Memories of The Past: "An Unexpected Meeting" (3/3)

"O... Octavia...?" Atarime was in shock, it couldn't be... after so many years without seeing her... Octavia is here! In front of her! What should she do!?

"Atarime!" Octavia said "Oh cod! It's been so long! I spent hours looking for you! But I finally found you! I missed you so mu-!"

*SLAP!*

Without warning, Atarime hit Octavia in the face, this made Octavia fall to the floor, Atarime quickly took out her bamboozler from one of the boxes that were near her and pointed it at Octavia.

"Ow... Okay... I guess I deserved that..." Octavia said while

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" Atarime said angrily "HOW DARE YOU COME TO MY HOUSE AFTER WHAT HAPPENED IN THE WAR!? DID YOU... DID YOU COME TO KILL ME!? IS THAT, ISN'T!?"

"Kill you-!? No no no no! I swear no! I just want to talk to you! I swear! b-but could you put the weapon down please!?" Octavia said putting her hands up

Atarime wasn't very convinced at first, maybe it was a trap... but seeing that she didn't even have a weapon with her, she lowered her bamboozler

"I don't want to talk to you." Atarime said angrily "I don't want to see you again. Besides, how do I know this isn't a trap to kill me? This isn't the first time you've tried it. I want you to get out of my house right now before I change my mind."

"No no! Atarime please listen to me!" Octavia exclaimed as she stood up "I didn't come to hurt you or capture you! I-I want to talk to you about what happened 4 years ago... and... I want to fix everything!"

Fix everything...?

Atarime couldn't believe what Octavia had just said, "Fix everything"?, she thought she was joking, after 4 years of the war... of separating... and not seeing each other for more than 4 years... now she just comes back to apologize and try to fix what happened!? Was this some kind of joke!? What was happening to Octavia!?

"I want to come back with you! I made a lot of mistakes in the past and I was a complete idiot to you... but I want to fix it! Please give me another chance! We can be happy again! I promise! I still love you-!"

"ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" Atarime said angrily "After 4 years, you come here as if nothing had happened to apologize and ask me to give you another chance!? No! you and your family hurt me a lot in all the time I lived in the castle! and you never did nothing about it! you never supported me! I won't make that mistake again! Now get out of my house!"

"Atarime please! I swear I've changed! I came here for you! Please let's talk about this! Let me explai-!" Octavia said

"No! Get out and never come back! Now!"

"Atarime please-!"

"I SAID GET OU-"

"M-mom...?"

Atarime and Octavia stopped fighting when they heard a voice, it was Aurora, she looked confused and scared by the screams she had heard, she didn't know what was happening.

"A-aurora! I'm sorry! I forgot you were in the living room!" Atarime said

"What?" Octavia said confused, who was that child? and why did she call Atarime "Mom"?

"W-what's going on? And w-who is she? Why are you fighting?" Aurora asked confused

"U-um...! S-she's just a friend! Don't worry! We're not fighting! She was... she was about to leave!" Atarime said nervously "G-go play with your toys in your room, okay?"

"Okay...?" Aurora, not very convinced, decided to go to her room, she didn't understand what was happening

"*Sigh*... that was close..." Atarime said in relief

"Atarime...? Who was that child? Why did she call you... Mom?" Octavia asked "Wait... Is... is she-!?"

"She's... She's our daughter." Atarime said

"D-DAUGHTER!? W-W-WHAT!? W-WE HAD A...!? A DAUGHTER!?" Octavia was very surprised, she couldn't believe it "Why... Why didn't you tell me anything 4 years ago-!?" Octavia said

"I was going to tell you the day I left. Until I found out everything about the war... but that doesn't matter! You didn't deserve to know. So I left without telling you anything. After all, you just cared about that stupid war and win the Inkling territories." Atarime said upset

"A-Atarime... no, that... that's not true-"

"Don't lie to me. I've had enough of this." Atarime said walking away "Just leave and don't come back. I don't want to go back to you, In case you forgot, We are divorced, so I don't have to go back to the kingdom with you."

"You know it's not true." Octavia replied "We only got separated because of the war. We never signed a divorce agreement."

"Atarime please listen... I... I don't want you to return to the kingdom. And I don't want to return either." Octavia said "In fact, I'm no longer the queen. I gave up everything."

"Wait what? When did you...?" Atarime asked confused "Wait then you're not... you're not the queen anymore? but, but why-...?"

"Being queen and my job... all that... It's not... it's not important anymore... it only brought me pain... I didn't want to continue being there suffering... I couldn't live with the guilt I felt... I missed you... so I left everything... just to come find you." Octavia explained

"..." Atarime remained silent listening to Octavia, could it be possible that Octavia... really felt sorry for everything she did...?

"Listen... I know I can't undo everything I did in the castle and in the war... and I know that you don't trust me and you maybe hate me..." Octavia continued "But... I ask you give me a chance so we can make a better future for both of us... we can be a happy family, you, me and our daughter, I only ask for a chance... please..."

Atarime thought about it a little, could she really trust her...? After all these years...? She sounded very sorry and seemed like she really wanted to come back with her and fix everything, but... Atarime wasn't supposed to love Octavia anymore... or maybe that's what she thought... Maybe... Maybe deep down she wanted to be with Octavia again...? Was it really possible to create a better future after everything that had happened...?

"I'm going to regret this..." Atarime thought, and finally spoke again

"*Sigh*... You.... You can stay...."

"Re... Really!?" Octavia said happy "oh thank you thank you thank you! I'm so happy! I promise I won't cause any problems! Now, where should i-?"

"Outside."

"Huh-?"

"You will sleep outside." Atarime said angrily "I don't want you near me. I don't trust you."

"*Sigh*... Alright..." Octavia didn't want to continue with the fight so she simply agreed to sleep outside as Atarime told her.

Could Octavia really fix the problems of the past and earn Atarime's trust again? It would take time, a lot of time, but she was determined to win Atarime's love again.

This would be a new beginning for both of them.

Hey I saw your agent OCs and I wanted to learn more about them

Not sure what infos to drop so I’ll attempt some TLDRs on them. They’re agent ocs so shit about their backgrounds can change at anytime cuz of Nintendo writing 😭

Captain 3 (Anri)- Currently 21, cis male, he/him, bisexual. Joined the NSS after running away in the city to escape his abusive father. Craig Cuttlefish is like a father figure to him, and he looks up to Cuttlefish a lot. He gets lost in the metro for almost a year around when he was 16 which led to the loss of vision in one eye, some nerve damage, and the loss of his apartment, pets, and possessions due to his place getting sold while he was missing. This trauma led him to be a hermit for another year or so, only managing to cope with the help of Marie. Marie being so nice to him lead to sparks and at the age of 20, along with receiving a promotion to Cap’n status, he and Marie started to date. Currently he’s stationed as the leader of the NSS, he isn’t nearly as active in combat as he used to be due to his disabilities but is still quite powerful.

Agent 8 (Hachi)- Currently 19, cis female, she/her, lesbian. She was orphaned at a young age and has been part of the octarian army for practically her whole life. Unlike most of her peers Hachi had an intense fascination with literature and often fished books to read out of the trash, unfortunately this hobby of hers caused her to be subject to bullying— which she didn’t make any better with her somewhat annoying insistence to make others read what poems she’d make herself. Upon hearing the Squid Sisters song, she was inspired to run away from the army— believing the world of inklings were a lot more enriched with the arts than what the octos had to offer her. During her escape, she bumps into Craig and Anri— Anri and her scrap, and boom everyone’s lost. She managed to get everyone out of the metro and save the world from mass destruction, and has joined the NSS ever since. She thinks she’s not nearly given enough thanks for the whole “saving the world” bit. Through her journey in the metro she’s become a huge pop fan as well, she stans Squid Sisters and Off The Hook. Currently she lives in an apartment with Ivy, she works as a (I don’t know yet) and writes shitty romance novels on the side, with Ivy as her editor.

Agent 4 1/2 (Ivy)- currently 20, cis female, she/her, pansexual. She and her brother, Ivan, were raised in a rural village and came to the city at 15 to pursue their interests in the arts. Little did they know following the sad looking pretty lady down a manhole would lead to them becoming soldiers! Along with NSS shenanigans, Ivy would write for a webcomic she and her brother Ivan collaborated on. In recent times the webcomic has been put on hiatus due to Ivan going to college— so nowadays Ivy just couch surfs, living with her situationship friend Hachi. She has an excellent sense of vocabulary and grammar despite her appearance of being a sloth, but she doesn’t do much with her skills besides help others with their projects.

Agent 4 2/2 (Ivan)- Currently 20, trans male, he/him, pansexual. He and his sister were raised in a rural village, blah blah blah already read about it in Ivy’s. He’s always been an avid artist, drawing for a webcomic co-authored by Ivy, and as of currently the NSS is funding his college and dorm at an art school. He also scored a boyfriend named Atarime who was an ex soldier who was lost in the metro like Hachi. Currently Ivan’s just chilling as a student.

Agent 3 (Sai)- Currently 14, cis female, she/her. Ran from home and accidentally found herself in space fighting a giant bear, happens to the best of us. She’s a little shit to put it politely, chaos is always her goal. She hates authority figures of all sorts, making it a point to disobey Cap’n 3 and Agent 2 (she’s chill with Callie/Agent 1) and she is constantly vandalizing or breaking something. She also has a love of salmons, being the protector of 4 stranded lil guys she named Pipebomb, C4, Molotov Cocktail, and Greg.

(Now that i posted the next part of Side Order story, here's a small explanation of what happened to Atarime when she arrived to the Castle of Order:

(Oh also, i forgot to post Atarime's drawing i made for the story, this is the versión without the text heheh)

(4 months ago, Atarime went on a trip to Octo valley, she only planned to stay 1 week to investigate, but something happened that made her end up in the order world of Octo valley, when she arrived at the Castle of Order, she decided to enter but this was a terrible mistake, once inside, Order realized the presence of an intruder and closed all the exits, this in order to trap Atarime, the interior of the castle became a huge labyrinth without exit from which Atarime never managed to escape)

(As the weeks passed, Atarime slowly began to lose her sanity, accepting that no one would come to help her, she started to left messages on the wall and in the elevator just in case someone after her arrived to that place and didn't know what to do, the weeks passed and after 2 months being there, her food and water supplies ran out, making her weaker every day, so one day, the Jelletons defeated her on the 20th floor, leaving her wounded and on the verge of death)

(Order took this opportunity to begin manipulating her mind, making her believe that her friends would never come to save her and that she no longer had anyone, all those she loved had only betrayed her, including all her friends, Xena, Pearl and reminding her that it was Tartar's fault that Octavia died, Order offered her the deal to work for him so together they could defeat Tartar and take complete control of the entire world)

(Full of hate and anger for all those betrayals, Atarime accepted Order's deal, with that, Order give her new powers, making her very powerful and ready to take back what she lost)

"Guess who...?" (1/2)

After facing numerous challenges on the castle floors, learning how to use the chips and how they worked, Mayra and Octavia managed to reach the last floor of the castle, the 10th floor.

It had been a long road, but they were finally there, even though for the moment, everything was fine, Mayra kept feeling a bad feeling about the 10th floor, was there a way to recover Eight's memories? maybe on the next floor they would have the answers

"Okay... Here we are Eight, the 10th floor, are you prepared for whatever is there?" Mayra said

Octavia nodded her head, she felt a little nervous, but she was determined to go in with Mayra, they were at the end, they couldn't give up now, and maybe... just maybe... she would find information about her past...

"Alright." Mayra said determined "then I will open the door"

[Entering... Control Room 1]

As soon as the doors opened, they both noticed that the room was full of black ink, at the back of the huge room, someone could be seen in the distance, looking at a huge window with constellations of stars, they didn't seem to realize that someone was there.

"Hey... I can see someone in the distance!" Mayra said "I still have a bad feeling... should we get closer? Maybe they can help us escape from here!"

While they were going down, Mayra began to notice something strange about that person, once Octavia arrived to the floor, she slowly began to approach the person. Mayra stopped for a moment and realized who she was

"Wait a minute...! Is that!?" Mayra said, she tried to stop Octavia from getting closer but it was too late, the person had already realized that the presence of Octavia and Mayra

"Octavia...? Is that you...?" the person turned around to see Octavia

"I-is it... really you? oh cod! you are alive! its been so long since the last time I saw you! come here!"

Octavia, very terrified, stepped back a little when she saw who was talking to her

"Octavia? what's wrong? Why are you staying away from me? Are you afraid of me or something? Is this how you're going to greet your dear girlfriend after so many years without seeing each other? Come on! It's me! Come and give me a hug!"

"ATARIME!?" Mayra said as she went to where Octavia was "Oh my god! What happened to you!? You're covered in black ink! We've been looking for you for weeks! Are you okay!?"

"Good? Of course I'm good! Better than ever!" Atarime said happily "Why do you ask?"

"What? Um... listen... you don't... um..." Mayra said a little scared "it doesn't matter! we're coming to rescue you! come with us and we'll find a way to escape from this place!"

"E... Escape...? Oh, no... of course not! I don't want to leave here! Why would I want to leave here? This is my home now! It's a wonderful place! When I finish fixing it up completely, everything will be perfect! just like it used to be before!" Atarime exclaimed "And you can stay here with me!!! we can all be happy here!!! hahahaha!!!"

"Staying here!? Atarime, are you crazy!? This place is very dangerous! We can't stay here and neither can you-!"

Atarime changed her happy expression to a very upset one, she quickly launched a sudden attack towards Mayra using black ink, this caused Mayra to crash into the floor and her screen to crack a little

"You know, I don't like being contradicted. I wasn't asking you if they wanted to stay. You. two. are. going. to. stay. here." Atarime said annoyed "Now, where was I? oh yes! Octavia! you haven't said anything since you arrived! you look so different since the last time I saw you! and so confused! is everything okay, darling? you know you can tell me tell everything, right?"

"U-um..." Octavia didn't know what to say, she was very scared and she was afraid that whatever she was going to say would make her angry and that she would attack her like she did with Mayra, Atarime was too powerful to try to attack her. Oh cod, what should I do? run away? attack?

"I-i'm... s-sorry... i... i don't... know who... y-you ar-"

Atarime interrupted her, slowly approaching Octavia "Octavia... you now who am I right? Its me! Atarime! your girlfriend! and you are Octavia Takowasa! Do you have amnesia agai-? Wait a minute... That device...! She... Tartar...! She did that to you right!? She made you forget about me!?" Atarime said angry

"Now. Now. That's not a problem that can't be solved. I'll just take it away from you and then you can get your memories back! And then we can be together forever!" Atarime said "Now! come here!"

"EIGHT NO! R-RUN...!" Mayra screamed trying to get up "DON'T TRUST HER...! RUN!"

"DIDNT YOU LISTENED TO ME!? SHUT UP!" Atarime screamed angry, she angrily launched another attack on Mayra, but this time, Octavia stood in the way, the attack was so strong that it made Octavia fall to the floor, the device she had in her right eye was damaged a little and her prosthesis arm also received a lot of damage

"E...EIGHT!" Mayra got up and flew towards Octavia "EIGHT! ARE YOU OKAY!? G-GET UP! WE HAVE TO GO!"

"OCTAVIA! IM TALKING TO YOU!" Atarime screamed "SO!? WHAT IT WILL BE!? CHOOSE. YOU CAN JOIN ME. OR. ARE YOU GOING TO TRY TO ESCAPE FROM THIS PLACE!?"

Octavia was silent for a moment but she stood up again angrily and responded to Atarime.

"No. This... this is not right. you... you hurt my friend M... Mayra! I can't... I can't let you get away with this!" Octavia took the Octobrush from her ready to fight, Mayra also prepared to fight when she saw that they couldn't escape.

"..." Atarime looked at her, annoyed by her response "So... That's how it's going to be huh? You must be so confused... but I know that with time... you'll know that you're making a mistake, darling... I tried to be nice to you. but I see that you leave me no choice."

"SPARKLES! COME HERE!"

Behind Atarime, a huge hugefry came out of a huge puddle of black ink, it was Sparkles, who, like Atarime, had been corrupted by the black ink, now, she was much larger and more aggressive, as soon as she saw Octavia and Mayra, she got angry immediately

"Listen to me, Octavia. You didn't want to stay here and let me help you. Then we'll do it to the hard way. And once I defeat you... you will join me and finally... we will be happy together... like in the old days!" Atarime screamed "And no one... NO ONE! will separate us again!"

Memories of the past: "A New Life" (2/3)

[Inkopolis, 2:30 PM]

"It's been 4 years since that day..."

Meanwhile, in Inkopolis, Atarime was moving some boxes, She had moved to her new house near to Inkopolis plaza 2 days ago, but she was still busy with some things

She still had to take some things out of the moving boxes, she was moving 2 boxes when a photo album fell out of one of them, upon seeing it, Atarime saw a photo from 4 years ago, it was the only photo of the Squidbeak Splatoon during the war

This made her remember many things about the war... but also that day... the day she fled from the castle and left Octavia... that night they had had a horrible fight over the issue of the war... after that fight, she decided to leave the castle that same night when she saw that the war was inevitable... leaving her wife and betraying her people... and without saying anything to Octavia about...

"Mom mom! Look at the drawing I made!"

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a voice calling her, it was her little daughter, Aurora, she was 4 years old, she wanted to show Atarime the drawing she had made

"Wow! it's amazing! Good job Aurora! oooh? did you draw your aunts?"

"Yeah!!! I want Aunt Pearl and Aunt Xena to see it!!! When will they be here mom?" Aurora asked excitedly

"Hmm... They'll be here in a few minutes! Meanwhile... Go play with your toys, okay?" Atarime said

"Okay!!!" Aurora went to the living room to play, while Atarime continued taking things out of the boxes

Atarime picked up the photo album and put it on the kitchen table, that album only made her remember everything that happened while she was still living in the castle and in the war, so she decided that she was going to hide it later, She didn't want to see it again, she didn't want to think about the past and... Octavia anymore, and she didn't want Aurora to find it, she didn't want Aurora to know anything about her past or Octavia, she wanted to keep it a secret

She wanted to continue with her new life and forget about the past and Octavia

*Knock knock!*

"HELLOOO? WE ARE HEREEEE!"

"Oh! Looks like they're already here!" Atarime opened the door, it was Xena and Pearl, they brought some things and some gifts for Aurora

"Heeeey! Atarime! we're here to celebrate!!!" Pearl entered the house with several bags

"AUNT PEARL!!! AUNT XENA!!!" Aurora said happy

"Aaah! here's my niece!" Pearl said hugging Aurora "Oooh? what's this? Did you make this drawing?"

"Yeah! it's for you and Aunt Xena!" Aurora said

"Heheh! Look at that! it's awesome!" Pearl exclaimed as she looked at the drawing

"Aww thanks Aurora!" Xena said entering the house also with some things "Hi Atarime! How is the moving going?" Xena asked as she put the bags on the table and helped Atarime with the moving boxes

"Pretty good! I'm almost done unpacking some things! How are you doing in the lab?" Atarime said

"It's been good! I've been helping Pearl a lot at Grizzco industries! I have to help her organize the schedules heh... although it's not easy at all..." Xena said

"Hey! Speaking of Grizzco industries, we should take Aurora there so she can learn how to kill salmonids!" Pearl said

"Are you crazy Pearl!? She's only 4 years old! And that's also very dangerous! She's not ready for that!" Xena said as she put some things on the table

"Awww! Okay okay! Maybe when she is 14 years old?" Pearl said

"*Sigh....* Pearl.... if she wants to work at grizzco, I guess it's-.... Huh?" Xena saw the photo album on the kitchen table "Hey Atarime? Is that a... Album?"

"Well... yeah... um... but it only contains old photos... of... you know... the war and of... her" Atarime said

"I see..." Xena said "Hey... have you... heard anything from... her...?"

"Who? Oh... are you talking about Octavia!? She's a damn traitor! I hope she's dead! She was the cause of the war! We lost so many people because of her! She just betrayed us all and tried to kill you Atarime! Don't you remember!?" Pearl said very angry while she entered to the kitchen

"Pearl! Calm down! CALM DOWN!" Xena said "I know you're upset about what happened in the war and with Octavia but you have to calm down! the war ended a long time ago!"

After Xena said that, Pearl, not very convinced, calmed down and spoke again

"Tch. Fine." Pearl said, she, like Atarime, had been through a lot in the war, and Xena knew it

"I'm so sorry Atarime. I know you don't like to talk about the war and Octavia... not after what happened in the war and in the castle..." Xena said very sadly

"It's... It's okay" Atarime said "It was hard to accept it at first but... over time I got over it, now I have a new life, I don't care anymore if she's not here, I want start over and live a peaceful life"

"I'm glad to hear that, Atarime" Xena exclaimed

"But hey! Enough of the memories of the past! This is a welcome party! Let's have fun!" Pearl said "We already brought everything so let's celebrate!"

"Alright! Hey speaking of the party, Pearl, did you bring the food I told you about?" Xena asked

"Uh... Food?" Pearl said confused

"Yeah! the food I left in the kitchen! the cake and the food I prepared!" Xena said

"Oooooh... that food... i uuuh... I forgot it..." Pearl said

"*Sigh*.... I figured so.... we'll have to go back for the food then.... Sorry Atarime...." Xena said as she headed to the door with Pearl "We'll be back in a few minutes!"

"*Sigh...*" Atarime was left thinking, had she really completely forgotten Octavia...? No, she shouldn't be thinking about that anymore, that was already in the past, now she had a new life with her friends and her daughter, away from Octo Valley and Octavia, she didn't need Octavia

*Knock knock!*

"Huh?" Atarime's thoughts were interrupted when she heard someone knock on the door, she was confused, who could it be? "I'm coming!"

"Who is it?" Atarime thought "Xena and Pearl came back so quickly? No... that would be impossible, they just left, and how-?"

"Atarime! It's been a long time, hasn't it?
