Also this one, cannot wait this one to release on HD.... noticed is "More For Us" than "More Than Us" which fits more perfectly in this new era of Disney Channel cartoons. :D
I am so tired of the thing I love most in this world being shit on again and again. Animation has been a beacon of hope, inspiration, and a island of respite for me my entire life. Animators, storyboarders, the often very over looked over seas artists, and the many many many other people that work extremely hard to make and create animation don't deserve this.
Men like Butch Hartman, Craig McCracken, Gendy Tartakovsky all got to create numerous cartoons during their careers, which are still ongoing so they might make even more. Butch Hartman had Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, T.U.F.F. Puppy, and Bunson is a Beast. Craig McCracken has the PowerPuff Girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Wonder Over Yonder. Genny Tartakovsky had Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and Symbionic Titan.
But I don't see that trend in creator's today I guess? Like Rebecca Sugar has Steven Universe and only Steven Universe. Alex Hirsch has only Gravity Falls. Ian Jones-Quartey has O.K. K.O. and nothing else. And it's not like these people have left the industry by any means. They're still animating and voice acting and being producers, but I wonder what about the industry changed so that in the 90s and 2000s, if you had one successful show you got to make 3 others, and now if you have one successful show you never get greenlit for anything else.
It could just be these creators don't have an idea for a new cartoon or the Networks didn't like working with them. But it's hard to believe such creative people have literally no other thoughts they'd like to expand upon in cartoon form. Or maybe the previous creators just had weirdly strict contracts that demanded they keep putting out new works during their tenure at studios.
The one exception to this trend is C.H. Greenblatt, who's been able to create at least two cartoons: Chowder and Harvey Beaks.
So they say that the new era of Disney TV cartoons will be led by the likes of C.H. Greenblatt...
Well, I’m just hoping that the House of Mouse will treat C.H. better than Nickelodeon or WB-Discovery (I mean, considering how messed up everything has become over there, Jellystone might as well be cancelled by now too...)
So I’m only hoping that C.H. Greenblatt won’t be screwed over again... I’m hoping that Disney will respect him more...
Ngl, I actually thought I'd find Chowder to be okay at best as an adult because of Panini, the fact that it follows the rule of funny (which I don't always agree with) and I was worried I'd get sick of the 4th wall breaks. Thankfully this show ended up being really good from the first episode to the very end. Here my review of Chowder on Imdb.
Either I'm going crazy or I just saw your name in the credits of a Jellystone episode I'm watching. Did you work on an episode in the latest season? What was it like?
I worked on the entirety of Season 3, and it was a blast while it lasted. It was great to work with C.H. Greenblatt again along with a few old friends and a whole bunch of new ones. It was actually fun to make, and I hope that rubbed off on the episodes.
Lucky Penny Color Edition is coming out November 22nd!!!
Ananth and I were able to team up with incredible colorist Julia Hagerty to bring color to Lucky Penny ... we’re so excited for this book to finally be out in the world!
Please check out our amazing new cover quote, C.H. Greenblatt of Chowder fame said some unbelievably nice things about Penny! I’m still bowled over that our book was on his radar. 💖
You can still pre-order Lucky Penny over here! (Or through your local bookseller!)
What was your first reaction when you found out that Big City Greens/Harvey Beaks/Jellystone! alumnis and creators of those shows will lead the Disney Channel Animation lineup after 10 years of serialized shows by Gravity Falls alumnis?
When i knew about those shows on development on early 2021 and my reaction was these.
Super happy for @chgreenblatt and his Harvey Beaks alumnis to pave the way of Disney TVA at Disney Channel on the 2020s as a rare case of animation snowball effect after HB was canceled at Nickelodeon.
The guy and his crew deserved it and i hope his and their alumnis shows from HB/BCG & JS! people get a greenlight PR this year and that one of them becomes the 100-Disney TVA show to air on 2024 as part of their 40 Anniversary.
Every time I think about Rodney Greenblat I have to spend a few seconds reminding myself that he isn't C.H. Greenblatt nor is he Joe Murray I mean you can see where I get it mixed up right? Parappa and Rocko's Modern Life feel like they take place in the same universe. Chowder too but not as much.
Just picked this up knowing how long this “C.H. Greenblatt-esque” style show deserved another season. It’s been a messed after that Warner Bros. Discovery crap we don’t want to talk about it back then. 😠
Still it was good to have “Jellystone!” back for another season….for now. I’m not holding my breath if it will continue or not; especially for their planned two-parter specials that my brain keeps holding about. I’ll would be wrong if it’ll finally happened.
