CHILDHOOD

What was their relationship with their parents growing up?:

İlaya d’Eath ( nee Burakgazi ): His mother died in childbirth so he never knew her. His father gave him his mother’s name as his first middle name, to remind him that his mother loved him. So while he never knew her personally, he is grateful to her for bringing him into life -- she is a large influence in his music he writes.

Ion d’Eath ( pronounced I - YON ): His father is around one hundred and fifty years old, a full fledged vampire. Ion kept to himself most of his life, secluded, until he found İlaya and they had Lorcan together. With İlaya gone, Ion is very protective over Lorcan his son, especially since he knows that he is the cause of Lorcan’s hardships, being both human and vampire, never being accepted fully by either species for being half-breed. While his father is a little old school, quiet and shows his form of love in non-conventional ways, Lorcan loves him deeply.

Saoirse O’Connor ( prounced SER- SHA ): His vampire “step-mother” -- she is a new vampire, turned by a rogue vampire and rescued by Ion sometime after they moved to Ireland, who he helped teach to live as a vampire. Lorcan doesn’t know her extremely well, as she and his father only started dating about three years ago and he only gets to see her during the summer months; however, he likes her just fine. As long as she makes his father happy, then Lorcan will be happy. She is kind to him and he absolutely loves her strong, Irish accent.

What was their relationship with their siblings growing up (if applicable)?: He was an only child growing up, but now he has a half-sister that he absolutely adores named Ava, who is around two years old. She is a little rascal, always biting everything, and he would do anything to protect her.

Were there any other key people in their childhood? What was their relationship like?: He really only had his father growing up. He made a few friends while he was at Durmstrang Institute, but at that time he was still learning on how to be half-vampire, trying to keep it secret, so he never let anyone get close.

What was their lifestyle like growing up?: Lorcan grew up in the countryside, so he’s always enjoyed the outdoors. He was sometimes limited to the physical activites he could do outside, as the sun can weakened him if he is exposed to it for a long time. This was one reason that Ion gifted a guitar to him at a young age, so he had a hobby indoors.

What are your hobbies?: He has his own band (the leader singer) and can play guitar and piano -- he composes the songs and writes his own lyrics. He also has a love of space, stars and constellations.

What is your opinion on muggles?: He doesn’t think of them often, but he doesn’t have a problem with them, though there is a small fear of humans hunting vampires.

Where do you stand in the upcoming war?: Lorcan has remained neutral, though if he had to choose, he would probably choose the Order, since there was a highest chance of them not mistreating him as a half-breed.

What is your biggest strength?: Aside from the physical strength and speed he gets as a half-vampire, it would be his openness and empathy.

What is your biggest weakness?: He falls in love too easily, and will always put others before himself.

La versión corta: Extraño al Bertie. La versión larga: Adoro a Bertie, su personalidad es tan bella, es un muchacho con tantos sueños y me inspira tanto el cómo se toma la vida. La última vez que lo tome sentí una gran conexión con él y quiero seguir su historia, el ver cómo sigue sus sueños y el cómo su vida resulta.

¿Cómo ves al personaje psicológicamente?

Hay muy pocas personas con las cualidades de Bertie, es un chico tan lleno de vida y alegre como pocos en el mundo, quizás para algunos aquella actitud del ravenclaw podría llegar a ser un tanto empalagosa, pero así es Bertie, el tipo de persona que puede llegar a ser tan tierna que su personalidad te empalaga, pero como un buen dulce por más que sea tan empalagoso al rato vas a querer más de él, igual pasa con Higgs, puede llegar a cansarte, pero terminaras buscándolo nuevamente porque su sonrisa y aquella personalidad tan amigable será algo que querrás nuevamente.

Como en una de las partes de su biografía dice, Bertie parece salido de una película de los años 50 y es verdad, quizás aquella especie de conexión con la época hace que sus artistas muggles favoritos sean de estos años, en honor a estos el nombre de sus mascotas.

Es un chico sumamente talentoso, quizás no en los deportes, como su padre pero si en otras cosas, específicamente en el arte, como su madre la cual desde pequeño le inculco el amor a esto, junto a ella Bertie aprendió tantas que lo formaron a ser aquel chico que parece salido de un musical. Sabe quién es y lo que quiere, esta tan seguro de eso, de sus sueños y sus metas y sabe muy bien que no se detendrá hasta conseguirlos.

The Treacle People are back!

For the past eleven weeks, we've been uploading fully remastered, HD episodes of the 90s stop-motion comedy TV series to YouTube! There are just two episodes left of Season 1, and it's been wonderful to read all the lovely comments so far.

The show was written by Jonathan and Brian Trueman (the writer of Danger Mouse, Count Duckula and more) and is cunningly aimed at both children and adults, with multi-layered jokes that work for both. And no, it's not pantomime double-entendres (though if you ask, we'll give you one), we've got gags about Ethelred the Unready, Special Relativity, and a policeman lying low on a chop-out (it's like a stake-out except smaller and cheaper).

The premise is thus: as you all know, treacle (the sticky stuff used to make golden syrup) is mined by treacle miners in the North of England, specifically in the village of Sabden, where Professor Baines-Pilling has invented the world's first treacle-powered engine. HOWEVER. The Saben treacle mine has run dry. The community is in crisis. Chief Miner Tapper Knowle is at his wit's end. If they don't find another treacle seam, they'll all be out of a job in a month.

Enter Bill Wizzle and his Treacle Tracker, who reckons he can solve all the village's problems. Enter Rosie Mitton, his best friend and custodian of the village brain cell, without which he couldn't find a seam in his trousers. Enter Bert the Boggart, resident of Gurgle Gorge mine, whose mischievous streak is entirely forgiven on account of him being cute and fluffy. Seriously, he's adorable. Eat your heart out, Baby Yoda.

Tbh me identifiqué mucho con ciertas cosas de Bertram, y ya que murió Lene decidí usar mi cupo con él. Also el que apareciera Nani con Minerva me convenció un poco y también que me gusta burlarme de mis personajes.

¿Cómo ves al personaje psicológicamente?

Bertram Aubrey, el chico de la mala suerte, un chico incrédulo y que sobre todo no piensa que algo bueno le pueda pasar (porque nunca le ha pasado algo bueno), autoestima en el piso pero no le molesta, ya se acostumbró a eso.

La gente lo describe como sarcástico, pues es su método de defensa y tiene un humor negro muy característico porque solo lo aplica a él mismo.

Es empático, es bueno (siento que es como yo, en el sentido de que el mundo fue cruel con él y que por eso no quiere/puede ser cruel con los demás).

Siento que se exige demasiado, pero nunca logra lo que quiere y esto le ciega en muchas ocasiones las cosas buenas que tiene.

Ahora más a fondo es gracioso y es un alma buena, diría que es como un cutie pie sarcástico.

Por dentro tiene mucho enojo contra él mismo: porque no puedo hacer nada bien, es su motto, pero si hace cosas bien, pero no las considera.

Es alguien que solo necesita creer en si mismo porque no es solo un tonto que suele hacer lo que no debe, reír cuando no debe, y decir lo que no debe. Es alguien que es un excelente amigo y podría ser mucho más si solo alguien (él) cree en él.

Porque quiero un ravenclaw and also llevo in love de Bertie desde hace unos meses hehe. 

¿Cómo ves a tu personaje psicológicamente?

Hay muy pocas personas con las cualidades de Bertie, es un chico tan lleno de vida y alegre como pocos en el mundo, quizás para algunos aquella actitud del ravenclaw podría llegar a ser un tanto empalagosa, pero así es Bertie, el tipo de persona que puede llegar a ser tan tierna que su personalidad te empalaga, pero como un buen dulce por más que sea tan empalagoso al rato vas a querer más de él, igual pasa con Higgs, puede llegar a cansarte, pero terminaras buscándolo nuevamente porque su sonrisa y aquella personalidad tan amigable será algo que querrás nuevamente. 

Como en una de las partes de su biografía dice, Bertie parece salido de una película de los años 50 y es verdad, quizás aquella especie de conexión con la época hace que sus artistas muggles favoritos sean de estos años, en honor a estos el nombre de sus mascotas.

Es un chico sumamente talentoso, quizás no en los deportes, como su padre pero si en otras cosas, específicamente en el arte, como su madre la cual desde pequeño le inculco el amor a esto, junto a ella Bertie aprendió tantas que lo formaron a ser aquel chico que parece salido de un musical. Sabe quién es y lo que quiere, esta tan seguro de eso, de sus sueños y sus metas y sabe muy bien que no se detendrá hasta conseguirlos.

Claro que él no es una persona perfecta, no está cerca de serlo, se puede distraer con tanta facilidad que puede ser ese uno de sus más grandes problemas, no porque él quiera, si no que su mente divaga entre tantas cosas por hacer, en sus próximas aventuras, que puede llegar a cortarte la conversación por completo solo para ofrecerte ir en una de estas.
