s expectations. The former model had really become his own person over the past few years. Luka was incredibly proud of him. He hoped Adrien’s future would be full of freedom and trying new things. “Luka?” Adrien was blushing in his boyfriends soft gaze.
Blue eyes blinked as Luka realized he’d been staring directly into Adrien’s. “Oh sorry, I was just thinking.” “About?” Adrien asked tenderly. “You.” Luka felt the heat creep into his cheeks. But he didn’t dare stop his words. “I was thinking about you. About how far you’ve come. What possibilities your future might hold. Where you’ll be in a few years. I’m so proud of you. Look at the man you’ve become, Adrien.” Adrien took a step in front of Luka and turned to face him. The movement stopped them both in their tracks. His voice dropped an octave. “You don’t know what you do to me when you talk like that, M’love.” Luka wanted to lean in and kiss him senseless right then and there. “I have a pretty good idea.” “Hmmmm….. Well, part of the reason I was able to become the man I am today is because of you. Look at the man YOU’VE become. Someone who still cares for others, but has learned to not neglect his own needs or wants…” Adrien gave him a smirk and traced teasingly along Luka’s jawline. It amused him to see Luka’s jaw tense. “And as far as my future. You’re not gonna have to wonder about the paw-sibilities or how things turn out. Because I imagine my future with you in it. I don’t want to think of it any other way. I love you.” Then the blonde had the audacity to turn his back to him with a nonchalant shrug. He took a few steps away and continued in a sing-song voice. “Of course, that is up to you too. If you don’t want that, that’s fine. I can play it by ear on my own. But I can’t help but think my future melody would sound better as a duet.” In an instant Luka was in front of him again. The sudden movement led to Adrien backing into the wall of a building. “Our future melody, my Muse. You know I want that too.” Adrien’s hands were suddenly in Luka’s hair. He leaned up and kissed his boyfriend’s lips. Luka hummed into the contact and tapped one of Adrien’s legs with his hand. His boyfriend got the memo. Soon his legs wrapped around Luka’s waist as the guitarist held him up and pressed him into the building. A purr rumbled in Adrien’s chest as the kiss deepened. It was several moments before they parted breathlessly. “Wow.” Adrien sighed blissfully and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s neck. Luka was still holding him up easily. “You’re so strong! The superhero stuff has some benefits in the romance department. Why have we never kissed like this before? I think you could carry me home even without being transformed!” “I love you. But that is not happening.” Luka laughed and removed his hands from under Adrien’s legs. His boyfriend placed his feet on the ground. “And next time, you’re holding me up.” Just a few paces away, that was as far as Luka got down the sidewalk, before Adrien grabbed his shoulder. In the same movement he was turning Luka around and backing him into the wall of the same building. Luka couldn’t help but laugh. He should have expected this. In the past, Luka could be hesitant to express what he wanted. Putting the needs and wants of others before his own. Adrien absolutely adored that Luka no longer felt the need to put himself last. So, if Luka told him what he wanted well, he was happy to provide. “If that’s what you want, I have no intention of making you wait.” Adrien’s hands grabbed Luka’s legs. He easily hoisted the taller man up. Luka wrapped himself around his boyfriend’s waist and happily took his turn as Adrien crashed their lips together and held Luka up against the wall. The street was clear, so Plagg flew out from his hiding place. He gestured to them dramatically. “Just, look at them.” Sass floated up to join his fellow kwami. “Not familiar with this particular ritual, but they are obviously very happy.”’ “Yeah… and I’m happy for them but I have never, in all my thousands of years had a holder as lovey dovey as this!” “Hmmm….” Sass looked at the couple and back at Plagg. “And yet, you’ve also never had a holder that you liked better.” Plagg sighed, but he couldn’t help but smile. It was true. He’d never felt a connection like the one he and Adrien shared. He’d never been treated so well by his Miraculous wearer or felt so protective of the one wearing the ring. The man truly was the greatest person to ever wear the Cat Miraculous. “I can say the very same for mine.” Sass smiled. “You heard them talking about their future. I believe we are going to just have to get used to this my friend.” Adrien and Luka finally parted and the blonde turned to his kwami. “I can’t help it, Plagg. I’m in love.” Plagg rolled his eyes. “I feel like we have a pretty fair arrangement. You deal with me being a cheesy romantic, and I deal with carrying around your literal cheese.” He held up a piece of Camembert and threw it to the kwami who happily gobbled it up.

Contagious
Lukadrien Fluffuary (using this prompt list) Day 4 - Make Them Laugh/Being Silly Prev | Next Read it on Ao3 Words: 910 Rating: T Carapace explained that he’d been booked solid the following weekend. Usually, he’d still make time for a patrol or two, but the way his schedule lined up he knew that wasn’t possible. His career as a DJ was taking off and the upcoming gigs were important. Of course, his girlfriend was going with him for support. Which meant Rena wouldn’t be running their patrol routes either. “Sorry, I hate to ask you guys to cover for us.” He said. “It’s not a problem at all!” Chat Noir smiled. “I’m glad things are going so well.” “I agree. This is your dream you’re talking about here.” Viperion looked at his friend with pride. “We understand if you need to scale back patrols while you build things up in your career." “Thanks?” Carapace appreciated the sentiment but the way Viperion had emphasized a certain word didn’t go unnoticed by him. He almost snorted at the remark, but kept his composure. There was a beat of silence before Chat Noir burst into laughter. “What?” Viperion asked. “What did I say?” “It’s not what you said. It’s how you said it.” Carapace placed a hand on Viperion’s shoulder and looked at him in mock sorrow doing his best impersonation of a doctor from a soap opera. “I have some news for you, buddy. I’m afraid it’s contagious.”
“What are you talking about? What’s contagious?” Viperion looked from Carapace to Chat Noir. “Why are you laughing?” “Should have told you there was a chance of this happening.” Chat Noir continued the scene Carapace had set. “But I guess I have passed It on to you. My burden is now yours too.” “Ah yes, the dreaded pun disease.” Carapace shook his head. “My best bud here has a severe case. Had it for years, in fact. You’ve heard the symptoms. Tragic.” “It's true. It was impossible for me to keep the signs hidden.” Chat Noir played along, easily falling into the dramatics. “I thought your pun was hissssterical. Symptoms are indeed starting to show. There’s no turning back now, my love.” Viperion rolled his eyes at their antics. “All I said was that we understand if he needs to scale things back.” Carapace couldn’t hold it in anymore. He broke character and threw his head back laughing. Chat Noir chuckled again before approaching his boyfriend. “What you actually said was that we’d understand if he needed to scale things back.” Chat Noir circled behind him playfully and whispered not so quietly in his ear. “With emphasissss on the word scale.” Viperion thought about it. It was true. He had and he didn’t even realize it. Scale…like the scales on his suit. Like the scales of a snake. He had emphasized the word. Viperion brought his palm to his face. That definitely happened. “Remember the other day?” Chat Noir reminded his boyfriend. “You told me I pun so much that meow certain words just come out that way naturally.” Viperion gave a crooked grin. It was anyone’s guess if his boyfriend had replaced the word “now” on purpose or out of habit at this point. “Yeah. Because you do!” “Well, maybe it’s rubbing of on you.” “It’s all your fault then.” Viperion accused playfully. “You’ve ruined me.” “Ruined or improved?” Chat teased. “Is the pun disease really that dreadful? Or a blessing in disguise.” Looking at the couple, Carapace saw an opportunity to mess with his friend. He slipped back into character. “You know experts have theorized that the dreaded pun disease spreads through lip contact.” “Ahh…Lip contact.” Viperion caught on easily and narrowed his eyes at Chat Noir. “There’s been a lot of that lately, my muse. Purrhaps we should lay off a while to ease my symptoms?! Ah, there went another one. Sorry love, but I’m afraid we’ll need to stop kissing so much.” Chat Noir shot daggers at Carapace with his eyes. Which only made Nino erupt into laughter again. “Noooooo…. Don’t even joke like that!” His arm draped across his forehead. Slipping back into the soap opera like scene. “I’d miss the kissing too much. I don’t think that I could bear to live without it.” Despite it all being a silly bit, started at his own expense no less, Viperion didn’t want their little scene to end there. If they were playing this out like a soap opera then… In an instant, Viperion grabbed Chat Noir by the bell and moved so that their faces were mere inches apart. His voice dropped an octave. “I’ll never stop loving you. Even if the dreaded pun disease kills me.” With that, Viperion crashed their lips together. The kiss was short and dramatic. He released Chat Noir’s bell and pulled away with flourish. This had clearly caught the blonde off guard and he was blushing furiously. Carapace snorted. “Oh the suave and smooth Chat Noir, hero of Paris, reduced to a flustered mess.” Chat Noir shrugged, cheeks still scarlet. “It’s not like I mind but….” Then he glared at his boyfriend and spread his arms wide over his head. “How does someone say “even if the dreaded pun disease kills me’ and make it hot?! Seriously?!” “Maybe some of your charm was contagious too, babe.” Viperion winked at him, playing it up even more. This only added to Chat Noir’s flustered state. “You’re killing me.” The laughter erupted from Carapace and the couple couldn’t help but join in. “You two are too much.”

5 AM
Ao3 Lukadrien One shot Words: 1311 Rating: T Set in the Turning Tables AU but this fic stands alone. It’s just a fluffy future fic. ////////////////////////
Luka didn’t generally think of himself as a morning person. He didn’t mind them, it’s just that he preferred to—and usually did—wake up at whatever time naturally would. Which, naturally, was much later than 5 AM, the exact time that was lit up on his phone screen. The blaring of his alarm made him groan in agitation. He had chosen a song he really loved for the alarm sound. It seemed like a good idea when he set it. Now, he made a mental note to not do that again. It was a great tune that didn’t deserve to be associated with being woken up before the sunrise. He turned off the alarm and sat his phone back down. His eyes roamed around the nearly pitch black bedroom that was illuminated only a little by the streetlights filtering through the edge of the curtains. The lack of light didn’t exactly give him any motivation to get up. Luka felt movement beside him. A sleepy voice mumbled mockingly, “Oh that’s no problem at all! Sure, you can come by and pick up the guitar at 5:30 in the morning.” Those were his exact words on the phone the night before. He’d done some customizing on a client’s guitar. It wasn’t major work, but they were only in Paris for a few days. Of course, they wanted to take the instrument back with them. This Luka understood. He also preferred traveling with his instruments vs shipping them. He just hadn’t realized the client would have to come by to pick it up early the next morning before catching a flight. Luka pouted. “I should have just offered to run it by the hotel they were staying at last night. But they offered to come by and I just agreed.” His own voice sounded raspy to his ears. It really was way too early. “Yeah… you did. Now we’re both… awake.” Adrien certainly didn’t sound very awake.
“I’ve got to get up or I’ll just fall asleep again.” Luka turned on his side and went to pull the blanket off of himself. “Nooooo.“ Adrien’s strong arms wrapped around Luka under the covers. “Don’t go. You’re so warm.” “Babe, you can’t do this to me. They are going to be here soon.” Luka’s eyes threatened to flutter closed. He very much would rather just stay here in bed with Adrien. What would it hurt to go back to sleep even if for just a little while? “Just stay a few more minutes.” Adrien pressed into Luka’s back in a comforting, familiar embrace. Luka was already way too close to falling back to sleep and he knew his husband far too well. “Don’t do it.” Do what?” Adrien said groggily but the mischief in his voice still rang through. Before Luka could respond he heard the rumbling sound as Adrien began to purr. It was a trait he’d developed from being Chat Noir for so many years. The sound was more comforting than any white noise machine he’d ever heard. It instantly made Luka relax when he was tense. Sometimes Adrien would even use it to calm himself down when he was stressed about something. It was such a soothing sound and being wrapped in Adrien’s arms was so comforting that Luka could feel himself drifting to…. The alarm blared again and Luka’s eyes snapped open. He looked at his phone that now said 5:20. Had he really fallen asleep for nearly 20 minutes? Adrien stirred behind him. “Hmmm… backup alarm. You’re so smart.” “I just have 10 minutes before they get here. I really have to get up this time.” “Fine.” Adrien whined but removed his arm from around his husband. “I guess you can go.” He might have been free from Adrien’s embrace but Luka didn’t actually want to be. The fact that he continued laying there a bit longer made Adrien laugh sleepily. Luka surrendered to his fate with a sigh that he was sure sounded like a disgruntled toddler, but he couldn’t be bothered to care. Finally, he unwrapped himself from the warm blankets and got out of bed. When he reached the door of the attached bathroom he switched on the light to it while “accidentally” also hitting the light for the bedroom itself. “Oops!” Adrien winced at the sudden brightness, but it was Plagg who actually hissed at him from his own little bed in the corner. Sass merely curled in on himself more to shield his eyes from the light. “Oops nothing, you did that on purpose.” Adrien muttered.
“Maybe I did. Maybe I just wanted to see your handsome face.” Luka mused. Adrien propped himself up on his elbows just to give Luka a deadpan stare from the bed. The blonde hadn’t put his hair up the night before and his long waves were quite a mess of tangles atop his head, with some strands crossing his face. In truth, Luka genuinely loved to see Adrien so disheveled— a way no one was allowed to see him back when his life was completely controlled by someone else. It reminded him of how far his husband had come. Even if Adrien was currently only concerned with the blinding light and the fact that he was awake when he’d clearly rather not be. “Well, now that you’ve seen it. Can you turn the light back off?” Adrien dropped his head back into the pillow face first. Luka laughed, but he mercifully turned the bedroom light back off. Then, he quickly got dressed to meet the client. As he was brushing his teeth he heard a knock on the front door. A glance at his phone revealed the time. “It’s only 5:25.” Luka rolled his eyes. As if the planned time wasn’t already early enough. “I’m going to cataclysm them.” Adrien’s voice was still muffled from the pillow. “You are not.” “Well, if he won’t then I will. Who shows up early for something so early. They’re clearly evil.” Plagg whined. “To Cataclysm them you’d have to actually get out of bed.”
“Never mind.” Adrien and Plagg said in unison. Luka smiled as he heard a soft laugh coming from a sleepy Sass. Luckily the business exchange with the client didn’t take very long. They were happy with Luka’s craftsmanship. They paid him and even gave an extra tip for his speedy work on the project. It wasn’t long before the client left and Luka returned to the bedroom. He could hear Adrien’s deep breathing indicating that he had indeed fallen back to sleep. The clothes Luka had quickly put on were comfortable enough that he didn’t bother changing out of them or anything. He just hoped he could actually go back to sleep after the interruption. It wasn’t like Luka kept a strict sleeping schedule, but waking up so early and staying up didn’t seem like the best idea. He got back into bed and the movements caused his husband to stir. Luka again laid on his side and Adrien automatically wrapped his arms around him and cuddled close to his back. It was impossible to tell if Adrien was awake at that point or just moving on instinct. Adrien’s hand had settled on Luka’s chest. The guitarist rubbed the back of it before moving it to his lips. He gave the hand a gentle kiss. In that moment he couldn’t help but be grateful for the life he had. Things could have gone very differently for him, and certainly for Adrien. And yet both of them were here, together, safe and free.
“I love you, my muse.” He said softly. Adrien began to purr again. As it turned out Luka had no need to worry about returning to sleep for the next few hours. He drifted off comfortable and loved in Adrien’s arms.

I Want The World To Know
Lukadrien Fluffuary (using this prompt list) Day 13 - Night Out Prev | Next Read it on Ao3 Words: 1599 Rating T Tags: Relationship Reveal, Kisses, Modified Costumes “Chat Noir is supposed to be there, but it’s a fancy charity event with dancing and live music.” Adrien said to Plagg as he looked through his closet. “The suit I normally wear doesn’t feel like it fits the occasion.” It didn’t help that all of the fancier clothes he had were Gabriel’s designs. Adrien had worn them in photoshoots as a model. It wouldn’t be the safest option as far as his secret identity was concerned. Maybe no one would make the connection, but still the idea made him nervous. Time was running out for him to make a decision. He was supposed to meet Viperion soon. It wouldn’t be their first date as heroes but it was the first time they were going to anything like this together. Well, the other heroes would be there too, so it wasn’t really a date. Paris hadn’t yet been made aware that they were a couple. The two had decided to be secretive while the relationship was still new. Rumors were swirling about them, but they hadn’t confirmed it just yet. “Just imagine your suit as something fancier when you transform.” Plagg suggested. “It’ll happen.” “Really?” Adrien pouted. “You couldn’t have told me this sooner?” “Yes really, now hurry up before you’re late!” Adrien wasn’t a designer, but he’d been around the fashion industry long enough to have an idea of what he liked. With the time crunch he didn’t overthink it.
He transformed and let the magic wash over him. When he looked in the mirror, his mask had intricate green detailing. His hair flowed in a softer style than usual. Loose waves framed his face. Instead of his usual suit, he was wearing a tuxedo. It consisted of black pants and a jacket cut perfectly for him. Underneath was a white dress shirt. From the bottom of the jacket there was a motif of bright green lightening bolts. At first he thought they were sequins, but upon further inspection he realized they were actually glowing softly. He reached up and adjusted the black bowtie that was attached to his signature bell. “Hmmm.” Chat Noir turned around, his tail spinning behind him. He struck a pose, feeling more confident than he ever had in one of his father’s designs. “I never did like boring, plain suits.” ///////////////////////// A few minutes later he found himself vaulting towards the place he and his boyfriend had agreed to meet. The rooftop was across from the Le Grand Paris hotel where the event was being held. It lit up the area well. Chat Noir saw Viperion first. There was a breeze blowing as the snake Miraculous holder stood looking towards the venue. His hair was pulled back into a low ponytail, with shorter strands falling over his forehead. His mask, like Chat Noirs, resembled one for a fancy masquerade party. The suit jacket and pants he wore were teal, and a solid texture. The lapels of his jacket, however, were shinier and looked like snake scales. Under his suit jacket he wore a black dress shirt, but instead of being adored with a tie, the top few buttons were undone. “Wow.” Chat Noir said as he landed beside him. “Someone’s looking pawsitively amazing tonight!” VIperion turned to the voice and looked him up and down. His boyfriend looked as handsome as ever. “Looks like I’m not the only one, my muse.” “You like what you see?” Chat Noir spun around like he had in front of the mirror. Somehow feeling even more confident doing it in front of Viperion. “I always do.” Viperion leaned into him. “Me too, m’love.” Chat Noir ran his hands over the fabric of Viperion’s lapels. Taking in the details of the difference in texture. His eyes drifted upward to get a peek of Luka’s chest that the open shirt provided. Then further up to his lips. “But it’s safe to say we clean up purr-ety nice.” Viperion laughed as he caught where Chat Noir’s gaze had fallen. “We’re going to be late.” The cat hero blushed, realizing he was supposed to be going to a very public event with Viperion, not just having one of their normal dates together. “Oh, right. We better get going.” When Chat Noir turned to make his way to the hotel, Viperion reached out and grabbed his tail to stop him. “Silly cat. I said we’re going to be late.” “I know I—” It sunk in as Chat Noir turned back around with a smirk. “Oh.” They both leaned in. Lips met tenderly. Viperion pulled back to look into Chat’s eyes. “Everyone is going to want to talk to us as soon as we walk in there. I just want a few minutes with just us before we go. If you don’t mind.” Gripping the lapels of Viperion’s jacket, Chat Noir pulled him close again and purred. “Do I look like I mind?” Their lips crashed together again. Both of them wrapping their arms around each other to deepen the contact. That is, until they both got a notification at the same time. The two heroes pulled back breathlessly. Their eyes met and they both took in each other’s blushing love sick state. Neither could hold back their laughter. “The team is wondering where we are I’m sure.” Chat Noir adjusted Viperion’s jacket that had been disheveled by their previous actions. Viperion reached up to straighten Chat Noir’s bowtie and flicked the bell that adorned it. “We should probably get going then, babe.” Chat Noir looked down at his baton. “Everyone else is already inside…” “And?” Viperion asked. “Well, I mean we could go in through different entrances. Or together as ‘friends’…” Then Chat Noir grabbed both of Viperion’s hands in his. “You know, all they have are blurry pictures and rumors about us. What do you say to us clearing some things up?” “Are you ready for that?” “Yeah, I know we both wanted to make sure this was a long term thing first.” Chat Noir said. “We didn’t want to tell the whole city until we were ready.” “I’ve been ready.” Viperion reminded him. “But I understand with your history with tabloids in and out of the mask why you wanted to be sure.” “Well, if we tell them tonight it also brings more attention to the charity.” “That’s great, of course, but I need you to be sure for more reasons than just that.” “I’m sure. I’ve never been more sure.” Chat Noir squeezed both of his boyfriend’s hands for emphasis. Then he gave him a cheeky grin and shifted his tone to something more debonair. “I’m also pawsitive with you looking like that I’m not gonna want to stand by and watch you dance with other people! You look incredible and you're my boyfriend! I want to dance with you myself! If I have to see other people flirt with you all night... well, I'll admit I can be a jealous kitten.” Viperion found he liked that. "You think I wouldn't be jealous of all of them flirting with you?" Chat Noir let go of one of Viperion’s hands and lifted the other just so he could spin around beneath it “I want all of them to see me hold your hand. I want them to know that we're together.” “I’d very much like that.” Viperion pulled Chat Noir close after the twirl. The blonde's back pressed into Viperion's chest as he wrapped his arms around him in a comfortable embrace. “M’love I want the whole world to know how much I love you. No more hiding it. I don’t think I can anymore.” Chat Noir kissed Viperion’s hand he’d still been holding. Viperion closed his eyes hummed a few notes happily unable to keep the melody he was hearing inside. Adrien always made him feel so loved. “But…wait….” Chat Noir opened his baton and started typing. “But?” Viperion's eyes opened suddenly. “But, we’d better make sure the Ladyblogger is the first one to report the scoop.” Viperion relaxed again and agreed wholeheartedly. “We promised we would." A few moments later, the two entered the event hand in hand. People looked their way and chatted excitedly, some gasping, a few whispering “I knew it!” The crowd wasn’t quite prepared, but Rena Rouge, in her modified transformation of a beautiful orange ballgown, was already filming their entrance. She spoke above the murmurs of the crowd. “There have been rumors floating around about you two for a while. Now you’re here hand in hand, looking very happy together. Is their anything you handsome heroes would like to clear up?” Viperion and Chat Noir looked at her and then to each other. Then kissed each other sweetly as everyone watched. “Are things more clear now?” Viperion asked once they parted. He wrapped his arm around Chat Noir’s waist. “Crystal.” Rena Rouge said with a huge smile. “I’ll be sending this to the Ladyblogger right away. She wasn’t able to come tonight since she’s under the weather, but I know she’ll have this up in no time.” Alya never failed to impress the team with her smoothness of balancing being both one of the Ladyblogger’s top “sources” and the blogger herself. The Ladyblog received more traffic that night than it ever had and with a link to the charity on the page, donations exceeded anyone’s expectations. To put it simply, the event was a success. Chat Noir didn't have to worry about sharing his boyfriend with anyone. Now that the whole world knew and they were free to dance the night away together.

Not Quite So Complicated
Read it on Ao3 ////////////////////// Summary: Viperion has noticed Chat Noir flirting with him lately. As Luka he has been getting more compliments from Adrien. It's not that he isn't flattered. The problem is that he's fallen for both of them and really isn't sure what to do about it. After talking with Juleka, he decides to take her advice and have a word with Chat Noir in an attempt to sort out how he feels. Words: 2700 (Complete/Oneshot) Ship: Lukadrien Fluff, Identity Shenanigans, Identity Reveal Not S4 (Wishmaker specifically) compliant. /////////////////////
Luka sat strumming some minor chords on his guitar. Every now and then he’d pick out a few individual notes, but it never turned into a full song. Although, it still portrayed his inner turmoil well. “Are you okay?” Juleka had heard his playing and could tell something was up. “Don’t worry, Jules. I’m fine.” He looked to the neck of his guitar as he played. She fell silent for a moment, but Luka knew she was still there. When he looked up he saw her shooting him a look that said “you don’t seem fine to me.” They were too close for her to not know there was more for him to say. “Okay, you’re obviously not going to let it go.” Luka sighed. “Nope.”
“Fine. There are these two people, who have both been showing more interest in me lately. At least, I think that’s what is happening. It’s been going on for about a month with both of them. One guy, well, I knew was the type to flirt when he had feelings for someone. The other, I didn’t really expect to do that and yet, he keeps saying such nice things and maybe I'm reading into it too much but I think he’s flirting with me too. He’s just more subtle about it.” “So what’s the problem? You’re a great guy. It doesn't surprise me that more than one person is giving you some attention that way.” Juleka commented. He picked out a few notes that expressed his uncertainty. “Actually, that is exactly the problem. Because I think I like both of them. They are both so caring, passionate, handsome, kind, talented… they actually have a lot in common.” Juleka hummed at that. “So, your heart’s giving you a hard time then.” “Oh absolutely.” He strummed a minor chord again. “How did you know Rose was the one for you?” She smiled and tucked her hair behind her ear. It made Luka incredibly happy to see how the just the mention of Rose could cause his sister’s face to light up. “Well, we were friends first. Then we started hanging out more and… she told me one day that that she liked girls and that she liked me. She was nervous to tell me, but once she said that, it didn't take long for me to realize I liked her back in the same way. It just sorta happened. My best friend became my girlfriend and now I couldn’t imagine it any other way.” As Juleka spoke, Luka couldn’t help but pick out notes that sounded less like his inner turmoil and more like a love song. “That’s beautiful, Jules.” “I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Maybe you should talk to one of them about it.” Juleka suggested. Then her phone chimed. “Speaking of Rose, I’m going to go meet her. Good luck!” She went to meetup with her girlfriend and Luka was left with his guitar and his thoughts. Rose and Juleka had been friends before they were a couple. But that fact didn’t help him choose between the two guys who he thought were flirting with him. They were both good friends of his. Chat Noir as a hero and Adrien Agreste as a bandmate and civilian. With Adrien, the flirting was more low key. Luka noticed that he'd been giving him more compliments lately. At their last practice, Adrien had sweetly commented on how beautiful Luka’s passion for music was. It was as if Adrien had pressed play on a song within Luka’s mind and cranked it to full volume. Then there was Chat Noir, who after their last akuma battle together, gently grabbed Viperion’s hand. The hero brought it up to his lips and kissed the back of it. “You were pawsitively stunning out there tonight.” He said and had the audacity to wink along with it. The gesture had made Viperion blush and he couldn’t help but feel that Chat Noir was quite pleased with that. Yet again, the song inside him rose to a crescendo. Luka stopped playing the guitar and pinched the bridge of his nose. He could honestly see himself with either one of them. If he could decide between them, he’d likely do some confessing of his own, but he didn’t want to pursue both of them. Whoever he gave his heart to, he wanted to give them all of it. There was one thing he didn’t understand about the situation as a whole. His mind always attached melodies to people, to circumstances, to his thoughts… So why was it when Adrien gave his compliments and Chat Noir boldly flirted with him, he was hearing the exact same tune? ///////////////////////////// A few days later, Luka, or rather Viperion, took his sister’s advice. Chat Noir was the bolder of the two boys, so Viperion felt it made more sense to be bold with him. Luckily, he was now a permanent holder of the Snake Miraculous, so when he saw Chat Noir running across the rooftops he transformed and caught up with him. “Chat Noir!” Viperion called out. The hero turned around in surprise, but then smiled widely upon realizing who had joined him. “Hey, there handsome.” Chat Noir said with no hesitation. “That means a lot coming from someone who looks as good as you do.” Viperion nearly slapped his own hand over his mouth. He could feel the heat in his cheeks as he blushed. Luka hadn’t expected to flirt back like that. Especially with his heart torn between two different people. But his embarrassment quickly faded when he saw Chat Noir’s cheeks blush furiously as well, beneath his mask. Oh? So the cat could dish it but was flustered when he had to take it? Viperion found it endearing. If he did pursue Chat Noir over Adrien, he’d be sure to try to coax that look out of him more often. Chat Noir laughed and rubbed the back of his neck in a gesture that was incredibly familiar, but Viperion couldn’t put a finger on why. “Guess I’m not the only flirt on the team then am I?” “Guess not.” Viperion said. Then he remembered what he wanted to talk to Chat Noir about. Was this a bad idea? Chat seemed like an understanding guy. Heck, he might even have advice. Luka had thought he knew what he wanted to say but now he wasn’t so sure he should be so outright with it all. “So…” Chat Noir recognized Viperion’s hesitation. “I know there’s not an akuma right now and you aren’t scheduled for patrol. Is there something on your mind?" You. Viperion thought. But instead said, “Maybe I’m just being an idiot. I wanted to talk to you about something but now I’m not so sure.” Chat Noir took out his baton and leaned on it. “If you’re not ready to talk about whatever it is that’s okay, but now that you have mentioned wanting to talk to me about something I can’t stand here and pretend I’m not wondering what the ‘something’ is.” Viperion couldn’t help but laugh softly at that. Of course. He’d feel the same way if the roles were reversed. “Well, it’s just that there’s you and…” Viperion took a deep breath. “There’s you and there’s this other guy and if I’m being honest I really like both of you. You’re both kind, funny, brave, and good looking too." He noted, with satisfaction, that the blush crept back into Chat Noir’s cheeks. “And I don’t know what to do with how I’m feeling. Because it seems like both of you… wow this sounds like I’m full of myself or something… but lately I feel like you’ve both been more um... complimentary—” “Complimentary?” Chat Noir scoffed. “I’m flirting with you because I. like. you. I hope that is blatantly obvious. I have feelings for you and I’m not very good at keeping them inside, so I figure why bother trying? Even if you don’t return them, even if this other guy is the one that makes you happy. In the end, that's what I want most, for you to be happy. But I’m not ashamed to let you know how I feel. If you want me to lay off I will, of course, but don’t second guess that I’m attracted to you because I absolutely am. You are amazing.” Viperion felt like his heart might beat out of his chest. Of course, Chat Noir hadn’t been subtle in the slightest with his flirting but he’d really just destroyed any other interpretation Luka could have possibly had for his behavior over the past month. That melody he'd been hearing filled Luka’s mind again and he huffed. Chat Noir wasn’t privy to what the huff was for. “Oh. Sorry? Did I come on to strong I’ll just…” “No! No. I appreciate the honesty and I’m flattered!" Viperion quickly explained. “It’s just that, well, I tend to hear music when I’m interacting with people. Usually it’s a reflection of their personality or our connection as friends or something like that… but with you and the other guy I hear the same melody. Maybe it’s because I really like you both, but it’s never happened before and it’s kind of frustrating and I’m not sure what it all means. I just want to be honest with how I’m feeling, but I feel like I’ve fallen for both of you and you’re both making me feel the same thing and hear the same tune. I’m just confused." Cat eyes blinked at him for a moment as Chat Noir processed what Viperion had just said. “Um? Chat?” Chat Noir closed his eyes tightly and put away his baton. “Let me guess. This other guy, you feel like he’s been flirting with you too? Maybe… civilian you?” “Yes, he’s been complimenting me more and we’ve been spending more time together and getting to know each other better lately. A lot like you and I have.” The dramatic frown on Chat Noir’s face only added to Viperion’s confusion. “I’m such an idiot.” Chat Noir groaned.
“Huh?” Chat laughed at his own expense. “I didn’t mean to confuse you, Luka.” “What do you mean you—“ Viperion’s eyes widened as his civilian name registered. “Oh, I guess Ladybug told you my secret identity?" “Not quite.” Chat Noir gave him a sly grin. “Guess again.” “But I’ve been careful! No one knows but me, Ladybug and…” The realization started to sink in. “And… purrhaps the guy who knew that you would make an incredible Miraculous holder, because you are caring, kind, talented, smart, and brave? The guy who fell for you and started flirting as his hero self but couldn’t help but do it as a civilian too? Because he is really bad at keeping his feelings inside? Yeah… that guy. He might have overcomplicated things. Sorry about that.” Viperion brushed his hair back from his forehead as he processed what was happening. His hair fell back down as he whispered, “Adrien.” “It’s me, Luka.” Chat Noir threw his head back with a sigh. “I can’t believe I became my own competition!” “It was a tough match.” Viperion said, his mind still reeling. “I think you both won my heart.” Chat gave him a shy look, “Well, since the two guys are the same guy after all, what do you say to going on a date with both of us?" Viperion laughed it was so simple once he knew the truth. “I’d love that. And it's no wonder I was hearing the same song. It’s all you.” Now that Luka knew that the two guys he fell for were one and the same, and that Chat Noir was actually a flirt who was easily flustered, he was going to take advantage of it. “You’re melody is incredible. It’s layered and nuanced, but at it’s core it’s fun and a little rebellious.” Viperion took a step closer and reached for Chat Noir’s hand. He leaned forward, pulled it up to his lips and kissed the back of it.  “You inspire me, my muse.” He said gazing up at Chat Noir through his lashes. “You’re using my own moves against me.” Chat Noir said softly, his voice taking on a low tone that did unfair things to Luka’s heart. “Your moves are the classics.” Viperion leaned in closer. “But I’m not opposed to new moves.” “You don’t just want kisses on the back of your hand?” Chat Noir’s eyes darted to Viperion’s lips and back up again, but his voice kept the same sincere tone. “You should tell me if we’re going too fast.” “Should I tell you I want to kiss you instead of worrying about that?”
Viperion barely got the words out before Chat Noir tilted his head and pressed their lips together enthusiastically. Viperion smiled into the kiss at first before returning it. With Adrien’s lips against his, it felt as though all was right with the world. The contact made everything feel more real. Warmth and comfort spread through him. Then he heard an unexpected sound, a rumble he couldn’t quite place. Chat Noir pulled back suddenly. Viperion opened his eyes and looked to the blonde with a puzzled expression. “Sorry, sorry! I’m so sorry! That was awkward. It just kind of... happens sometimes. Sometimes when I’m really happy and especially if there’s like cuddling involved and the sound just comes out and I really can’t control it.” His cat ears drooped on his head. “It’s okay! What are you…” Viperion took in the cat ears. He saw the nervous twitching of Chat Noir’s tail as he spoke and it clicked. “Were you purring?” “Who me?” Chat Noir squeaked and pointed to his chest, but just as quickly slumped and closed his eyes. No point in denying it. After a moment he opened one eye to cautiously peak back at Viperion. “That’s not a deal breaker is it?” The distance between them was closed as Viperion stepped forward. “So, you’re telling me it happens sometimes when you feel safe and happy and comfortable… it happens when you feel loved?” “Yeah…I guess.” “I’m glad I can make you feel that way. It’s absolutely not a deal breaker.” Viperion confessed then he tapped his chin. “In fact, I think it’s cute. Now, I don’t know what that says about me…” Chat Noir laughed at that. Relief washed over him. “I think it just means you’re the one for me.” He looked behind Viperion at the sun that was beginning to set. “We’ll get a great view of the sunset from here. Want to watch it?” “Is this our first date? Viperion lifted an eyebrow. “I think it is.” Chat Noir gave him a wide smile. He sat down on the edge of the rooftop and Viperion joined him. Chat was still feeling a little awkward about a few moments before and kept space between them, but his new boyfriend was having none of it and closed the distance himself by wrapping an arm around him. The blonde did lean into him but remained tense. “You don’t have to be anything but yourself around me. Neither of us are ‘normal’ in the grand scheme of things and I wouldn’t want it any other way.” He gently rubbed his hand up and down Chat Noir’s arm. “A couple of weirdos.” Chat said good-naturedly as he allowed himself to relax. “Life’s boring any other way.” “It really is.” He cuddled closer and sighed contentedly. Luka could hear the soft purr rumble. Without Adrien cutting it off he realized it was a very comforting sound. Therapeutic in its own way, like listening to waves on a shoreline. “You are adorable.” “I’m literally the welder of the Miraculous of Destruction.” Adrien said which interrupted the purring. But his relaxed tone did nothing to make him sound dangerous and he knew it. “Well, you are a symphony made up of a lot of things.” Viperion chuckled as he heard the purring start up again. “One of them is being a powerful superhero who can destroy anything he touches, another one of those things just happens to be being adorable.”

Home
Adrien knows what it’s like to live somewhere out of a magazine. The mansion had it’s sleek decor with hard edges. It was cold and uninviting. Barely any color adorned the fortress. An idealized look, he supposed. Fashionable or something. It was meant to impress a certain group of people. He wasn’t one of them. For all of the expensive items in the house, there were important things missing. The building had no warmth. No comfort. No love. He was supposed to call the place home, but to Adrien it had more in common with a prison. Luka and Adrien’s place now is quite the opposite. When you enter there is a pleasant smell from a burning candle. The mismatched furniture, with blankets and pillows of various hues scattered across them is inviting. Rooms are warmly lit with unique lamps and fixtures. A string of lights draws the eye to a houseplant in the corner, where a vine trails down the bookcase. Music drifts through the air from an old record player as flames flicker beneath a mantle adorned with photos of the couple and their loved ones. Despite the winter weather, the house is cozy. A guitar lays across one end of the couch. On the other, a keyboard on a stand is scooted close where the pianist can sit on the soft cushion. These instruments are well loved and played often. The space is unkempt in a way that lets everyone who enters know that it is enjoyed by the inhabitants, but it isn’t dirty. The sound of laughter rings out from the other side of the open living space, where the couple shares a meal and enjoys each other’s company. It’s much smaller than the old mansion, but the most important things are abundant. The things that Adrien always wanted. A home full of warmth. Brimming with comfort. Overflowing with love. Adrien looks around their space. He adores it. Then his gaze shifts back to his husband, who’s eyes are still shining from the laughter earlier. He adores Luka more. Adrien smiles softly and leans forward and they share a soft kiss. Luka’s hand caresses his cheek gently. The blonde doesn’t take his life now or this place for granted. but what truly makes this house a home is being here with his love.
