“I did to get into town! You just didn’t see me!” That is a lie. Giovanni knows full well why he vomited in the middle of a happy conversation.

While Guy can detect dishonesty in Giovanni, he stops questioning him. He can’t think of any reason why Giovanni would lie. At least… a reason that won’t send him into a flying rage. And given Giovanni’s Greed, that particular reason doesn’t seem likely. Who knows? All he does know is that pressing for an answer will probably sicken Gio further, and right now, he needs to care for him. “Very well. Sit outside, I’ll get you water. Keep your head between your legs and take deep breaths.”

Giovanni shudders. The expression on Guy’s face tells the other man he’s not letting this moment go. He now has to think of how to address this moment while Guy is buying the water… and this thought is being worn on his sleeve unconsciously. As Giovanni steps out, Guy keeps an eye on him as he goes to the nearby cashier counter to get water…

..and comes out later than expected. Giovanni’s head was down when Guy surprised him with not just a bottle of water, but a handkerchief and some doughnuts. “Here.”

“Wh-!! ….. I’m not hungry.”

“You shouldn’t eat in a couple hours after vomiting anyway. It’s for later while we get back to La Demonia. At least have some water. But sip a bit here and there first. Not all at once or it might upset you again.”

Giovanni stares. Right. Phoebus’ brother. The neeeeeeeeeerd. He is so accustomed to being healed right away after even a little booboo that Giovanni has forgotten about basic first aid and what it entails. He takes the water and sips a little at a time. “Thank you… how soon do you want to go back?”

Guy looks at the time. “Well… since we’re in town, we may as well do a bit of shopping to get back, unless you are in no condition to carry the load.

“Oh, I can carry the load just fine. I’m already feeling better. What will we be shopping for?”

“Your wedding and your baby.”

Gio looks sick again. “Ulp…!!”

“Or not! Come on, Giovanni! Something is bothering you and I can tell! This isn’t seawater sickness! You’re nervous!”

“Anyone can be nervous for their upcoming wedding!”

Okay, I'm a Filipino and I just have to get this out of my system. Might make some art about it in the future.

FIRST OF ALL THE FRIGGING LANGUAGE.

For those of you who don't know, the Philippines was colonized by Spain for 300+ years before the Americans and the Japanese got to us so until now, we have some Spanish words in our language.

So imagine taking Miguel home to meet your family and Miguel being a bit nervous he won't understand when you start speaking in Filipino (plus yannow, first impressions) then the first thing your relatives say when you introduce him:

Uy, ang guwapo naman ng jowa mo.

And suddenly, he's a bit comforted because he understood only one word in that sentence and he knows he has a good impression already.

Also cursing in Filipino when he's around!!! Istg cursing in Filipino hits harder than any "fuck you" you can throw around. If you and Miguel get into an argument and you let out a malutong na "tangina naman, oh" , he knows how serious shit is.

Also, I highkey believe that Miguel loves it (dare I say gets turned on) when he catches you speaking to yourself in Filipino and just being in your element when you're concentrating on something.
